    Hugs to everyone whether they need it or not.

    Had my hair cut today. It takes about 25 minutes to get there as she lives out of town and was worth staying with her when she moved her salon into her home. She gabs a lot and I really need that although sometimes i feel like I need to put duck tape over her mouth so I can talk about something. You know you do use your hairdresser/barber like you do a therapist. She had really had a blow up at her husband and we really got to talking about husbands as we both have been with our men for a long time. We determined that you have to find a man that you can trust a man to stay with you through the really tough times but even though you may feel like killing him through the small things, like socks on the floor, you have to remember those big, tough times when he is your rock.

    As soon as I get home from appointment, I have to get home, wet my hair, blow dry it and roll it. I don't pay her to do it as it is the same hair cut for many years. I wouldn't have to be so pressed on time if we didn't do so much talking. She has a golden doodle who is so precious. Bailey got her first real bone this afternoon while I was there. At first she didn't know what to do with it but by the time I left she was enjoying it. But as soon as I get home, we immediately go out and then there is church and choir practice. I get home around 9. So from 2:30 to 9 I am going strong.

    Well Charlie's bag has stayed on since yesterday at 2 PM!!!!! I almost hate to take it off tomorrow when we see the specialist but she needs to see his skin and see if she can find a solution to keeping a bag on. I already have my little bag together with the sample bags she ordered from the company, a bag I had from one of my big sample boxes, and the medicated powder I have to put on his skin. As you know, we are not morning people and this appointment is at 9:45! Then I have an appointment with my doctor at 1PM. In the evening I have 'dinner with the pastor'. He started that this year. Every month he has different letters of the alphabet coming and tomorrow night is mine. He loves to cook, desserts are one of his favorites plus grilling. So I have no idea what we are having. We have a lot of people with last name beginning with H and there are a lot of kids so they set up a lot of tables outside and just had a big grill out. The weather we are having now would be perfect for that. Going with some of my favorite friends.

    Joyce, indiana where we are having spring weather.

    Becca,

    I am still learning how to deal with stress other than by eating, but here is my short list:

    Pet my dogs
    Putter around in my yard (take a yard tour)
    Look at my favorite pictures of my grandchildren
    Go for a walk
    Color
    Take a nap
    Read a book
    Watch a favorite program on TV
    Vent to friends

    (((Hugs)))

    p.s. you are brave

    Love to all!!! Hugs too...
    Becca - a good question, my quick answer was a glass of wine, but not so true anymore...
    wine
    herbal tea
    visit with a friend or visit here
    cuddle with Levi (my dog)
    work - that sounds weird but it is mind consuming and most of my stress is related to $$$ so that works

    Caught up but not much time to post now...

    Re: Can't seem to send you a message from my phone but I sent you a friend request. If that doesn't work, I'll send you a message when I am back home.

    Melanie - lots of reasons you may not lose for a week... Stress, hormones, retaining water... If you are accurately tracking your calories eaten then the weight will come off in time. I would not worry about changing anything unless you remain stagnant for a few weeks.

    Joyce - Hang in there {{{hugs}}}}

    Barbie - Thinking of you and Jake. {{{hugs}}}

    Vicki - Hope you get good news and that the doctor was able to get everything. Have a fun vacation.

    Mary - thinking of you and your daughter. {{{hugs}}}

    DJ - I can think of many worse places than a pool to be stuck for two hours. :) I do hope the lock company has an answer for you.

    Becca - {{{hugs}}}

    Allie - Happy Birthday! I hope you enjoy your trip.

    KJ - thinking of you and your sister. {{{hugs}}}

    Linda, still enjoying vacation in Missouri

    Becca- I will be praying for your DH and family. (((Hugs))) I love doing Suduko too. I also like to take a walk, make plans for the month by looking up events in the area and filling in my planner, water the flowers and play with my dog.

    Joyce - yeah! It sounds like you got it working right. You are such an awesome wife! Charlie is fortunate to have you caring for him.

    Heather - great picture of your DGC. I'm sorry that you have been under stress with the vote. I hope there is a silver lining!

    Thanks all for being so understanding about my airport hotel. DH just doesn't get it. Plus this is an airport we never use,so I wouldn't even have the comfort of familiarity. Plus it's January. Brrrr.

    Hello Ladies;

    Once again, it is late here, but, I wanted to say goodnight and thank y'all for the kind words about the picture. It really is a horrid shot - such an odd stance I had when my friend took the pic. I will find my own camera, one of these days and take a picture where I am standing up straight! I need an "after" shot to go with my old before and after shots from ten years ago - when I was at maximum density.

    I am a long way down from there - but only the 11 pounds down since I started tracking here at MFP....and 26 pounds down from my "coasting" weight of 275. I bounced around 275 for something like ten years after I lost the initial weight back in the day. 15 pounds dropped off on their own when my Hubby had surgery on his ankle this fall. First, I wasn't cooking for him for almost two months while he was in hospital and physical rehab and I ate differently when I wasn't catering to his dietary whims... Second, when he did come home, he had to be in a wheelchair for a while. Shockingly enough, pushing him around, hauling the chair in and out of the car - these are very good exercise and the pounds disappeared.

    I might weigh myself every day - but always around the same time, on the medical scale at my gym... and because my weight does fluctuate madly - sometimes five pounds in a day - one way or another - I don't panic if the scale shows something unexpected. Nor do I count a low weight number until the scale shows the same number two days in a row... so, my weight appears to drop off in fits and starts - because of the fluctuation.

    Since the number on the scale isn't the most important thing to me - just an indicator of overall success - I try not to get wrapped up in the fact that it is taking AGES to lose weight... lol. I am way more excited - and motivated - by the loss of TWO pants sizes than I am about any number on the scale. Just have to keep chugging away on the elliptical - and keep doing those abdominal crunches... and measure out those &*#^&^ almond M&M's into something like half ounce packages...

    I don't deny myself these little treats - but I know myself well enough to know - if there is an open bag of delicious candy within arms reach, it's going into my mouth. So - my solution is to open the bag - in the kitchen - and immediately measure it out into "servings" into ziplock bags. I put them into the cupboard - and only take one of them out at a time. There's nothing wrong with eating one serving of M&M's... once in a while. *avoids opening the bag for another day - when she might have time to put the above plan into action*

    Well Beautiful Women... tomorrow will be along before I am ready for it... So I am off to sleep.

    Hugs all round!

    Morning all... and for KJ and Becca, many hugs. Barbie, hope Jake's surgery did exactly what y'all hope.

    Since we're all looking for good news, my DH got a job yesterday, they hired him on the spot at Texas Workforce when he went in to interview with them for a job constructing a solar plant. He starts next Wednesday. While this job is only a couple months long, they're constructing five in the area, and the good ones stay on from one job to the next. It's hourly, but good pay for the area, and I'll bet dollars to donuts he'll be supervising a crew by the end of the first job, if not the first day. It's six ten-hour days, 60 hours a week, but he was doing that anyway, and at least he'll be able to have one day completely off, something he hasn't had since we lived at the ranch. With the overtime, he'll be making what he's making now. Almost to the penny. Weird how that worked out.

    He's still on vacation, and headed out to the ranch to start moving our stuff this morning--his tools first, of course, but they're probably worth more than what we've got out there in total. We live pretty leanly, and literally built all our furniture except the loveseats. Hoping one of the Mexican men will be able to help him load what's too heavy to lift alone... unloading is always easier for some strange reason.

    He'll meet his boss out at the ranch tomorrow afternoon to show him how and where to turn the well pumps on and off for the hunting camp--and when he went in to give notice, his boss told him we were right, he'd been told by the owner to advertise for a replacement for him as soon as he said he wanted to live in town. More power to them on replacing him--it's not that easy to get someone to live that far from town--and of course, limits the spouse's chance of getting a job, as witness my experience. I hope they get someone with half Corey's experience, ability, patience and tolerance for their chaotic situation--they didn't really know what they had, but they're about to shortly--EVERYthing breaks on the ranch, and nobody out there has any mechanical knowledge. They know cows, not cars. The owners aren't bad people, just don't have a clue what they're asking because they don't live out there--they live in the DFW Metroplex, where everything's right down the street.

    Anyway, we've also got a line on an RV, up in Odessa (90 miles away) that is older, but looks pretty good--and a great price. We're supposed to go look at it Saturday, and hopefully he still has it by then. That would get us living at the warehouse legally, pretty much as soon as it's parked out back. Fingers crossed it works out--it would mean not having to take a loan out, something we'd much prefer.

    Up fairly late this morning, nearly 4 a.m., but it took Benadryl to do it, had a really hard time sleeping (wonder why?). Will walk Daisy this morning as soon as it's light, trying to do that as much as I can--and while it's for her sake, it sure won't hurt me to get in that routine, either!

    Allie, my feelings for Tom's treatment of you are unprintable--but I won't urge you to leave anymore. As long as you still feel you should stay, for whatever reasons, you'll stay. Like someone else said, we teach people how to treat us--and you've taught him it's ok to treat you like a non-person, like a servant. All we do by sympathizing is help build your resentment, not your resolve.

    Second cup of coffee in the works, then getting Quickbooks caught up before first light.

    Love y'all without reservation--YOU are my stress relief, often enough,
    Lisa in sunny, hot West Texas

    Lisa Your post this morning was awesome. Your husband and you both have such great work ethics, and you are both dynamic and good and...well..."you is kind, you is smart, you is important!"

    Congrats to your husband for finding that job. Whoever hired him was just plain lucky to be in the right place at the right time and recognize a winner.

    Hope the RV is perfect for you.

    You are spot on about the enabling.

    Re I like how you handle the M&M's. If only I had done that with the pretzels.
