Happy Saturday All!
Date night was great, and I got both the Pad Thai (and the drinks) that I had been craving. We love and miss our son, but I have to say it is nice to get the house back to ourselves. I did a lot of pre-planning knowing that the calorie count would be off the charts - and the scale angels were kind. I'm back in the 180s, but barely and should be able to work that off without too much difficulty.
Our Tigers play tonight, it is Senior night, and we will be off to Beale Street this evening. The 901 Soccer Team kicks off it's inaugural professional game at the stadium tonight too, so downtown will be hopping if the weather blows through. Predicting storms through the afternoon with a chance of severe.Timing is everything. I think I'll go menu-shopping in a minute and try to figure out a meal plan that won't hurt too badly given the bar-food options.
Birdie - Congrats on the 2 miles!!
Lynn - Hope the weather is great for your Maple tapping. Have fun with the family!
@gemwolf110 - Men... tell him your going to send him with a tape recorder next time -Lol!! Hope the pup's leg is good soon.
Sara - Hope you and pup have a happy cuddle and nap after the carpet cleaning.
Wishing all a great Saturday!!1 -
went out to get some steps in and then took the dog, maybe a minute of sun and the wind is so biting cold.
Set back clocks, change battery in smoke detector and flip mattress.
Bought a WW magazine with 110 recipes, says it only has 5 ingredients and is only 15 minutes, has more than 5 ingredients and the prep time is 15 minutes. But a couple new recipes to try.
Hot drink while I knit is a small size of ginger tea mixed with a small size hot chocolate, more liquid for me.

Good morning!
I must get moving, but it's hard to do today. Yesterday, I had tons of energy. Moose Lodge served lunch to Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, Rescue Squad Members, and EMTs. We were at the Lodge from 9:30 to 3:00. Then I went shopping, back to the Lodge, grocery shopping, and did laundry.
As soon as the BC kicks in, I plan to start unloading drawers in two chests to sort clothes. I have to make room for the new I bought this week. I have so much that doesn't fit now or I just don't like. Time to clear out the bigger things to remove the temptation. I don't want to ever be back in the XL-3XL range except for a few t-shirts for sleeping.
I finally feel I have found the proper support and lifestyle to successfully be healthy. Wishing all of you, my friends, the same peace.4 -
Good morning Sara and Tracy~~
Spring Ahead!!! I mentally do the time change by doing it once I'm up on the Saturday of that weekend. I put all of the clocks in the apartment forward, and I "lose" my hour during the daytime. It works for me.
My head cold is worse, so my brain is not working very well.
I ate a lot yesterday, but very little of it was carby, so the scale is moving down again.
*tossing hat and beach bag onto favorite lounge chair for later*

Twiley that is so exciting!!! Nothing feels better than that step into new clothes, new size, and the knowledge that you have done the right things for your health. Congratulations!
I woke early this morning. My son's girlfriend has a birthday today, and I thought that I would bake her a cake. For the first time in what feels like weeks the sun is shining and the air feels like early spring. I made coffee and put REM on the CD player and started baking. It was so nice to see the morning light streaming through the windows and catch a few moments of peace before the chaos of the day! This morning was a blessing.
I was in the mood for a light and citrusy cake, but the pantry gods were not cooperative, so chocolate-mocha it is! I haven't baked a scratch cake since I started back on MFP, but birthdays are a special thing, so one piece and then I am sending this home with them!
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday filled with love, peace and laughter!

Well, it was my turn to get sick... and, boy did I...I ended up going to Urgent Care, which I never, ever do. DH had got sick last Saturday, severe headache, nausea, deep cough, fever. I didn't worry too much, as we almost never get sick at same time. Tuesday it hit me hard. 102.8 fever. I always push thru and go to work, anyway. No such thing this time. I tried to work Thursday and Friday as another girl got sick. They sent me home almost immediately Thursday and I lasted only an hour on Friday. I pretty much slept the entire week. I'm feeling a bit better, now. Hoping the worst is over...
Waves to all! Spring is coming....I think...4 -

MONDAY
Good morning,
Weigh in, at new high. New habits started yesterday so we shall see.
Hail like I have never seen yesterday and so cold that a half hour later it was still on the ground when it was safe enough to take dog out. I was glad to not be on the road. Was thinking of the line from the Wizard of Oz, "We are not in Kansas anymore".

Good morning all!
Glad to see Lana was able to pop by yesterday.
@suzu_2 The new clothes are fun! I am enjoying boutique shopping. Never thought I would. Do you have any favorite places? I need to head that way this summer.
The clearing out the chests of drawers took four and a half hours. Took two bags of clothes to my mom for her to try. One huge bag to take to a friend at work for her church clothes closet, one medium bag of logo workwear to leave on the break room table for anyone who wants it. Now, I actually have a sock drawer again and one drawer is still empty! Maybe my next free day, I can tackle the dresser and the closet.
After the cleaning, I took the clothes to my mom's and hung out over there for a while. Came home and meal prepped for the week. My casserole made 6 servings. I ate one for supper last night and packed the other five for lunch this week. It is so delicious! But, Phew! I'm tired.3 -
Twiley - I am a separates shopper. I will pick up a cute top at a discount store like TJ Maxx or Marshall's and then find the "perfect" long duster sweater or linen jacket to match 6 months later. The one thing I try to invest in is decent fitting pants and skirts. I may not always pay a lot for them, but I usually take them in to a good alterations shop or tailor to get the right hem professionally done in proportion to my body. Congrats on the new wardrobe!
Short work week for me. The Tigers are hosting the AAC basketball conference this week and I took off Thursday and Friday to cheer on the team.
In honor of Monday - LOL

Missy - 2 more casts? Wow. that is a long time yet...sorry to hear!

TUESDAY
Good morning,
Sometimes I fall asleep easily when I hit 10k and sometimes not.... last night was a not. Neighbor has parties on his "Fridays" which vary from week to week and he is a loud person anyway. Quietly hoping they dont continue his lease I know his neighbors on the other side complain about the noise.
Dr visit this morning, hope when she asks for a blood draw it doesnt take forever as I have to be home for a "window" of time for carpet cleaning. Some things still to move and to vacuum. We shall see. Rain in forecast is single digits during my outing so hoping for dry roads.
Will lurk when I can. Wave to all who follow.3 -
Feel better Dawn! Good luck and dry roads Sara. I feel ya on the empty nest Lynn. I really miss my son and Baxter, but I'm really glad that he seems so happy.

Dr said protein shakes for occasional snacks (not meal replacments) are okay but check the sugar grams.
Steps are down in # but dog is fed and the sun is out so I may go get some more walking in,

Brand new member, I'm only 3 days in, and I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the advice, out there.4

I'm becoming incredibly discouraged this time around.
In the past, when I wanted to lose weight I'd just cut my calories way, way back... to an unhealthy amount (1100 - 1200 calories.. I'm 5'11" so this was not very much). I didn't exercise except for 30 minute walks. This method left me feeling weak, foggy-headed, lethargic and cranky. And, of course, I would always gain the weight back eventually because hunger would take over eventually.
This time I'm eating around 1,450 calories a day and exercising for 45 - 60 minutes, 3-4 days a week. I am also focusing as much on strength training as cardio, so I can build muscle. I am keeping my macros in balance, drinking lots of water and unsweetened tea... but my weight isn't budging. I haven't bothered to measure myself yet... my mind is focused on the scale. That's how progress is measured in the app as well... I think that's why I am getting frustrated. Part of me knows it's irrational, that I should just focus on being healthy, but another part of me wants to see that number go down!!2 -
10199 steps
Have been swamped at work as we focused on an important project. It was done yesterday, so everyone more relaxed (and worn out) in office today. One frustrating thing was that they told to to make all arrangements for refreshments/snacks/meals and gave me a ridiculously low budget for 2 meals for the number of people they said. I managed to get everything we needed. Then they said budget even lower. So i reworked it to get it to where they wanted it. This was my entire week. Then Friday morning, they told me to cancel everything, that there would be no food at the event. Aggravating, but okay, whatever. Then Monday morning, suddenly they wanted food again! AARRRRRRRGGGHHH!
I did not eat well the past few days. Lack of time and stress eating got me. Last night, the team went out to celebrate. Fried pickle spears were my downfall. I am almost afraid to step on the scales today.

Dawn - sure hope you get to feeling better. i think the bugs going around this year are a bit meaner than other years.1
