    Morning all

I swear every time I think I find a new way to exercise...it goes defunct. However, I will keep trying. I have had a pain in my right chest/side, can't breathe, etc...so I know it's time to quit being so lazy. I don't want to end up like my parents...love them, but not their health.

@trooworld yea for getting back to normal..I do remember walking into that many emails...that's when I started working 24/7 years ago...now I wish I would have just said...oh well it will wait..LOL

@TeresaW1020 I love your tree and shelf. I am just not in the mood for Christmas...I used to be so Christmas minded, but the last few years of my life it's been more of emotional distress, so I try to avoid it...

@krupalip Yea you are back and didn't lose anything!! Sorry to hear about your mum in law, but thankful you still have her.

@theslightedgeforever Okay I will go look at Pintrest...Well I was probably up in my room reading or primping...I never saw the "fun" in the parade...LOL Yes I am like Dad...

@TrishasTime I hope your meal went well..yea for the new WW getting to your area.

Okay gals, I am going to go try to find Leslie Simmons on YouTube and get my butt moving...

    Hi all!

@cbabie, what kind of exercise were you doing that caused chest/side pain. You might need to go slower. I've spent so much time injuring myself because of exercise that I am now incredibly careful to listen to my body. Not that I won't do something to hurt myself again! :D I'm sorry that Christmas isn't a joyful time for you. I spent a great deal of my life under incredible emotional stress so I understand that it's not always a time of fun for everyone. Decorating makes me happy and I do it even if there is no one to enjoy it. I did tell my husband that we will probably begin downsizing in a year or two. He rolled his eyes at me. ;)

@theslightedgeforever, so what do you eat on the Shred diet? What kind of exercise? Is it a lifetime thing or just to get you started losing again? Details...I need details!! :D

Thanks to everyone who commented on my tree and shelf. I collect snowmen and nutcrackers but my house is small so I have been told that I either have to get rid of things or stop buying more. Husbands!! :# I had a great four days off of work and had some really good workouts on the treadmill. Today my body told me to slow down and stop. I'm really hoping that I will have no gain tomorrow and maybe even a slight loss!! *fingers crossed*

I have also decided that next year I am not doing the normal Thanksgiving dinner at home. Since we will have a big dinner at the church I will focus on that meal and make our Thanksgiving more healthy and have no leftovers. I really think it's the leftovers that are the biggest issue for me. :/

@Trooworld Thst burrito sounded really good. I think I’d like to try it. We have bookclub in a week and s half. I need to get started. But if I read too early then I forget everything because I read other books in between

@cbabie Go out and walk while the weather is nice. Soon it will be hot again. What’s your favorite Christmas decoration? Why not start with ONE thing and bring back the magic of Christmas. Hang it in your bedroom if you must so you can look at it and be happy. My one thing from Thanksgiving is the parade. I saw a Facebook memory that said in 2009 I was watching the parade and baking two pies. Life is good. So what will bring you a little happiness. You never saw the fun in the parade? I’m wounded. Lol. Just the big floats This year I was saying kids look it’s Ronald McDonald. More like yelling it then Pikachu. You know I’m still a kid. That part hasn’t changed. I just remembered Rudolph is on tomorrow I think. I hope you are teaching your new gg baby all these things and not just the Scrooge part. 😬. I did a good Leslie Sansone this morning. It was a Boosted walk for 20 min. I hadn’t tried that one yet. I also did a 15 min walk outside.

@TeresaW1020 I’m not the kind of person to do a diet to get me started. I know I won’t maintain it and gain all the weight back. I’m more a lose it like you will maintain it kind of gal. Shred is basically a 6 week plan where he gives you options on food but you eat every 3-4 hrs. So smaller meals. He has the daily menus all planned out you just choose what you want. It’s basically a smoothie for one meal and a salad for another meal then chicken or fish plus veggies at another meal. That’s my choices. Once a week is lasagne Then once a week is beef of some kind. Then there are three snacks a day whatever you want. But they must fit into the calorie limit. 100 100 150. Then he mixes it up second week and onward. He says don’t eat same things everyday. Exercise is usually 40-45 min. But he says break it down to 15-20 min of one kind of exercise. I guess all this so you don’t get bored. I seem to get bored in Week 4. I’ve never made it past that. Today was successful including going to a chocolate cafe. My son has been wanting me to go and so he waits til the day that I start my new plan. 🙄. But I made it work. I guess that’s what the snacks are for. I ordered smallest thing there and only ate half of it. I still stayed within my own calorie limits. So onto day 2. Yes on Thanksgiving leftovers. Mine was the pie. But I only ate 1.5 pieces this year compared to previous years. I can eat a whole pie. One piece at a time over a period of days. Leftovers are the devil’s handiwork.

    Ok off to read.

@krupalip I’m glad you got your app all figured out. That would be a great New Years resolution. I seem to have the same two things every year 😕 I don’t like smoothies or protein shakes so this time around on Shred I’m doing smoothies for Week 1 only to go out of my comfort zone then week 2 I’ll just eat everything whole that I would put in my blender. Then back to smoothies for a week. See if that helps me. On the Iphone thing, is that Apple policy in India about buying latest edition. I bought an 8 and the 10 had just come out. I didn’t want to spend that much money. But my screen cracked on my 6 and had to buy a new phone. We’re an iPhone family except my hubby who likes Samsung. Neither one of us can use the other’s phone. Lol. I have loads of Pinterest recipes in my “to try” board. Tomorrow I’m making turmeric roasted cauliflower. Hopefully that will turn out good.

    Hello
I am trying to really assess if I am hungry or just want to fill my mouth. I have severe depression and my go to is always food. If I don’t fix this I will die. I don’t have a problem with that but I am sure some of my family might
Don’t like Christmas so I wait till about the 20th to put the tree up for the grandkids. Kudos to those who have already started decorating.

@cbabie I always know when it's time to eat healthy again when my stomach starts bothering me...our bodies know. Thankfully, I was able to delete most of the 200 emails I had to go through but it did take me all day to catch up!

@TeresaW1020 I've been told the same thing about my Christmas Village but then he's the first one to say, "You can go buy a building if you want." lol I agree with you about the leftovers, those are my biggest issue as well.

@theslightedgeforever It was really super good. Yeah, I have the same problem with books. I just finished the book I was supposed to read. I have the discussion questions, I'm going to have to look at them and try to formulate answers so I can at least look semi-intelligent. ;) That's if we have the meeting--- tomorrow is the meeting and the place still isn't picked!

@prisoner2food Hi Karen, one thing I look at when I am trying to assess if I am really hungry or if I just want to eat something is this: I ask myself if I am hungry enough to eat an apple? If I am, I'll eat the apple and go about my day. If I am NOT hungry enough to eat the apple, that means I am trying to emotionally eat or eat for some other reason. I will then try to distract myself by taking a walk, call a friend, write in my journal, or do some digital scrapbooking. Or maybe I'm just thirsty, so I drink some water. I'm glad you are here.

Hi all. My stomach has been upset and that is my body's way of telling me to get with the program and eat healthy again. Last night's dinner was healthy, it was Thai Red Curry Noodle Soup, so my body should be happier today. I'm trying to be more mindful when I eat, so I bought a placemat to take to work to set my food on to kind of set the stage for a nice lunch. It is to remind me that it is a meal, and to take my time eating. Today, I am going to try to put my fork/spoon down between bites. It's going to be hard not only because I'm not used to it, but because I only get 30 minutes for lunch. We'll see how I do!

    Morning to all!
I did a 20 min walk yesterday with Leslie...it felt good. But ate 3 mini cupcakes before I went to bed...so mute point..

@theslightedgeforever Nope never like parades and yes you and my DH are still kids...LOL I am not teaching dGG anything yet...and no it won't be scrooge...it will be why we have Christmas....and why her dear GGM was born on Christmas..LOL

@trooworld Sorry to hear your tummy is upset and yes it lets us know when enough is enough!!! You got this!!!

@TeresaW1020 It wasn't due to exercise...I am not sure what caused it. It almost feels like pleurisy in my right side...LOL I love Christmas..but I just can't deal with all the drama....and hurt. I have so much Christmas things...being born on Christmas, my mom always got me something about Christmas..she also used to buy me a chocolate Santa Claus. Some Christians taboo "Santa", but it's a part of Christmas...my mom bought me a ceramic figurine of Santa bowing before the manger...it's one of my favorites. If not much goes out at Christmas, that does...mostly because I know what it meant to my mom and today I really miss her. We were both Dec babies...so this time of year is special, but also can be depressing

@prisoner2food I really hope you get blessed this Christmas season!! I understand all about food!!! I love food and sweets!!

Well Baby is hungry...gots to run...she is on a liquid diet..LOL

For now I am trying to control my food intake. So far so good and not feeling hungry. Later I hope to get back to exercising as I loved going to the gym.
Time for housework as I am not working today or tomorrow.

Hey everyone, my younger daughter started playschool yesterday and since the timings for this week for my elder daughter are different, my gym routine is completely going haywire, I normally get 4-5 days of gym time but this week it’s gonna be cut short. Plus I have to attend my hubby’s school reunion on Sunday which I am not looking forward to since I will tempted to eat greasy food and avoid sangrias and beer...

@trooworld hope your tummy feels better soon, you do take your book club seriously and good to see you’re working on portion control, my problem isn’t portion control, it’s what I eat, carbs I wish they didn’t exist. Silly me but I am in a maintenance phase which I would love to make it a weight loss phase but not happening so far

@theslightedgeforever how are you, my hubby has an android phone too and I have to keep hearing how the iPhone sucks all the time but I am just not an android user. iPhones here are very expensive much more than in theUS so I have to make it work, my screen cracked too on my iPhone 6 but I managed to get it fixed, whatever said and done I can’t use anything but an iPhone and to say the least it’s just a phone. Hope your shred diet works out and all the best, you will be strong I know it

@cbabie hope you have a good Christmas this year with your family, don’t dwell too much on the past, make new beautiful memories with your great grand baby. I know the holidays can be a difficult time for some, but find the best in them

@TeresaW1020 how are you, I have decided to start my building muscle getting lean plan from December 3 and see how it goes, have a good weigh in and don’t think too much about it

Ok gotta run to the gym more later guys

@prisoner2food take each day at a time, you’re headed in the right direction

    Love to all cheers

@prisoner2food Depression is such a harsh disease. It robs you of joy especially around this time of year. Do you journal? I’ve started keeping an online one via Penzu. I like to write my “happy” for the day. Sometimes I have to look hard but there’s always one there no matter how small. Then I write my “negative” for the day. I do that and then go back the next day and reread it and really look at my thoughts on paper. Glass half full/empty I lean towards empty but I’m trying to change my thoughts on things. Your family would surely miss you when you’re gone. I didnt have much to do with my grandparents and wish I did. I bet you and yours could make some good memories together. I stopped eating yesterday when I wasnt hungry. Probably a first. I’m more of an eat by the clock person. I’m trying to restart the exercise habit too

@trooworld I do the same thing with questions in bookclub. I hate being called on and have the deer in headlights look. What book did you read this month. Placemat is a good idea

@cbabie. It’s not a moot point on your exercise. Celebrate! First step to a habit. You could have eaten the cupcakes and sat on the couch all day. You can pass on to the baby the tradition of the choc Santa I never got. 😉😂

So day 2 down of Shred. I made the cauliflower. It was good. Another day of staying within my boundaries. Rest day for exercise. Onto Day 3. I’m going out with friends for breakfast so I had to rearrange some meals and I’ve preplanned the day. Plan is to exercise before I go to breakfast. Eat only the food that’s planned.

@cbabie congrats on the exercise...it is not a moot point because you can build on it towards making it a healthy habit.

@prisoner2food That's great. Good luck with the housework. Enjoy your days off!

@krupalip Thanks, tummy is feeling better now. What do you think is keeping you from making it a weight loss phase?

@theslightedgeforever We read Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. I liked it. Congrats on day 2!

Hi all. Okay, I canceled out of the book club meeting. I did it for several reasons: 1) it took me nearly 2 hours in traffic to get home last night and I didn't want to stay out again late tonight knowing that tomorrow night it is going to rain and it will take me probably 2 hours or more to get home, 2) my anxiety about the meeting was really really high, 3) I shouldn't spend the money (it's at a restaurant). I will consider the day of the week of the meeting in the future. My stomach is feeling better despite going out for Thai food for lunch yesterday with a work friend. I'm eating healthier overall. I tried to drink more water yesterday but failed. I will try again today.

    Good morning!! <3

@cbabie, I totally understand how Christmas can be a time of sadness for you as you miss your mom. This is the first Christmas that I don't have my daughter. She loved Christmas and I find myself thinking a lot about when she was little and how much fun we had. And even though I know that she is free from addiction and living in Heaven, it still doesn't stop my heart from missing her and the gripping sadness that sometimes overtakes me. I work hard at turning that sadness over to God and believing in His perfect will even when I don't understand it at all. :'( I have seen pictures and figurines of Santa bowing before the manager and think it is just the sweetest thing! I'm glad you have that special memory from your mom. <3 As for your exercise being mute, that is totally wrong!! Exercise is for your mood, health, and to strengthen your body. What you eat is about your weight. :)

@theslightedgeforever, I hope Shred works for you and that you will find it sustainable for your life. I don't know if I could eat that often. I find that once I start eating I just want to continue eating. :# You are right that it's about making the plan work for your life. There will always be things like a chocolate cafe (OMG!!! <3 ) and eating out with friends, and we all have to make our plan work or it won't. We are invited out to dinner this Friday to one of my favorite restaurants and I've already looked at the menu and told my husband NOT to let me order the shrimp and grits. :D

@krupalip, that is a good plan to start building lean muscle. You are going to look so sexy!! ;) I'm an iphone girl too! I talked my husband in to switching to iphone and he does nothing but complain. I truly don't get it! The iPhone is the easiest thing in the world to use! Can't imagine not having it! :)

@prisoner2food, I do hope you get back to going to the gym. I find working out to be the best thing for my mood. I used to hate exercising and now I just crave it. So weird!! B)

@trooworld, I like that placemat idea and taking your time to eat your lunch. I eat mine sitting at my desk and I'm such a crazy fast eater that I sometimes don't even realize that I've eaten. That could explain why I have such a weight issue! :D

So, weigh in yesterday had me weighing the same and that is great in my opinion. It means I got to enjoy my Thanksgiving and leftovers and not have a gain. I'll take it!! I'm having a Christmas party for my staff and their spouses on Dec. 7th so yesterday hubby and I went out and did some shopping for it. I'm doing a fun gift exchange game and decided to buy all 12 gifts myself. I don't have people to buy for in my family because they all just get gift cards mailed to them and this way I got to shop and will get to wrap presents. I think I frustrate my husband but thankfully he loves me and indulges my retail needs. The gifts are holiday candies and other food items. We are hoping that we win the fruit cake! We love fruit cake!! <3<3<3

    Morning all!
It was good to get on and read all your post! I still have that pain in my upper chest/side. I still think it has to do with Stress as it comes and goes...it was really gone yesterday and then late evening it came on again. It could also be the chair I am sitting in..I am going to watch when it comes and goes..LOL I didn't get to walk yesterday, it's staff meeting at church and the time to get ready came up and surprised me.LOL

@prisoner2food/ Karen, good job on controlling your food intake, one step at a time..

@theslightedgeforever You weren't born on Christmas...LOL... when I die I will put in my will that you have chocolate Santa's the rest of your life..LOL I will make one of your kids buy one each year for you...NOT

@trooworld Good for you for making a choice that will lower your anxiety and free up more of your time. you are taking control of your life and health!

@TeresaW1020 Thank you for all your encouragement! We are having our staff party on the 7th as well, but thankfully not at my house. I am a terrible hostess...my sister got all those genes. LOL yes that is a win on staying the same weight!!! Congratulations

Okay, I have to go jump in the shower while baby is sleeping!!!

Feeling very ‘meh’ today. Back to work tomorrow for 2 twelve hour days and one 12 hr night. Not interested in getting stuff ready for work yet. ie. laundry, meal planning.
Perhaps after a trip to the quilt shop I will be motivated to actually do something. It is such a dull, dreary, rainy day that I just want to sit and read all day! But that does not get the kitchen cleaned!!

Good morning everyone - miss me :)

@cbabie - Depression robs you of joy and Christmas is just one more thing you have to do / get through. Just sending hugs out to you and hoping it may be different this year with a young baby in the house. As bubby gets a bit older, you are kinda forced to do things for them and perhaps you will get some enjoyment then.

@trooworld - love the fact that DH enjoys that part of you (he just tells you to go and buy another building). Glad you are feeling better.

@theslightedgeforever - I am not sure if I could have tiny meals every 3 to 4 hours. (unless I had a chef or housekeeper to do all the prep and just serve me). Let me know how the smoothies go.

@prisoner2food - Hi - I am in Australia and we have the nice sunny weather here at the moment. It is all about one meal at a time. I am not on track at the moment but hanging in

@krupalip - I am sure you will get into a different routine soon. I never go to school reunions - really not interested. The friends I have from that period of time, I am already connected to, so I think why bother.

Well I put my Christmas tree up ( my new Christmas Tree). A few years ago, I downsized and gave away all my Christmas stuff. This year, I went to put my pokey Christmas Tree up and could not do it and went and bout a 6ft one again.

    Take care everyone

@trooworld the book sounds interesting. Sorry you didn’t get to attend the meeting. I got half a cup more of water than the day before so I’m calling it progress.

@TeresaW1020 The first holiday after losing a loved one is hard. Sending virtual hugs to you. Shred works for me so far. I don’t necessarily eat all of the time but I am a grazer. I think that’s the point There are 4 meals he wants you to eat and then 3 available snacks if you need them. I almost never do the 10 AM snack and have a hard time with the 2. I have adjusted the timings to fit my lifestyle. I will say I have more energy in the early afternoons. I hear you on the iPhone.

@cbabie. You got the Santas and I got the hostess gene. I wonder where I got that gene from. I’ve learned it’s a skill that can be learned. Lately too unmotivated to do anything. Did you try the hot wet towel yet?

@prisoner2food I have the same response to rain. Sit and read. Gray skies depress me. I need blue skies and fluffy clouds. Do you have lunch and snacks prepped in advance for work?

@TrishasTime of course we miss you. While I freeze I know you are having nice weather and then when I am sweating to death you remind me of the cooler temps will come my way again. Lol. My meals aren’t really tiny. I’m having problems finishing the dinner meal. But that’s a good thing. Today’s smoothie wasn’t bad. I just found a recipe for a chocolate smoothie. I’m thinking of adding some PB to it. Can you get back on track at the next meal.

Day 3 down. I enjoyed myself at breakfast and then had to finagle my other meals but I made it work. Cheeseburgers were on the menu for dinner so I used a lettuce wrap instead. I stayed within calories and got 40 min exercise. Onto day 4

@TeresaW1020 Yeah the placemat is to remind me that it is a meal and to take my time. ;) Your party sounds like it is going to be fun and the gifts will truly be appreciated. I hope you win the fruit cake!

    @cbabie Thank you! I bet you aren't a terrible hostess. :)

@prisoner2food I love to sit and read and would do nothing but that if I could. :D

@TrishasTime me too! lol And me too (feeling better), depression sucks. That's great you put your Christmas stuff up. Pictures!!!

@theslightedgeforever You know, you are right: I made progress too. I drank about 16 oz more water than the day before so that is progress. Good job on day 3!

Hi all. We are finally getting the rain we need but it is already wreaking havoc on traffic. The freeway I take to drop off DH at the gym is closed due to a wreck, so he went back to sleep and is skipping the gym. Hopefully, that freeway opens up before I have to drop him off at work because I usually take that freeway to drop him off at work. Otherwise, I will take an alternate route. I predict it will take at least 2 hours to get home tonight!!!

    Morning all!
Well this pain in my chest was horrible last night...I have been reading on what might be causing it...I really think it's stress...and or/pinched nerve or both..LOL So I have not been exercising..it's all I can do to get through normal tasks.. it's funny how your mind will focus on one thing..so I am trying to ignore and just work on what I know is good for me...but still no walking...hurts to breathe...

@prisoner2food I am with you, don't really like the rain, although we always need rain here..lOL

@theslightedgeforever no I have not tried the hot towels....seems I always have something to do or some little one in my arms..LOL

@trooworld I so remember that traffic drive and thank God everyday, I no longer have to drive that to get to work...I won't even drive it unless it really is an emergency!!!

Okay gals have to run wash bottles..LOL

@trooworld Great news on the rain although I know it can really interfere with traffic. How has your exercise plan been?

@cbabie. Is the little one sleeping in your arms. Do it while you sleep. Remember put your own oxygen mask on first. 😘 I wore them at night 3-4 days and sometimes during the day and pain was gone. The towel doesn’t stay hot very long so you aren’t sitting there for hours. What about your oils. Those aren’t helping? So since exercise is off the table right now how is your food intake.

Day 4 was good. Stayed within boundaries and got 46 min exercise

I was standing talking to ds and he was eating Oreos. The smell of them hit me suddenly. I abruptly said I have to go. He said you weren’t done with your conversation. I said yes I am because if I stay much longer I will pour myself some milk and eat some Oreos. My calories are done for the day. So I went to my room and I’m distracting myself.

    Onto day 5

@cbabie do you think it may be time to see a doctor? It kind of sounds like it might be...just saying. Yeah, traffic stinks!

@theslightedgeforever What exercise plan? Does that answer your question? :P I need to get back to it. Great job leaving the scene of oreos. That's strong!

Hi all. Well traffic wasn't too bad on the way to work and the rain stopped at about 10 a.m. yesterday so it didn't interfere with my evening commute. It was raining in the middle of the night last night, so it may interfere with this morning's commute, we'll see. I really bombed this week as far as meal prep (didn't do any) and that really messed me up, so next week I made sure and scheduled easy meals. At least I hope they are easy. Here's next week's menu, in case anyone wants any ideas. As always, I will alter these recipes to make them as healthy as possible:

FUN MEAL: Instant Pot Tex-Mex Beef Stew
Roasted Sweet Potato, Pear & Pomegranate Spinach Salad + grilled chicken breasts
    Pressure Cooker Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Creamy Ranch Chicken + Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts (I'm not using the pancetta)
Feel-Good Fall Salad + grilled chicken breasts
    Beef Burrito

    Good morning ladies!! <3

@cbabie, how are you feeling today? Should you be going to a doctor? I am praying for you, my friend! <3

@theslightedgeforever, you are doing so great!!! In NO way could I have Oreos in my house and watch my husband eat them!! I just don't possess that kind of control. Good for you for walking away! B)

@TrishasTime, We need to see a pic of your tree!! It's so weird to think that you have Christmas in the summer. I suppose it's just as weird for you to think of us having it in the winter? :D

@trooworld, that is a good looking menu you have for the week! I really like the salads you posted and might try one next week for my menu. Pomegranates are so good and I rarely eat them. I know that Trader Joes sells them already the seeds ready to go and I am planning a trip there on Tuesday. ;)

So, yesterday we had our all-day staff meeting to plan our 2019 calendar and cast our vision for the year. The meeting went from 8 am to almost 4 pm. Long day but we accomplished a lot and we even kept our annoyances in check. There is an issue with our worship pastor. He is young and acts even younger but he thinks he knows pretty much everything and he talks more than any person I've ever seen. I think there are some things happening with him that might not end well. I'm praying for no drama!!

After the meeting, my husband and I went to see Cirque Dreams Holidaze downtown at our Classic Center. It was really fun and so colorful. The acts were amazing! It was a perfect way to kick off the holidays. :)

Here is a link if you want to see what it was all about :)

@prisoner2food Tell me one good thing that happened today to you

@Trooworld Something funny I just noticed. Guess what I’m having for dinner tonight. Ranch chicken and balsamic brussel sprouts.

@TeresaW1020 it’s hard for me too to watch someone eat something I want which is why I walked away. Otherwise I’ll just give in. They say environment is important to your journey. I like pomegranates too but hate deseeding them. Fortunately my DH likes to. I’ll go look at your holiday link when I’m done.

my neighbor sent me some scrumptious sweet potato casserole. I did good and measured out 1/2 c and ate it like dessert. I had to go back and rearrange my meal plan for the day to fit in those calories but it was so good. I was thinking this is something I could keep in the freezer in 1/2 c portions and pull out when I want something sweet. Way more nutritious than choc cake or Oreos.

Day 5 down and 41 min of exercise.

@TeresaW1020 My mom would have loved that show. We went to see Peter Pan on Ice. We were like kids. It’s nice to experience joy

    Morning
In response to all who have said do I need to go to a Dr, the answer is no. It's really not an option. I have good parts of the day and not so good parts of the day..I really think it's stress with a pinched nerve. I was supposed to go have a scan done last night to see what oils my body is needing, but my wonderful DGD had my car and chose not to come directly home...still upset over that one. I am going to try to get that done this week.

@theslightedgeforever my food intake sucks...I will leave it there.

@TeresaW1020 I am so sorry you had such a long planning day..but I can only imagine ours. LOL

@TrishasTime Living in AZ, it was hard to get used to no snow at Christmas, but after 30+ years it's normal. LOL I am not sure when I will put my tree up and where it will go.,..we are maxed in our house right now..Baby took over the living room.

@trooworld I am so glad you are back on track and I know you feel better. It rained hard here night before last night. It's a bit colder too. Well at least it will feel like DEC. LOL My oldest daughter said yesterday that she thinks we will have a colder winter this year...I told her to hush her mouth..LOL I hate the cold...makes my bones hurt.

Okay gals I have a busy day, but wanted to make sure I am checking in with you guys. You all are soding sow well and it's even a time of year when you expect some mishaps...so proud of you all

@TeresaW1020 Thanks! Yeah, I figured salads are pretty easy to throw together. Pomegranates are surprisingly easy to get the seeds out of: you just cut them in half, hold the half over a bowl and hit the back of the half with something heavy and the seeds fall out of the pomegranate! But it is much easier to buy them already out of the pomegranate. ;) I'm so glad that the Cirque du Soleil was fun! Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

@theslightedgeforever Hahahaha! That is hilarious! That was a good idea to freeze the 1/2 c portions of the sweet potato casserole. So easy to just pop that in the microwave.

@cbabie I do feel better. It's been raining here, I don't think it will rain today though. I think it will be cold today, that stew I'm making will be good on a cold night.

Hi all. I had a rough day at work yesterday, it was stressful, but all I ate out of it was a piece of Dove Promises chocolate so I consider that a win and I'm fine with it. I'm glad it was Friday yesterday because I would have been bummed to have to come in to work the next day. I needed a weekend!

Such crazy days at work the past two days. But a victory for me was not binge eating after I got home, which is my usual habit.
Working nights tonight. They are having a pot luck so I better stay out of the staff room!! Wish me luck.

    Morning all,
I needed to jump on here as I have church today and I have to be there at 7:30 and still lots to do before I get there. I didn't do well yesterday, I really need a break...yesterday was our holiday market at church and we finish up today. I was so tired and stressed from some things when I got home all I did was take care of baby, watch tv and eat...not a good combo. So starting again today...

@prisoner2food good for you not binge eating..I did for both of us. LOL

@trooworld Great job even though you had a rough day at work. Yes for the weekend. I still need those, but I am finding, I really am not getting them. So that is a good goal for me to work towards.

@cbabie Then concentrate on one meal and do that well. No one will give you a break you need to take one. You don’t want to end up like mom and dad.

@trooworld I’ve been picking the pomegranate seeds out with my fingers or a spoon. I like your way better. Looks like you managed your stress well. Bravo.

@prisoner2food Hooray. You had a success too. That’s the first step of a new habit. I like potlucks. I have a 3 thing rule. I look over all the dishes everyone brought in and I can choose 3 things and then enjoy them. That way I feel like I’m participating and not deprived. No seconds though. I usually get 2 things and dessert which I try to take half a piece. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone brought in healthy dishes.

Dh and I have the stomach flu. He’s really sick. Let’s hope this passes soon. I ate oatmeal for comfort food instead of eating my planned meal but I’m still within my boundaries. I’m only going to walk 20 min.

So first week on my new plan I lost 5.1 lbs. That’s before stomach flu set in 😉.

@prisoner2food the staff room is my weakness. Good luck, you've got this!

@cbabie Yes, even grandmas need breaks. ;) Can you carve out some time?

@theslightedgeforever Thanks! I hope your stomach flu passes soon. Congrats on the huge loss, wow! Your plan is working.

    Where's Trish???

Hello all. I have a lot to do today: laundry folding and meal prep must get done and that is a lot for me to do in one day. Hubby is going to "help" with the meal prep. I put that in quotes because when he makes the grilled chicken, he's going to make a big mess. He's also going to be taking up the kitchen to cook for his family when I need to be meal prepping. :( I wish he would cook for his family (which he does every Sunday) on Saturdays because he chooses to cook during the time that I need to meal prep. The alternative is for me to meal prep on Saturdays, which I don't like the idea of but I may do.
