Hi all...almost lunch time, but dh taking a nap instead. Hard to believe..I think his stomach can tell time, lol. But he said he woke up last night & couldn't go back to sleep, so that is probably why. I have unintentionally been doing about 16:8 IF. I don't seem to eat breakfast until about 10 & don't usually eat after supper. Between that, or really trying to limit my dairy (I thought it might be making me cough more), I have lost a few pounds. I have still been logging, but not weighing food as much as before. I wonder if I have just gotten some inflammation out of my body for the loss. & I do think it is helping my breathing....I don't feel as "rattly" as before. Really important right now, lol. I have been on the treadmill for about 30 minutes the last few days. Still need to up my water intake, tho.
@theslightedgeforever I think you asked my eating plan. I had gone back to setting my food to maintenance & using my exercise for my deficit about March 1 or so. Figured I should lose (even if slowly) as long as I keep some movement. Also have only had my Fitbit in my pocket, unless I am going for a walk or on the treadmill, so my steps aren't accurate either. I do wear it at night, because I want to track my sleep. For some reason, I really have not felt the need to snack that much right now either. (That's a new one for me!!)
@Shexio Your dog is so cute! Just realized he looks a lot like our last dog.
@trooworld I hope your dh stays well. That sounds like a stressful thing about his job.
@mswatson0777 A month & half long honeymoon! Wow, I am jealous, we had a 12hr one, lol. Again congrats!!
@TeresaW1020 I might check out the Fat to Fit. I think I looked at it quite awhile ago..before you started doing it, but never got into it. We had joined a church when we moved here, and attend regularly, but don't feel like we have really gotten to know anyone in it that well, so not really "family" yet for us. I can understand your Dh missing it, you sound very closeknit. I do really appreciate Father doing a live video mass every morning. I like the idea of "attacking" your house in 1-2 hr chunks. I should be doing that. All I've done of my decluttering is moving my cookbooks to a bookcase. I now have a clear space on part of my counter, lol. I remember how dd complained about all the green pollen down there when she lived in Alpharetta. Used to get her allergies stirred up pretty good.
I just realized (when someone said it) that JoannaDavison has not been on here for awhile. Also the girl from Australia. I hope they are safe & well.
I am in a little bit of a "poor me" mood today. Tomorrow is gd in OK 's 11th birthday, and any other time, we would already be there to help her celebrate. I have to remember that so far we are all healthy & that is what is important. We can always do her birthday later. Dd is thinking of maybe a half birthday party in the fall. We surprised gd yesterday & did a video call. That was fun, so will probably do it again tomorrow. We have been texting a lot with dd, but it was good to actually see them. Other dd & kids have been good with Facetiming us.
Well, my jury duty was to start April 1, & I am sure it is cancelled, but got a reminder to do the call in every Friday night, so will have to do that later. I think one of the reminders said basically..don't worry, you won't miss out, we will reschedule you. Darn!! Really wouldn't mind missing out! (I know not very civic minded...but!)
Stay safe everyone & have a good weekend (in case I don't get on here...you know so busy, lol.)0 -
Afternoon gals: Well it's been a tiring last couple of days. DGGD has been running a fever since Wed night..low grade mostly, but a couple of times higher. Been keeping in touch with the Dr's office. We are monitoring at this point. Probably worse things in the office..LOL So needless to say I have not been on the treadmill and eating when and what I can.
@mswatson0777 I just smiled really BIG when I read your news!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! I am so happy for you and your DH.
@RetiredAndLovingIt I agree with jury duty. I was selected one time for a hit and run and it was a week long trial and witnesses disappeared. We were told after the trial to watch our surroundings.... talk about scary. I don't miss it. I will say it was interesting, but I can live without it. I hope when this is all over you find a "home" church.
@TeresaW1020 I just laughed when I saw you still went into the meeting...Please stay safe and yes PM me. Tell me more about the fat to fit. I forgot what it was.
@theslightedgeforever You will get back on track, but actually I believe in truth.I think you are headed for a new Normal routine and should embrace it. (talk to Its_cleo). LOL
@Shexio I think my sister will say you little 4 legged friend looks like our parents dog they had. LOL. Welcome to the group.
@trooworld sometimes men don't think like we do. It's been interesting with the clean when you walk in routine.lOL
@its_cleo I am so proud of you!!! I am sure that I would not be that energetic. I actually like the idea of a balcony workout area. Sounds peaceful and like something I would enjoy.
Okay, gotta run, but wanted to check in since I have been missing the last couple of days.
Cbabie0 -
@cbabie you are probably right there are worse things in the doctor's office. I hope she feels better soon. Man that is scary about being in a jury! This year I am actually in a jury pool they could call at any time, but all the cases have been cancelled for now.
@RetiredAndLovingIt spending some time on treadmill sounds great....so sorry about your GD's birthday. I think it's normal to feel sad about things we are missing. It's a tough time.
@Shexio I'm Canadian. I live in Ontario.
@trooworld that's hard with your husband. It's really hard to give up our routines.
@mswatson0777 I love the quarantine honeymoon idea. I don't know why more people aren't doing it lol. I do have a feeling there will be a lot of quarantine babies in the fall heh
And a shoutout to @TeresaW1020's Fat2Fit group, it's a great group of people.0 -
@shexio Joyful foods. lol That's a good way to describe that. Awesome job for losing 75 lbs. Yes, tracking is the key. Pretracking and following it works even better for me. I always love different perceptions on subjects. Carb cycling for instance. I know I can do this the rest of my life versus other programs I've done. I started out following the program as written but then tweaked it because the days I exercise or did not exercise had to fit into my social lifestyle. So I had to switch up and just do red days whether or not I'm exercising. Plus the original plans schedule worked around when you had your period and now that I'm close to menopause, who the heck knows when that is going to happen so I've had to just get myself down to a 6 week program and then restart if needed. I love the quote from Tony Horton. So true
@its_cleo That's great you are using for balcony for some fresh air and exercise. You are using the stairs in your building. You are making the most of a bad situation. Kudos to you. The food will come if you keep working at it. That's what I'm telling myself. Just small choices each day add up. I'm watching Justified too. Love this show. I'm fangirling over Raylan right now. If you are bored, go YouTube Timothy Olyphant. I love his interviews. I was born in KY.My daughter doesn't have anything on her walls either. I told her that she's no longer a student and this is her home now. Make a home not just a place to sleep.
I'll catch up the rest tomorrow.

@trooworld, I know you are worried about your DH and yourself and rightly so with him being in the medical field. I am sure that you are both practicing all the safeguards that you can but it’s still really concerning. Stay safe, friend!!
@Shexio, I also need to eat fewer carbs and cheese. Last night I had baked chicken with roasted broccoli and asparagus, and it felt so good to not be bloated the rest of the evening. And my weight was done a little bit this morning. We are Southern neighbors! I’m in Athens, Georgia.
@RetiredAndLovingIt, that is great news that you are feeling better. Doing a 16:8 IF will help with inflammation and all other kinds of good benefits. I am sorry that you will miss your gd birthday. I like the idea of having another celebration once you all can be together again. Yes!! You should come on over and join Fat2Fit! I will post about it more below.
@cbabie, ohhh I am sorry that your girl is sick! You need to be extra careful not to catch it too. This is not the time to be going to the doctor’s office for anything. You know how stubborn we church people can be! I hope you will join Fat2Fit! I will most more about it below.
@its_cleo, thanks for the shout out and you have been such a wonderful addition to F2F!
Good morning! It’s hard to believe that its been two weeks since we have been told to stay in our houses. I am pretty sure that our ban won’t be lifted any time soon. We have over 2,000 infected people in the state and 24 cases in my town. My pastor has a daughter-in-law who is an ICU nurse at one of our hospitals and she has 8 people with the virus. We all worry for her and her husband who because he once had Lyme’s disease has to be extra careful and is quarantined in his house. On a happier note my attitude is much better and yesterday I was very productive, and my master bathroom got a major cleaning and organizing. Today, I’m getting inside my closet and moving the winter and summer clothes around. I also need to organize my shoes. DH said I should get rid of some shoes. The man is clearly crazy!
For those asking about the Fat2Fit group. I would LOVE to see more of you joining my team! Fat2Fit is a weight accountability group. We have six teams that have their own chat threads that last for a month and then we open up registrations for new people and create a new thread for the new month. The thread is basically just like this group. We chat, encourage, support, and share with each other our victories and struggles. We do have challenges that you can join if you want and we do a step challenge using a site called Fitrockr. You pick your day to weigh and record on that day which is kept on a big spreadsheet for all the groups.
Here is the link again and if you decide to join please just say in the comments that you want to be on Team Mission Slimpossibles! Fat2Fit Registration

I want to join your group, but that link doesn't work. Can you help?
Ugghhh that is what I get for NOT checking the link before posting!! Sorry about that and yayyyyyy for wanting to join!
Here is the link again for you and anyone else who would like to join Fat2Fit and be on the Mission Slimpossibles team with me and its_cleo!

@trooworld - I would be happy with maintaining right now, especially with pizza! You're doing something right
@renaegry - The drinks sound good, I like trying different things, but nothing too sweet. I like my whisky from time to time.
@theslightedgeforever I like the raw butternut idea.
@Shexio Warm liquids help with the snacking. I heat water in a coffee cup to drink, I prefer most of the time to cold water, unless it's really hot outside
@its_cleo I started watching Mad Men on Netflix, I'd never watched before, I have to admit I'm kinda hooked. It's a good way to pass the time. I admire your commitment to exercise, you always seem to find a way to make it work.
@cbabie - Hopes she's feeling better soon.
Rainy and dreary here. I've spent the day cleaning and watching a movie on Netflix. We got a new washing machine because ours complete died, so DH decided to remodel the laundry room because he never liked how the cabinets and shelving was originally done. I feel this could have waited, but he likes having projects to do. If it dries up later, I'm planning on going for a walk.

@teresaw1020 I'd love to join your team but I also belong to two other groups for accountability and just no time to post personals there too. I'll be there with you all in spirit though. You sound like you made a nice healthy dinner. We used messenger for our virtual bookgroup but then I've also used zoom for a potluck gathering and tomorrow I will use Snapchat for a friends gathering. Did you start the 20 seconds challenge again today? I need to put a sticky note on my computer to remind myself of that.
@Shexio Good idea about the stepping in place during a conference call. I have a friend who walks everytime she gets a phone call. I don't get phone calls anymore. I could do that with voice messages though. I'm from IL but I had 3 kids go to college in Iowa. One still lives there in Des Moines area. Iowans are the nicest people I think.
@mswatson0777 So who does the cooking in your new married life? Or do you share it? I was wondering if you had any good healthy recipes lately.
@trooworld The lasagna was really good. I liked it. A bit time consuming so I wouldn't make it all the time but I think twice a quarter maybe? I think it would be good with a bechamel sauce too. I think I'll try that next time. Thanks for giving me the recipe. Just hose your dh down before he walks back in the door. We live in very scary times right now. I worry about both my kids cause they are in the medical field. But then I remind myself at least they still have a job.
@retiredandlovingit That's good you are not feeling like snacks. That helps with the calories. Yaaaay on losing a few pounds. That's why we're here. That and to get healthy and learn new habits. I saw that girl scout cookies can be ordered online now. Does your dd have a site? I was thinking I could order some from her and send them to my kids.
@cbabie I hope your dggd (for some reason I think of diggety-dog when I type that. lol) is feeling better. Have you returned to the treadmill yet? Remember it doesn't have to be in 30 min chunks of time for it to count. Get on there for 5 if that's all you have at the moment and then later you can find another 5. It all adds up.
0 -
@trooworld Maintaining is good. Losing is better though. I get it. I'm glad you checked in with Joanna. I wonder how they are faring with this virus over in the UK.
@nighthazel01 Have you found a new routine yet with all the birdies back in the nest? I think I'm getting more of a handle on the eating now and will focus on the exercise soon. Having people home all the time and not being able to go out can really wreck a person's psyche. What movie did you watch? We've been having family movies lately. We just watched Hacksaw Ridge.
OK all caught up.........
April will be here soon. What are your goals going to be?
In the book I'm reading right now, it talks about craving and says the shame and guilt felt from caving to a craving is worse than the calories in the food you just ate. I haven't decided how I feel about that statement. I figure one can always get over the shame/guilt. Calories are there forever.
Anyway, he suggests that if you really want to eat something then do a couple of the following first and then go eat what you were craving. If you do more than two even better.
When a craving hits
1. Meditate for one minute
2 Eat a healthy item
3 Do one push up, one sit up, dance for a minute, etc.
4 Drink a glass of water
5 Delay for 10 min
6 Go do a hobby
7 Go watch a TV show or buy a new book or song
8 Go take a walk

@theslightedgeforever I watched Mud with Matthew McConaughey, it was a random choice on Amazon Prime. It was good. I watched Hacksaw Ridge awhile ago, also very good, and similar to the movie and book Unbroken. My family is starting to settle into a new routine, which helps, thanks for asking. My kids classes keep them busy, many of the professors haven't figured out how to run their online classes, so some of their classes have been difficult. My eating habits have improved, I'm not snacking as much, but I'm still overloading on carbs, pasta is an easy go to choice when I can't get to the store.
I walked around my house yesterday, because the weather outside was so blah. Hopefully today I get out for a real walk. I might even tackle cleaning out my computer room, there are so many papers to go through and shred, it would make for a great quarantine project.0 -
Morning all
Well last night is the first night in 2 days I got to sleep and in my bed. DGGD slept in my bed with me but we slept. First night with no fever!!! So I am hoping and believing today will be the start of something good!!
I did not get on the treadmill yet today. I didn't know she would be sleeping so long..NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING!!! Lol. I got to get some of my morning routine in. I can see why people forget what day it is when they retire. lol.
@trooworld Sorry that your book had a not so good ending. I read a book one time from an author that was good and I hated the ending and have never read another one of her books..LOL
@theslightedgeforever No I did not get on the treadmill. Going to try today. With no sleep and I mean no sleep, my body ached and I was cranky..
@nighthazel01 Well I hope to clean today. I feel like I need to disinfect everything after DGGD being sick. LOL
Well I hope everyone has a great day.
Cbabie

Hi to all..bright sunny day here, but so windy!! Storms around yesterday. I saw a tornado hit somewhere in the south yesterday. How scary & especially with social distancing. Have been walking on the treadmill, but didn't get it done yesterday. Oh well, you are supposed to have a rest day, lol.
@theslightedgeforever Thank you. That was so sweet of you to offer to buy GS cookies from her. But I think OK has shut off all sales, even online. Dd has been "cookie mom" (& leader of the troup) & cookie distributor for the council area (at times she has had about $90,000 cookies in her garage!!) I think she said she has been able to get rid of all the excess her troup had. Now if people would finish getting their money to her..I asked do they bring cash?Yup, guess so..told her to have someone else count it because of the splint on her hand, lol. Thanks for the compliment about Iowans, too, lol.
@cbabie Yay!! Glad your ggd is feeling better & you got some sleep. When I worked nights, I would try to stay up the first day off & without some sleep, I would get almost physically sick. It was nice you could sleep in a little.
@trooworld Pizza for breakfast sounds yummy.
@Shexio I like your Tony Horton quote. Sounds like you have a great exercise plan. You asked where people are from..I am originally from Eastern Iowa, but now live in the Des Moines area. (moved to be close to one of our dds & gkids)
@nighthazel01 Congrats on the new washing machine. I bet with everyone home it runs a lot. I know I've been washing more (especially towels & washcloths...trying to stretch my supply of paper towels)
Dh opened my bag of "emergency" peanut m&ms yesterday. I was fine with looking at the bag on the counter, but with them opened...not good!
Local dd was headed to Costco yesterday, so asked if we needed anything. She thought might not be busy since raining, but guess it was. (Isn't it always, lol) Anyway, probably could have used a few things, but didn't want her spending anymore time in there than was necessary, so told her no.
Dd in OK went out to get a cake for gd's birthday. It was very pretty...feel bad for a kid having a birthday now, not normal being so solitary. I asked dd to let me know when they had the cake, & we would video call to sing Happy Birthday. Dd forgot, so we just video called later.
Need to set April goals...one has to be to drink more water.
Hope everyone has a great day. Stay safe.0 -
Okay, sorta caught up on your posts. I should have logged and tracked yesterday as I took the day “ off “ from the more nutrient dense foods and focused on less nutrient dense choices. 😉
Sounds better that way don’t it? And it’s actually true. So I ended my day with a more than satisfying caramel Sunday. Oh the delight. And I made chocolate chip
Cookies, which I can have one a day if I do choose to.
My biggest downfall is being bored and not having a to do list, so I made a to do list! 📝
Anyone from the southern US? Or just me?
Yesterday we walked about 18,000 steps. I still Over indulged. Steps and activity do nothing of your food ain’t in line. I made my meal plan for the week. I’ll try to take a pic of it. Next goal is to log it al into MFP today.
— then, I literally have no excuse not to follow it.
Okay, off to walking today again. Temps ate mid-60’s. Super Excited about that.0 -
On the GS cookie 🍪 convo:
@theslightedgeforever - I ask the scout what her favorite one is and then, I buy that one, pay for it and tell her it’s my gift to her & it’s hers. They always love that!0 -
@trooworld pizza yummmmm!!!! my hubby and I have Pizza Sunday every week. We’ve made it our Sunday night thing, which makes it SO much easier for me to just have 2 slices and be done. Also, I know how much calories to allow for the other meals.0
-
Just breezes through the post. There was a lot. Lol. Definitely need to check in more often.
Been getting my 10,000 steps in everyday since Monday. Been going for 5km Walks daily. Hope to get one in this afternoon. -3C here today but a bit breezy.
Slowly should be warming up here in April. Snow is starting to melt so it’s very sloppy around.
Raspberry. Haven’t seen that flavour here. Only black cherry, lime, mango and pink grapefruit.
Hope everyone is doing well.0 -
@renaegry I always seem to post after you lol.
@Shexio that is awesome- buying the cookies. I bet the girl scouts love that. ….I think Teresa is from Georgia but don’t quote me on that.
@RetiredandLovingIt maybe they can do the GS cookies later in the year? Like the fall?
@cbabie I’m so glad you got some sleep!
@nighthazel01 I love shredding papers. I don’t know why. I bought a shredder from a neighbor last year and I have like way too many old papers, so I’ve slowly been shredding them. I just find it satisfying lol. …yeah Madmen. Yeah I’ve seen the whole thing. I like it, it’s a little bit slow but I mostly enjoyed it. The last couple of seasons dragged a little bit
@theslightedgeforever yeah I like me some Timothy Olyphant lol. I don’t think he has done much else after Justified. I’m on season 5 I think. I haven’t seen the last season yet. ….I think the thing with guilt/shame- I mean if you have over indulged with something, then all that can be done is to try to learn and do better for next time. Getting bogged down in shame and guilt after the fact isn’t always helpful. Maybe that’s what the book means? …..I like the list of delay items. I do that a lot- try to delay things.
@trooworld I found the group a little confusing at first too, but once you get the hang of it it’s good.
Well I just finished week 2 of the big shut down. Week 1 was pretty bad in terms of exercise, food etc. Week 2 was a little better. Starting week 3 today and hoping to be better still.
I went and did my stairs/hill routine today. It was pouring rain, but that meant there wasn’t a lot of people out. This afternoon I’m also going to try to do a strength workout although the stairs kind of kicked my butt.
On track for calories today.
I’m trying to think this will last until the end of April. I hope it’s better here after that.
I hope everyone takes care.

Here is my crafty lil planner for the week. It’s a 13” picture frame, behind it on paper is the week days etc. I wrote in dry erase marker on the glass and that wipes off with tissue.
😉❤️Tuesday will be “Nacho Normal Tuesday” and be Mexican dishes.
0 -
@Shexio, yup it’s my week three too and it looks like we have at least another four to go. So planning is so important, and your planner is awesome. It looks great and very functional.
@RetiredAndLovingIt, I was thinking about tornado season and how awful it could be for so many people who are already suffering. Yeah, I totally couldn’t be around an open bag of Peanut M&Ms!
@cbabie, I am glad that you DGGD is feeling better and that you both got some sleep!
@trooworld, pizza for breakfast is the best! But not so much when you are counting those points, huh? You will have a better day!
@theslightedgeforever, totally understand about not joining my group! There is NO way I could take on another group. Both my groups are VERY chatty!I did start the 20-second challenge but only remembered about half the time. I think putting a sticky where I can see it is a great idea! Hmm, that is an interesting quote and I think I agree with it. Yes, calories are there forever but the shame and guilt for me have often had a much longer effect on me. Learning to control my cravings has been a lifelong battle for me. Good tips on what to do when it strikes.
Good morning! Ugghhhh my heart dropped when I heard yesterday that we will be stuck in the house for the next month. It is what it is, and I am certainly praying that this virus will run its course and we can get back to our lives. The good news is that pastor did a MUCH better job with his online message yesterday morning and last night we did a test run on Zoom for our Bible study class. We had about 25 people show up which was much more than I thought it would be, so that was great. It was super fun to sit and laugh and talk with our friends again. One of the ladies does a Zoom Bible study with her daughter’s church and invited me to join them. So, I ordered my book last night and am excited to get started on that. This morning I’m going to Aldis and Walmart to do some shopping for the week. My April plan is to lose some weight!!

Hi all...bright & sunny here. I am going to get out for a walk today instead of the treadmill. Supposed to get in the 60's & I need some Vit D for immunity, lol.
@trooworld Sorry your back was giving you trouble. That can be so sore..I get it sometimes & dh has had numerous back surgeries. Not fun! He got an inversion table that helps him, but I didn't like it.
@Shexio I should take the planner idea from you. Keep thinking I need to get on more of a schedule with a lot of things..otherwise it's easy to say I'll do it tomorrow & then tomorrow never comes. When the kids were home, it was always pizza on Sat. night. In our small town, we only had 2 places to get it. I think they knew my voice & what I would order before I did it.
@TeresaW1020 Glad your online church going well. Ours seems to have it set up pretty well, altho yesterday for some reason it kept moving. Not sure if someone was bumping it or what. They had this local guy who is a professional singer do a couple of hymns. What a voice! At Christmas when he sang with the mike, it was so powerful that it almost hurt your ears. Managed to stay away from the m&ms..yesterday it was the Doritos that got me, lol.
@its_cleo Wow, impressed that you did the stairs in the rain. Used to like to walk in the rain, but not so much anymore.
@renaegry Good job getting your steps in!
Well, not much more for now. I did a little cleaning already today & later I think I will try to declutter the office. Not really too bad, just papers to put away & old magazines to get rid of & maybe shred some things.
I started week 3 on Saturday. Kinda glad they are saying another 4 weeks. I thought Easter was pushing it, but the 4 weeks might be enough to see a difference. On that other thread, I think the lady from Italy says they are on a lockdown for another 2 weeks at least.
Stay safe & have a great day.0 -
@Shexio I love that planner with the frame. Is it heavy though? Or do you normally have it on the wall.
@TeresaW1020 I’m so glad that zoom is working out for you. Yeah a month. I feel kind of depressed today, trying to shake out of it.
@trooworld sorry about your back! I hope it eases up with some rest.
@RetiredandLovingit I hope you enjoy your walk. I’m going to get a walk in also, but it’s kind of rainy here.
Well it seems like a lot of us are on week 3. I’m feeling sorry for myself today! I did my stair routine yesterday but my Achilles was really sore and by the end it was pretty painful. I’ve had probs with my Achille in the past, but not for a few years. It has been sore off and on for a couple months, but it just got worse.
So. I don’t know. This morning it was painful to walk, I tried some very light cardio videos, but basically anything that required lifting my foot had to be pretty gentle. I did some stretches and it’s slightly better.
I’m hoping I can nurse it back but I don’t know. The jogging/stairs I do really helps my sanity so I will be sorry to lose it. I can still walk though.
Bicep tendonitis also still hasn’t healed lol.
Getting old sucks!
On the positive side I was on track for calories yesterday. Trying to hang in today. Will go for a walk this aft and maybe get some of my taxes done and call it a day.

@trooworld Great job maintaining with all this craziness!
@RetiredandLovingIt I hope you enjoy your walk outside, its beautiful!
@TeresaW1020 I'm so glad everything is going well with moving your job online!
@Shexio Same here with the nutrition, it's hard being near the fridge all day!
@renaegry Definitely keep your eye out, it's by far the best flavor!
@cbabie I'm so glad you got some sleep in!!!
@nighthazel01 Congrats on the new laundry room, and keeping him busy
@theslightedgeforever We both do the cooking, which works out really well! We've still been doing low-carb so I'm not sure anyone will be super excited about my recipes lol. I made keto cabbage rolls, big mac salads, and creamy garlic shrimp for this week and they've all been excellent!
@its_cleo So sorry about the injury, those are always so frustrating!
Happy Monday everyone! I kind of went off the rails this weekend. Way too many low-carb treats and I feel pretty gross because of it. My plan is to stick with my healthy eating plan and weigh in Friday to get a baseline of if I've hurt my progress at all.
Rant time: I walk my dogs literally every day that it's above 20 degrees and not pouring rain. I'm usually the only person out walking my dog, which is okay because both of my dogs are adopted and leash reactive. But now...EVERYONE is walking their dogs. But, many people don't realize proper dog walking etiquette like announcing when you're coming up behind a person with a dog, picking up dog poop, and giving the person a 6ft berth (because SOCIAL DISTANCING) so it's been really frustrating to go on walks outside lately. I'm glad all these other dogs are getting walks, but I really miss my calm walks where I didn't have to worry about the actions of others.0 -
If I missed someone, I’m sorry and hello 👋 I hope this finds you happy and blessed with good health today.
@TeresaW1020 :
My heart dropped also. Doubtful I’ll get to see my family. It’s been 6 months. Our pastor is doing good too with online sermons.
@trooworld : today I’m back to high nutrient dense foods. Do you do any back strengthening exercise moves during your week to help your lower back? Thanks for liking my planner.
@RetiredAndLovingIt : be careful outside and enjoy. CNN lastnight was recommending face masks for all 😷. Feel free to make the planner. It was easy, you probably have a large picture frame with glass laying in a closet.
My “stay at home thoughts, week 3 Day 1 : I just hate missing 🐣 easter with my family. We were supposed to go home (14hr drive) for Thanksgiving- but they had a blizzard. We couldn’t for Christmas....and had hoped easter but...nope. feeling down about that. Cloudy here.... that doesn’t help.
@Its_cleo it’s a normal picture frame (11x13). I sit it on my kitchen countertop. You could hang it. You also could just get a plastic frame. I just reused one I had on hand. I feel a little down today also.... the 30 days...the estimated death numbers. Uggh. No rainbows 🌈 from the news.
— can you do yoga for a workout? Look up Jessica smith walking series on you tube.
@mseatson0777 it is a little crazy that people are walking. Shows you how much extra time we spendy doing shopping and other things.
Worked out today. ✅
Meals in MFP for today and Tuesday. 💪
On track also! I wanted to cheer but, I designed supper to have a 1/2 thick protein shake...super excited about that rn. So I’m patiently waiting! I want weight loss abs that’s how you do it. You don’t do it by telling yourself a lie that “it won’t matter!” Every bite matters! Maybe that’s my mantra for the week.
It matters.
All of it.
Have a good Monday!

@its_cleo I hope your body heals quickly so you can get back to your stairs. Yaaay for staying OP. You are making this a habit.
@mswatson0777 You were mentioning staying near the fridge. Mine is the whole kitchen. I haven't been this much in the kitchen in a long long time. Probably 8 years or more when my last one went to college. All these people at home is crashing my lifestyle. lol But since who knows when we get our "go back outside" cards, this is where I am. Play the hand that life deals you not the one you wish you had. I don't really do low carb but medium carb on my red days but I like to look at low carb recipes because it helps with my overall totals. So I can have my cake and eat it too.The Big Mac salad recipe sounded good.
@shexio I'm so sorry you will be missing Easter with your family. Especially because you had missed the other holidays. This year will certainly be different for all of us. I have a response card that goes along the same lines as it won't matter. It says....
EVERY DECISION MATTERS If I choose to make an exception, I’ll strengthen my giving-in muscle and weaken my resistance muscle, and it will get harder and harder to avoid exceptions in the future. If I decide to stay in control, I’ll strengthen my resistance muscle and weaken my giving-in muscle, and it will get easier and easier to make good choices in the future. Every time matters.

@nighthazel01 Hooray for your improved eating habits. Just as I was talking about...every little bit helps. Plus it's gradual so not such a shock to the body that it becomes normal.
@trooworld On that list I shared I think distraction yes, but also the attitude you go into it with. In the next part he talks about two kinds of thinking. All from Mini Habits for Weight Loss by Stephen Guise Yaaay for a walk.
Good: “Those cookies look delicious and I want one. I know they’re weight-gaining, so I’ll go through two mini challenges and take it from there.”
Bad: “Those cookies look delicious and I want one. Ugh. But I can’t have one now! I shouldn’t! I really want to lose this weight, but they look so good! I have to do something now! What strategies could I try to prevent myself from eating this?”
Bad thought: “I’m going to do this mini challenge in order to defeat this craving.”
He really stresses this point. The more you resist, the more resistance you will feel resistance.
@cbabie Yaaay for some good sleep. Sleep for you is more important than treadmill right now. So now that she's better you can try to start again on a new routine.
@retiredandlovingit Yaaay for treadmill walking. I have a carton of Whoppers that will remain unopened until May 1. I've made it through a month and a half I think now. My friend in TN had a tornado and now they are without power and internet. I'm like how do you get through stay at home orders with nothing. Books on Kindle......hopefully she has a good charge on it.
@shexio Great idea on the GS cookies. I like to buy two boxes of thin mints and stick them in my freezer and they have to last until the following year. Which they usually do unless dh gets into my stash. I always tell him we ration those. Go get other cookies if you want cookies but not those. Love your visual in the picture frame. @teresaw1020 and I are visual people. We love our spreadsheets. Color coded even better.
@renaegry Glad to see you doing well with your movement. How is the calories/points/carbs? whatever do you follow. lol Here's to a warmer April for you.
@its_cleo I hate shredding papers. I'm not patient enough so I just burn them all. lol Timothy Olyphant is in the Santa Clarita Diet with Drew Barrymore on Netflix.
@teresaw1020 Getting used to this new normal for a while has been tough. I inherited the glass half empty genes so I think they are feeding us piecemeal info. it's just this month and then oh I think we need to do another 4 weeks. So I really have to get my act in gear or 2020 is going to be a bust. And I was doing so well for 6 months. I need to find that girl and get her back. The last 6 weeks haven't gone so well.
Yellow Day- Stayed OP 147/164 Exercise-Rest Day (haven't they all been that lately?)
March goals- Drink 3 glasses of waterDeclutter

@TeresaW1020 It's great that you are finding ways to stay busy and involved even in isolation.
@RetiredAndLovingIt I'm glad we'll be in lockdown longer too, I'm in no hurry to get back to normal if we don't have this thing under control.
@trooworld- I'm struggling with food right now, I'm trying everyday to do better
@its_cleo - I hope your foot is feeling better soon, you are so committed to exercise
@mswatson0777 - I'm sure your dogs are happy, but I also prefer my walks when there are less people, especially right now.
@theslightedgeforever "EVERY DECISION MATTERS If I choose to make an exception I’ll strengthen my giving-in muscle and weaken my resistance muscle" My new motto for the week, it's replacing the motto I've used for the last ten years, which was " I'll start over tomorrow"
Went on two walks yesterday. My DH made a great dinner of stuffed squash with quinoa and chickpeas. I'm off to work, I have to commute from the computer room to my living room.

@nighthazel01, how’s going for you working from home? That dinner that your DH made sounds yummy!
@theslightedgeforever, Yes, I totally agree that we need to get our act in gear!! You were doing amazing!! I was 2 lbs. from Onderland and now it’s over 10 lbs! We can’t undo everything we accomplished last year. I agree that we don’t get all the news at once. Never have and never will.
@Shexio, I’m sorry that you will not be able to see your family. Hmm, I don’t know about wearing masks for everyone. I just watched where they say that it gives people a false sense of security when they wear their mask and that most people touch their faces even more often and they don’t practice the right way to put them on and take them off.
@mswatson0777, it makes me crazy when dog walkers don’t clean up after their dogs!!We have a lot of dog walkers in my neighborhood and so far everyone seems to be keeping their distance. OK, you know how to get back on track and you will. I got back in the habit of buying a dark chocolate bar with the plan of only eating one square with my afternoon coffee but I started to abuse it. So yesterday, I didn’t buy anymore. I just can’t be trusted!!
@its_cleo, ohhh that sucks about your Achilles acting up! I know that exercise is so important to your mental health. Hang in there and take care of your body!
Good morning! We are expecting rain today and that is great news because the pollen is HEAVY and everything is covered in yellow. Yesterday, I went out early to do grocery shopping, so the store wasn’t very crowded. Walmart had a guy sanitizing carts and I take my own Clorox wipes so I felt good about touching stuff. Still very weird to see so many wearing masks and gloves. I hope that works but I have my doubts. I had wanted to go to Lowes and maybe pick up some new flowers for my pots but the parking lot was packed. NO social distancing happening there for sure. OK, I’m off to work out and figure out what I want to do today. Probably clean out my closet and get my spring/summer clothes ready. Time might feel like it’s stopped but the Georgia heat won’t.

@Shexio So sorry you're going to miss your family for Easter. I hope you can plan a wonderful summer event to see them when this is over. Or maybe a Skype Easter dinner in the meantime?
@theslightedgeforever I find that I have a finite amount of decisions and willpower in a day. So I have to decide at the beginning of the day what I'm going to eat and track it. That way, there's no temptation. Also, this list has been my favorite low carb options so far: https://www.delish.com/cooking/g4798/easy-keto-diet-dinner-recipes/?utm_campaign=arb_pin_del_d_g4798&utm_medium=cpm&utm_source=pinterest_arb&pp=1
@nighthazel That stuffed squash sounds fabulous! I hope you're able to get out and enjoy the day today too.
@trooworld Right?! I do too, but all these people who never walk their dogs are just intensely frustrating (also, I feel bad for their dogs. This experience has made me realize how many dogs NEVER get walks).
@TeresaW1020 I'm hoping to hit up the home improvement store too but I've been worried about crowds. Hopefully this weekend early in the morning will be calmer. I had good luck at the grocery store at 10am.
Happy Tuesday all! I started today off with a 30 minute workout and I plan on trying to walk the dogs again over lunch, although I'm concerned about how it will go after yesterday. I may have to start switching my schedule around a bit to avoid the bulk of the crowds. I'm also finally back in the swing of grad school work, which is fantastic. My rough draft of my 20 page final paper is finally starting to come together. I'd love to finish a first draft in the next week so I can finally transition to house projects. I'm so jealous of all the people who've had time to do house stuff, since my life is still filled with work and grad school so I haven't got a ton of extra time than I did before all this went down.0 -
Morning all, Its been a whirlwind here with baby. She has roseola how fun. She has been super fussy, been sleeping in a chair, anything to make this work right now. Will be glad it's over when it is. Luckily we could do a telemed call and not have to take her into the Dr office. That was nice. I got on the treadmill for 25 min today, but I was so winded, not normal for me...so that tells me I am. WAY out of shape. I have to jump in the shower and get ready for work...yesterday my Computer kept "service interrupted" talk about frustrating. I actually had a client on the phone, but couldn't get into my computer to see her file and had to tell her to call back..LOL. What a day. I meant to reset modem and forgot, so I think I will do that after posting here.
I don't know if I will have time for personals now...so each and everyone of you. It's good to see you all posting exercises, food choices and encouragement to each other.
