Morning all, Yesterday was Sunday and I didn't go to church and it didn't feel like a Sunday. I did go for a walk with baby girl and my daughter. I also lost 2.8 lbs not sure how I did that. I didn't track yesterday either.

@trooworld I bet the foot massage was good, yes you do need to do more of that. I think that we don't take the time for ourselves as needed and in the end we pay for it...(mentally)

Hi all...just got back from OK last night.

@trooworld Ooh the foot massage sounds nice. I have had a few massages & enjoyed it, should do it more. Try to get back to tracking, I really think it helps usually. (I say usually because I was stuffing my face the whole time at dd's, & tracked at night...oops way over did the food!) Hope your work situation is worked out now.

@cbabie Congrats on the loss!! It's so easy to get dehydrated, I have been doing better at home with water, but don't think of it at dd's. Not sure why.

@theslightedgeforever wow...hope you have a great time in London. It is probably better to wait until back to start your new program. That is what I have in mind...we are hoping to take a trip to Sweden in June & don't think I should totally revamp my eating before then, but am trying to tweek it a little in the meantime. Before we went to dd's I was trying to eliminate dairy to see what it does, but impossible to do that there. So starting again this week, lol.

@TeresaW1020 Thinking of you & Joe & hope he starts feeling better. It has to be a very stressful time for both of you..I agree..keep taking it day by day. Do you have the yucky green-yellow pollen storm in GA yet? My dd used to hate that, really messed up her allergies!

@roz0810 Wow, great loss so far!!

Well, this last week was a bust diet wise. Don't know what it is, but it seems like I snack nonstop at dd's. & I forget to drink my water, too. We had plans to do fun things with gkids, but gs started coughing on Mon when he came from his dad's & coughed all week. A couple of Covid tests were negative, so think just a cold, or allergies. But didn't think we should take him anywhere with a cough. Then gd decided since it was spring break that she would stay up all night & sleep all day. (at least we figured she was staying up late, because what a grouch if we tried to get her up!) & it was the end of Girl Scout cookie sales, so she & dd were pretty busy with that, too! Gd wants to go to a 2 week horse camp at Girl Scout camp this summer, so dd was encouraging her to pursue sales, because it will help pay for part of it. She also had a goal to go with GS to Great Wolf Lodge & needed to sell 1700 boxes to do that. She sold 1912 boxes!! (on her own & by participating in cookie booths on the weekends) We did manage to see my bro & sil a couple of times, tho, so that was nice. We had birthday cake for gd on Sunday night which was really good! She turns 13 on the 28th. Oh well, still glad we went, even if frustrating at times. Both gkids are growing up..they are both almost as tall as me. (not saying much..I'm only 5'3") She is slowing down, but he is really shooting up!

Hope everyone has a great week. I think spring might be here..it is getting warmer, but I heard snow flurries on Wed. Boo!

@cbabie That's good you went for a walk. Wow, great loss! Congrats on that. Yes, that foot massage was excellent and just what I needed. Yes, you are right, in the end we do pay for the neglect of ourselves. My body was so achy and in knots. And mentally, the neglect of ME, it's not good.

@RetiredAndLovingIt I hope you had fun in OK. You should do more massages! I think you are right about tracking. But my week starts over tomorrow so I'm having a hard time tracking until then, I feel like, Why Bother? until tomorrow. Thanks, work is better. It's easy to get distracted around family and friends and not drink enough water. Wow, that's a lot of cookie boxes! Congrats to your GD! I love that it is spring now. I hope it doesn't snow there.

Hi all. I decided to try intermittent fasting again. This time, I am easing into it, last time when I tried it, I jumped straight into it and I think that is part of why I failed at it. I'll eat breakfast later this morning, maybe at 10:30. And then I'll eat lunch at noon. We'll see how it goes. I have been inspired by my husband and best friend who both do IF.

    Water yesterday: 12 oz

Afternoon, I went for a walk today, made a "apple bread". still cooking so not sure if it's good or not. LOL. It's supposed to be in the 90's this weekend.

@RetiredAndLovingIt Sounds like a typical week with family...fun and exhaustion. LOL. Congratulations to your gd..she exceeded her goals...wouldn't it be nice if we could do that? LOL

@trooworld Yes, I think intermittent fasting works, just can't always do it. Glad to have someone who inspires you.

@cbabie Apple bread SOUNDS DELICIOUS! Send me some lol. It's supposed to be in the 80s here, it was really nice yesterday. Yeah, I'll give IF a try again. Gotta try something.

Hi all. I am working from home today, it's not my usual work-from-home day but my dog is having surgery today to remove the collapsed eye. I'm very nervous about it. It's taking place down in Mexico. I lost 0.2 lbs this week, which is good because at least the scale is going down instead of up lol. I had a loss last week, too. Yay.

    Water yesterday: 75 oz!

Morning all, The bread came out kind of crumbly, but oh was it tasty. LOL I didn't track yesterday, so not really sure how I did.. I did get in a mile walk.

@trooworld Are you taking your dog to Mexico or does the place you take it to do that for you? So glad you have the opportunity to work from home when needed. YEA on the loss, yes it's going in the right direction.

@RetiredAndLovingIt The yellow pollen is just starting now. I covered up our patio furniture with plastic tarps but it’s still going to get everywhere and on everything. Wow that is a lot of cookies to sell! Good for your Gd for getting it done. Sounds like you are having a good time with the kids. Just don’t wake up a grouchy teenager!! :D

@cbabie Apple bread sounds delish! Wow 90 degrees already. Welcome to summer, huh? I know you hate being cold so will you enjoy the heat? :)

@trooword Ohh I hope everything goes well for your sweet girl? Who took her to Mexico? I know you will be anxious to get her back home with you. :# And like you, I’m going to go back to IF and see if it will help me. I was doing so well with not eating breakfast and then I started putting cream in my coffee and then it was a half scoop of protein powder and then I started snacking at night. Enough already! IF had really helped me in the past. I hope it will help you too. :)

Hello! Today, Joe went to the orthopedic doctor and his shoulder is slowly healing. They are recommending physical therapy. We also hooked him up on a heart monitor that the cardiologist ordered. He is supposed to wear it all the time for 30 days to see if his A-fib is an issue that needs treatment. We shall see! I also told Joe that I have got to get back to losing weight. I can’t believe how much I’ve gained! So, Monday is my official restart date. We are taking mom out for Mexican on Sunday, and I have some wine that needs finishing. I’ve already warned them both that our dinner menus won’t be exciting. Lots of lean protein and veggies are in their future. :)

@cbabie I'm glad your bread came out good. The rescue took her down to Mexico (thankfully). Thanks!

@TeresaW1020 Thank you. The rescue took her. I was so anxious! Thanks, I hope it helps us both (IF). I'm glad Joe's shoulder is healing okay. LOL "dinner menus won't be exciting"...I can relate to this, I have complaints about the dinner menus all the time lol.

Hi all. My pup's surgery went okay. We couldn't pick her up until about 6:30 and all day I didn't hear anything from the rescue until about 3:45 when I checked on her. I was so worried! She's got liquid medications and I hate those because she doesn't like the taste so we have to squirt it in her mouth and she throws a fit. I'm on my 3rd day of IF. I fast from about 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 a.m. I got a bit hungry yesterday but drank some sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon in it and that helped.

    Water yesterday: 75 oz!

Morning all, went for 2 walks with baby girl yesterday. Eating is a bite here, a bite here..didn't track..but not really hungry. I do like the IF I try to do that sometime through the week. LOL

@trooworld So glad puppy is good. I don't like liquid meds either..LOL. I like the time frame you are doing your IF...

@TeresaW1020 I hope DH does well with PT and it greatly improves his movement. My dad never did his PT...he always knew "best". LOL. I am glad you have given yourself some grace while you are getting into a new routine with DH. All things work together for good... :)

@cbabie Sounds like you are doing pretty good. Thanks re: the pup...yeah, I don't blame her for not liking the liquid meds! Yeah I decided that I wanted to be able to eat lunch and dinner so those were my hours of IF.

Hi all. Doing okay. Had a doctor's appt yesterday and talked about my weight. I asked about weight loss surgery but my doctor didn't really say no but she also didn't like the idea. She did like that I am doing IF, she said it really works for some people. But she also said "We know that eating a small amount every few hours works" so I don't really know what she wants me to do besides modify what I am doing somehow. She is giving me a referral to a doctor that manages weight loss medications and I might try one of those. I think I might be more discouraged than before my visit. I have another visit in May.

Afternoon all, I went on a short walk today, not much and not sure if I will go out anymore today. I am fighting depression and so tired of the emotional...LOL. I want to be level and balanced..but who says that's the best either. :). Watching Minions with baby girl...that's about as good as it gets today..LOL

@trooworld Yea, I think we put too much in the medical profession sometimes.. You almost want to say, thanks but no thanks. I think you know your body and your mindset. Maybe they can do something to add to your IF.. The thing I think about IF is we feel in control... :). Just listen to your body!

@trooworld I hope you don’t go the weight loss surgery route as it can be very hard for your body. And if that is something you are considering then I would encourage you to give IF a serious try and maybe even incorporate some protein sparing modified fasting. This is where you will pick one or two days a week and eat 500 to 800 calories of mostly lean protein with super low carb and fat. I plan to implement this next week to see if it will help jump-start my weight loss. I am not a fan of eating small meals every few hours. All this does is train your body to run on glucose instead of tapping into your body’s fat stores. I’ve basically been doing the small meal thing for the last few months, and it’s gotten me nothing but fatter. Soooo!!! But I get how frustrated you are. Believe me, I get it!! But we are strong women, and we can make this happen. Let’s do it! <3

@cbabie Sorry that you are fighting depression. I pray things will turn around for you. I love those Minions!

Good morning! It’s going to be a relaxing day where I don’t have anything to do. How awesome! I might even start a new jigsaw puzzle today. I’ve been missing them! Joe is still slowly healing. He took the heart monitor off on day one and refuses to deal with it. It’s his choice and I support him in whatever he wants to do. He has been so tired this week and has almost zero energy. I hate it for him, but we just got to get through this coming month and hope things will turn around once all the chemo is done. I’m gearing up to restart IF and my new eating plan, which will include two days of PSMF (what I told trooworld above). I have returned to black coffee and actually don’t mind it at all. OK, I’m going to do a leg workout and then decide what puzzle I’m going to do.

Morning all, not much to post about today. I am taking my health day by day, that includes my mental health. Baby girl and went out last night for a bike ride...she rides her bike and I walk..LOL

@TeresaW1020 You are right about DH, it's his choice and we can't make those for them. I pray he gets his strength back quickly and so happy to hear you are looking for a new puzzle. I saw an ad for one the other day on FB it was a "clear" puzzle...okay first off who would think of that and who then would try to work it..LOL. It's funny you talk about small meals..I went to a nutritionist for about a year and only gained weight...she monitored my protein, carbs, fat, etc... I paid a lot of money and time to just go get heavier. LOL

@cbabie It's so good to get out and walk. I'm glad you are doing it, even if it is a short time. Sorry about the depression, that's hard but hopefully the walking will help with that. Just listen to your body...that's good advice but my body just told me to eat 5 handfuls of salted peanuts lol! Seriously, that IS good advice. ;) Taking your health back day by day is a good plan.

@TeresaW1020 I'm just considering it right now, in the end, I don't think I'll do it because it would mean giving up pizza and pasta for the rest of my life and I don't think I can commit to that lol. I'll give IF a serious try. I don't know that I could eat just 500-800 cals but I'll consider it. We can do this!!! <3 I'm sorry about Joe's energy level. He must be sleeping all the time, huh? How many more chemo sessions? Enjoy your day!

Hi all. I had a one-night art show to attend last night, one of my pieces was in it. It was a late show: we had to stay until 10pm to pick up our art and I was so tired lol. I slept in this morning until 7:30 which is unheard of for me. Tonight, my husband and I are going to a "Paint and Sip" night. Even though we both know what we are doing with art, it will be fun to do art in a group setting. I'm not crazy about the idea of painting what everyone else is painting so I may "color outside the lines" lol.

Morning all, went for 2 short walks yesterday, really sat on the couch otherwise. I cried all day, but today I am going to go to church and come home and see what I can get done on my to do list.

@trooworld I laughed so hard at your color outside of the lines...that would be my sister...me I would always color inside the lines...even if I don't like it. I hope you enjoy your paint and sip night. I had a girlfriend who had surgery to lose weight in her early days. I have seen her struggle her whole life eating..if she ate too much her stomach would burst kind of thing. If you see her now, yes she is in her 60's and she is not skinny, not huge, but I would say plump? I would not like having my eating controlling my life per say. That's not to say you would have all that, but I think you're trying to find what works for you and I know you will.... I am learning, what can I eat that will make me fill full longer, what will get my mind off the "cake", etc. I am not doing great at it, but I am learning and most of it has to do with my emotions....I have to learn how to handle those. LOL

@cbabie Oh, my friend, I'm so sorry. I hope that whatever is making you cry gets better soon. Hugs to you! <3 LOL yeah I didn't do what the instructor wanted me to, I added vampire teeth to my lips lol! But they must have liked it because they held it up at the end of class and said, "Isn't this cool?" Yeah I don't think I will get WLS but I feel so desperate, I want a quick fix. I guess I'm seeing it as a quick fix and I don't know that it would be that easy, I know it ISN'T easy. Emotional eating is really hard. It's such a primal thing to reach for food to control emotions.

Hi all. The Paint and Sip night was fun. My husband and I kind of did our own thing but kind of followed what they were doing. I did not eat well yesterday. I will try again today. I have a bad headache this morning and need to eat so I can take Ibuprofen, I used to be able to take it on an empty stomach but the other day I took on an empty stomach and my stomach hurt so badly all day. Not doing that again!

Hi all. I ended up eating some crackers so I could take some migraine medication. It helped but the migraine medication makes me nauseous. It's a trade-off. I took a nap in the afternoon because I was so tired. I didn't do much else yesterday besides fold laundry and make dinner: I made Moo Goo Gai Pan, one of my favorite Chinese dishes. Have a good day.

I haven't weighed yet, so don't know where I am, but based on what I have been seeing all week, it probably is a gain. LOL

@trooworld So glad your migraine went away, but nausea is not cool either. I hope today is MUCH better!!!

So I'm back. I spent all day yesterday doing NOTHING but resting. I walked 115,000 steps while I was in London. The week before I hit 55,000 steps. I'll weigh in tomorrow as I want to get rid of more airplane bloat if I have it. We had alot of fun and saw so many things. My daughter is a machine and she packed in everything she could into our itinerary into 5 days.

So I tried to skim and see what you are up to. On this page:

@trooworld You want to do some kind of weight loss surgery? I vote no. Only cause I've seen a couple of people I know go through it Take smaller steps than what you are doing now. Don't try to be perfect in your eating plan. Focus on the meal you are eating.

@teresaw1020 It's hard to watch loved ones go through chemo and all. I don't think my mom ever got her energy back. It's just hard on the body depending on what kind you get and how much. She had both radiation and chemo. So you get back to your eating plan. Keep tweaking til you find something that works.

@cbabie I hope you find some sunshine in your life. You just need me to make you laugh.

I'm working on my April goals. My first quarter was awful.

@cbabie Sometimes we need to do NOTHING! Just enjoy the day. I hope you were able to do that. Thanks, yesterday was much better!

@theslightedgeforever You probably needed that rest day. Wow, that's a lot of steps! I'm glad you had a good time in London. I was/am thinking about WLS but I don't think I will seriously consider it. I just want a quick fix. But there are no quick fixes, I know WLS is hard, too. That's good advice, thank you. I look forward to hearing your April goals.

Hi all. I decided to try something that I've tried in the past: putting stickers on a calendar for water, exercise, and tracking. I ordered some new stickers from both Etsy and Amazon. Yesterday was pretty good. I IF until 11:15 am and then cut off my eating at 7:30 pm. I was hungry but it was tolerable thanks to drinking a lot of water.

@trooworld I've been doing NOTHING a couple of days now. I've been watching the Big Leap. I thought it would be corny but it ended with some feel goods. Sounds like you had a good day. Even if you did that 3 days a week it would be better than what you had been doing. Sometimes we think we have to do our a new program all or nothing. Just reducing food a little bit helps us lose some weight. Then as we get used to parts of a program we can extend the number of days we do it because we become used to it.

That's what I'm telling myself anyway. Now I just need to get restarted.

I weighed and lost 0.6 lbs since I weighed 11 days ago. So that's good that I didn't gain any weight on my trip.

Evening, sorry I thought I replied, but I think I saw something and got sick to my stomach and just left ....Funny how our emotions effect do much of our beings. I have done nothing that I can say is healthy or productive today. Well I did get some food at the store..but they were completely out of baby girls yogurt in the big container, I had to buy 4 small ones...what a price difference. LOL. Out of the blue one of my old girlfriends text me and wants to catch up. I had text her about 6 months ago and we were supposed to catch up and didn't. We are supposed to duo on Friday. I hope it comes about. We were very close when she lived here, but she moved out east to be with her kids..

@trooworld yea on doing stickers..I used to do stickers...but then baby girl wants my stickers too..so I am going to start a dry erase board with marker stickers..LOL.

@theslightedgeforever welcome back..glad you had fun, even if DD kept you right on schedule. LOL. WE all need little life breaks once in awhile.

Hi all. Just popping in to say hi 👋 TOM had me gain back nearly all my loss so now it's nearly gone I'm just focusing on tracking again. Not getting any exercise but it's ok. because in 2012 I lost 50lbs in 6 months without exercise so I know i can do it again through my eating! It's just a bonus for me at this point.

@theslightedgeforever That sounds wonderful to do nothing for days! I had to look up the Big Leap. I had never heard of it. That's true, I often think in all or nothing terms. I know that's bad. It's hard to restart after a break but not impossible. Did you eat scones with clotted cream while in London??? Congrats on the loss, that's impressive considering you were traveling.

@cbabie I hope it wasn't anything I wrote that made you sick to your stomach! I hope it works out to Duo with your friend. I recently reconnected with an old friend and am so glad. That's funny about your stickers and baby girl. :D

@roz0810 Hi! Sorry about the gain, our hormones can play havoc on us, can't they? Are you on Orlistat yet?

Hi all. I gained 0.4 lbs this week but I'm determined to do better this next week. I'm continuing with IF. I made it until 11:00 a.m. yesterday before my hunger got too intense and I ate a snack. I did a walking video yesterday morning. Not long but I did it.

@cbabie Yeah, I’ve seen that clear puzzle. NO thank you!! How nice that you are going to reconnect with an old friend. :)

@theslightedgeforever Welcome back! So glad you and your daughter had a good time in London. I’ve always wanted to go there. Maybe someday I will. Yeah, my first quarter has been a huge bust which is why I’m turning things around. You will too! ;)

@trooworld Love the sticker idea! Joe gave me a super nice planner that I wanted for Christmas and then I learned how to rely on Google calendar and stopped using the expensive planner. So, this week, I turned it into my Food, exercise, IF, and reflection journal. I think we both benefit from visual aids. :) Just stay determined and you will get the scale moving in the right direction. Are you also tracking WW points with IF?

    @roz0810 Yayy another IFer!! :grin:

Good morning! I was super happy to wake up this morning with the scale telling me that I’m down 4.2 lbs since restarting on Monday. Granted that is mostly water weight from eating out on Sunday and consuming wayyy too much chocolate the week before. Did I tell you that my mom bought me a case of my favorite dark chocolate? NOT the best idea but dang tasty while it lasted! :D Anyway, I’m working on growing my fasting muscle and readjusting my mindset, so I don't think I need to eat just because my stomach is growling or my head wants a snack. Last night I was watching my obsession Love it Blind and all those people do is drink and eat while they deal with their drama. But I got on my IF community forum and read a bunch of posts to gain strength. And this morning the scale rewarded me. Yayyy!! I’m off now to work out and then take a trip to Aldi to see if they have any chicken. Walmart had none! :s

@cbabie I'm glad you can catch up with an old friend. So start small and pick one thing you can do to eat healthy.

@roz0810 Think of all the things that exercise can do for you besides help you lose weight. Can you start small? That's what I had to do yesterday because I was not in the mood so I did my stretching. Today I will do my stretching and add 5-10 min of cardio. I just need to regain the habit. My body hurt less when I was faithfully going to the gym in the mornings plus doing my stretches. I can see how stopping my stretching when my daughter showed up made me relapse. It was only 2 weeks and I thought it really wouldn't matter. But it did.

@trooworld I had scones almost every day. I'll look for a pic. Yaaay on your walking video.

@teresaw1020 You're off to a fantastic start. Keep it up! I'm a visual aids person too.

So I'm ready for Q2. April-June. I just finished a book about project management and I decided to turn this health journey into a project. I followed all the steps that they listed and have things such as a risk assessment plan and estimated schedule. Even a table of contents. It looks quite professional. LOL

So now I'm going to do some reverse engineering and work backwards on these goals and actions steps. I listed all the risks that could cause me not to stay OP or exercise or drink my water. How can I reduce the risk? How can I lessen the impact? Now to just work the plan.

I forgot how how satisfied I can be with airplane portions like a Bento Box. So I'm looking here to give me some ideas

My number one task right now is to make a new Trello Board for Red/Yellow Days and decide which meal goes where and start creating some lists and cards. Easy to drag and drop. Plus I'll already have an easy shopping list made out.

So in keeping with the project management theme, you all will be my board members. :D My goal for the end of June is 10 lbs.

@roz0810 Thank you! I'm doing 16:8. Good luck this week, I hope you get to your goal for the week.

@TeresaW1020 That's great that you were able to repurpose the super nice planner. Yes, visual aids are key! You can get planner stickers on Etsy, btw. I am tracking WW points with IF. I don't want to eat everything in sight so I need to reign it in with tracking. :) Wow, what a great loss, congrats! LOL I would have eaten that chocolate, too! I've never seen Love is Blind but I think I saw a commercial for it. Oh dear, I hope that we aren't going to experience shortages again.

@theslightedgeforever I'd love to see a pic of a real scone! Wow, I'm impressed with your project management skills! I pack my lunch in a glass container just like that. I'm happy to be your board member! Good luck with your plan. You've got this!

Hi all. I listened to an audiobook that was really good, it's by WW's chief scientific officer, Gary Foster. It is called "The Shift: 7 Powerful Mindset Changes for Lasting Weight Loss" and is about mindset shifting. I highly recommend it. From Amazon: "The 7 Mindset Shifts include treating yourself with compassion, leaning into your strengths, appreciating the power of small steps (and more frequent rewards), finding your people, and truly relaxing into happiness and gratitude." I was inspired and downloaded a goal-setting app called "Goal Meter". So far, I have created 3 goals for April (see below).

I asked my husband to go for a hike or walk with me on Sunday. I am going to go for a walk or hike every Sunday, depending on if someone is coming with me or not. If I have company, we will hike. Otherwise, it's a walk. I went for a 21-minute walk on a break at work yesterday. It was nice. My knee started hurting later in the day yesterday and still kind of hurts today but I am going to try to do a walking video this morning if it doesn't hurt too bad.

I made it until my eating window yesterday, which was 11:15 am. Today it is 11:30 am - 7:30 pm. If I get hungry, I will go for a walk. That helped yesterday.

    Water yesterday: 75 oz

My phrase for the year: "Something needs to change…so I will take no crap and eat no crap!"

Morning all, yesterday was a bust for anything. Today I still have a slight headache from yesterday. I can't believe this is the last day of March...where oh where did the 1st quarter go? Baby Girl loves the Movie Home...animated and we watch it at least 3 times a day..ugh. She dances and sings to the music which is fun to watch. I don't even remember if I posted about my gain..I did gain a lb this past week, not surprising..sugar was my constant companion. LOL

@trooworld I love your pictures of your ap, thanks for sharing. You are rebranding yourself...LOL

@TeresaW1020 Moms..they know what we like and can't help themselves..LOL. happy dance on the weight loss and great job for pulling from your friends your support while watching your show.

@theslightedgeforever You are mom and dad combined in your creativity. I just want someone to tell me what to do and do it...LOL
