hey @theslightedgeforever If is going well. I have a rule not to eat after dinner and I normally eat my dinner pretty early. so my IF hours are usually 18:6 or some days 20:4. its working for me so I'll stick with it.

Also got a doctors call back on 14th March to discuss going back on Orlistat (diet pills). I was on them for 6 months in 2012 and lost 50lbs in that time so hopefully I can get them again!

    3/2 266
    3/3 265.2
    3/4 263.4

Woop woop. Going in the right direction!

@theslightedgeforever Uh oh, time to get back to things. That recipe: yes, that's a lot of peanut butter. You could probably use a little less. Well as far as the nutritional info, as it is written (without the chickpeas or sweet potato): 434 cals, 29.6 g fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 825.9 mg sodium (yikes!), 32.3 g carbs, 11.4 g fiber, 12.8 g sugar, 17.6 g protein. This may not be the recipe for you. Good idea about the burrito. Exercise: I've exercised 3 times since last Sunday...2 walks and one Leslie Sansone Walk at Home video. I looked up Lauren.Mae on Instagram and it's a private account...do you think I had the right account? I didn't ask to follow because I wasn't sure.

@roz0810 Oh interesting about Orlistat. Let us know how that goes! Congrats on the loss, woot woot!

Hello all. I'm glad I'm not the only one on the board anymore lol. It was becoming like a diary :D . I'm doing "okay". I am tracking (somewhat) and not snacking. I am going to pretrack my week after this so that I can see if I need to substitute any recipes before I go to get groceries. I have a low-key day other than that, will probably do artwork.

@trooworld I spelled it wrong. Laurin.mae Try that. Yes, I need to turn this around. Summer will be here before I know it. Thanks for the nutrition info.

Hi all... I am still here, guess I have just been reading posts, but not interacting. Sorry!! Crazy weather here lately, 70 one day, 30 the next, lol, & today tornado watches & warnings. (not around here right now, tho, thank goodness)

@TeresaW1020 Happy late birthday!! Hope dh doing well. I know maintaining is not what you want, but with all you have going on, it is great. I'm sure it will get better when the stress dies down.

@trooworld Sorry you have been alone here. I hope Daisy's surgery goes well when it is done. (did I ever tell you our second to the last dog was Daisy & the last one was Sadie. (aren't we original? lol) I hope you are enjoying doing your art work, I need to be doing something creative, but just haven't been in the mood.

@theslightedgeforever Hope you enjoy your time with your daughter. We are going to OK in a week to help keep gkids occupied during spring break, since dd still working from home. It is also to celebrate gd's birthday. She turns 13 on the 28th. Hopefully we will be able to see my bro & sil a few times, too. I need my mojo back, too.

@roz0810 Keep going with the IF..not sure how you can do 20hrs tho! I use a Fitbit, too, and really try to get at least 10,000 steps. I am trying to make a habit of doing the treadmill for at least 30 minutes (with warm up & cool down extra) every morning first thing before breakfast, and now I need to get back down to treadmill in a little while to finish up my steps because I am not quite to my 10,000.

@dnarcisso I am going to have to check out that app, too. Hope you have had a great vacation!

I have been walking, and I always do a good job with tracking (but don't do a good job staying in my calories, lol). I guess at least it lets me know why I am not losing. I put my calorie goal back to lose 1# and so even with going over, I seem to be s-l-o-w-l-y losing a little. I get a little discouraged reading about people weighing more than me being able to wear smaller clothes than me, but am keeping with it and trying to do more exercise other than walking, which should eventually help. I hope so...I have a lot of clothes in smaller sizes that I would like to wear. If not, I should get rid of them, but just can't give up that hope! :) We are planning a big trip in June & I have another class reunion this year..that should be incentive, lol.

I have had to take gd to PT a few times lately. Boy, does he ever work her!! I keep thinking if I could remember what they do, it would probably be good for my hips, too, lol. She is doing great & recovering nicely from her surgery. Hopefully she will be ready for Show Choir tryouts in May.

Well, nothing more here. I am SO ready for spring & warmer weather!! Of course, then I will probably complain it is too hot! Have a great weekend!!

@RetiredAndLovingIt thank you. it's actually easy for me to do 20 hours, idk how! Once last week I did 24 hours fast and just ate all my calories in one meal (OMAD). Would you like to add me on fitbit? my current goal is 5k steps a day as I don't work, I'm indoors all day except when I go for my walk so it's a struggle sometimes but it's better than nothing!

@theslightedgeforever Okay I found her. I watched that video and it is inspiring me to take the assessment again, getting rid of seafood as a freebie since I don't eat seafood every day. I need more daily points. I'm sure you know what to do, you give us such great advice! You've got this. Okay, I re-did the assessment and I would only gain 1 pt a day if I got rid of seafood so that's not worth it to me because I do eat seafood usually two days a week.

@RetiredAndLovingIt Hi nice to see you! Thank you! You didn't tell me about your Daisy and Sadie, :) . I am enjoying doing my artwork, it is so good for the soul, you should do something creative! Sorry about the weather fluctuations. That must make it hard to plan. You have good reasons to lose weight, you can do this. I'm glad GD is doing well after her surgery. It's been cold here the past two days and I'm ready for warmer weather as well!

@roz0810 You continue to go down, down, down...well done!

Hi all. I had a pretty good day yesterday, I didn't do too much but it was nice. Today, I have to fold laundry and get ready for the workweek. :( I really want to just chill out.

@retiredandlovingit At least you are losing slowly. Maybe start leaving a couple of bites on your plate of your meals. That way you aren't really giving up any foods or changing what you eat, just a bit less.

@roz0810 You're doing great. Keep going. I tried to find you on fitbit but couldn't. I don't really pay attention anymore to my steps but I use it for my calories burned in my exercise and my zone minutes. Plus it's a great timer. LOL

@trooworld I'm glad you found the IG lady. Sorry it didn't help much.

Well, Joe just can’t get enough of the hospital stays! He passed out Thursday morning and fractured his left humerus bone. He will be in a sling for two weeks and then PT after that. The attending doctor feels that the cause of Joe's fainting spells is something called Orthostatic Hypotension. Which means that his blood pressure drops when he stands up and that makes him dizzy. The doctor is giving him a new med that is supposed to help regulate his BP. I’m praying it works because my nerves can’t handle much more drama from this man. I think he is still on schedule to get his second chemo treatment next Friday, but I will call the oncologist tomorrow to make sure. Of course, my diet and exercise went out the window but tomorrow I’m getting back on the wagon. I have restarted the Data Driven Fasting challenge that started this weekend and I’m going to really work on eating a high protein, low carb and fat diet. Plus keep up with my workouts. The good news is that we aren’t going to the church’s potluck tonight. I’m saving a ton of calories! :D

@theslightedgeforever No, it did help, it got me thinking. And I have someone new to follow! :D

@TeresaW1020 Oh no! Oh gosh, I'm so sorry Teresa. I hope the new medication can help. Well, that is good that you aren't going to the potluck, that would probably have been a minefield of goodies. Hugs to you and Joe.

    @roz0810 I'm sure, that's great!

Hi all. Well, the idea of getting ready for the week went completely out the window and all I did was make art. :D I'm going to pay for my indulgences...now I'll have to dig through the clean clothes to find what I want to wear and that's going to be frustrating.

@teresaw1020 Oh Teresa so sorry. I know how stressful that can be. Prayers for Joe. So just keep restarting as many times as need be.

@roz0810 I sent you a friend request on Fitbit. I couldn't find you under username but found you using @trooworld 's Friends. down is good. I'm all about balance on food. I want to lose weight eating the same foods I will eating to maintain it. Problem for me right now is portion control. So I'm working on that.

@trooworld So try again on getting ready for the week. Have you read the book Atomic Habits by James Clear?

So my dd is here now for a couple of weeks. We surprised her dad. She's a daddy's girl. But she's always been my foodie buddy. So I'm working on my mindset to quit being a buddy and now be a role model for her. Although she brought me some Garrett's popcorn from Chicago (one of my favorites) and a bag of Triple Mix popcorn from a local place where she lives. I exercised this a.m. and got back into my morning routine.

@theslightedgeforever I did end up folding most of my laundry. I have read that book. It's pretty good. That's great your DD is visiting! I'm glad you got back into your morning routine and exercised. You are probably a pretty good role model, I think.

Hi all. I had a 2 lb gain this week. Not what I wanted but what I expected. My mind has been elsewhere, it's been on painting and marketing my artwork.

Afternoon all, I am not even going to try to respond to all the post. This is why I never took vacations..I hated coming back to work with all the work still there. LOL. I am trying to get my head in a good place, so that I can get my body in a good place. It's been so stinking cold here, I have not wanted to do anything and mostly I have not. I am reading more, trying to fill my head with good things. I am sure that most of you at one or more times in your life, say I give up, I don't care anymore, I want peace and joy, not stress and anxiety. I have so many things that I could say I give up, I can't take it anymore, I wish I would just die already. However, I have too many praying friends, a merciful God and a sister LOL. I also have so many things I can be grateful for and see how God has kept me. As I write this, I am listening to a 3 1/2 year old babbling on while my DH unloads the dishwasher. I wish she would not have to grow up and could just stay the bundle of joy that she is. She has so much music in her...today i caught her playing drums with my sharpies. LOL. ANY music that she hears her body just moves, it goes with the flow of the music. I pray she keeps that always.

So me, I gained 2 lbs last week, I too expected it..don't want it, but got it. LOL. I have done no tracking or movement since last Wed. so what did I expect..the calories and fat were going to go hide? LOL.

I am wanting to do a blog, I am trying to learn how to do that. I think it's something I have always wanted or known I should be doing. So if I am not playing with my 3 year old, reading, eating, cleaning, scrolling, I should be learning..LOL

@TeresaW1020 I did read your post about your DH, I am praying for you guys. Yes it's a very stressful thing to watch a loved one go through those things. I pray peace over you.

@trooworld Thanks to you an my sister for keeping the board open to those who come here for encouragement!!

To all the others that have posted while I took time off, Thank you for coming in and sharing.

@cbabie I'm glad you've been working on yourself why you've been on "vacation". Yes, I've given up quite a few times due to stress. Your sister would never let you give up, she would troll you in real life lol. Baby girl sounds like she will be a musician when she grows up! I'm glad you are back. <3<3<3

Hi all. It's been cold here, too, which makes ME not want to do anything. I just hate taking the dog out in this cold, 43F in the morning. It's not good for the dog or me lol. We had some healthy salmon last night with some steamed broccoli and roasted sweet potatoes.

Morning, I am here and still working on me...LOL. I ate cake last night..so fat grams were over, but I enjoyed every bite. However, the good is that I am tracking. I went for a short walk with baby girl this morning while she rode her "big" bike. LOL. We always pick flowers out of the yard that is on the way of the walk we take. I usually feel bad for taking the flowers, my daughter says they are weeds, I say flowers. LOL. Well the lady that lives there was out working in her yard and I asked if we could pick a flower (orange and yellow) she said take whatever you want. Baby girl said thank you and was so excited..the lady smiled. So Baby Girl blessed her morning! I will continue this fight for my health, mind, body and spirit! May someone bless you today!

@trooworld, I can't eat salmon...too fishy for me. but I would have loved to have some of those roasted sweet potatoes. How do you cook them?

@cbabie I'm glad you were able to enjoy your cake. I love cake! And yay for tracking. That's so cute about the flowers. Makes ME smile. That's funny about salmon, I am that way about some fish but I think salmon isn't fishy lol. My husband cooked the sweet potatoes but you just cube them up and toss them in a little olive oil and salt and pepper and put them on a roasting sheet. Roast at about 400 for around 30 minutes, depending on the size of your cubes. Delicious!

Hi all. Oh gosh, I messed up yesterday: I bought and ate a bag of Doritos with french onion dip. I don't mean the single-serving size bag, I mean the one that is supposed to be shared. I threw the evidence away before my husband got home, I didn't want him to know. I feel guilty. Today will be better.

@trooworld You know me too well. I would troll my sister forever. But glad to see she’s back.

@cbabie. So nice to see you on here and that you are riding your bike and getting sunshine.

Seems a lot of us are stuck right now and heading the wrong direction so what one thing can you do today to head the other way? Good habits don’t make themselves. Just doing one right thing over and over again.

I’m reconsidering my carb cycling plan and combining it with a whole food plant based program. I’ll have to come up with different values and different phases like I have now So that’s where my mind is. I’ll keep working out the details.

Morning all, Today my routine was ...well I didn't have one and am just starting my day and it's 11:45. LOL. I didn't eat cake last night even those it's sitting right here in front of me. :) I did track and I was okay LOL. I haven't walked yet today, but don't know that I will have time.

@trooworld I will have to try the sweet potatoes.. I LOVE them. Yum. you got this, don't feel guilty, feel good that you knew you it wasn't your best choice, but we all do and that's why it's called a journey!! You are and have been staying true to the course of health.

Hi all. I've hit my highest weight again, and higher than before... seriously need to get back on it. Starting fresh from today. I can't mess up again!! I have a doctors call back on Monday to discuss starting Orlistat again and I'm hoping I have that chance again. Back in 2012 I lost 50lbs with Orlistat in 6 months. Will keep you posted!

@theslightedgeforever LOL! I'm glad to see she's back, too. One thing I can do? I can eat a healthy breakfast. Sounds like you are making a pretty major switch but it sounds good. Good luck, let us know what you decide.

@cbabie That's good you resisted the cake, I don't think I could have lol. I love sweet potatoes, too. Thanks for your support, I appreciate it.

@roz0810 I'm so sorry. I know that feeling, I've been there before. Good luck with the Orlistat. Yes, please let us know.

Hi all. I have such a busy day today. I have a Zoom meeting with other artists this morning and I have to take my husband to see his brother and then I have an art opening tonight featuring one of my pieces. Some time in between I have to find time to eat and paint a painting for submission next week! I can't say I ate much better yesterday but it is what it is. Today is a new day and another chance to do better.

@cbabie I just saw a recipe for sweet potato lasagna. Yummy.

@roz0810 While you are waiting to hear back from the dr, what little things can you do this weekend to help the scale go downward?

@trooworld I'm not doing WFPB 100%. I don't think I could ever do that. Just like low carb for me is not the answer. But I was real successful on carb cycling. So I'll be doing this the same way. Cycling through the green, yellow, and red foods. I'll use the same schedule I've been doing but just start adding in the foods little by little. Since right now I have no idea what the carbs will be like so I'll just be counting calories and staying within the calorie range that I'm doing right now. Well, supposed to be. LOL That actually works.

Morning all, I over ate yesterday, had that sliver of cake, but didn't eat the pizza we ordered. LOL. I ran all day yesterday and finally got to sit at about 8:30 PM, only to be kept up all night with baby girl. She had fallen asleep about 6pm and woke up at 9pm ready to play..UGH... I figure each day is a new day to fix what I didn't take care of yesterday, but continue to make baby steps and it really does end up being a leap. Like just now, I REALLY wanted PB, but know that I might have a piece of left over pizza, so I instead ate a bagel, lower in fat, but yes high in carbs. Again its choices and knowing what I am willing to negotiate with. LOL

@theslightedgeforever I will continue on trying to control my impulses..LOL. I am sure you will figure this out and be a great coach for all the tweaking you have done to other programs..LOL

@trooworld You are so busy...but it sounds like a fun busy for the most part. I am so glad you have the artist outlet. creativity is so healthy for us mentally and physically. You are on this journey for you!!!

@theslightedgeforever you have done really well with carb cycling so going back to what you know works is a good idea. ;)

@trooworld How exciting that another one of your art pieces is being exhibited! Have fun at the opening! :)

Hello! Thought I would drop in since I’m in between projects. I feel like I am constantly chasing my to-do lists. Today has been a pretty good day of getting a lot of little things done. DH had his second chemo treatment yesterday and so far he is just feeling really tired. I tucked him earlier and right now he is asleep on the sofa with golf playing on the TV. Golf would put me to sleep too! I did work out this morning and my eating has been good today. I did my menu for next week and plan to really buckle down. I need to get back to what I know works so I can fit back into my jeans! :#

@theslightedgeforever That sounds like a nice, flexible plan. I wish you success on it! <3

@cbabie Wow, resisting pizza? You are my hero! <3 Oh dear about baby girl. Sounds like you are making healthier decisions. I like the idea of trade-offs. I am so busy lol. Thank you, I'm glad I have the artist outlet, too. :)

@TeresaW1020 Thank you! I'm glad Joe's 2nd appt went okay. Golf would put me to sleep as well lol...unless it's the movie Caddyshack! :D

Hi all. The art opening was kind of boring. It was a small place so there wasn't a lot of art to look at. One of my friends showed up so we walked around looking at the art but we left after that. I woke up with a migraine which is bad because we are supposed to clean the house, I have a friend coming to visit tomorrow just for a few hours. I'm going to have to push through and help my DH anyway.

Hi all..beautiful sunny day..supposed to be warmer. Yay! I am ready for spring!

@cbabie Good job making better choices. I don’t think I could’ve passed up pizza. Baby girl sounds like she keeps you busy.

@TeresaW1020 Glad your dh is handling his treatments well. That has to be some relief for you. You are determined, I’m sure you’ll be back on plan & losing again in no time.

@Trooworld Sorry the art show wasn’t quite what you expected & too bad about the migraine! I used to get them & didn’t function well at all. Hope you have a good time with your visitor.

@roz0810 Good luck getting the Orlistat if that’s what you want to do. Sorry, I rarely interact with anyone on Fitbit..I am only friends with dh, daughters, & cousin & not really sure how that came to be. Don’t even know if I have a user name, etc. I mainly just use it for my own step info, lol.

@theslightedgeforever Good luck with WFPB. I am leaning more that way, but not sure I can fully commit either. I’m not sure I am strong enough when I don’t think DH would ever get committed to it, even tho he is complaining about gaining weight & would like to get off his statin. A lady I follow says it’s alright if they aren’t doing it..you should do it alone, because you will be alone if you need heart surgery, etc. Right now trying to give up dairy, not being real consistent because not at home & absentmindedly eating it like putting milk on my cereal this am. I am trying to add more fruits & veggies tho.

Going to see bro & sil in a bit, then will be trying to keep the gkids occupied this week for spring break while dd works from home. They will probably sit on electronics & ignore us tho, lol.

@cbabie It's all in the little choices you make You could have chosen cake and pizza but you didn't. You could have had a normal size piece but you didn't. Celebrate your wins.

@teresaw1020 I'm not doing as well on carb cycling as I did in the past. Plus I need more f&v in my life. I would sit and contemplate not eating a banana because of the carbs. Or think shoot, if I eat an apple it will put me over. Then the thoughts come if I'm going to go over I might as well eat something I really enjoy and it won't be an apple. That's not healthy thinking. So this way, I'm doing something better for my body I hope. Yaaay on your workout and eating

@trooworld Bummer about the art opening. Sorry about the migraine. How was your eating today?

@retiredandlovingit This is the program I'm going to follow and tweak. https://forksoverknives.com/what-to-eat/
One of the things they talk about is adding before you subtract.

So I've almost completed a one week plan for my new plan. One of the things is eating things I wouldn't normally eat for breakfast. I'm starting with one day a week. It was a Mexican Hash recipe. If I want to be different, I have to do different, right?

I will also be using the Daily Dozen app to help me transistion. All of this is in the planning stages because having my dd here makes it harder. Plus we are going on a trip next Sunday so this looks like it will begin in April.

Right now I'm roasting marshmallows with her making s'mores and was thinking about my plan. I told her next year I can roast sweet potato chunks. Cut the very tip of a marshmallow off and attach it to the sweet potato on the skewer. It will melt on the sweet potato. But much more healthy. At least that's how I think it's going to work in my mind.

Morning all, not much to report. I went over in all things yesterday...but I did get a bike ride and walk in. LOL

@trooworld , I hope you head feels better. Even if you don't clean...enjoy your company

@theslightedgeforever you're right. I am such an all or nothing and a type a personality, that I forget the little things matter sometimes. Thank you.

@RetiredAndLovingIt LOL you are probably right about the kids, but the important thing is all will remember you were there and that counts.

@theslightedgeforever I watched the Forks Over Knives documentary & have been reading the success stories on the website for inspiration. Breakfast at home is always OK, planning to gradually cut back on meat & add more veggies & fruit other meals & snacks. I love baked potatoes & roasted sweet potatoes. Do you follow Dr. McDougall, Dr Barnard, or Chef AJ? I also follow Esther’s Nutritional Journey on Facebook…she uses an Instant pot a lot, eats very simply, & shows pictures of everything she eats. Makes it look so easy & doable, lol, but wonder if I will need more “recipe” stuff to follow through. Right now I am also trying to cut out dairy.
