Hi all. I went to visit my BIL for the first time since he went into the hospital, he's now at a care facility where he can have more than one guest at a time. It was really hard seeing him that way, loss of a lot of his functions. I think this may have played into things when my husband asked if I wanted to skip cooking and get a pizza. I said yes. I know it was a mistake but what's done is done. I didn't have time to do a walking video, either. This morning, I am going on another hike with the rescue dogs. It should be fun although it is supposed to get hot. Yesterday, it was 93F!
Water yesterday: 25 oz

@teresaw1020 Take care. Being a caregiver can be really hard. Plus you have your mom there too. I do hope when hubby is resting you find some time to rest yourself. Go for a walk or whatever me time you need.
@trooworld Not even frosted sugar cookies will get me to eat them. I wonder where that started. Well actually probably having them around could be a good thing versus other types of cookies as I would maybe take half and then nothing else. Same for no bake cookies. I don't like those either. PB cookies. Nope. Unless it has a big hersheys kiss in the middle. But those with the fork marks. Yaaay for a stellar day you had. That was great that you cooked instead of getting a pizza. Husbands can be our worst enemies. Yes I know the next day you had pizza but celebrate your wins.
@cbabie Potato buns are good. How about half a bun next time? Another good way is take take the top half and slice it in half so you have a top and bottom.
I've spent the last 2 days celebrating my bday. At least I tracked it all this time. Progress from last year.
But time to get back to reality

@theslightedgeforever Hahaha! I guess you are lucky that you don't like those. Less temptation if you are around them. Thank you and yes, I should celebrate my wins! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Good job tracking! Reality? Who needs reality? LOL
Hello all. Yesterday I walked/hiked with the rescue dogs with my friend. It was nice. I also put away my clothes that had piled on my chair in the bedroom. By the time I got done with that, I realized I didn't have the energy to cook. We ordered sushi. I guess that's better than pizza. They are supposed to start work on one of our windows today. I have no idea how long it will take, probably several days. But I'm glad it is getting done. The other window, we are still waiting on the upstairs neighbors to agree to cooperate.

Afternoon all, I am here, just been crazy busy with ubering..LOL. I lost the .2 and now I have to get to reality..LOL. I want to lose what I had gotten down to with covid..It's still hot here...and allergies are killing me.
I have to run will try to catch up on the post later.0 -
@trooworld Yaaay on getting in a hike. That helps when the food really doesn't go as planned. Thanks for the bday wishes. I was imagining that was a cake. Wouldn't that be neat? A different flavor for each book.

@cbabie Congrats on the scale going down instead of up. It's hot here, too. Sorry about your allergies.
@theslightedgeforever That would be neat to have a cake like that.
Hi all. I sucked at water consumption yesterday. I need to do better. My husband made lasagna from scratch yesterday: the pasta was handmade, the sauce from plum tomatoes...he really went all out and it was delicious. I made a conscious decision to not bring some of it to work today. Part of it is it was way too many points but the other part is that it will make me sleepy at work.

@theslightedgeforever Happy belated birthday!!
@cbabie Maybe I’m having allergies and not a cold. It is almost spring, and the daffodils are blooming!!
@trooworld I am sure that it's hard to see your BIL in that kind of condition so understandable that you turned to comfort food. That has been my struggle for months now. And at least you are walking those dogs so hopefully that will help with the extra calories. Yum on the homemade lasagna!! What I wouldn't give for a big plate of that!!!
Hello everyone! Hubby is doing well and got his port put in this morning and is just a little sore right now. I manage to catch a cold but tested negative, which is good, but I still feel like crap. I have a good friend who tested positive and has zero symptoms. We joked on the phone that our tests must have gotten switched. Right now I’m just trying to juggle home and work life. I’ve been learning my husband's bookkeeping system and fixing it, so I understand what is going on. He had been messing up for a few months and not wanting to tell me. Yeah, we had a come to Jesus moment about honesty. My eating has been so so and I’ve not worked out in over a week. One day at a time is my motto!

Well didn’t have a good eating day at all. Ate my stress away but then cleaned floors and bathroom when I got home so I guess that balanced it out.0
-
@TeresaW1020 Yes, it is. The lasagna was so good! I'm glad the port got put in with little pain. Sorry about the cold. I guess it's good that you are taking over the books for home, too. Poor Joe, I'm sure he really wanted to tell you. One day at a time is a good motto. Hugs.
@gemwolf110 Sorry about the stress. Cleaning is definitely good exercise!
Hi all. I gained 2 lbs this week, going in the wrong direction. I know where I went wrong so I have an opportunity to fix it for this week. I'm so sick of gaining. My water intake yesterday was awful too. I must do better.

Morning all, This week has been a struggle with emotions...why oh why do we have emotions.. (well the bad ones). LOL. It seems we all struggle with something or someone in our lives. My job is to learn how to handle and when I don't handle well, don't beat myself up..I am learning that is just plain abuse. So it's better to look at how the emotions took over, then look at can you change your behavior or change what caused the emotion? Then, ask God to help you find the good and move on. Keep taking baby steps in the right direction and you will end up at your destination, no matter how long you travel. LOL
I got a new samsung watch..(didn't really want it). but I have been wearing my fitbit and the samsung..I still like my fitbit..the only real difference I see is the samsung has more measuring tools than my fitbit. Like body fat...(no we won't be telling what that says). LOL
@trooworld I am so glad you got to see your BIL and sorry the comfort food took over, but its what we need sometimes. I am learning I never addresses my grief and that is NOT good..So I know you are going to turn your boat around, you are very mindful of what causes the gain/loss and like you say Change is your motto..LOL. You have handled things in a positive manner and that is great.
@TeresaW1020 I remember my mom's port..hopefully DH will be feeling less pain quickly. You have a lot on you, so take deep breaths and the cold is just a part of the process...I know when my body gets sick it's because I didn't get enough rest and I have let my immune system get weak..so keep taking care of you and your family and you will soon see the benefits.. LOL. prayers to you guys..
@gemwolf110 Yes cleaning is an activity!!! I always feel the burn in my arms when wiping my counters off. LOL
Cbabie0 -
@trooworld Yaaay on your good choice with the lasagna. Can you tie in your water with an activity? Something you will do everyday. So if you are doing that you are also drinking a cup of water. I need to change mine because I have one that says if I'm in the kitchen cooking then I'm having some water. Dh ordered delivery yesterday so guess who didn't drink water. I went out for breakfast this morning so no kitchen and no water. Maybe the 2 lbs is lack of water. Is your body holding on to some?
@teresaw1020 thank you. You were talking to @trooworld about watching loved ones struggle with health and turning to food for comfort. I gained 15 lbs when my mom was first diagnosed with cancer. It didn't help one bit with her cancer just made me unhealthier. So easy to do though. What is your comfort plan for the upcoming days? What other things comfort you? I guess best thing is not keep a lot of junk easy to grab in the house. Although having said that, I ate a lot of toast in those days. There's always bread and butter in my house. Come here and talk to us if you need to. Come to Jesus moment. LOL Hope you feel better.
@gemwolf110 Well sorry about your day. Good news is you have clean floors. LOL Imagine if you had just sat and watched Netflix.

Hi everyone. I have brought a fitbit today, just arrived. Anyone want to add me on there, feel free to let me know your username 😊 hope you are all well!1

Tell ya day after cleaning for 2 hours I’m aching. I also did slip and fall on ice the day before so extra stiff today. And my Fitbit username is misshappy341
-
@cbabie Yes, we all do struggle with something. The dealing with it is the hard part. Baby steps are the way to go. I've been curious about the Samsung watch. I do like my FitBit Sense for the most part. I wish they didn't charge extra for more information. Thanks re: BIL. Yes, change is my motto so something WILL change!
@theslightedgeforever I do fine when I am at home. Or at least better. But when I am at work, I get busy and neglect water. I'm sure I'm holding water, too: we ate out 4 times last week! There has to be some sodium bloat from that. But also, over the points allotment.
@roz0810 Congrats on the new FitBit! I would like to add you but be warned: I don't do any challenges lol. My username is LibraryGoddess619.
@gemwolf110 Yikes, maybe soak in a hot Epsom salts bath?
Hi all. I did better yesterday, I stuck to my eating plan and only used 1 weekly point. Tonight, we are eating Buddha Bowls, which is a veggie-forward vegetarian dish. It's a lot of work so I'd better make some of it ahead of time. Work was really busy yesterday and I left my desk a mess, which is something I never do. It's really cold here lately. It went from really hot to really cold, go figure. Cold = high of 60F but currently 48F.

Hi all. Well, I made the Buddha Bowl for dinner and it was good and healthy. My husband's cholesterol is a little high and with my blood pressure being on the higher side, I'm going to try to schedule healthier recipes. Today's recipe was already planned and bought before I made the decision to get healthier stuff. Dinner is Instant Pot Spicy Short Rib Noodle Soup. I did well with water yesterday and tracked 90% of what I ate.

@theslightedgeforever I agree that me gaining a bunch of weight isn’t going to help me or DH so I’m taking steps to get myself back under control. I don’t have much of a comfort plan right now other than working to get all our ducks in a row. I’ve been obsessed with getting the finances turned over to me in a way that I understand, which means making his spreadsheets more cohesive and prettier. The man has no sense of color!
@trooworld Yup, eating healthier meals is a good idea. And with your recipe collection, you should have no problem finding or tweaking whatever you want to make.
Hello everyone! Well, Joe has done amazing so far with his first round of chemo. We were all prepared for him to be awful and other being a little more tired he feels great and has no other symptoms. We understand that he could still go through some sickness, so we aren’t letting down our guard, but we are both really happy right now. I went and cleaned the rest of the church today called that enough exercise since I’m still dealing with the end of this cold of mine. Tomorrow I plan to get back to workouts. There are 30 days until the first day of spring and I’m mindful that I need my spring clothes to fit or I will be in trouble.
0 -
@TeresaW1020 True! I'm glad to hear that the chemo is going well. That's great he's feeling okay. I'm glad you are getting back to the workouts, it should help with any stress you may be feeling!
@cbabie How are you doing with tracking and water? How'd your last weigh-in go, I forget if you said?
Hello all. Yesterday was a good day. I ate according to plan and on my lunch break, I did a 30-minute walking/lifting video. Usually, I take naps on my lunch break. Who am I? LOL I made the noodle soup last night and it was pretty good. Today, I am going to drive an hour away to meet up with an old friend that I lost touch with about 10 years or more ago. I've been sort of keeping in touch with her on Facebook but not really. It will be nice to see her. We are meeting at a restaurant that is in the WW app, so I pretracked what I am having. When I get back, my husband and I are going to have an art night, I need to make more art.

@roz0810 Aren't fitbits fun? Although I don't get as excited as I used to when I got my first one. On Thursday I was cooking and suddenly panicked when I realized my fitbit wasn't on. It has been known to fall off. I thought I lost it but then found it on the charger which meant I had spent half the day getting loads of steps but not one of them counted. My body knows. I can't remember my username. I even tried looking it up on fitbit. Let me ask someone. I really don't use the friends part anymore. Evidently I'm only competitive in games.
@gemwolf110 Are you okay now? Good thing you didn't break anything. How is the food intake these days?
@teresaw1020 Did you do your workout? Ducks in a row is a comfort tool I think. The world goes smoother when we feel in control of something. I'm laughing at you color coding his spreadsheets. It's like my Trello boards. I've seen some templates and think these are really boring when they could be so much more fun than just words. Yaaay on round one of chemo out of the way.
@trooworld Woohoo on your exercise! Plus you are reconnecting with an old friend and preplanned for the restaurant. Who are you? You are someone who has taken control of your journey to health.
I am recovering from a dinner party I threw (why do we use that word or is it only me that uses that word) on Thursday evening. It went well but I made too much I think. Always do. I don't think my energy levels are what they used to be. I spent all day yesterday doing NOTHING except for reading and watching Outlander. Good news is that I still had food left over for yesterday and today so no cooking. Bad news is the cookie bars were still left over yesterday and today. I still tracked all my food I ate. I exercised a shorter amount of time on Thursday morning than I would have but did it to keep the habit before I started prepping and cooking. I made sure I did some mall walking today. My foot is better to do that but I still had some burning and shooting pains yesterday. I think from being on it all day/night.
I need to rein in my food though and be serious towards my goals. My trendline is basically a straight line at this point and I need it to be heading downward. I'm thankful it's not heading upward anymore.

@trooworld You have a wonderful day planned and I hope it all turned out great for you! Good job on working out and not napping.
@theslightedgeforever I did do my workout and it felt great. I only did about half my capacity since it’s been almost two weeks and I’m just getting over my cold. Yes, I throw parties too and I have no idea why we say it like that!
Hello! Today was a good day. I did my workout and then cleaned the house, which included cleaning, throwing away, and reorganizing my bathroom linen closet and under both sinks. One big trash bag later and it looks great! I don’t know if I mentioned it but on one of hubby’s good days we went and bought a new sectional. Our living room has been crying for one ever since we moved in. I also got a new rug, coffee table, and lamps thanks to Wayfair. The rug is here now and the rest comes on Tuesday. I am excited about a new look and a good friend is being blessed with my old sofa and rug. She is just as excited.

Good Morning!
@theslightedgeforever knee is good, food intake has been good. Lost 1.4 lbs this week yay!
Dogs had me up at 4:30 yesterday and today0 -
@theslightedgeforever You may not have set a username, I know I didn't. I forget how I found that but it was in the app, I think under my profile. Who am I, right? LOL What word, "threw"? Or "dinner party"? I'm glad you had some downtime to recover. That's great that your trendline isn't going up anymore, woo hoo!
@TeresaW1020 It did, I had a wonderful time with my friend! Sounds like you had a very productive day. You didn't mention the sectional, I don't think, but congrats! That's great that you have a place for the old stuff to go.
@gemwolf110 Congrats on the loss and yay for the knee and food intake being good!
Hi all. I had a good time with my friend at lunch yesterday. I was starving by the time I got to the restaurant as I didn't eat breakfast so I could save points for lunch. I'm lucky I was able to stick to my guns and order the ahi tuna salad, usually, when I go somewhere hungry, my plan goes out the window. The restaurant is called The Lazy Dog and of course, I loved it, it was doggy-themed and you are allowed to sit on the patio with your dogs. They even have 2 meals on the menu specifically for dogs: chicken breast, rice and veggies; or hamburger patty, rice and veggies! There is a Lazy Dog down where I live, we will have to take Miss Daisy to it.
After I got back from visiting with my friend, I cooked a healthy dinner and then my husband and I did artwork. It was a fun, enriching evening. Today, I have some errands to run but I may also work on some artwork.

@teresaw1020 Yaaay on getting your workout done. Getting new furniture and stuff is always fun.
@gemwolf110 Woohoo on your weight loss. Repeat your good habits this week.
@trooworld Good for you on cooking a healthy meal. Yes the word that sounds funny to me was threw (past tense) of throw a party.

I don't want you guys to send out the hounds...I am taking some down time. So I will poke my head in as soon as I can.

@theslightedgeforever It is an odd-sounding word. That's good you at least kept the habit of exercise.
@cbabie Okay, thanks for letting us know!
Hi all. Yesterday, I ran errands and then did some artwork. In the evening, I watched the movie "Chocolat" with my book club. I've seen it before but liked it enough to see again. Today I have the day off due to President's Day. My hubby and SIL and I are going to a winery about an hour away for lunch and some sips. It should be fun but I can't help but think I shouldn't go, I should stay home and meal prep. Oh well.

@cbabie
@trooworld Tough choice on the winery versus mealprep but how can you balance the two? Enjoy yourself but at the same time choose healthy this week. Meals don't have to be gourmet this week. Simple things and then next week do regular mealprep. What did you end up doing? I remember when I read the book Chocolat for bookclub years ago.

Exercise Rest day
Obviously I didn't have a good day food wise. Son ordered Five Guys. I ate. I did enjoy every bit of it and hadn't had a cheeseburger in a while. Did not weigh in this morning as I know there will be some sodium bloat. So mid week I will weigh in.0 -
@theslightedgeforever I ended up going to the winery and having a good time. Didn't do any meal prepping but meals were planned on Friday and groceries were bought on Saturday so I can't change the meals. But luckily, they aren't too complicated. I didn't eat dinner last night because I had a cheeseburger at the winery. I wasn't really hungry and my stomach kind of hurt. Yeah, I think I read Chocolat but can't be sure unless I started reading it all over. I love Five Guys. I'm glad you were able to enjoy it.
Hi all. I had fun at the winery but was tired when I got home so I took a nap. Today is back to reality, working all day.

@trooworld I'm glad you got to go to the winery. Plus I'm sure some extra walking there. That always helps. My goal is to add in some more fruits and veggies this week. Plus more water. It's always the water.

I gained 0.3 lbs this week0 -
@theslightedgeforever There was a little walking although not as much as I had hoped. That's a good goal. Yes, it's always the water with me, too. I can earn a point by drinking enough and still I don't.
Hi all. I lost 0.8 lbs this week. Better than gaining. I can't help but think if I didn't have what I had at the winery (a cheeseburger and shared some fries with the table), I would have lost more. But, NSV, I tracked everything I ate so that's good. I didn't get as much exercise as I would have liked to: my husband has been sleeping in and that makes it hard because I need to get into my workout clothes. I'm going to eliminate that barrier by putting my clothes in the living room the night before. We'll see if that makes a difference.

@trooworld losing is always better than gaining so yayy!! I’m sure the winery didn’t help your weight loss, but you had a good time. Some people sleep in their workout clothes. I do make sure to put mine on first thing in the morning on days when I will work out.
Hello everyone! The new sectional is nice and it’s big. Going to take some getting used to seeing something that large in my space. Today we have to go to Best Buy and see if I can find a new computer for home. This one froze up four times yesterday and it will freeze when I’m typing. Most annoying and hubby has been on me to replace it for months. Why is it that spending money always comes in waves? My eating has been pretty good but I’m still doing too much snacking. I had done so well with cutting out all snacking and need to get back to that routine. Workouts are going well and this morning I will go in and murder my triceps and chest muscles.
