@Tamevv I agree with you. I don't eat back my exercise either. I have a certain number each day of exercise calories that I want to burn. Currently 285 according to my fitbit. I had to start doing it that way versus walking 30 min and saying okay, I've exercised. Looks like you are making some excellent choices this week. Planning ahead and all. If evenings seem to be a problem, how about look at it from another perspective? Go lighter cals earlier in the day. Cut portions a bit. 3/4 c to 2/3 Then you will at least be closer to your goal with evening eating. Eventually you can start working on your evening eating the same way. Cut back just a bit so you still get the taste and pleasure of what you are eating. Just less calories until you feel more in control.

@gemwolf110 That's great you are getting in some exercise. How has your food been?

@trooworld So what are your high pointed items this week? woohoo on the weight loss. No matter the reason. I love ful medames.

@cbabie So veggies, plan out 2 veggies this week. What ones? Which days will you eat them? Which meals on that day? Start there.

Yesterday: 12/24 Strawberries, pineapple, grapes, cherries, broccoli, brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower Exercise: 65 minutes at the gym.

Today: 12/24 Cherries, romaine lettuce, red onion Exercise: 83 minutes at the gym

Hi @theslightedgeforever. Yep I think this will be my focus with exercise for now. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about health vs weight, and I am striving for both, but mentally and emotionally the numbers are important to me right now. It has been helpful this week to challenge myself to keep going for longer to meet calorie goals, so it’s not hurting the “health” side at all. I have an Apple Watch and it is nice to keep getting awards about how I’m breaking all my existing records 😊. Yep I do try to keep cals low in the mornings as much as possible, and delaying strategies have been working really well this week.

@cbabie Thanks 😔. I know I’m not alone, and am happy to be here 😊. I have been having zero sugar yoghurt, half an apple chopped up and 10g roasted almonds (chopped up) mixed together. It fills a small rice bowl so makes me feel like it’s significant size, and crunchy so a very satisfying snack.

@trooworld Thanks 😊. Congrats on the loss! I’m looking forward to something decent to report this Friday - I’m determined!! Cant say I’ve had frozen grapes, but I really like frozen blueberries. I am always inspired by your recipes - my fav this time is the spicy tofu bowls - I’ll be having that sometime this week - thanks 😁.

Hi everyone. Got my first day under calorie goal yesterday. Did almost an hour on the elliptical this morning, but at a slower pace. Made good choices at big family breakfast but not sure what the rest of the day holds. Thinking I will let myself join in for take away lunch then a light dinner. UPDATE: no takeout lunch!! Yay! Made the call and just made myself a salad wrap (home made tortilla) with seafood extender sticks. It was really yummy and I’m so glad. THEN, I even did another full hour on the elliptical burning another 450 calories 😁. I’m now enjoying a sweet (fake sweet - it’s sugar free) coffee, and allowed myself a single square of fancy chocolate (after my mandarin 😊)

@cbabie I'm sorry about the headache and your day. That's good you went for a walk, did it help with the stress? Thanks, yeah I think it helps to have a meal plan in place for so many reasons. That's true about birthdays! But mine is coming up in a few weeks, too. :(

Hi all. The cake I made for my SIL's birthday came out really well. It was moist and delicious. I had a small piece as it was 35 pts for a whole piece! I did track yesterday. I just put "25 pts" for the Chinese food because we got a lot of dishes and I tried some of each. It got to 100F here yesterday. Ridiculous. When we got home from the birthday celebration, we just stayed inside in the AC and watched TV.

I've been overwhelmed by my email inbox lately: too many promotional emails. I decided to create filters for the promotional emails so that anything with SALE in the title gets deleted automatically. That should get rid of the bulk of the crap emails.

I had wanted to clean our window blinds but it's too hot in the morning to do it so I think I will put it off.

    Water yesterday: 30 oz

Hi everyone, just a quick check in that I’m doing well. Still some wider-life niggles going on, but when are there not? My weight and health journey is the thing keeping me focused these days and I’m really pleased with it - seem to be in a zone so making the most of it. This was the most successful weekend I’ve had in ages - under calorie goal (even without the exercise bonus) both days. Also have been doing reflecting a lot and I think that is helping me not get caught up in all the other bollocks going on. Anyway that’s all for now. Hope it’s a good day for everyone.

So I’m hiding in my room because I’m on the verge of a tantrum and do not want to yell at anyone. Was a long day at work - no breaks - straight home for PL, ate my lunch during it at 3:30. Walked to shop to get tofu to make the recipe for dinner, got home and kids have taken over kitchen because two of them suddenly have special things to make for their friends for tomorrow. I love that the kids are cooking, and i do not want to discourage that, but I’m hungry and was looking forward to a nice dinner. No idea what to do. It would be easy to buy takeaway for them and i can have the salad i had prepped for lunch tomorrow. But i know ill be resentful and annoyed - we get takeaway very rarely so it is very much a “treat”. But i dont want to undo my last week. I have stuff i could chuck in the oven, but it will already be in use for hours. I really do love that they are comfortable in the kitchen and want to use it. I do not want to make them feel bad about it. Just wish there were healthier take away options close to home. Maybe i should just have a banana and read my book for a while. “Dinner time” for us is in 30 minutes though. What to do what to do?

Food could be better. I’m still trying to eat what is left in fridge/freezer.

Morning all. I couldn’t shake my
Mood last night but didn’t buy dinner - walked up to the store again and microwaved everyone a pie and I ate my salad and a small protein bar. Had a bath, 99cal ice cream, read my book and went to bed. Slept well, up and exercised this morning, busy day again today but feeling more positive😊

@gemwolf Yeah I noticed the adds are popping up more frequently now, but at least you can just click them off, I’ll be cranky if it turns into those video things you have to sit through 🙄. Hope you have a great day today!

@Tamevv That's great that you are in a zone. Sounds like you are doing awesome! I'm sorry I wasn't on here to give my 2 cents of advice to you. I think I would have a banana and think about it more. Sounds like it all worked out, sorry about your mood.

@gemwolf110 I hope you had a great labor day! Yeah I heard there are ads now on MFP and not only that, starting in October, you have to be a premium member to use the barcode scanner.

Hi all. Sorry it's been a few days. I had a minor home emergency on Sunday: our range died! Totally dead. We had to order a new one and it won't be here until Thursday Sept 15! Luckily, we have a microwave and a Ninja Foodi. The Foodi is an air fryer, pressure cooker, dehydrator, roaster and saute all at once. It will be a little tricky making some of the things in it so we bought some stuff for sandwiches for some of the days.

@trooworld No need to apologise, it is helpful for me to just have the outlet and know people will be around sooner or later 😊. Thanks though 😊. Your kitchen toy sounds interesting. I’ve been wanting but talking myself out of an air fryer for months. Just can’t seem to find one that hits the balance between not too expensive but not too crap.

I’m doing better today although it is actually taking a lot of mental energy and focus to keep myself stable. It’s good, because I’m journaling and tracking and being aware of myself, but also draining. My daughter is not going well emotionally this week either and that has bubbled up a bit this morning, but the sun is shining and I’ve done my exercise and my reflections, and feeling positive.

Hope everyone’s week is off to a good start.

@Tamevv Yeah, I get not wanting to get something that is too expensive or total crap. I'm glad you are better today. That's too bad your daughter is struggling. I hope her mood gets better. Have a great day!

Hi all. Well, funny thing happened last night: our circuit breaker got tripped and when we flipped the switches to turn the circuits back on, the stove came back on! So, we were able to cancel our stove order and save $900. I'm glad but also a bit disappointed because I hate our old stove. :D

I have tried so many times to post here today, but have not even able to find coherence 😔. It was a good food day - some cake the afternoon but considered and controlled. And then I did a step workout because tomorrows schedule has been obliterated by an unexpected all-day install at my house, and it is my last chance to get the workout in to meet my goal. Feel good but tired. If I allow exercise points, would have come in under cal goal so am happy with that. Last 3 days have been under primary goal which is a huge win. Am still doing my 30mins first thing in the morning. Hope everyone is going well.

@ trooworld I smiled about your stove - kind of a bummer but also yay for saving money!

Hi everyone. Am coming here because I’m bored while waiting for kids to arrive home and kinda hungry but don’t want to eat till I know their plans for afternoon tea. It’s been a productive but sedentary day. Woke up a bit later than normal but still did my 30mins this morning and have vacuumed the house when the workmen left.

@cbabie how are you going this week? Am hoping you are having a good one and being able to get out and about a bit.

    …oh they’re home!! Bye!

@cbabie @theslightedgeforever Anyone home? Do I have to send out the hounds?

@Tamevv Sounds like you are doing great. Thanks re: the stove. In the end, it's for the best. That's good you came here instead of eating.

Hi all. Day 7 of the heatwave that won't quit. It's bloody miserable here. I plan on dragging our portable AC unit out into the living room so I can work in the AC. I have an appointment with a weight loss specialist doctor this morning. We are going to talk about medications and he will likely want to talk about surgery too but I'm not interested in that. Then I have a dentist appointment in the afternoon. Not much work getting done today. In the middle of the night, I got up to go to the bathroom and I tripped over a pillow that had fallen on the floor. I came down hard on my head and knee and my back is tweaked too.

Hi all. I went to the weight loss specialist doctor and he gave me the news that I have impaired fasting glucose. He didn't say what that meant so when I got home, I looked it up and according to the American Diabetes Association, it means I have prediabetes. :( This was news to me and I'm very upset. But at least I have a chance to turn it around. He is going to try to get my insurance to cover Saxenda, an injectable weight loss drug. He wants me to exercise 3 hours a week. I can do this.

@trooworld. Darn - sorry to hear the Specialist didn’t have better news. You’re right though that information is power - now you know where things stand you can do what’s necessary to stay healthy. You can totally do three hours a week - no problem!! 😁. Just need to work out which activity you enjoy most and that fits your routines. Bring on that tonal!! You can do it!

@trooworld I have had prediabetes twice and turned it around twice. Just through diet and exercise so I know it can be done. That was why I went on the modified carb program, "Carb cycling".

So I only went back and read the last post which was above. I have been to Minneapolis and went to the State Fair and did some other stuff in the city. Then Wednesday we went to a state park and hiked. Remember the one that got rained out? Well we tried again. That was a killer for me. I rested yesterday. I was supposed to be at the gym an hour and 15 min ago but hubby hasn't come home and he has the other key to lock the door, so I can't leave. ARGH!

I had a nice strawberry spinach lunch with a cup of chicken noodle soup.
I lost 2.2 lbs this week. Oh I guess I need to log that on MFP. I always forget and just keep it on my weight loss app.

I got 14/24 today. f&v: strawberries, cherries, mandarin oranges, spinach, mushroom, celery

Finally took my measurements today - bought a new tape measure yesterday because I can’t find the other one. Worked hard - got a personal best for most calories burned in a single day 😁.

@theslightedgeforever That’s awesome that you were able to beat it twice! Well done! Argh about the keys! Hope you were still able to do something active. Yay for the loss! How do you eat your celery? My standard work lunch is celery sticks with cottage cheese with chopped up jalapeños stirred through it, and everyone thinks I’m a bit weird cause apparently I’m the only person in the world who likes celery 🤷‍♀️. It is really fresh and juicy and crunchy.

@trooworld Hope you are having a good weekend 😊
