Happy Thursday. Another cool and damp day. I would rather have that then the high hot days. I am working 7-3:30 today. My back is still really sore so not moving very well.
I also love to read. I have just joined a book discuss deal with some women from my CMA group. It is For the Love-Fighting for Grace in a world of Impossible standards by Jen Hatmaker. We are just starting so see how this goes. This is a first for me as I love to read just for pleasure.
Penny--glad to hear the jobs are coming in.
My sister just called and mom signed a contract on the house. If all goes well 30 days and it will be done. So praying all goes well. It's only $5000 less then the apraisal. Such a relief.
Janetr--Beautiful view. Hope you are feeling better and getting to enjoy this journey.
Time to sign off for the day. Take care ladies.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE1 -
I'm really sorry, I really shouldn't have shared that pic of her during her final days. That want appropriate, I apologize1

Pip- your sister was beautiful! She looked so full of love and fun! I just visited my DH's Uncle during the last days of his life and those pictures are filled with so much love and the feelings expressed during that time are present and for me some of the best memories happened then.

A view of the Current River from our RV Park. The river is fed by Big Spring one of the largest springs in the world, producing approximately 286 million gallons of water daily. Its very clear and cold. We are going to see the spring tomorrow.

Heather: Edie's cake is charming. You are an amazing woman. :flowerforyou:
Pip: Hugs to you on the anniversary of your oldest sister's birthday. I hope she knew/knows how much she was and is loved. The photos are great, including the one of your sister's final days. No need for apology. (((HUGS)))
JanetR: Thanks for sharing your journey through photos. I like Current River.
I have two bowls of sourdough bread working on my counter based on Penney's bread recipe. I goofed on the first one and added the yeast at the wrong time so I did the second batch correctly. News of progress will be shared in the morning.

Hello ladies: I went to the doctor this morning and she froze three plantar warts on the sole of my right foot. Very sore now. I need to wait three weeks and if they are not completely gone I will have to have it done again. Boo! I finished getting things moved around in the barn today because I thought the hay guy was coming to deliver hay. Turns out he thought today was Friday, not Thursday so he is coming tomorrow. But hey things are cleaned up and ready for him and tomorrow afternoon our barn will be chok -a-block with hay for the horses. I went to a book club at our church this afternoon. I think I will join the group. We are reading "Jimmy Bluefeather" for next month.
Heather - Can't believe Bea is six months already. The cake sounds awesome.
Janetr - Lovely pictures. We lived not too far from DeSmet, SD when we were in Sioux Falls. They had a Laura Ingalls Wilder pageant every summer.
Marcelyn - Glad the CT showed benign and you will get your shoulder surgery soon. Sorry for your friends sudden loss.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA1 -
Did 1 hr of a 10 Pounds Down DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do a bosu DVD
Volunteered at the green room then went to the farmer's market (didn't get anything) then to Hamricks to return a pair of sneakers I got, then stopped at Bed Bath and Beyond then to Aldi.
Marcelyn - so glad that the tumor is most likely begnine. It probably is. But so sorry you're in such terrible pain. That's terrible about your friend's daughter
Alison - so glad you were there for that patient
NYKaren - it's scary, but so glad you're getting out of your comfort zone. It's so nice to see about different cultures. Just ask Heather, with all the trips she's taken.
Heather - the cake you're going to make sounds gorgeous. You MUST post a pic of it when you're done so we can all drool over it. If it's anything like Edie's cake, it be fantastic
pip - (((HUGS))). I don't think it was inappropriate at all.
Sue in WA - I tend to get plantar warts, and they are a real PITA, so I completely sympathize with you. Hope you don't have to go back and get them refrozen
Gotta run.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Good Evening Ladies,
Janetr, so happy to hear that rash is clearing up. If you weren’t beginning to get concerned about it, I’d be getting concerned about you. LOL It’s so nice that you can enjoy the scenery along your ventures. Feel free to keep sharing pictures and information. You know we love to live vicariously through our “Pfat Chat Friends”. ((Hugs))
Rori, so glad you enjoyed your time in LV. You look marvelous!
Mary, the twins are sooooooo cute. I know you have to want to get your hands on them!!! It’s such a shame that you aren’t welcomed with open arms.
Pip, I agree with the others….your pictures is great! And great video on the MS ride.
Heather, your lunch in Portsmouth sounds lovely.
Lori, welcome. This is a great place for support and information and you will see that we chat about any and everything. Come often and join right in.
Purl, so sorry about the bike accident but about your DD’s comment on the sprain>>>> and that’s not small potatoes to me. Just the thought of an accident like that would keep me off a bike for the rest of my life.
Flabflipper, welcome. We would allow you to just hang out, but to get the most benefit from this fantastic group of ladies, it would be better if you join right in.
Becca, congrats on the loss! That is sad that your friend doesn’t share how she is losing. Why wouldn’t someone want to share that??? It wouldn’t keep them from losing if the information was a benefit to others. People are strange.
Lillie, welcome. This is a great place for support and information so come often. Please tell us a bit about yourself to help us get to know you. We appreciate it when you sign each post with your name and location, general or specific.
Jane, I think it’s wonderful that you are losing weight, no matter how slow. Keep up the good work!
Sue, I’m happy for you to get back to singing. Enjoy yourself!!!
Janetr, great pictures. You look fantastic, lady! I absolutely love the stone house. I hope the interior was as interesting as the exterior.
Purl, glad the tooth seems to just have a small chip. It’s good that the dentist is being cautious.
Barbie, it was nice to hear from your friend after years.
MicheleNC, smelling those doughnuts in the car would have been too much for a lot of us. They just smell soooooooooooooo good!!!
Galatians, welcome. You did your post exactly right. Please tell us a little about yourself and sign each post with the name you want to be called. A location is also helpful. My suggestion is to start with a few simple goals. Slow and steady works best. If you just log everything that goes in your mouth and come here often you will be off to a great start. You can do this.
Marcelyn, glad the scan didn’t find anything worse. That is sad about your friend’s DD. Will they do an autopsy?
Joyce, I wish you had been able to go to rehab. Just because the procedure has been a while back are you sure they can’t still send you? I mean, you do still have a heart condition. It’s worth checking out. I so hope you will feel better soon!!!
Heather, you just have no idea how my heart feels with joy each time I see a picture of Bea!! That has to be the happiest child I’ve ever seen. And I love those creases on her arms, knowing they will disappear.
NYKaren, that is nice of you to make the trip with your DH. Will this be totally pleasure or some business for him?
Allie, I’m so glad that job of yours doesn’t get boring! LOL So I’m guessing this drug is not one that was prescribed by his doctor? It’s nice that ya’ll didn’t let him drive. Good grief!
KJ, I’ll have to try Biofreeze. Some nights I just can’t sleep for the hip and shoulder pain. Sometimes I can’t even tell if the hips are arthritis or bursitis. I just know the it is twins are giving me fits.
Barbie, cute emoji of you petting your poodle!!!
Tracey, I think many of us occasionally have problems with sleep in one way or another. I admire you for getting up and exercising. That is not something I can do. When I can’t go back to sleep I’ll lay there for two hours and if and when I get up, it’s little activity until at least 6:00.
Katla, your parade sounds like fun.
Heather, glad the shopping trip was a success. So much better to have something you like than an expensive surprise that you don’t. Bea’s cake sounds great. OMG, the cake for Edie is wonderful. You are so gifted in the kitchen!!!
to any Newbies that I missed. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.
Today when I went to the gym I started watching a Flip or Flop while I was riding the bike and I kept riding until the show was over so I could see how the house turned out. That is a good way to keep me riding longer as I often only ride for about 15 minutes before I start on the machines. My favorite part is still the hydro massage bed. Lol When I have a good work out it really wears me out. It’s just past 9:30 and I think I’m going to go to bed. I’m one tired woman.
Sending love and good thoughts to all of you and I hope you all have a Happy and Healthy Day!

Pip A long time ago, my friend's dad was showing her some photos he had taken of her uncle (his brother) on his birthday. He was emaciated, on oxygen, etc due to cancer. She reacted negatively and her dad asked her why. She said "well Dad, he looks terrible and he's dying and I just don't think he'd want us to remember him that way." Her dad was quiet for a very long time. And then he finally said to her, "He wasn't dying. He was living another day of his life..."

The interiors were every bit as wonderful and the views from both houses were stunning. No picture taking allowed inside the homes, sorry.

Pip, I agree with Katla and Mary. No need to apologize. The pictures told me how much you loved her and how hard it was to say goodbye.
It's been a few days since I've been on the thread--there were over 200 messages!
Re, Congrats on the weight loss and the too big pants!
Purl, what a nasty accident. I'm so sorry, but glad it wasn't worse. And I loved the story of your DD clutching her stomach for the severe cervical sprain!
Marcelyn, I'm know how awful it is to be in terrible pain all the time, so I'm sending positive thoughts you way. Hopefully you'll feel much better after the surgery. I am so grateful that I'm living in a place and time where surgery can help us feel much better! I wouldn't be walking if not for modern medicine.
Janetr, Wonderful pictures. And can I say that you look simply marvelous!?
Katla, I bought a full spectrum light for my home office. I think it helps, but I only got to use it for one day before I had to travel.
I had a tough day yesterday. Without going into details, a colleague sent me the most appalling email in which he accused me of being a "vindictive administrator" who was accusing him of dishonesty and padding his invoices in order to get rid of him. It was way over the top, very far from the truth, and it came out of the blue. He and I had disagreed professionally in the past, and he went on to say that I was being vindictive because of our past disagreement. In the previous disagreement I had actually backed down, although I knew (but I don't think he did) that I could bring the issue to a vote and could win. At the time I decided that, in my view, the status quo was inconvenient, but bearable, whereas he had serious concerns about changing the status quo. So it made sense to me to leave things as they were. In any case, after I received his email I wrote a very calm response, apologizing that I had not clearly given him the background for an earlier email--which I then proceeded to give him--and suggested that he talk with my boss. Even though I handled it appropriately, even though I had not behaved badly, and even though my colleagues understood how weird his response was, it upset me for the rest of the day. Ugh!!! I don't usually wonder if it's a gender thing, but perhaps he's not comfortable having a woman disagree with him and not be persuaded. I know he enjoys a arguing with other men.
I need to get some sleep. I'm going to California tomorrow to see DD and DGS, who turned 1 today. DSL will be away...

Michele: Good eyes. Yes, I did cut 3” of hair and have some long layers done around my face.
Marcelyn: So sorry to hear about your friends’ daughter. And how awful for you to have live and travel with constant, debilitating pain. Bless you.
Joyce: ((hugs)) and good energy being sent your way. We’re going to pray you back to health.
Katla: Kudos for getting the mini-fridge working again. That pumpkin event sounds like a hoot.
Heather: I dearly and desperately want to pick up Bea. What a cutie!!!
NYKaren: How incredibly lucky you are to have a DH who is experienced in international travel and wants to you show you new places overseas. Is it the travel or the destinations themselves that give you pause?
Lisa: Atttagurl for getting back into the swing of an exercise routine. I’m so happy that you can stay at the paper and Cory has found a good place to work.
Allie: Thank goodness you got the car keys away from him. You are an everyday hero.
Cheri: I don’t wear a fitbit anymore, but you sure have me intrigued about setting an alarm to remind me to get up and move. The saying “sitting is the new smoking” keeps circling my brain.
Pip: Love the photo of your sister dancing. You can really see her zest for life. I know the heavy heart and misty eyes that come with thinking of a lost sibling.
Vicki: Enjoy the book and congrats to mom on the house sale. Relief!
Sue: I have been to DeSmet, SD and visited the LIW house there. And the giant pheasant. Bummers about the plantar worts.
Janetr: So relieved to hear the rash is receding. Now onto your travels and fun times. Great photos.
DJ: Flip or Flop and some of the other HGTV shows have gotten me through many a gym workout. Good for you for hanging in there. Hope you get some relief for you hips.
I’m counting down to September 29th, and our departure to Hawaii. I’ve done a few of the things needed to get needed repairs and upgrades in our condo scheduled. Two similar units in my building sold this month, which is encouraging. I’m working really hard not to get overly anxious or worried about all that needs to get done. “Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good”. Y’all remind me of this, okay?
Today I mark 4 months with no alcohol. Really proud of myself. Stay well, friends. We can do this.

I can't remember who wrote about going to the gym. When I do ride my bike the way I should, I use HGTV a lot since it is a station that I love to see the before of these shows and wait through all the construction to see the results. Plus it CAN be very educational. Now what the education is that I know that I would NEVER use that type of decorating in my home but that's OK. But she is right, it can sure keep you on that bike or whatever you are doing. I just wish we had a gym around here that had the hydrotherapy. OOOOH, sounds so good.
Pip, what I saw in your picture was a family gathering around in love and supporting one another. I am also sure she felt it also and even though she didn't look her best, she saw the love and desire for you all to be around her.Happy meeting anniversary. It was destiny that you met.
JanetR, I salute you for going camping with all that is going on. I don't think I would be able to relax to do it. But it does look divine.
Sometimes it is a little quirky, I try to always catch each season of Project Runway. It is so interesting to see how these designers can visualize a dress or whatever the assignment is and put it into fruition. The season started tonight and it was the unconditional material show where they make something out of nothing. Tonight it was all the party supplies in the room they were in. The winning design worked faithfully on cutting these yellow gumballs in half and at the last moment put it all together and she had a gorgeous dress and cape made of yellow wigs and a muslim yellow dyed muslin dress adorned with these gumballs. Her fellow designers show doubted her sure were surprised! It's a strange show for me but I do like it.
