Day 22. I'm all about the candy, but my calories are lower because I'm not drinking 500 calories worth anymore.2

Niiiiice. I have definitely traded my liquor (spiced rum) sugar count for Halloween candy this week.0 -

Seriously. I told my husband to hide my scale and the candy in the house when he gets home!0 -

Usually I'm in charge of passing out the Halloween candy and I make sure there is NONE left by the last trick or treaters. This year husband passed out candy. There's a giant bowl half filled still sitting in the living room1 -
Found you....day 64 for me.....But happy to have support thru Nov... Holidays are tough...2

..onsickmom, and queenmunchy..... How do you get past the triggers? seems like i have all sorts of things that cause me to want to have a drink.0

I'm joining in with this (except for Thanksgiving and the day before)! Usually I have a glass of wine or a beer 2 or 3 times a week, but it would be nice to save the cash and loose the calories.0

Money wise it will be a good thing too. We've gotten in to drinking more craft beers lately which are about double the price (and calories!).1 -
Craft beers are preferable to me as well, so it will be a very good thing money wise.

I've never counted my alcohol, and although I'm losing really slow, I'm okay with that. I don't use high calorie mixers either, I like a dirty martini, or a Vodka tonic ( I use diet tonic) although I have been drinking my fair share of Washington Apples, which has cranberry........ So yeah, I'm excited to see how much better the losses will be...............2 -
I did have a glass of wine on the 1st but I didn't see this challenge until today. No more alcohol for the rest of the month! I don't drink that frequently but when I do I have more than one serving and I don't work it into my calorie allowance. Another problem is that alcohol gives me bad indigestion lately.2

Welcome!
I've been waking up very puffy every Monday morning. Not a fun side effect. I'm hoping it does have a positive effect on my heart burn too!1 -
I'm already craving having a beer with dinner, especially since I'm about to drive through rush hour traffic. I'm going to listen to my Star Trek podcast and just not think about it, lol. I have ice cold sparkling water waiting for me too!0

Did you make it MM21?

Sad to say, day 1 was bad for me...
I had friends over for dinner last night (which I planned 3 weeks ago) and prepped Tiramisu with chocolate liqueur in it.
Couldnt help trying 1 shot of the stuff while cooking.
Then figured I might as well have 1 glass of wine since I had already broken my resolve....1 -

Oh no!! well, I understand how hard it is when you're with friends and you want to enjoy yourself. DH and I are planning on cooking a big meal together tonight and we usually drink a few beers together when we do. When I get home I'm going to make a big jug of iced tea to have on hand when water just isn't cutting it. And he's going to the grocery store to get me some more sparkling water.
Get back to it, you still have the rest of the month to make amends!0 -

I tried the ACV, it's too gross. I can't do it. And it burns going down, lol. ::shudder:: I keep tums by my bedside though, it's not always an issue.1 -
Good morning sober people.
ACV - I've heard you're supposed to put it in a glass of water (diluted.)
I don't use it that way, sounds like woo to me. No one thing is going to help with weight loss other than a calorie deficit.
Not drinking alcohol erased hundred of calories a day for me.
I don't know any way to include it and still maintain good nutrition in a deficit.0 -
I can manage to not buy any alcohol in November, but one does not simply turn down free beer.1

When I was in a calorie deficit to lose weight (maintenance now) I found I would deprive my self of nutritious foods just to be able to have a couple beers. Sometimes I could have one 99 calorie beer with dinner and call it good but on the weekends in the afternoons I would be counting out the alcohol calories "If I have 2 more drinks, then I still have *this many* calories left for dinner". Did not work very well. Although the one good thing is that it's much easier to get a good buzz going on an empty stomach, lol.1 -

Where is this "free beer" you speak of?!
edit: Also, if I went by that logic I'd never have lost the weight, lol. Free food, cookies, cupcakes, donuts, etc at my work multiple times a week!
