Sorry it's late, one slice put me in a food coma last night.

All my life I've lived with so much anger towards him. I finally started talking to him and I can say that I've reached a point in my life (maybe because of my illness) where I can't hold grudges anymore or hold on to anger. I hope this is the start of at least a friendship with him. I am more than willing to let him into my life and my kids lives.
Glad to hear you're able to work through those things! 😊1 -

I think you and @_Miss_chievous_ are amazing. You both give so many hope and find ways to encourage others in the process.
That's way more than most of us could do and you both do it all the time.
You're both absolutely fantastic. 😊3 -

If you're talking about my cake, yes. It's cream cheese frosting. I used this recipe if you want to make it for yourself, but.. it takes awhile to assemble.

okay.... that's hitting just a lil' too close to home.3 -
I am bummed out. Had a great day eating BBQ and playing games at the arcade. Came home to find a dead cat in our driveway. He doesn't appear to have been hit or beaten.. in fact, it looks as though someone carefully placed him in my driveway.
I cried over the loss even though yes, he is a stray. My husband doesn't seem to understand why it gets to me. So now, I'm depressed. We can't just dump the body in the trash and now security on base is wasting a Sunday asking around as to the ownership of the cat.7 -

I’m sorry. I understand why it hurts. 24 years ago I saw a dead kitten in the weeds beside an old cemetery. I cried but was comforted when the man I was with cried with me.4 -

right before i found my first apartment, i was staying with a friend in a sketchy part of the city. i came back to her place one night, and a cat had been impaled on a wrought iron fence in front of the house. i was shocked senseless and ran up to my roomie to tell her what happened. we were so horrified.
i'm so sorry that you - of all people - had to come home to that. it's devastating when death happens naturally to animals in any case, but when circumstances are bizarre - it's indeed traumatic.

I feel sad just imagining this. I'm so sad you had to go through it. I don't get why someone placed him on your driveway though, unless they hit him near there and thought he was yours. Regardless, it's hard to see an animal like that - especially if you love cats. Big hugs0 -

I get a little upset when I pass run over animals on the roadways. I know it's something that happens and that it shouldn't upset me, but it still does. This poor cat just felt deliberately placed in our driveway and I couldn't find a reason why he would have died (not old, no injuries that were noticeable, didn't appear to be poisoned and was well fed).
I suppose I will never know what happened (which is sad, I enjoyed seeing his fuzzy butt around my home and he'd come get attention every once in awhile). Apparently, security notified the person who *might* have owned him or knew at least more about the cat than I did and for some reason, that bums me out even more. To know that he had a human and died away from home.mi_nina_lola wrote: »KosmosKitten wrote: »I am bummed out. Had a great day eating BBQ and playing games at the arcade. Okay, that's way worse than this cat. This poor guy looks like he at least died peacefully, we just can't determine from what. I would be traumatized if I had seen what you describe as well! Yeesh. Poor cat.

I don't know for sure if someone did place him there. It just appeared as though he had been placed carefully on our driveway and not as though he just died naturally there since most cats hide when they're getting ready to die.
I suspect that if he was placed there, it's because most of my neighbors are well aware of my love for cats (as well as our son's love for them), so they may have naturally assumed it was ours. I would think they would have left a note if that were the case, so it may just be an unusual case of a cat dying in a really unusual way of some unseen injury or disease.
Still, really depressed about it.
Thanks for the kind thoughts, y'all. It's been.. a day.5 -
