Less so when you call it "diablo rojo," it just sounds like a cute hockey fan then.

Oh yeah, red devil sounds so much sweeter! 😂

Seems to me that if the state of Florida would put a bounty on pythons in the everglades they might eradicate them.
    Same with the Taku lizards.

That rarely works. People just start breeding the animals they can get a bounty on and passing those off as hunted.

You’re right, I didn’t even think of that.
Wasn’t there a time that the alligators had to be protected because so many were killed for handbags, belts and shoes?

I guess the situation needs to be,
a dead python is worth more than a live one?

    I don’t know.
Quite the beast of a problem.

    @Motorsheen

What will we do if chitchat goes away.

Make it move, Motorsheen. Make it move. Thanks for teaching me everything I've ever needed to know about gifs.

    @Diatonic12

    It's funny you should ask.

    There's always options, right?

Hopefully, the new owners would give everyone advance notice & provide the time needed to us to connect here or elsewhere.

There's always online avenues to explore and some are better than others.

One option is to go to an independent hosting site and develop one's own forum.
The membership there would probably be 'by invitation only' but at the same time would cast a wide net.

@Motorsheen We could always talk about your food protocol in great detail and then write secret codes and messages to one another, reading between the lines.

Today, I ate all of the things.

Today, I did a classic liver detox and I suddenly got better. I used a little known secret to whisk all of the fat away. The Dawn really came to light and it works fast just like a detergent.

The thought of losing chitchat is sad. :'( It's the beating heart and the soft heart of this joint. <3<3<3

@Motorsheen We'll figure it out. There ain't nothin' we can't do when we put our heads together.
Birds of a feather fly together.

The off-site thing, I can see people slowly then rapidly losing interest. We want The Happy Meal.
We lurve tracking all of our data points while milling around and shooting the breeze. The Tribe has spoken.

We're flex. We can eat, track data, sing songs, write poems, post photos and gifs and walk all at the same time. We can do it all because we're flex, totally rando and humble.

    case in point:

I used to track at a site called "Daily Burn"

it went belly up.... I then found MFP

the only problem with the start-up, independent forums is that a limited number of people join and the attrition rate is high. it's very similar to the private groups here.... they're fun while they last, but typically burn out pretty fast.

    Yes, siree.

The private groups fall flatter than a flounder after the title is written. There's so many with one member and no posts. Connection matters. It's everything.

The beating heart. @slimgirljo15 That woman is amazing. I think she operates with a photographic memory. She remembers everyone. She goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome and when you're having a hard time...she's right there.

She's the first person I reached out to on this forum. She didn't know me but I knew she was someone who cared. Really cared. She still does. Nothin' has changed.

MFP is one big puzzle. We all have one piece and when you put us together we are a perfect fit.

Thank you my sweet friend for such lovely words.. I really appreciate it and what a lovely way to start my day 🤗❤

As for the forums, I think they'll continue although maybe paid for some how.. Companies are always chasing the almighty dollar so Im guessing they'll find a way to make it out of us. 😒

@slimgirljo15 Do you think chitchat is going to bite the dust?

I've checked out a few other food forums. :p Dull. Dead, dead, dead, deadski. Not even as interesting as watching paint dry.

Today, I ate a tuna sandwich, 12 potato chips and 2 dill pickles.

@slimgirljo15 No more free lunch. Mmm hmm, I can see that. Wouldn't it be great if they would conduct a survey for some new ideas and not just a few questions. Really get in there and get some feedback from everyone.

That would be great, not likely though. ;)
I can only assume that Francisco partners aren't going to throw away $345m so hopefully improvements will be made.
Im not sure if community is considered part and parcel of the app.. so 🤞
