My son actually gave me attitude when I mentioned that maybe giving my 3yr old grandson M&Ms at night was not such a great idea.
The kid was crawling on me like a jungle gym.
Irritated me a little, I never stick my nose in.3 -
@honey_honey_12 In these forums, you're obviously more kind and patient than I. Hang in there.3

I’m so happy that my son and his family have moved into their new house and that there is a lot of greenbelt for the kids to explore.
My oldest grandson has already fished the stocked pond the neighborhood has.

My grandmother (my current PP) and just how much I aspire to be a sliver of the wife, mother, hard worker, culinary expert, Christian, risk-taker, and charmingly sweet, funny human she is. Like, I'd be grateful for even 1%11

The price of lumber is ridiculous! I may have to sell one of our vehicles to build a few steps 😅1

I lost a little weight, not sure how much because my scale either needs to be recalibrated or replaced. Just enough to make my pants more comfy but not go down a size. Visited my parents and they both said they noticed I lost weight, honestly it annoyed me. Like seriously it's such a small amount, if they noticed that how hard are they always scrutinizing my body? Plus I know I'm going to gain it back in .25 seconds since last week was an eating/drinking nightmare.
I'm honestly already dreading the reactions if I actually end up losing the amount of weight I want to.3 -

Based on your thread--you obsess too much with what people think, especially your parents. Just do you, and forget the others.6 -
Found a mini-golf place this weekend for mother's day (went on Sat.). First time getting to go DO anything since last June! Also got to return to the Korean place on the other side of town for some pickled veggies and BBQ. I'm really looking forward to when we finally get to leave the U.S. and hang out in S. Korea for three years, which we FINALLY got a move date for. It only took a year and a half.

Our contractor was telling us a sheet of plywood was going for $45 last year and is now $90.3 -

YIKES, what happened? Did the trees get Covid, too?
Honestly, it probably is Covid related: sick workers, lack of resources, harder to ship, shipping delays, etc. It's a big laundry list of industries and consumer products that have been strongly impacted because of the pandemic and economic issues.3 -

@snowflake954
Yes, you are right. Easier said than done though. Which is why I'm in therapy lol. But we only just got to the point of talking about this stuff.

So I have an opportunity to move to the States (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi or Tennessee) next year for work. The Wanderlust in me is saying "dooo itttt!" but I have reservations that I'd miss Australia. But it would only be for 2 years or so and would be a hell of an experience. Just something to mull over.13

Why do I have to 'adult' today? Can I just sit back and watch everybody else have fun with that today?3

Do it!!!!!!! 😃3 -
I'm so proud of my son. He just finished his 2nd year of university with A+ in all of his classes. I don't care if anyone says I'm bragging because I am! 😆 These last 2 years weren't easy for my kids and I and he still managed to get grades like this. If you're a parent you know there's no better feeling than seeing your child succeed. My heart is full ❤

I live in MS. There's a lot of good food here and really friendly people. Also, you can charter trips to go watch dolphins, ride an air boat for a swamp tour (or kayak/canoe it) and there's loads of stuff to do in New Orleans (about two hours from where I live).
I know it might be scary, but as a person who travels the world due to someone else's job, do it. I haven't regretted it yet.3 -
Why does beef jerky gotta be so chewy? It's really hard on my jaw (I have a clicking jaw on one side). Good flavor, but the chewing.. yeesh.1

An excerpt from my 21-year-old daughter's rambling reply after I genuinely probed why the values she was raised with aren't - shall we say - always very apparent:
"I'm so surprised you didn't end up cooler after leaving dad. No drinking? No drugs? But then you got the tattoo and we thought, 'Ok, this is it!' Then it wasn't. You didn't do the heels or 'red bottoms.' You just went straight to being normal. Wow. You really lived your life like an actual mother. So weird."
She was really only half joking 🤨 In unrelated news, she also goes back home from her extended Mother's Day visit this evening 😝6 -

Nor do you look like someone with a 23-year-old! As to their reactions; we moms can't ever get it right. But we can be smug should the time come and they ever have their own kids 😂
