Me too! Count me in. I'm 62, been so busy homeschooling my kiddos, now that three of them are in college I think I can make time to do this. I want to lose 30 by June 15, that's my birthday. It would be a very nice present.3
-
A little late to the opening party, but count me in.
6lb lost so far - 24 to go! (For the challenge, I want to lose much more, but this is a great challenge. Health issues prevent excercise - so might be tough!)

I realized I forgot to post! I weighed this last Thursday
Challenge SW: 12/29/16: 216.0
CGW 6/15/17: 186.0
GW: approx. 158.0 (based on initial goal body fat of 23% - Previous goal was 156. I've put on some muscle. Yay!)
UGW: 18-20.5% body fat
Weight loss method: Weighing, measuring and logging all of my food. Ensuring I have enough protein and good fats for satiety. Kettlebell and lifting workouts. My goal is 130g of protein each day and 25g of fiber.
My averages for the week were 125g of protein and 30g of fiber, so a bit short on the protein side. I think I need to keep cooked chicken breast on hand so I have something to eat end of day if I need more protein.
This past week I only had 2 workouts - I was feeling pretty fatigued and my right knee is acting up. I focused on staying active (laundry, housework, etc.). I'm going to workout to today and see how everything feels.
1/5/17: 213.0, -3.0

2/1/2017 206.8, -1.6
2/9/2017 205.2, -1.6
Challenge Loss: -10.8 (More than a third of the way there and 19.2 to go!). I know my rate of losing will slow down soon, but I'm happy with the results so far. I've been super diligent in weighing all of my food and logging consistently, so that helps tremendously.
Welcome everyone one who is new! Keep up the fantastic work everyone!1 -

I am home after being gone for the last week at a conference for work. I learned a lot, ate a lot, and drank a WHOLE lot! I wasn't expecting to lose anything, so I was really happy to have lost a half a pound! Whoo hoo!
For next week, I'll be focusing on really watching what I eat, so I can lose those two pounds to get to the 20 pound mark. Let's do this!
So nice to see so many new faces! Have a great week!

Try the above link. It should get you to the Ticker Factory site. Follow the prompts and create a ticker you like.
At the end you'll be asked to choose a format. Chose the BB format. Copy the line of gibberish in that box. Then go to our 30 pounds by June forum and paste that line of gibberish in a reply box. I think there is an option to preview a post. When you preview your post you should see the ticker. Then you can go back to edit and finish your post.
Hope that works for you. I'll be looking for your ticker.1 -
Happy early Valentine's Day. I'm hoping I don't get any chocolates tomorrow. I have a weakness for them and they will sabotage my efforts. If they are somebody else's gift I can fend off the occasional offer to partake. However, if they are mine I will eventually cave and devour them myself.
I think my plan will be to offer them to everybody I see before my reptile brain takes over and I start eating everything I see. At least I have a plan. Hope it works?????

I plan on giving candy to everyone I see tomorrow! The more everyone else eats, the better I look!3 -
Not my weigh-in day but I wanted to tell everyone how chocolate DID NOT sabotage my Valentine's Day. Managed to avoid sweets all day but I did cave on my Paleo (caveman) diet. We had a new restaurant open in town and it was calling my name. So wifey and me had a lunch date that kind of went off the Paleo track.
Oh well, I'm back on track and hoping there is enough time between now and Friday morning to make a difference. I try not to sneak a peek of the scales between weigh-ins, so we'll see what happens Friday morning. I'll check back in then.

Today I lost 20 pounds, so I did a progression photo. On the left is before I lost any weight, and on the right is a picture I took today. Not only can I not tell that I lost any weight, I actually look BETTER in the left pic when I'm 20 pounds heavier. I am totally depressed now.

No workouts this past week. My knee was still sore and I wanted to give it a few more days. It feels great today and I’m looking forward to getting back to working out.

On paper my loss look great, but it’s not. Some of it was definitely water weight from no longer working out (muscles retain water for repair). Plus, I know I didn’t restrict myself enough to really lose 2.4 pounds (my average daily deficit for the week was approx.. 625 cal.). This is the first week where my measurements have not really changed from last week’s. This next week I would love to see my measurements go down with a modest loss (.8-1.2 pounds).
Challenge Loss: -13.2 (44% of the way there and 16.8 to go!).
This past week's challenge: My husband was traveling so it was me vs. four kids and their schedule. Continuing to rest knowing it is the best thing for my knee. I tend to push myself too hard and get burned out. I’m thinking every 4 weeks I need to take a break with the workouts and focus on stretching, mobility and walking only.
This past week's successes: Solid logging and average daily deficit. More daily activity due to not being so exhausted from working out, plus my knee feels great today! Looking forward to getting in a workout today. Realizing as much as I love to workout hard, I need to be in this for life and can’t risk an injury. Extra effort getting in all my protein for the week.
My upcoming week: My husband is traveling again. It will be me vs. kiddos and their schedule again. I will start my workouts again. I plan to workout four times plus walk. I can’t let the fact that my measurements didn’t change frustrate me. Many times frustration will equal a spectacular fall off the wagon. Not this time! Progress not perfection!3 -

You are being too hard on yourself. There is a definite change! The picture on the left is taken at a much more flattering angle and your clothes are very flattering for your figure (and behind a cardigan). In the picture on the right, you are rocking a shirt that looks awesome (your midsection looks very much improved) and I can see your waist! Your are taking the picture straight on which generally is generally not flattering, but you look great despite that.

Hi,
I see people are still joining this challenge and I'd love to join, too!
I'm a 42 yo mother/wife/artist. Losing 30 pounds by June 15 would be great timing for me. I'd like to lose a total of somewhere between 30-49 pounds, depending upon how I look, feel health-wise and how my motivation is. I hope I will stay motivated and lose the full 49 pounds, but my main goal is better health and to look/feel better in clothing. I need to lose almost 30 pounds to be in the healthy weight range.
I'm on my phone right now, but I will go back and read the whole thread when I'm on a different device in order to make sure I have the rules down.
I plan on logging in daily and my meals are viewable to friends.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!2 -
I'd like to join also!
I'm a 46 year old mom of 3 and I desperately need to focus and lose at least 30-40 lbs. I have bad knees as well as plantar fasciitis in both feet. When I'm at a healthy weight my knees and feet don't have many issues so I need to lose weight for so many reasons! But even beyond that, I am so TIRED of not being healthy. I want to set the right example for my kids on how to take care of our bodies (both with the right foods and exercise).
Very excited to be a part of this!!!3 -

You need to wear similar clothing for your photos and keep the same pose. Your "before" clothes hide the weight, and the bright pink blouse in today's photo accentuates your figure. Your face is definitely slimmer, though.

WOOHOO!!! Finally some difference on the scale. I kept gaining and losing the same two pounds (152-150) for like 3 weeks, but now I've broken into the 140s. I'm hoping I can keep this momentum going, I hate the yo-yoing back and forth4
