Yvonne in TX: Our hummingbirds are Annas Hummingbirds. They used to be migratory but started staying year round several years ago. The boys are brightly colored and the girls are plain. I'll try to post photos. :flowerforyou:
Peach: So, an MFP woman made in into Good Morning America! I wonder how many people will give this a try because of her. It was courageous on her part.
Rita: I've found that Vitamin D3 does wonders for both my thinking ability and my moods. This time of year is toughest because of short days, so I take more in winter than in the summer. I prefer the liquid capsules & buy them at Costco or Walmart. I also exercise regularly. Yoga and riding my stationary bike improve my mood, too.
Heather: We have friends who are parrot owners and absolutely love having a bird. Their bird has the potential to outlive both of them. Providing for a pet in a lengthy hereafter situation is a big responsibility, IMHO. I am not a fan of cleaning up bird droppings, and am completely satisfied with my outdoor bird feeders.
Margaret: Your book on sleep sounds very positive. Can you share the title and author?
Pip: (((hugs))) Losing a beloved pet is hard. Your photos are wonderful.
Dh was supposed to have a follow up appointment with the eye doctor today. since surgery didn't happen I think he'll confine himself to trying to reschedule. The followup makes no sense.

Ladies, I am so excited to share this NSV with you! I've been going to a Les Mills Bodypump class now for a couple of years, first at the gym in La, now at one here in FL. Today, for the first time since last December, I was able to complete the shoulder set using weights!!!
Bodypump is a weight class, using a weighted bar and/or hand weights. The routine is always warmup, squats, chest, back, triceps, biceps, shoulders, abs. The intervals are about 4 minutes, with a 30 second rest interval maybe once or twice during the set. You choose your weight amount. As you can see, shoulders are the last weighted set, and you've already hauled that bar up on your shoulders for squats and back, and the back set always includes clean&presses, which has the bar pressed over your head. So, by the time you start the shoulder set, you've already given them a lot of work.
So, why is this a big deal? Because December 2015 I had a total replacement of my left shoulder. It wasn't as terrible as I had feared it would be, but rehab took a lot longer, since I'd been in pain for so long I'd developed incorrect movements using other muscles to compensate, so I had to re-learn how to use the shoulder properly. I can remember wondering if I would ever be able to lift my hand above my head again. Feeling strong is a wonderful thing.
So -- if you are facing an obstacle that seems unconquerable, or just too damn hard, keep at it!!
Wishing you all a victorious day,
Nancy D in Delray
PS - Pip, your Rocky was a beauty! What a gorgeous smile!9 -

Prayer request - my daughter-in-law was just rear ended by a truck and is in the ER. They are waiting to do a CT on her neck. She was at a stop sign and there was a truck behind her in a car ran into the truck and the truck smashed into her van. The van is totaled.

Yesterday was 2d day of lower dose and my head felt like it was a huge bell, all hollow and ringy. However, feel normal this morning so fingers crossed. Off to my body pump class!
Good luck with the weaning off of Cymbalta. I had a horrendous time several years ago. What you are feeling is quite normal. I also had this "brain zapping" thing going on. I actually had to take the capsules apart and count out the granules the withdrawal was so bad. Wishing you the best!

Handsome hubbies, ladies!
Love the pictures and pet tales (tails? Ha)
Becca - so sorry about your situation with your sister.
Mary - praying for your DIL. It must have been quite a crash to total the van.
Allie - thinking good thoughts for you. I know it is not easy. Been there....
Nancy - Yeah! Great recovery and NSV!
Kelly - your story about the birdie and kitty had me rolling (but not on a lettuce leaf)
Lisa - hoping you get the best offer ever!
Well yesterday was not terrific. My DDIL's delicious homemade fruit cake was calling my name (over and over) I finally had to shut it up by popping the last large piece in my mouth. Bad, bad, bad but yummy.
I am getting ready to start five straight days of work. For a part time retired gal that's a bit much. We're short at work and I do need the $$$ so I'll push on through. I often think of you working girls and how much you do. You rock!

Nancy in Delray: Congratulations! Fitness improvements like yours are amazing successes. :flowerforyou:
Allie: Good luck.
Mary: Sending prayers for your DIL. I hope she doesn't have any serious injuries.
Margaret: I'll look for Sleep Smarter. Thanks for the suggestion. :flowerforyou:
Cheri in TX: The photos you shared are wonderful. You & DH were a gorgeous bridal couple then and now, too.
It is a new year and a new insurance deductible. We have questions about an increase in the cost of DH's MS medicine, but can't reach the insurance provider due to the snow in Portland. They are closed today. :grumble:

Thanks for the prayers everyone! My DDnL is doing fine. She has been released to go home. Snow and ice made for dangerous driving. I can hardly wait to be a Snowbird!

well I am back from the lawyer..gave me good advice..best bet, money wise is to talk to Tom and see if we can go through mediation.. would be much more cost effective.. but if he wants to be a real jerk.. got a few names in my pocket for that too..8

Are any of you having issues with tracking today? I can finally get to the page; but, it won't let me post anything there. Last night it would not save my water.0

Didn't like the feta spinach pie in phylo. It had too much spinach and not enough feta. Not very much flavor and ended up pouring the sauce for my Greek salad over it.2

Hi all! The painter postponed because of the weather (a few snow flurries) and my friend rang this evening to say she had scheduled someone else to be the cancer chemo sitter as she was worried I would have trouble getting there and even more trouble getting home on the train. Can't say I'm disappointed as it is miserable out there, but not impassable. She has scheduled me in for Feb 20th. I could have made it tomorrow, but will be able to use the day profitably.
Too much alcohol tonight, probably through relief.
Will use tomorrow to start packing and do a bit more writing. New chapter about my best friend /blood sister.
We have the painter scheduled for Monday morning and a viewing in the afternoon. Must get ahead with the packing.
Lots of love, Heather UK xxxxxxx3 -
Can't download the wonderful video of Bea. This is in front of a beach hut in Hove. Where we hope to live.
