    Wednesday
    1. concentrate on water :) I am doing SO much better carrying my water bottle with me.
    2. stop with 1 diet pepsi. :/ Still had 2, but better than 4!!
    3. log my food :)
    4. work in the yard :)
    5. write out a menu plan, and stick with it :/
    6. finish tax stuff to take to accountant :/
    7. do not eat at quilt meeting tonite :):) They had goodies, but I had my water bottle! But on the way home, since I had calories left, I was going to get a SMALL shake at McDonalds. It would have been over 600 calories! I ended up getting a smoothie = 250 calories~! And ... it tasted just as good!
    8. remember the positive :)
    9. lay out workout clothes for tomorrow morning :/ Came home from the guild meeting with a terrible sore throat - feels like I'm coming down with a cold :/
    10. get back on here tomorrow - be accountable :)

    Thursday
    1. log all food
    2. carry water bottle with me. Refill it 4 times at least
    3. get out for a walk, if I feel OK. I feel like I am coming down with a cold, so moving slow today!
    4. finish taxes, and take to accountant
    5. sew some tonite!

Feels like I am coming down with a cold, so keeping it simple today

@joan6630 Do you sew things other than quilts? I wish I had a sewing room set up. We have no room for one right now so I haven't touched my sewing machine for a while... Glad to hear you are doing better with the water!

Hope everyone starts feeling better soon. Lots of colds and flu going around. :)

20 minute video :/ Nope. Flu is in the house. I have no energy today and I am just not myself. I must be fighting off the germ.
    8000 steps :/
Log all food and stay under goal :) Ate extra light today knowing I wouldn't get any extra calories from exercise.
Drink 32 ounces of water :)
    Read and study :)
    Tire is fixed.

    2/24
Not sure how I'll be feeling tomorrow. My oldest daughter has the tummy flu and my husband has the head and chest flu. And guest who is playing nurse to both of them. I'll be happy if I can get out of bed and not be as sick as they are.

Thanks Tracie. Yes, I am feeling a little better. But I tried to get out for a walk, and didn't even make it around the block! I think this back and forth with the weather makes many people sick. Today it was in the 70s, but suppose to get below freezing friday nite! Crazy!

Yes, I love to sew -- I think it is my "therapy" time. I'm not much of a TV person, other than background noise. I sew mostly quilts, but I also sew chemo hats and chemo pillows for the cancer center, and doggie beds for the humane society (out of scraps too small to use). I have my sewing room in one of our very small bedrooms, so I don't have a lot of room, but I am fortunate in that I can keep my machine set up most of the time. Before that, I used to just sew on the dining room table. I always sewed clothes for myself and our kids when they were little, but its just not worth it to try and sew clothes. But I do make a lot of quilts - most that I give away. But, at least for me, it is the best therapy time (that and working out in the yard!)

I hope you feel better soon! This is my 2nd time this winter to get sick, and normally I never get sick. This back and forth weather temperatures I'm sure is not helping any. I tried to go for a short walk, and didn't even make it around the block, and have been in bed all nite watching TV, something I rarely do. So hope you and your entire family get well soon.

Good morning! For all of you who are sick, I've stumbled upon an essential oil mix called Thieves Oil...It might also be called "On Guard" (can be $$ to buy as pre-made mix...there are lots DIY recipes online). I make a mix of that plus extra Oregano oil. For the last 5 colds/stomach yuck that have come into our house (with me being kissed and hugged and breathed on/slept with by sickies!), I have been consistently applying it (throat and bottoms of feet--a very absorbent place on body)--AND I have not gotten ANY of it. For those who got sick, it significantly reduced the duration (like a 3 day cold instead of 10). Lots of fresh chicken broth with freshly pressed garlic (very strong antibacterial) is good too! I hope you all feel better soon! <3

@linnea4 - I am so sorry to hear about your little cat. I still remember when we had to put our cat down - they are a member of the family, and it is so hard to lose them. Hugs to you. Also, praying for your husband that he gets out today, and you can take him to his favorite restaurant. But sounds like you have a good backup plan with the cheesecake.

He didn't get to have any cheesecake. They've been on him about his blood sugar. We took it home. We'll have it when he gets out and he's on his regular meds again. (and as I was writing this I got the text - he will get out today)

Take my husband out for a belated birthday dinner (assuming they let him out) - They didn't let him out. Maybe today they said. We'll see.
Record everything to the best of my ability - quick calories if nothing else - It wasn't pretty, but I recorded stuff.
Try not to get too irritated at work - Fat chance - morons.

Bright side - got our toilet fixed (chain came off the flapper and had trouble getting it back on, and bought new runners for our bedroom and hallway (the others were old, and annoying. After our bedroom getting flooded which messed up one, and an incontinent cat laid on the other, yeah - time to get rid of them)

    JFT Friday:
    Chillax (breathe in, breathe out)
Record to the best of my ability (looks like the restaurant is a go... I'll probably quick add about a million calories)

    JFT Weekend:
Clean off kitchen table and paint something, I bought the stuff last weekend, time to use it. (See if I can paint without being guided by numbers or someone at Painting with a Twist)
Enjoy game night (a friend saw me this week and said he might make me something for it. I'm hoping something is bulgogi, because that boy makes awesome bulgogi. (His mother is Japanese, but his stepmother is Korean. Boy can cook like a mofo))
    Breathe in, breathe out
    Do laundry

    Yesterday R 2/23/17
    1) Limit sweets to once per day (a particular weakness of mine) - No, had my 10 M&Ms after lunch. Then with late supper and crummy news about my car, ate 2 chocolate pieces in evening. Not much over my daily sugar goal though, only 8g.
    2) Another 1 hr webinar today, so pace in office during - Yes 4,330 steps per Fitbit
    3) Meditate in afternoon - No, did not focus properly on work in a.m. so needed to keep work project moving forward in afternoon.
    4) After work, oil change and gas for car, choir, get light bulbs at Menard's, wash dishes - No, there was a backlog and only one technician at service station, so there for 1 1/2 hours, and I found out my car needs rear brake pads and rotors for $200 - ouch! Just made it to choir on time, afterward drove on fumes to gas station. Skipped the light bulbs and dishes, those can wait another day. Finally had supper at 7:45 p.m., much later than usual. I did feed the cat and dog before I ate, though.
    5) Floss - No
    6) Bedtime by 10:30 no TV - I feel crummy w/o enough sleep, and make bad food decisions when tired - No, watched several recordings of Jeopardy.

Winter weather has returned, no dog walks on snow and ice covered roads. Bummed! TGIF !!!

Just for today F 2/24/17 - keeping it simple
    1) Limit sweets to daily Sugar goal
    2) Walk on treadmill at least 1.5 miles
    3) Floss

Where do you get the Thieves Oil? Did you find these online? I've been really interested in learning more homeopathic remedies and essential oils but unfortunately I've been working day and night lately trying to get through some very big projects at work so not much time for "fun". I have been thinking about looking into doTerra oils further though. My sister-in-law swears by oil of oregano for sinus issues. 3 drops under her tongue every morning. Nasty tasting stuff. But if I could just put something on my throat and bottom of feet, that would be awesome. BTW, did you just use the Thieves Oil after you were exposed? or do you use it daily as a preventative measure?

    Just for Thursday, I WILL:
    1. HYDRATE :( Nope
    2. Take intermittent breaks away from my desk :( Nope
    3. Take a real lunch break - no eating at my desk! :( Nope
    4. Be grateful for what is, and not sad about what is not... :D I excelled at this yesterday!
    5. Activity - get in my steps :( Nope
    6. Make appointment to get weighed in this afternoon. It's been 3 weeks! uh oh. ;) Didn't get in yesterday but have an appointment made for next Tuesday
    7. Read from my evening books and write 5 things I'm grateful for today :( Nope
    8. Not bring my laptop and work home with me tonight. Be present with my family. :( Nope

    I WILL NOT:

    1. Engage in negativity :D Excelled at this yesterday too
    2. Get off track at work :) Stayed on task although still didn't get everything done!
    3. Eat crap! :/ Well, I stayed withing calorie limit but my goal is to get rid of sugar in my diet and I did break down and eat granola bars last night.

Well, as you can see I failed at everything except staying away from negativity and being grateful. For me, that was huge! If I can get my serenity back and find peace in my life, the rest will follow.

Snowstorm in NE Wisconsin today. Icy roads and accidents everywhere. Ride to work was a lot of fun!

    Just for Friday:
    1. Hydrate
    2. Healthy choices
    3. Finish my "starred" items on my to-do list at work. LIke @slittlemeister said above, don't be perfectionistic about it, just get it done.
    4. Activity tonight of some kind. Doesn't matter what. Just do something.
    5. Soul searching. What can I change in my life and how can I adjust my thoughts to find peace?
    6. Pinterest for ideas to make our house more "homey" and to organize better. That is one thing I can change.

I WILL NOT: bring work home with me tonight.

Have a GREAT Friday everyone! I know I'm excited for this work week to end in about 3 more hours...

@OConnell5483 I just did a bunch of Now Foods brand oils...happened to find a person on Ebay that sold them cheap. If you use that brand, this is the recipe I made up:
Thieves Oil Concentrate: (about 3x recipe to fill 2 oz dropper bottle):
    • 80 drops Clove Bud Ess. Oil
    • 70 d. Lemon E.O.
    • 40 d. Cinnamon Oil (C. zeylanicum...there is another, less $ cinnamon plant, but it is like poison)
    • 30 d. Eucalyptus E.O.
    • 20 d. Rosemary E.O.
Use the Concentrate to fill small 1/2 oz. roller bottle:
    • 220 d. carrier oil like olive oil
    • 40 d. Thieves Oil Concentrate
    • 20 d. 100% pure Oregano E.O
You want to be careful with the Oregano Oil--it is really strong and can burn your skin. Nice to have a roller bottle to put on skin. I usually start hitting the Thieves as soon as anyone of us 9 people in our home start evidencing symptoms....it's not fun to try to take care of sick children if I am down w. it too, not to mention--it has been so wonderful to find a way to stop the cycle sooner. You can imagine how long we could all be sick with just one round of an illness if it had to go thru all of us!

I liked the idea of getting the separate oils to make my own mix, coz then I can use them for other things. When anyone here has sore/strep throat, I have them gargle salt water with about 5 drops TeaTree E.O. and 3 dr. Oregano E.O. per 8 oz water. Use it 3-4x /day, gargling for 3 times of 10 sec. each. Kills it in a couple days.

I'm sure Oreg Oil would work for sinus...a less nasty alternative is to "steep" about 3-4 cloves crushed fresh garlic (v. strong antibacterial) in 1/4 C. warm olive oil. Strain, put in dropper bottle (it keeps for months). Could add about 5 d. Oreg E.O. to that. Rub right on cheek or whatever sinus area...gone in a day or so. This garlic oil is also what we use to treat ear infections--we don't ever take antibiotics.

That took up alot of space, but I hope that is a helpful answer for you and anyone else who'd like to know! Love hearing about your pursuit of Gratitude and NON-negativity!! :):)

P.S., I'm up on Lake Superior north of you...yeah, we're back to snow, ice and wind--BLAH!

I have just started using Doterra. It is pricy but the company has very strict regulations for making sure every bottle of oil is as pure as humanily possible. You can read about it on their website. I am not selling the product and I have no plans to start selling it.

I haven't tried the OnGuard blend yet, but I have had success with the blend I use for anxiety.

    Just for Friday:
    1. Hydrate :( This needs to become my priority!
    2. Healthy choices :)
    3. Finish my "starred" items on my to-do list at work. LIke @slittlemeister said above, don't be perfectionistic about it, just get it done. :/ I did get some of them done but when I submitted them, apparently I should have been more perfectionistic because I have to do them over. Don't even get me started....grrrr.
    4. Activity tonight of some kind. Doesn't matter what. Just do something. :( Fell onto couch exhausted and didn't move until bedtime.
    5. Soul searching. What can I change in my life and how can I adjust my thoughts to find peace? :) Work in progress. I have started with a whiteboard on our refrigerator listing random things I am grateful for each morning. It's there for the whole family to look at every day. I'm hoping this helps with some of the negativity if they can be visually reminded that even the hot showers they take for granted are a blessing that some people do not have.
    6. Pinterest for ideas to make our house more "homey" and to organize better. That is one thing I can change. I did browse on Pinterest last night. No new ideas yet.

I WILL NOT: bring work home with me tonight. :) I did not work last night!

    Just for Saturday
    1. HYDRATE
    2. Keep today simple and just enjoy the day. Read, journal, putz around the house, sew, go to library, whatever I feel like doing.
    3. Continue looking at what I can change and how I can change it, and what things I need to learn to accept.
    4. Try to get my steps in. At least my minimum FitBit goal.
    5. Refocus. My husband told me last night that I have been living to work, instead of working to live. After cancer, I swore I would never let my job pull me back in like that. But I have. I need to refocus and get my priorities straight. This will take some thought and kind of circles back up to #3.
    6. Be grateful for this beautiful but cold snowy day.

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

    5000 steps :)
Log all food. :/ The wedding was an international wedding with a potluck reception. A refugee from the Congo married a young women from our church whose family is very active with helping refugees settle into the American culture. Because of the families involvement with people from many different countries there was some very fun dishes on the banquet table. I have no idea what some of the food was or how many calories were in them. I didn't go over board with piling things on my plate but there was no way to count the calories!!
Drink 32 ounces of water :/ very bad day with water. I WILL do better tomorrow!!

    Really disappointed with this month.
I've not exercised for nearly 3 weeks, I felt I was *almost* over my cold and now I have a suspected cracked rib from coughing?

So my word of the month was unstoppable, but it turns out I am!

Things just keep getting worse, pretty sure I've piled on all the lbs I lost. Don't even want to weigh myself!

    Enjoy my day!!

Think I'm going to put the water reminder app back on my phone and see if that helps. Attending a baby shower today with both my girls and the littles. I love it when we are all together like that. Pizza is on the menu...and I am notorious for eating everyone's frosting lol.

    Have a beautiful Sunday!
