Glad to see you back, but so sorry you've been sick. I've had that before, and know how awful it is. The only plus is the weight loss, but not a good way to lose weight! I hope you feel better soon, and get your strength back.[/quote]
@joan6630: Thank you so much for your concern and encouragement. You contribute so much to keeping this thread going, and maintaining a "can-do" attitude. That support really does mean a lot when you are struggling. And friends don't always want to hear about your exercise and weight loss plans, so I think that's where the support of this group becomes so important. Starting to feel so much better; getting out and doing some fun things--appetite isn't back to normal, but hey--that might be good!4 -

JFT - Saturday, July 29, 2017
1. Log all of my food on MFP
2. Walk at least 3 miles
3. Drink 8 cups of water
4. Do at least 2 loads of laundry
5. Organize my work clothes
6. Start reading my book3 -
Friday
1. go to the gym. Already did this.... and had about 3 people coming all wanting to give me "advice". Things like don't hang onto the bars when using the treadmill (no, I'm going to keep hanging on), I'm doing squats wrong, etc etc. Hey -- at least I am trying!
2. drink water
3. log all food
4. fish fry tonite - so only eat 2 pieces Actually only ate 1 1/5 pieces
Last nite was my 3rd nite of closing the kitchen. I had my bowl of cherries, and got my glass of ice water. My daughter came out with one of those huge cupcakes, but I just told her I was "full", so she ate it all. But boy, after she left, it was as if I wanted to "reward" myself with food because I didn't eat the cupcake. I walked in the kitchen like 3 times wanting to grab some walnuts, popcorn, protein bar, or something, but I didn't!! So for me, this was a NSV. Even when these would be considered "healthy" snacks, they are still calories. I know this is when I get into trouble.
So JFT, Saturday
1. CLose the kitchen after dinner, except for ONE planned, small snack. Going on DAY FOUR!!! My goal, is to do this 7 days in a row, and keep on adding days, hoping I can break this awful habit!
2. log all food
3. concentrate on water
4. finish sewing on quilt
5. mow the grass
6. I didn't get to the gym, so hoping I can get in a long bike ride, or a walk. It is beautiful out today - finally out of the extreme heat wave we have had
7. lay out gym clothes for tomorrow
8. do laundry

Late logging in today.cschmitz110515 wrote: »Recap F 7/28 - It's finally Friday!
1) Day of rest from dog walk, nice to sleep in a little = sad dog, although she sleeps in w/ us too. Move hourly - just found the new Hourly Activity tracker on Fitbit, really shows me how sedentary I can get during the work day if I don't make an effort. = Set hourly reminders to move during work day and I did.
2) Stick w/ prelogged food & plan dinner to keep calories green = Green
3) Evening, deadhead roses and weed some of berm. Loving that we have several consecutive days w/ no rain! According to last night's weatherman, the first week of May was the last time we had 4 days w/o rain. No wonder I've been so sick of dreary summer weather! = Deadheaded and weeded roses 45 min then weeded most of north end of berm for 45 min. Grimey and sticky but so glad at my progress.
4) Bedtime by 11:00 / farmers market no later than 7:30 a.m. = Late supper after weeding then dozed off on couch / not sure when I went to bed.
Sat. 7/29
1) Farmers market not as early as I like & parking a lot worse at 8:30, still able to get most of what I wanted.
2) Walked dog 3.58 miles on gorgeous morning, saw 3 turkeys in woods. Very happy dog
3) Washed sheets and towels / line dried.
4) Finished weeding north berm and made good progress on south end. Boy, the weather has been great for weeds. Meanwhile hubby trimmed front bushes. Then we loaded up containers and took load to yard waste place.
5) Spent rest of afternoon on patio playing Rummikub with hubby.
JFT Sunday 7/30
1) Church 9:00
2) Walk dog
3) Spend time with hubby
4) No bedtime goal bc I'm off next 3 days = wahoo!1 -
Unfortunately, the days of Zoodles are over for me (big no no from the baby, even the thought makes me want to vom... how strange)
Anyway
Welcome to suggestions for alternatives?
Because I've just started eating potatos and pasta etc.
P.S. Zoodles is the US term because they call the vegetable a zucchini. I recently found out the UK term, because we call it a courgette.... COURGETTI!!2 -

After posting my JFT Sunday, I began my day organizing everything to "tackle" for the day and was struck with inspiration to change the entire day. My family has been struggling in many ways as most of my attention is towards school. Therefore, I decided to spend the entire Sunday putting pieces back together and restructuring an environment of positivity. I am feeling very encouraged about the new things I've implemented and I'm looking forward to a more peaceful and positive environment. Two key things, I did not do any Physics school work yesterday (which was a much needed break!) And I was ASLEEP before 10:30 pm!!!! (which has not happened in some time) Everything else would Intel a very lengthy post, therefore I'll sum it up as a new chapter has begun
Moving Forward:
7/31 Monday JFT:
✔Awake at 5 am
✔Completed Physics Lab HW (due today)
✔Devotional time
✔Prep lunches for the day (I do this everyday usually)
Attend Classes
Tutoring
Run Errands (mail, tax office, etc)
Run on elliptical
Dinner by 7:30 pm
Miniature Family Meeting
Physics HW and Online HW (Finish Ch. 28 & 29)
Bedtime by midnight
Here I go.......
Everyone is doing great!!! Hang-in there and BE ENCOURAGED TODAY☆☆☆☆☆1 -
Here is the bean!!!
Thought I was about 12-13 weeks! Turns out I'm only 9+4, we think anyway it's hard to date accurately so early on!!
Doesn't really had arms or legs yet but little stumps or buds the sonographer called it but he/she still waved frantically! Laughing my head off at it haha
I'm over the moon7 -
Recap Sunday 7/30
1) Church 9:00
2) Walk dog = Actually woke up before alarm (again...what?) & walked dog before church on another gorgeous morning. Met up w/ Kim & Bogie, so cute.
3) Spend time with hubby = had a great day
4) No bedtime goal bc I'm off next 3 days = wahoo!
Driving 1 1/2 hrs this afternoon to Mom & Dad's where I will spend 2 nights. Tomorrow is annual Girls Day Out with Mom, aunt, sister & SIL. Tradition began in 2004 when everyone except me went shopping for dresses to wear to my wedding. We've had annual GDO every year since but one (skipped when nephew got married / we attended bridal shower and wedding together instead). The day usually involves shopping, lots of talking and eating, and is always finished with dessert / sometimes adult beverages. Tomorrow I won't be logging at all / giving myself a total break.
JFT M 7/31 before I leave town
1) Walked dog 3.43 miles on another gorgeous a.m. / little sticky....I could get used to these sunny days, but know it won't last
2) Update weekly weigh-in log
3) Update monthly goals / set Aug goals
4) Balance checkbooks...behind again, such a pain with weekly payday & transfers
5) Wash dishes
6) Pack for GDO / remember walking shoes & clothes / planning to walk w/ sister & aunt W a.m.
7) Big hug & kiss hubby goodbye when he leaves for work / won't see him until Th1 -
Weekly Weigh-In = When I'm active I eat back calories / sometimes too much. My weaknesses: my sweet tooth, especially chocolate, and portion control. I weigh myself daily and log weekly / posting my Saturday a.m. weigh-in here. [My digital scale only shows half pound increments.]
Height 5'4"
GW #1: 150
GW #2: 145
Ultimate Goal Range: 140 - 145 [anything less is probably unsustainable]
August Goal: lose 4# and reach 170
5/31 = 180.5 two end of month celebrations
6/3 = 177.5
6/10 = 179.5 pre-10K spaghetti supper night before
6/17 = 179.5 numerous meals away from home, several occasions w/ alcohol, happy no gain
6/24 = 178.0 fluctuated during week, but ended ok
7/1 = 176.0 Yay!!! Achieved June goal to stay <180
7/8 = 177.5
7/15 = 176.5
7/22 = 175.0
7/29 = 174.0 saw at least one daily w-i below 174 so on my way1 -
Sunday
1. lunch with daughter Had a nice time - tried a new breakfast place, but I only had a bagel. Then went to the used book store, so she is stocked up on books!
2. cut out mat to go on steps, so we can recarpet them
3. laundry
4. log all food
5. concentrate on water
6. CLOSE THE KITCHEN tonite --- going on DAY FIVE!!!!! I had to close the kitchen early! Got into ice cream, so I was way over my calories I wanted to be. Lesson learned (again), eat planned meals. On the weekends, if I don't site down and have lunch, I tend to graze. Today it was on ice cream! But .... I closed the kitchen at least for the rest of the day
7. lay out gym clothes for tomorrow morning I did this, but didn't get to the gym this morning -- just really tired, and decided to maybe take a rest day
JFT, MOnday
1. lay out gym clothes for tomorrow
2. go to zumba tonite or for a walk since I skipped the gym
3. log all food
4. kitchen is closed ALL DAY, except for meals and a planned snack. Especially after dinner - LOCK THAT KITCHEN! Going on DAY SIX!!!!
5. brush and floss teeth after dinner - water only
6. drink water
7. finish up on quilt

* Walk Packers 5K on 7/22 in < 48 minutes Chip time 48:10 and pace 15:31 / not bad for warm & very humid, not my favorite conditions
* Log food on weekends, and pre-log food / snacks as much as possible As of 7/31 I have 155 day streak on MFP. Would not have been possible without my fellow JFTers! All of you have really helped me keep on track, even when it's not good especially to log on weekends. Thank you!
