Looking for friends who don't eat "clean" and healthy

Feel free to add me everybody I don't eat perfect either. Today I had a Philly cheesesteak and I do not regret it at all lol28

If unhealthy food is what you need now and then go for it. I am the same way. I fell off the wagon last time and gained back what I had lost because I had been told I needed to be 100% all day everyday! I've been eating healthier (80%) and have my snacks here and there and a cheat meal once a week and guess what. I'm feeling so much better. I feel like I can actually do it!
If you're not happy it won't last, so might as well cheat within your calorie range when you can21 -
I still drink beer on the regular lol. It's about moderation!21

My brethren!
All that eating "clean" stuff is part of the reason I've never been able to keep the weight off.
I eat whatever I want now in moderation. Today that meant an orange, tuna with some crackers, a handful of pistachios, a granola bar, chicken soup for dinner, and now I'm about to eat some chocolate....cause chocolate.
In the grand scheme of things I'm sure this chocolate won't kill me or hurt my health.25 -
My only health problem that can be helped through diet is being obese. That means I need to eat fewer calories than my body burns. I can get those calories though pizza, brownies, and beer if I like. I will admit that I should try to eat more vegetables. They are like 10 calories. It's not like I don't have the caloric budget for them. I'm always looking for new friends.19

Am I late to the party
I have a varied diet and eat everything I like, just within my calorie parameters. I'm in excellent health and am one of those 'special freak snowflakes' that's actually maintaining successfully, go me lol.
Great thread Op!15 -

I just ate pizza and I'm polishing off a glass of wine. I also ate pasta at lunch. I've been STARVING today, so lots of little snacks. Some "good," some "bad." Though I've basically eaten back all my exercise calories today (see: STARVING), even if I have a cookie or make a cup of hot chocolate before bed, I won't go over. And I'm really not ridiculously far over what I try to hit, day to day. It's MUCH easier for me to eat what I like in moderation, than to eat a bunch of stuff I don't like!19

This cracks me up. I don't understand why the quoted has to be mentioned. No one stated that they eat "junk food" all day every day. What OP was getting at is nutritious plus treats, or all foods in moderation. Nothing wrong with that. I find the quoted quite amusing and dramatic. Once still can be physically (and mentally) healthy including all foods in their diet. For some, including treats in their WOE actually helps them adhere to a deficit.
It is of a healthy mindset to eat foods without labeling them "good" or "bad". Demonizing foods can lead to orthorexia.
I eat processed meat substitutes and I eat fresh spinach arugala broccoli tomato celery carrots etc...and I eat chocolate covered fruit and frozen fruit smoothies...and I eat cheesecake fiber one (processed GASP) snackbars....and I eat lots of stuff. lol.
I've never tried those fiber one bars, but I really want to! It seems like a great way to hit the fiber goal. Do they taste good?
To be honest I just started trying them. I bought the strawberry cheesecake ones and I like them after putting them in the freezer for 30-60 minutes! IDK why they taste better to me that way. I always had super low fiber like 10-15grams per day was my high so I decided I needed to supplement somehow. This seemed as simple and useful of a way as any.5 -
I LOVE THIS POST!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I didn't have anything special today because I'm still recovering from the weeks around Christmas/New Years but best believe I will enjoy some tacos and tamales next weekend!!
Omg tamales? Share the love! lol Any rajas con queso?3 -

I do make an effort to eat mostly plants because they're tasty, cheap af and good for you. I also like to eat a small bit of chocolate because it's tasty.
Ugh I love plant foods but I find my foods go bad quicker than I can eat all of it so theyre expensive for me. I get full easily on things like fresh spinach but I love it as a meal addition.2 -

Oooooh I like that sass!!! On a Sunday too! Sassy Sunday!
PSH! Please.... I'm sassy everyday!5 -
Skyblueyellow wrote: »Actually, I would argue that it is healthIER to eat processed foods (etc) as a part of your diet if doing so keeps you on track. The least healthy thing would be to cut out and eliminate any food that isn't deemed "clean" or "good for you" and then give up. I don't think anyone here is getting the majority of their calories from Twinkies or ice cream multiple times a week.
So yeah, I eat all the foods. Yum! Nothing is off-limits as long as it fits into my goals. And you know what? Lots of times me working my "treats" into my day means I strive to be EXTRA active.
So tell me again how eating within your macro and calorie goals while also fitting in treats ruins my health. I'll wait...
This is exactly how I feel! I can't do it all fresh. Life is so stressful daily for me... I can barely keep up as it is and I am lucky to get 5 minutes to sit down and eat without being interrupted. I don't have time to cook 5 separate meals so my kids come first. I'm sure some people get their calories from ice cream lol Im not one to judge!!! I don't eat twinkies because of the beef fat (not vegetarian) but I do eat Otis Spunkmeyer creme cakes (the chocolate ones are amazing) every now and then!2 -

My philosophy is eat, pay attention how you feel, record everything, study your results, and don't let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't do. Now, I am off to go eat some potato chips.
HA! I'm the opposite. Whenever I go to buffalo wild wings I literally PLAN to eat like 4000calories (or more?) Lol. But if its 1 day in longer than a month of time it will not kill me or even ruin my weight loss! I have proven that by losing 25lbs in less than 10 weeks. So obviously I'm doing fine pigging out once in a while. My usual calorie goal is 1200.8 -
All so many good points!!! I cant even quote them all but I agree! Lol.

I had chocolate ice cream and a beef empanada this weekend! I also ate a ton of veggies and chicken breast. I can only lose weight if I'm eating all the foods, as long as they fit into my allotment.9

I'm normally not into the bars/etc but the Oats & Chocolate one is super yummy. My favorite way to get fiber in, and it tastes almost like a chocolate treat! Well worth the calories if fiber is what you're looking for4 -
This morning I'm going to have leftover cheesecake factory french fries with an egg on top for breakfast. Did it yesterday ,morning and it was so good. And luckily the evil unhealthy stuff hasn't caught up with me yet; ran 5 miles through snow yesterday and am down to two pounds under goal this morning.16

There's more of us than you know! We just tend to hide because of 'em clean eaters...
Although I do tend to be a bit of a food snob (for those things I cook from scratch), my diary is littered with easy convenience food... too lazy to prep something for lunch, so microwavable from the nearest gas station it is.
and chocolate because... well... chocolate.13
