Over 200 New Year New Me Part 26

I bit the bullet & stepped on the scale this morning. No 2... whew! But too close for comfort at 197.whatever it was.
For some reason I feel good about yesterday (I have no reason to and I'll tell you why). I had pizza for lunch and then I had a slice at work last night because I was starving. Then when I got out of the gym I wanted nothing more than vegetable maki and banana pudding... so that's what I had. But that's the first time I've "made it" to the gym in 1.5 weeks. I only had 30 minutes before they closed by the time I got off work & got there so it would've been really easy to use that as an excuse not to go at all. But I got there and I busted my balls on the elliptical for 30 minutes. I thought my hips & quads were going to fall off. It's good to be back. I had also forgotten a sports bra so that was another good excuse I didn't use. I marched my forgetful behind right over to KMart and grabbed one. It was priced $11.99 but when I got to the register it range up $1.99!! :noway: You have no idea how happy that made me. $1.99 for an awesome sports bra. It's so much better than any of the other ones I have. Too bad that was the only one they had or I would've gone back and grabbed about 5 more. You know I love a bargain. :drinker:
The eating the same calories every day thing just isn't working out for me mentally. Turns out I'm really motivated by "earning" those exercise calories. So I'm now at a 1260 base (to lose 1.5#/week) +exercise cals. I'm going to stick with that as strictly as possible this month & see what happens. I feel like I've been having too many "off" days lately when I don't exercise and I don't keep my calories down enough. In July, if I want to splurge I *have* to work for it. No excuses.
I like you attitude..I am doing the same thing. If I want cake - I have to work for it...lol
I love bargines too.. sometimes kmart put clothing for kids really cheap. I bought jeans for my son for 25 cent..I grab the last 3 pairs.0 -
Blue - I am sory about your friends...that is just awful. But i know what you mean about puttin perspective...A friend i went to HS with that is on my face book (haven't seen her since highschool), but he husband died last week (age of 39 ), from a infection in his heart...just made my heart break, i couldn't even imagine.
Julie - Congrats on making it to the gym with all your obstacles and hooorayy for the 1.99 bra...!!!! and the no 2##
The weight is slowly coming back down, unless it isn't that dreaded 27# this morning, I am up only 3 lbs instead of 5...hopefully these other 3 can come back down in the next 2 days..
I haven't slept good for several days...I worry soo much i need not to but i do ...I am soo nevous /worried about the appt today with the ENT. My biggest concern is he is going to tell me that he doesn't care what the pscy says he isn't taking her tonsels out....I don't completly understand the scientific stuff regarding the tests, so don't want to get into an argument with him cause i have no clue what i am talking about...If he questions, i guess i will just say to call the pscy...
I wish hubby could come with me but i know he can't :sad:0 -
I am so tired...no sleep again yesterday. My son is driving me crazy sleeping ontop and next to me the whole night, plus my husband thinks he is sleeping by himself in the bed..hogs the bed and the blankets..ugh!
I feel TOM coming so I am extra cranky today. I have been slacking off lately. Maybe it's do to the weather but I feel like crap all the time...lazy as hell. I don't feel like doing anything. I have to force myselfto do my workout scedualed or else I will forget and say "oh well" sorry for all the rambling..
checking in
calories: I think I went a little over 1290
exercise: just dance on wii...one whole hour + 60 minutes of cleaning my house ( but I didn't count those calories burned)
water: not enough
proud: can't think of anything right now to be proud of. I
I though I would do so much better when the nice weather rolled around ( comparing it to winer weather) but with each hot day that passes I feel so much lazier..what gives! why am i doing this to myself..self sabitoge...I feel I am falling off the wagon..I need motivation to get my *kitten* up and do my workouts.
thanks for reading my vent.
love ya0 -
does anyone know where I can get a battery for my bathroom scale?0
-
elmox-I hear ya on being all over the place on the scale. It's frustrating! I'm right here with you!
Blue-I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That's terrible!
LilDebbie-Hope the appointments go well today.
POS Me-Sorry you didn't get much sleep last night again.
LIttleSpy-What a bargin! I wish I could go to Kmart or any store really and buy a sports bra. But noooo I have to buy mine online. Congrats! I know you like a bargin!
Cris-Hope you are feeling better today.
Well I feel like I'm still in a funk. I have lost all motivation. I was going to workout last night but I decided I needed to go to the grocery store and buy food instead. I bought lots of good for me stuff AND I cooked dinner. Haven't done that in awhile. And thenI felt like being lazy so I let Mike come over and laid on the couch all night. He had to do some work so I passed out on the couch. Lazy bones! Hope today is a better day. :grumble:0 -
Julie- I like the idea of "working" for your treat. I have really let that concept go. When I used to have "cheat" meals or days I would at least go to the gym to make up for it, now its like ...eh take the day off...Thanks for the reminder that the damage wont be as bad if I eat poorly and go to the gym! Such a easy thing to remember, yet so hard to implement these days
Blue- Thank you for sharing that story, you are absolutely correct, it does put things into perspective. Im sorry about your friends.
Lauren- I am up 3.6lbs today too. I dont normally change my ticker unless I know I have eaten enough food constitute an actual weight gain (not just water), or if I have consistently been at a higher number for 2+ weeks. I wouldnt change yours quite yet!
Deb- Dont stress so much. I think you agree that taking her tonsils out is your best bet at this point. Worst case scenario is that this ENT wont do it, and in that case you just find one that will! It may be more work but I know you will get it done, thats the type of dedicated mother you are. On the other hand he may just say lets do it and you are worrying for no reason!
I'm up 3.6lbs (less than yesterday by .2...yay!?) So I am happy my dinner binge didnt cost me a gain this morning.
I am sooo tired. I have had a stuffy nose, that bad cramping and to top it all off my parents woke me up at 1230am because they are out of town any their alarm had gone off in the house and they needed me to go check on the house and meet the police. I live about 20 mins away from them and when I got to their house the police were gone and everything was fine. The cat had set it off...I was too tired to be mad, but boy am I mad now! Ok...no still tired lol
be back later to stalk0 -
Thanks for the support to leave my ticker as is.

Good morning all!
I really feel like I have my motivation back after last week and this past weekend. I am ready to go to the gym and work it out!
cris - I hope you feel better today, but I agree that a GYN appt is probably necessary anyway. You should always take care of your body so it will take care of you.
lildebbie - Please let us know how the appt goes today, I will be praying you get the answers you need and want.
POS - I have the same problem. I have a califonia king size bed and I ALWAYS end up at the very edge! my wonderful 2 year old daughter just loves to sleep on me instead of next to me. I know I should be more diligent in getting her into her bed, but I just adore my sleep!
Jess - I think the heat and all that goes with it is killing our mojo. Summer is just so hard to stay focused because by the end of the day, I just want to get in the pool on a float and relax. It's too hot to stress about every morsal that goes into my mouth! You can push me and I will push you. How about a fitness challenge? Anyone?
Stats:
Cals: way under 600 or so
water: 100
exercise: 600 cals at the gym!
proud: nothing in particular, just in a great mood!0 -

exercise: good - 1 hour of step class
water: not so good - had diet pepsi instead
proud: that even though I started to derail at suppertime by snacking on chips while making supper for my son - I stopped and skipped supper because I was already full
good days chain: +
ok ... 1 good day! I'm going to start a chain of + in my check in info - to try to chain some good days together.0 -
cris - sorry you are still feeling bad and having to go to your parents house..that would of erked me ..thanks for the words on my appt...i am a over stressor (since hubby doesn't stress, i guess i feel like i have to do it for both us )
I am not making it to the gym at lunch (due to the appt), but going to water aerobics tonight...not very many calories though..selective eating today  , i usally have exercise cals everday 350+ so when i get only a little i feel soo deprived...my base is 1460 but usally end up like almost around 1900 cals a day, and have been eating all of them...but i do like julie though...of working for my calories...
Funny, the other day hubby only had like 20 calories left, but wanted something else to eat, so he went and got on the elliptical we had here so he could get some more calories to go eat.0 -
A little weight-related funny for you: http://www.lamebook.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/top-pics2.png0

[I definitely could go for a fitness challenge!!
[/quote]
My biggest challenge right now is the elliptical. I am going to challenge myself to do 20 mins on the elliptical. I can ususally only do 10.
Whatever your least favorite machine or exercise is I challenge you all to double your length on. Will this work for you?0 -
ok so this is probably a silly question, but how do you do that quote thing???0
-
I think Im buckling down and paying the $20 per month for my son to be in daycare at the gym. Scheduling going with Bobby is not working...he coaches my step son's baseball and football team so his weekdays are filled with practice. I try to work around it but sometimes he's home at like 830 at night and expects me to go to the gym then. Im sorry but if I get home and sit down I am not going back out! I HAVE to go straight from work or its not happening.
I'm in for a challenge...I think Ill just do the old 3-600 cal workouts challenge though. Day 1 today!
kerri- for the quote instead of pressing reply you click on "quote" under the person's quote and it will do it for you...ok I didnt explain that well...lol anyone wanna take a shot?0 -
I like the 600 calorie burn 3 days a week challenge again....w9d1 here I come tonight! Wish me luck ladies!!0

LOL I gotta do something to get my butt going again! I gotta finish this c25k. I just HAVE to!! I'm scared too don't worry. 30 minutes!? REALLY!?0 -
I am all in for the finess challenge...my weakness is the dang treadmill..youw ould think it is walking and i do that so i should be able to handle it....but no i can't !!! I can do the elliptical , the arc trainer , spin class for all like an hour, but ask me to walk/run on the treadmill and i die...
I am not going today but tomorrow , i will get on the treadmill, even if it kills me...and do more than the like 5 minutes i do when i get one now
Cris - I don't blame you if i had to wait till after 8 no way i would workout . I love our gym soo much, some of the 24 hr fitness charge for day care , ours doesn't. I am hoping the one when we move next summer doesn't either. We take them all weekend when we go friday night, sat morning, sun morning and then also on wed night...It would be soo much harder if we didn't have day care there...Me and hubby go to gether and we like doing it together so if we couldnt' we may not be as motiviated...
of course i hate they have a 2hr limit, so if i take them earlier we can't go back, or i can't do like back to back classes0 -
I'm back ladies:happy: [though I won't officially start logging calories until tomorrow..my house is not consistent of very healthy items at the moment]
I had a notification on my facebook that it's been a month since I've logged.. Which lead to some comments on it but for some reason one of the comments struck a nerve enough to make me look at why I started this in the first place and in order for me to fully better myself I need to get my self in shape mentally and physically. Now that mentally has been taken care of I'm ready to physically start kicking these extra pounds off my derriere
I've missed you all!!0 -

Yeah I saw one of those comments and was going to say something but didn't know if I would start some drama! Glad to see you back though and glad to hear you are feeling healthy emotioanlly. That's just as important! welcome back!! We've missed you!0 -
TMI!! Holy smokes!! I must be releasing all the water I been retaining! Geeze!! Already 4 trips to the restroom this morning and only 6 cups of water. This is NOT normal for me! Maybe I'll see some more numbers drop off the scale!! AHH!! :drinker:0

dear traveling sister pants weight loss thingy....like Blue says,
I'm not sure what to do about the dress for my wedding (end of October) and I need your advice.
I could go and try on dresses now and maybe buy a size or two smaller than what fits me now OR wait a while, leave it till the last minute and I'll be able to try on more styles & more designers. Most of the dresses I am interested in only go up to size 10 and I should be a size 10 by October. I wouldn't even really be able to try any of them on as of today.
I'm torn because I don't want to stress at the last minute but I also don't want to settle for a dress I don't love.
I don't want a "wedding dress" and so I'm planning on just buying an off the rack dress and getting any necessary alterations done.
What's a girl to do?0 -
Good afternoon! I'm back, with a 6 lb. gain. This morning the scale said 197.8 and it's WAY too close to 200 for comfort. Considering everything I ate this weekend had a TON of sodium, I'm going to work on flushing with water and just see where I'm at on Friday.
I'm in on the three 600 calorie workouts this week. I severely need to kick it into gear. I just got my new boxing DVDs in the mail and will try to fit one of those in after my 30 Day Shred workout tonight, after volunteering. Yes, I'll be working out at about 9:30 or 10:00 pm!
On the plus side, I am finally the owner of a tankini and I feel good about it! I tried on about 100 suits before I found one that fit AND looked good but now I can't wait to wear it. If the weather permits, it sounds like we'll be boating with friends on a local lake and I'm so looking forward to it. I find it weird that I used to hate summer because of swimsuits and shorts, but I lived in shorts and my swimsuit all weekend and even went shopping at the mall in shorts, tank top and flip flops yesterday and it's wasn't even sweltering hot. I'm beginning to love summer. Then again, I used to hate winter because of the cold but after I discovered snowshoeing, I'm in love with winter. I think it's really amazing that I feel like I'm fully living life the way it was meant to be lived regardless of the season!
Cogirl: Congrats on the addition of Janie to your family!
Pos_Me: NY sounds like a blast. I love spontaneous trips!
lildebbie: I'm glad to hear Tracy from Biggest Loser was herself on the show and not acting that much. Now we know it can't be THAT scripted! I agree that if it were Daris, I'd totally go talk to them. I'm hoping I'll get to run into SunShine since she grew up in Richfield, MN, where a good portion of my friends live and/or graduated high school from.
Miranda: Welcome back! Hopefully you're ready to work hard after the time off.
Julie: Congrats on having no double chin for your license!
Jesyka: Welcome back! I'm glad to hear you're getting back on track. I was worried about you.
Bluenote: That's so sad about your friend's tragic holiday weekend. It is a good reminder that as long as we're doing our best, we should be proud of ourselves and enjoy the time we have because we never know when it will be gone.0 -
meook- Ive been diving head first into this wedding thing...and most places tell you to go as far in advance as possible to get your dress. Between actually ordering the dress, getting it in, and alterations it could be months. You are getting married THIS October right?! lol...Im in panic mode for you! I know you have a picture in your mind of what your dress looks like but Id go to a few different places and try them on. Even if they are too small now you can still try it on, they jsut wont zip it up. Also, supposedly wedding dresses are cut bigger for the purpose of alterations so you may be able to fit in a 10 you never know until you go! I plan on looking prob end of this year beginning of next year and my wedding isnt until Sept 2011...
Heather- welcome back!!!!! I still hate summer
Jess- sounds like the scale will be kind to you tomorrow! Yay!
I NEED MOTIVATION FOR MY RUN! ANY ONE HAVE GOOD QUOTES TO SHARE?!0 -
cris - sorry you are still feeling bad and having to go to your parents house..that would of erked me ..thanks for the words on my appt...i am a over stressor (since hubby doesn't stress, i guess i feel like i have to do it for both us )

I hope the appoinment goes well Lildebbie - I am the worrier in our family too. My husband doesn't worry about anything, so I worry double about everything. My poor 9-yr-old is just like me (maybe even worse) ... when we left to go to his soccer game last night he asked me if the doors were locked, dog inside, and toaster unplugged. Poor kid, takes after his mom. :ohwell:0 -
Cris - are you feeling better today? did you go to the doctor?0
-
Cris, here are your motivational running quotes for today!
"In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that."
-Fred Lebow, New York City Marathon co-founder
"Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it."
-Oprah Winfrey
"Running is a big question mark that's there each and every day. It asks you, 'Are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong today?'"
- Peter Maher, Canadian marathon runner
"Ask yourself: 'Can I give more?'. The answer is usually: 'Yes'."
-Paul Tergat, Kenyan professional marathoner
"The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start."
-John Bingham, running speaker and writer0 -
lstpaul-The story about your son had me cracking up! I'm a worrier too!
Cris-I was looking for some quotes myself. I will see if I find anything good and share them with you
Meokk-I would go and try on the size 10 and see how close you are to it. I would really hate for you to be in panic mode trying to find a wedding dress and have to settle. I already ordered my bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding. Y'all are getting married the same day. Too funny!
Heather-Glad to hear you found a tankini you liked and are enjoying summer! I have been loving summer too this year.I was walking around the campground in cotton shorts and a tanktop and flip flops. I felt naked. They were these cheap old navy $5 shorts. Basically like "cheerleading" shorts. Felt like my *kitten* was hanging out. I kept asking if it was and telling my mom I felt naked. Weird! Enjoy the lake!0
