Wow, sorry I've been MIA. Nothing like starting a challenge thread and then disappearing. Nice to see over 100 new comments on the thread upon my having enough time to check in. Just been a crazy month for me with work (started a new contract and it's very busy with work, meetings, travel) and various injuries (shoulder and foot). And then once you get out of the habit, you forget to do them (seriously, I think I forgot for an entire week that I needed to do planks this month...duh!).
Great to see so many successes, from the beginners to all you hard core (pun intended) pros. You all are aces!
So, I thought I had done more this month before falling off the face of the earth, but apparently not. Today was a big challenge catch-up day for me (worked on ~4 challenges that have fallen by the wayside due to work commitments including this one). Probably won't make the goal this month, but did put a dent in it today (I'm sure I'll be feeling it tomorrow). We'll see how far I can get in the next few days.
Here's a full update of where I stand...
1 February: 5 minutes (2 x 60 sec - straight arm; 2 x 90 sec - alternating sides)
2 February: none - headache
3 February: none - busy
4 February: none - worked late
5 February: none - sore shoulder
6 - 24 February: more excuses - work, injured foot, etc.
25 February: 15 minutes (5 x 60 sec - straight arm; 5 x 60 sec - alternating sides; 5 x 60 sec - dolphin/pike)
Total: 20 of 60 minutes

No surprise, super sore today, so wanted to mix it up. Tried a DareBee Killer Core Plank Workout...yea, could only get one set done (and had to break it into parts), and then added a 45 sec elbow plank to the end to get up to 4 minutes. Should have had a clue it would be hard when "Killer" is in the name of the workout.

If anyone wants to mix up their workouts a bit, here's the DareBee Killer Core Plank Workout. Those with shoulder problems may want to skip the Up/Down planks though...wasn't friendly toward my bad shoulder. The DareBee site has a number of plank workouts and challenges, if you are looking for alternate workouts.

When I signed up for this I never thought I would be able to do this. But I really wanted a challenge. I thought I would likely give up, but I was going to try. I am so glad for all the encouragement. I started at 15 second and thought I would die. I am now up to 3 minutes (only have to stop once), am feeling so much stronger and can't wait for the challenge next month. I think I could get all 60 minutes next time. When this month is over, how do I find the new challenge? I just happened on this one the first time and I don't want to miss the next one. I am still in awe of some of you with 8, 10 or more minutes, but I will get there.4 -

Decided to rest today on the planks in preparation for the March challenge. Ended up with a little over 100 minutes. Towards the end of the month I realized I wasn't really pushing myself as much any more, so I'm trying to up my goal for March and see if that helps. Look forward to seeing you all there!!4

If I can bring myself to do 17.5 mins tonight I could make 60mins - not my goal. But the challenge goal nonetheless.
So 10mins, or more before squash and the rest after! hmmmmmm

Congrats to everyone who hit or exceeded their goals this month!! Y'all are awesome!
Meant to do a couple of minutes of planks before I left to go paddling today to at least get to 30 minutes, but forgot until I was driving to my launch point. After the paddle, I'm too exhausted to attempt, so I'm calling it a month...See everyone in March!
28 February: none - long paddle (4+ hours), too tired

Finished the month with 94 minutes. I was worried that I might not meet my goal of 90 minutes because of the short month but I made it!3

HAHAHAHAHAHA did it!
admittedly I went to forearm planks on knees again for the majority of the last 20mins. But the shakes through my core were quite something! (and I can actually hold the forearm on knees plank for 2mins, so that is a new acheivement)
feeling proud!
ETA: but gods, coughing hurts!!4
