@patrikc333 "Saucony guide 10 are perfect, better than women. I'm in love with them" - I got the Guide 8 & 9, but although they are great, I definitely would not compare them with women ... why can you not have both, or even women also wearing Saucony Guide 108

I'm working on your option 1 and havent thought of option 2 because I'm too busy on working on option 1 and my brain is distracted4 -
Fabulous run today! I wouldn't call it a Zen run...then again maybe it was. All I know is that I woke up feeling completely refreshed and ready to go after my 3 mile long(ish) hill-fest yesterday, which was a real surprise. I was supposed to be kaput after that. So I headed out at something near a steady pace (can't call it that because my cardio is not dialed in yet). The last half mile was paced even faster than the first mile with the overall pace being under 13 minutes for the first time since starting up again. Now to see how I feel tomorrow. If this keeps up I may have to tweak the plan on some way with either higher intensity or more distance. Cardio is coming back, hooray!!
3/4 - 3 miles
3/5 - 1.5 miles

So I haven't updated since Thursday. Friday I took the day off from running, and yesterday I ran 14. Low mileage this week since it was a down week. Yesterday was lower mileage, but it was a faster run. I ran a few mileage near GMP and had a fast finish for the last mile. This week back to high mileage but need to add some speed in the form of threshold tempo miles.

Good read for those that struggle with where they are speed-wise. Most of us have been there are some point, but that doesn't make you any less of a runner.

Apologies. I realised it's not fair to mention shoes without a bit of shoe porn to gaze at.
The new kinvara 8's (tested with a mile in a treadmill- very comfy) next to some grubby Go run ride 4's. Good to bring a new pair into rotation!7 -

@iofred & @patrikc333 - lol I don't think I've ever heard shoes compared to people. I think @patrikc333 was on a runner's high and upon reflection later on would prefer a woman to shoes.
I had a biking weekend. It was perfect weather. I am going to do that Solar System run one day this week too. Sounds cool. Just not sure which day I can do it.

4.05 miles in 39:36 (9:46 min/mile) today on the trail. At 13F windchill, it was a bit colder than I've been running in lately, but I dressed appropriately and was just fine (if a little be warm). I increased my interval length a little bit in this run and ran intervals of 1.5 miles, 30 secs recovery, 1 mile, 30 secs recovery, and 1.5 miles. I know that I've definitely lost some endurance/cardio, but I was still a little disappointed at how hard this run felt, especially in the last interval. I know that it will come back as I rebuild miles, but I just have to keep reminding myself of that. I have 6.9 miles to run in a marathon relay 6 weeks from now. I was hoping to be able to be back to where I can run that continuously by then, but I may have to adjust my goal for that as I get closer. Today is the last day of an anniversary sale at my local Fleet Feet, so I'm going to go check out what type of deals they have.

Ran my long run of the week this morning on a lovely indoor track at a local community college. My running friend came with me and a few others from our group joined along the way so it was quite enjoyable and not the monotonous grind that I thought it might be. And so much more pleasant than facing the horrible wind chills outside. I'm kind of feeling like a sucker for not doing this more this winter
Hoping for more hospitable temps in the upcoming week, but it's not looking great.6 -
My longest run yet 16km!!

The dogs could hurt someone or get lost/hurt themselves... I loved the visual of you running in a mild evening with the pink blossoms against the evening sky
Maybe I need to take some tape too and fix a note to the fence. I like that hill (in a "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" kind of way ), so I'll be back sooner or later...
I love the pelican photo!
Here's one I took of my pink blossoms at night:2 -

5 Km Stretch & Recovery after yesterdays 19km. I was definitely feeling it as the first 1.5 were so sloooow as the kinks slowly worked there way out of my muscles. Of the 4 ladies I ran with yesterday only 1 made it out today.
Typical Sunday group - it's an un-official rest/shorty day for pretty much everyone 5-10 km is the normal range.

Had a very long, very hard 5.25 mile run today. I slept like *kitten* last night on my mom's couch, being awoken by her cats several times. So the energy levels weren't stellar today, which made the run feel like death.
I might have a walk later... Garmin says I still need about 4,000 steps to meet my daily goal of 15,000. Stay tuned.5 -
Hi all,
New to the group and still beginner in running. I liked the idea of the group and excited to join . My goal is to run a total of 80 Km by end of Match starting from today and I will update you guys with my progress here.
Stay motivated and wish you all injury-free runs.
7th of March 5.3 Km
12th of March 5.7Km
Total: 11km
Target: 80 Km
Stretched Target: 100Km
Time is ticking need to go for long runs6 -
I just signed up for my second marathon!
The Geneva marathon, in eight weeks. I ran the half there last year and am still getting their newsletter; and when they send a mail that the prices will rise another 10CHF at midnight, I impulsively went and signed up right away.
I had been thinking about it for a while already, but kept telling myself that it's an aweful lot of money for a single race. And since I ran a marathon last year, I no longer have to prove to myself that I can, so there really is no good reason to do another one. But if I *save* money by signing up today, that's a different story, right?
To celebrate that, I turned my planned 29km run into a 32.3km run instead today. I don't usually run in miles, but thanks to this group I know that 20mi is the "magic distance" in a lot of training plans done in imperial units, so it seemed fitting. Plus the weather was lovely: 13°C and sunshine, just perfect for running!
That leaves me with 70.3km for the week, 99km for the month so far. I might have to up my goal a little from 200km for more, if I want to be ready for that marathon. Or not, since I know I probably won't get a chance to run on the last weekend in March. I'll have to sit down soon and do the math...
Upcoming races:
7th May 2017: Geneva marathon16 -

I would say an easy run... and based on heart rate, it was. Temps were decent around 35F-40F, but the constant 20 mph wind was very unpleasant. Total of 8.34 miles with mixed terrain and some hills.

Sesamoiditis is still there but not quite as bothersome as it was two weeks ago. I'm forgoing my favorite thin wool socks in favor of thicker socks for more cushioning until it subsides. That achy knee I complained about yesterday? Not even a thing today (pizza WORKS!). Instead right quad (specifically rectus femoris) kept cramping up along with some oblique soreness if I tried any thing beyond a slow jog. As soon as I slowed to a walk cramping immediately disappears. Hopefully it's just fatigue.
I had TFL and piriformis pain this time last year. . .6 -

Real Goals: Stay healthy. Train well toward Boston. Run well at the USATF Masters 8K Championship in Virginia Beach.
Today's notes – The plan today called for 60 minutes easy, but Coach offered a Boston simulator run for club members running Boston (also open to any members just interested in it), with chili afterward. The base route was 9.2 miles, with options to add or chop distance depending on need. I saw the route on a computer screen, and ran with a first-time Boston qualifier who knew the area better than I did. End result was an average pace of 8:15, a bit slower than I would have run on my own. A that pace, my heart rate stayed under control even with a lot of elevation change:
It was a good simulation. The steep drop early let us practice technique for the drop at Lower Newton Falls. On the way back, that was a steep uphill similar to the last big hill in Newton. And there was a lot of up, and up further to simulate three miles of mostly uphill in Newton. What it didn't have was the flattish and gentle downhill that makes up most of the distance in Boston; but it did well for the interesting terrain parts of the Boston course.
Phil had been training indoors a lot, so later in the run he told me to keep going as he slowed on the uphills. I circled back to run with him a couple times after doing that, and the run was lots of fun. Then there was good conversation, chips and salsa, chili, and Mexican chicken soup. Can't beat this group of people.
