Back to the Emergency re the pain which is still there, the Dr gave me a prescription for higher dose codeine. The painkillers work fo a while but then pain returns, he said take them every 6 hours not 4 hourly ????
Will try to get an appointment tomorrow with my own surgery and try to get a referral DH says we will pay privately if necessary but when I checked online we're talking about £5000
Main worry is going to Spain on 16th and don't want to be in pain and don't want to cancel
Need to see if there's anything I can eat which will help I believe beets are good

Janetr: Hannah looks like a doll. Congratulations.
Heather: Thanks for the Bea fix. Looks like the dogs are helping your son's social life.
Had a call today with my two girlfriends who are helping plan our trip to Italy. Today we decided to cut a couple days out of the week in Rome, and visit the Amalfi coast. I am so excited!!! Wish we didn't have to wait till October. But don't cry for me. In exactly 22 days I'll be jetting to Honolulu, so will get my ocean fix soon.
hugs,

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Good Evening My Dear Friends,
KarenVA, what a beautiful picture of Olivia and her mother. It looks like the feeding tube is out?
Debbie, I know it gets discouraging when the weight doesn’t move for a long time, because I’m there. Mine hasn’t move for over a year except for slightly up. But I know once my body gets used to this new weight (60 pounds down) it will eventually start to move. Hang in there and keep on keepin’ on.
Kelly, the reason you deserve the praise for your exercise is that many of us don’t do all those squats, crunches, planks and jumping jacks every day. I started at 230 so I know how it feels and I’ll tell you that getting to 170 is wonderful, even if 150 is my goal. (I almost said 150 was my goal.) I don’t know why my body decided to stop at 170 then vary a bit after a year but I know I will eventually start to lose again and all you ladies are part of the reason.
Becca, your tracker is TMI. And stop bragging!!!! Lol
Joyce, great suggestions to Donna. Yes, there are so many opportunities to help others.
Marni, every time I see your goals I wonder how your blood sugars are doing? I’m so thankful to be off of diabetes meds and have mine under control.
Kate, glad you went to the doctor. When I had gall stones I waited too long and ended up with pancreatitis that had to be cleared up before they could do surgery. Once my gall bladder was removed I have never had a problem with what I eat. Take care.
Beth, so glad you are back on track. ((((Hugs))))
Rori, sending prayers for your niece. That is so sad and something a mother should never have to endure.
Ginger, I ‘m glad you can eat/drink those things. That just looks and sounds awful to me, but then to each their own. Great job on all those check marks on your accountability post. Woo Hoo
Chris, a huge congrats on getting to your goal. That is so very exciting!!! *Doing happy dance for you*
Lanette, I’d shop at Maurice’s all the time if I could wear a size 11. LOL
Leigh, good for you on passing up the calorie heavy lunch and staying home. It’s not always fun but it sure pays off. Wish I had done that today but at least I didn’t have that much. Good girl.
Heather, you are right that Bea’s smile always brightens a day. I can’t get over her hair growing so much. She is such a doll. Can’t you bring her to SC for a visit??????
Pip, I love the picture of the cat and the dog. (Floyd???)
Heather, love the picture of your son and his greyhounds. My best friend from college adopted one and it was the fastest thing I have ever been around. They looked like dear without horns when walking around in the house. lol
Yinka, please don’t get discouraged. The scale will move sooner or later. If we are eating healthy then we are healthy. Bummer about the ticket. Glad you are over it.
Allie, so sorry the Android Box won’t work with your internet connection. I was anxious to hear more about it. Ppffttt
Janetr, OMG what a beautiful child and she really looks more alert than a 1 day old. I hope we get more pictures as she gets a bit older. *hint, hint* I love her onesie.
Sarah, my mother had Wearever cookware that she used forever. It’s an old and very good line!!!
Rori, what an exciting trip. I can’t wait for all the details!!!!
Kate, if you need surgery I hope you can get it soon. The recovery for me was very easy even after having the pancreatitis.
to any Newbies. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.
DH wanted me to go to brunch with him this morning at one of our favorite places that doesn’t have good choices. I tried to get him to go alone but he didn’t really want to. Sooooo I went and the only good thing is that they didn’t have their normal bacon which is crispy and to die for. I still didn’t eat well because they have fantastic biscuits but will stay within my calories for the day.
I’m so excited for all of you that are losing weight and exercising properly. I send love and hugs to all and want to let you know how much I appreciate all the sharing that you do.
Sending love, good thoughts and sunshine to all of you.
I Love you

Rori your trip with your girlfriends to Italy sounds wonderful and a trip to Hawaii isn't too shabby either! If we can, we will try to get to Hawaii next year, as DMIL says it is on her and my bucket list! My only problem is scheduling/paying for it, but it will be worth it!
Cooked some beautiful lentils and made a nice salad for the week. Currently roasting a chicken and doing laundry, many conflicting yet beautiful aromas in my house right now DH is turning a corner, starting to feel better, now on to a good night's rest for a productive, positive work week.

Got really sick yesterday afternoon and finally went to ER. 6 hours later transferred to hospital in Dallas. Diagnosised with small bowel obstruction. Feeling better after pain meds.

DJ, good to know and thanks a lot! I can't wait to cook in it. My former non-stick is not looking good. So tomorrow is weigh day so hoping it goes well. I am a little nervous to start my work week as I am supposed to find out if the restructuring of my position is going to be official and I will have to tell my staff. I have been in the position 20 years so it is a big change for everyone but it is the right one.
Wishing everyone a good night. Love all the pics! Keep them coming.

Hope everyone is having/had a good weekend by whatever standard you call "good".
Honestly if the hubs wasn't pushing me this weekend I would have spent the whole time sitting on the couch crocheting. But push he did. We ran several errands both days. Went to the gym and did strength training and cardio both days. Our son came up from Houston for overnight. Mainly he needed a haircut. I cut both his and the hubs hair for like forever. Nice visit. I did have to speak to him about his health and weight. He is only 26 yo and needs to attend to this area. I simply asked him a "favor" would he start to attend to himself now that his move to Houston is settled and he is comfortable in his new position at Deloitte. He knows what to do as he was a health and workout nut back several years. He had a panic attack at a gym once and just hasn't been able to move beyond that moment. He is on several medications for that and I know they don't help with weight gain. He knows what to do. Maybe seeing the success I am having will inspire. I won't lecture.
Speaking of success I have reached a new low: 181.2 lbs! I feel the 17s just around the corner! I've also had a NSV in that I have more interest in my wardrobe since like forever. To celebrate my success I ordered several new colorful and patterned tops from Kohl's. Goodbye all you solid colored XL Ts!
Busy week ahead for me. TAMU Women's Book Club on Monday morning. Our speaker will be Liz Mertiz from the Brazos Valley Society of Children's Book-writers and Illustrators. Tuesday evening is the Library Book Club where we will be discussing the book Mornings On Horseback by David McCullough. The story of the child who became Theodore Roosevelt. A good read. Wednesday is a tour of the OPAS at TAMU which presents professional productions of theater, music and dance programs for lovers of the arts. We will be getting a backstage tour. Thursday I have a lunch date and then in the evening Adult Coloring at the Library. Friday is free and then my daughter arrives for a week visit from VA on Saturday!
I am in the middle of several afghans and quilts for Project Linus. Also, I am busy creating more Pocket Letters for my paper crafting pen pals. I don't think I have embraced my creative passions this much in many, many years and it feels great!
Things are going well for the hubs. He has made quite the impression on the professionals and students he comes in contact with at TAMU. He is awaiting word on a salary adjustment. Due to that we cannot make a decision on purchasing a home or continuing to rent. Our rent went up and we only have a short while to let the landlord know if we are staying. The timing of all this is not to our advantage. Not much we can due. Working for the state he is learning how very, very, very long it takes for decisions to be made.
I love all the pictures everyone is sharing. Especially all the little ones! I always have you ladies on my mind. Take care of yourselves my friends!

She had to be delivered c-section, she was feet first. She weighed 8 1/2 lbs, 21" long. Obviously Dad is an avid fisherman, he had a pink and a blue onesie made. Because they already had three boys, they chose not to be told the gender ahead of birth. I'll post pics as I get them but they live in CO, not all that far from Charleen, I think.

Janet, Hannah is beautiful. I love the name. I briefly considered it for my daughter, but it didn't go well with our last name.
Cherim congrats on the new low numbers. I love buying new clothes and confess to going a little crazy myself. I think it is deserved.
Thanks to Pip for the fur baby fix and Heather for the Bea fix.
Yinka, parking tickets are a pain, but to get one while at church just seems wrong! I have only had two speeding tickets in my life. One was on the way to church and the other was taking kids to a church related event. The traffic cop was wearing a WWJD bracelet. I still like to think that Jesus would have given me some grace, but maybe not. Perhaps he would have thought I needed to learn my lesson and slow down!
Kate, get those gall stones out, sweetie!
Becca, I think I'll pass on borrowing your tracker. It would just be too depressing, and that's all I'm going to say about that.
Beth, I've been meaning to tell you how happy I am to hear the news that your mom is better.
SueB, yikes! Take care of yourself.
I hit a MFP weight loss milestone. 50 lbs. I had Dave take a picture for y'all then did a collage of my progress to date. Here it is:

Heather - I love it when you share pics of the grands. Bea is a cutie pie. Love the pic of your son with his rescues. I hold people who do animal rescue in a special place in my heart.
Pip - Looks like the cat is whispering sweet nothings to the dog. Adorable.
Janetr - Hannah is beautiful. Love that full head of hair.

Katla & Sue So excited for the two of you to meet tomorrow! Should be fun, can't wait to see the photos.
Kate UK Ugh bummer about the GB. Sorry you have to go through that.
Cathy in MI I was one of the people who said Vit D helped my knees. No, I don't have much, if any, arthritis in my knees, but I was so stiff and sore in the mornings that when I let my little dogs out, I had to take the front steps one at a time, like a small child. One morning about 2-3 weeks after starting Vit D gelcaps I realized I had just sauntered down the steps without thinking a thing about it, no pain, no stiffness, just walked on down those steps like I owned them (which I do). I stood there looking back up at the house slack-jawed wondering how I had gotten down the steps without grimacing and mincing and groaning...you get the picture...it made a world of difference for me. I didn't have my levels tested, I just started taking it because I knew I didn't get that much Vit D in my diet, or via sunshine exposure. I would like to emphasize that Vit D should be taken in gelcap or gummy or liquid form, not tablets, because it is fat soluble and not very bioavailable in tablet form.
Heather OMG that Bea! Can't get enough of her, she is so stinkin' cute!!! And I like the grandgreyhound pics.
Yinka Whaaaaaaattt!?? I can't believe someone gave you a ticket while you were in church! That is just wrong!
Janetr Awwwwww! Hannah is adorable! Love her little fascinator!
Rori Enjoy your travels! And thanks for Reiki for Olivia's kidneys and overall health. She is improving every day. Jury is still out on the kidneys. Prayers for your niece. I lost a daughter in 1992 in the third trimester. I know Heather and some others here have lost children.
DJ They put the feeding tube in her nose but I think they will pull it soon, as Olivia is learning to nurse.
NYKAREN So glad your husband is better...
Sue What the heck? Why did you have SBO? How are you feeling? Sending healing thoughts & prayers.
Sarah Ontario and PIP Best of luck with your work issues.
Michele
Cheri Shhhhhhh!!!!! Don't tell Roz, but I have snuck into her suitcase. See you soon!
Kay Wonderful photo series. You look fab!
Olivia We are waiting to find out if baby warrior princess is holding her own with her kidney functions vs needing more dialysis. Also how well she is doing nursing/keeping breastmilk down. Will report back once we know more, in the meantime, thanks for all the love/prayers/reiki/healing thoughts. xoxo

Katiebug, you look so good. I assume the one picture is one when you are getting your PHD. Why do they always have strange looking (hoods)? I'm not even sure that is the proper name for the head gear.
Lanette, some one said something about pen pal and that sent my mind thinking of other things you can let God use you. There are so many people who need a pen pal, inmates, servicemen, students. The list can go on and on.
Michelle, brought over a full cheesecake for my birthday. EEEGAD! It was one of those from a grocery store that has about 4 different kinds. We sent several slices home with her for her room mate and boyfriend.

Ha, ha Karen! I know that by not going to her this time I will miss Cheri/Karen time! Not to worry though as I will be back at a later date. Miss ya!

Got all my bookkeeping done! Yeah! The downside was sitting in my office for 7 hours, not moving much. When I was done I strolled around the grocery store and came home to make a yummy mushroom soup.
Barbie, no need to worry about me getting too thin, my BMI is 25, the upper end of healthy. It would take losing a limb for me to get to19.
Time for bed.
Sweet dreams everyone.

I had a really great day today. DH & I drove to Vancouver Washington to the Washington State Horse Expo held at the Clark County Event Center where we met Sue in WA, & her delightful daughter Molly. We had a great time watching the experts on horse training, and getting to know one another in person. I'm so glad we were able to meet them there.
Here is a picture of us taken by my DH.
