Becca, a suggestion which has helped me: go to the "help" part of MFP and type in your problem - there might be a quick fix - not sure if there is a tech on call this weekend but they can generally get you running. Good luck!

Becca – I also make a list of items and estimate what they’ll cost; when I get to grocery store, I write the cost down, rounded up to next dime. I usually can ‘count’ the number of items in my basket and multiply it by $4 and be pretty close, too. But, I have had to ask the Clerk to take off a few items for being short. It used to make me want to ‘drill a hole through the floor’ and fall through it. NOW? I have no shame! LOL! I do ‘try’ to buy something that we’ve never eaten before and ‘try’ it. Most times we are pleasantly surprised. Other times we both turn up our noses and do the cat and tongue movement trying to get the ‘taste out of our mouths’. YUCK!
I will buy chicken or hamburger patties or pork chops in bulk and then wrap them individually and mark them with date, item, and weight.
I found having to ‘log in’ on my cellphone extremely frustrating, I finally got the hang of it; but, it is still frustrating. I try to ‘log in’ in the AM for what I ‘think’ I might eat during the day and then go back and adjust.
and Barbiecat - Computer and laptops are a real P.I.T.A.!!!!! Cellphones? Well, they're small enough to sling across the room (and then hope they land on something soft).
Beth – I love 3 of my 4 MDs; I tolerate the 4th one because I have no choice. Last time I went was the first time I felt like he was taking time with me. Maybe because the reason for my visit was because I had had a seizure a few months earlier. He is only in town 2, maybe 3 days a week. The partner only sees ‘emergencies’; but, not any ‘new’ patients and not any from her former partner (who was my MD).
Joyce – I try to write my passwords out; then, some that I don’t use the accounts very often, I forget them.
Rori – Love the “All I Need to Know …” picture!

We just love our family doc. I had been an RN for several years when he was a 1st year Resident in the Family practice Residency program here. One of our universities has long been a part of IU Med school. We are in the process of building a full extension of the medical school and will be quite a draw for Evansville. Anyway, it was a 3 year program and I got to watch Dr. C grow up. Well, the poor guy never got any taller. He is quite challenged in that department. But he was the sweetest guy, wonderful bedside manner but nurses learn that in addition to bedside manner, you also have to judge his nurses station manner. That's something most faciliities don't report about. His handwriting was wonderful, at the end of his order sheet he always wrote 'thank you' then his name. The year he was to finish, our hospital was in the process of dropping the traditional Blue Cross Blue Shield eveyrone had at the time. Also my girls were at the age when I didn't think they needed a pediatrician anymore. I was done having babies so I didn't need my GYN. So us and most of the staff signed him up as our doctor. Last month when I was having a recheck from my anemia with Dr. C, he had a medical student with him and as usual, my mouth went rambling and I told him about what Dr. C was like as a resident and how he always wrote thank you. Dr C nodded and said that you need to remember those people who are going to carry out those orders you have just written. He is 60 now and thinking about retiring. He is not listed as a provider on our insurance so we have to pay extra to see him but it's worth it to have someone you know and trust and who knows you. The reason our insurance dropped him???? He does things like cut nails, remove simple things from your skin, etc. They don't like that. They want you to pay to see a specialist.

Rori, I love the advice from the dog. My dogs have taught me to love without keeping score.

Pip: I love your doggy photos.
Heather: Happy UK Mother's Day!!!!! :flowerforyou::flowerforyou:
Barbie: Happy Birthday!!! Thanks for the reminder about Vitamin F. This group is a lifeline when we need someone who understands. :flowerforyou::flowerforyou:
Becca: Thanks for sharing your food organization system. I agree that you do an amazing job.I'll look for coastalgosgal.
Beth: I was amazed that the AARP came right out with this in the March AARP Bulletin. These are few headlines from the article 50 Great Ways to Live Longer: 1. Consider extra Vitamin D 2.Cut back on pain pills including ibuprofen & naproxin.. 3. Pease go to bed.....30. Get a friend with four legs ...40. Find a woman doctor... 42.Take the stairs every day 46: Better yet, walk 49: Get fidgety 50. Read the AARP Bulletin. (They threw in a little nudge their way.) DH did switch to a woman doctor and I liked her so much I switched to her, too. I was already seeing a woman doctor but wasn't satisfied and chose to switch.
Today's riding lesson went well and Arrow was a good boy. I will not have lessons for the next two weeks, but I can still go to the stable and ride. This is a huge blessing from a generous stable owner, Arrow's human. The second weekend there will be a clinic at the stable on teaching your horse to cut cattle. I may go. There will be a fee to pay the presenter but I don't know how much. I'll talk with Arrow's owner about it if I'm actually available then.
On another topic--the river is deeper and I wonder about the hummingbirds that usually roost in the blackberry vines that grow below the bank. A lot of their favorite roosts are probably underwater. I hope they've found alternate shelter.

Dessert/craft auction was a success. My simple batch of Baklava sold for $60! My husband donated an afternoon of fly-tying lessons for fly fishermen ... it went for $200! These people are crazy in their generosity! I won an intense bidding war for 16 handcrafted cards that were made by a woman in her 90s ... they are beautiful in their detail! Also bid on and won two jars of beet pickles, a plate of some kind of pretzel/chocolate thing (for my son who can't have eggs) and a beautiful vanilla cheesecake with red raspberry sauce. My husband and I each had a sliver of the cheesecake ... delicious ... but I'll be freezing the rest in individual portions for use at another time.

Joyce – My GP is like your Dr. C; I call him “Dr. Cutie Pie”. He is so cute!!! I told him once that I thought his wife must be very lucky to have him as a husband. He looked up, laughed, and said … she’d probably be willing to put him out on the street if he ever had the flu again. He was out of the office for more than a week. I understood that … my DH has to have a procedure on Monday, and we have to BE there at 7:05am. OMG, I won’t even have time for coffee!!!!! I also have BC/BS – so far all my MDs are on their preferred provider list. I did have to go to a ‘lung MD’ for my last ‘sleep apnea’ tests. But, when I have to have another one in 5 years, I will go to the hospital to have it done. His bed was hard as a ROCK, the hospital’s were one of those sleep number beds. They put on a lot of wires to my body; but, they were also bundled together so getting them ‘unplugged’ was just a matter of pulling a plug. At his office, I about wet my panties before the nurse finally got me unhooked. She must have not been watching the cameras or listening because I had banged on the headboard for 2 or 3 minutes.
Beth – WOW! That cheesecake sounds delicious! I love cheesecake. I make a mean Cheese Cake Pecan Pie … very rich; but, very good!

My Mother was a HS English/Lit/Grammar teacher; and this would have been 'exactly' what she would have said to me; and, what I would have had to respond back to her, privately OR publically! My DMGD got a whipping (or being slapped at) when her mother misprounced "salmon" ... then she said, "Well, I am only doing what Nana used to do to me!" That is when I wanted to 'pinch her nose off' ... I don't 'think' that she realized that, more than anything, it had embarrassed her mother to be corrected by her. When DOS said, 'She's right; you are not pronouncing it correctly." I thought we were going to witness WWIII.

Hi Gals,
Re – that is a great NSV!!!!
Barbie – happy happy birthday to you!
Heather – London to SFO – fly in to California, I don’t have any plans over Easter, I’d love to have a girls weekend!
JFK – I was in Kindergarten and I remember everyone crying and not understanding why…. And my mom in her way, saying someone I did not know died and not to worry about it…even as a little one I knew something was wrong in what she was telling me, cause everyone was sad, wasn’t until years later that I learned about JFK that I put together the 2 events…
I have a new-ish sat/sun (which ever works for us) gardening client, who is really interesting – she’s a retired history and government teacher at the high school level (Advanced Placement).. my 3 private gardening clients are all really well educated and interesting and most of the time hang out with me while I garden in their yards – So I have this gal on the weekend, Tuesday is a retired nurse and her DH who is a nuclear physicist, Thursday is a retired librarian and her DH is a retired ophthalmologist - so I get quite an education while I garden… today was civil war…not really my time in history, but fun to hear about; she is a very good teacher.
Smiles

OK I can access the site, and have it bookmarked on my silk browser. Its not the app, so I will have to load my food diary on computer, because of the small print. Its doable.
