Humans are not designed to drink cows milk

Excuse me, but my father worked his *kitten* off for years as a dairy farmer making milk for AMERICA.
How dare you come on here and try bruising farmer's reputation! That milk is made to make not only milk, but yogurt, cheese, and countless other products you eat.
How about you spend a day with my dad, on your knees putting milkers on cows at LEAST twice a day, getting kicked, being hot and sweaty, doing your JOB, and making a living?
You are a selfish PIG for posting this. You are a disgrace and I hope your children, grandchildren, and your grandchildren's children LOVE milk just to piss you off!
Excuse me while I go THANK my farmer of a father.
What next, you gonna bash him for farming corn too?
Get off this site.
This, I grew up on a cattle farm for beef. Next farm over was a milk farm. Real farmers do not kill five day old male cows... Real farmers do not harm their main source of income. Go spend a day on a farm a REAL farm. Not one that you see on tv, youtube or whatever...
How is assuming every farm is the like those you are familiar with different from assuming all are like those with bad practices?0 -

These were first links I just copied after a google search of Holstein cattle (for the city people, this is the breed most widely used for production of milk. YES, there are different BREEDS of cows...huh. Who knew?)
They aren't pregnant to produce milk...the cattle were BREAD that way. Nor are they killed after 5 days for being 'boys.' (wow, just wow!)
Please....visit a REAL farm before slandering such things you obviously know nothing about.
Sincerly,
South West Missouri girl who was RAISED around REAL beef cattle, dairy farms, and chicken houses. :flowerforyou:0 -
I could really care less what other people eat/drink. I know what I provide for my family and teach my kids to eat. Heck, the way I see it, if it wasn't for MFP and the members here, I wouldn't have as much knowledge of what foods to avoid.
I joined this site not to lose weight, but to see what other people were eating to bring them here to lose weight. It has helped me purchase and grow better food.
So to the unhealthy eaters, I thank you for providing me with your open diaries and being part of the statistics I am trying to avoid.
Guess I fooled you, then. Nothing I logged caused me to need to lose weight - it's what I eat in order to lose weight. Pass another box of TastyKake Butterscotch Krimpets, please. Oh, and the Ben and Jerry's - they go well together.
What's a krimpet?

OMG. I want one now. I spent most of my years in high school drinking orange soda and eating butterscotch krimpets.0 -
Ewwww.... poor cows. When they're too old to give milk, they're shipped to slaughter. I live by dairy farms I'm sorry, but these cows are lucky to see day light maybe twice in the year... calves are shoved into trucks and then shipped across the border. Yep, my brother in law used to truck them across. And when they're 'down' in the truck, you just zap them with the electric wand because they can't cross if there's an animal 'down'. Milk is gross. So is the industry shoving the fact that it's good for us down our throats. And we fall for it. What will they do next? Tell us that jumping off a bridge is great? Oh yeh, let's all go do that too, just cuz' THEY say so.... Same with battery cage hens. Cruel and gross. But so are we as humans.
Anyways, enjoy your milk. Everyone has the right to believe what they want and do what they want. But when you get sick in the long run, make sure to blame it on something else. Because milk is good for us, remember?0 -
We totally need a Krimpet thread. This milk topic has gotten boring...0

your right.... we shouldn't. **** it.. let's EAT THE COW!0

why do they kill (ALLEDGEDLY) the boy calves at 5 years? do they make meat out of out??? not sure why they would kill a perfectly good animal just because its a boy.. they'd have to make some use out of it. i mean really, even veal is sold.0

Agreed...MFP needs more Krimpets.0 -

Did you know that in order for a cow to produce milk she must be pregnant. The cows are KEPT pregnant year round to produce it. The girl calves are kept to raise as new cows & the cycles starts again. The boy calves are killed as young as 5 days old as they become useless to milk production. 5 days old. Separated from their mother & killed because they are a boy.
Think about THAT when having your cows milk. The dairy industry won't tell you that either.
Hi. PETA called. They asked you quit embarrassing them.
PETA embarasses themselves without help....0 -
Am I the only MFP member that has never worked on, lived on or by, or have a close relative that owned, worked on or lived on a dairy farm? I feel so alone.0

Really, cuz the cows around here see "daylight" about 18 hours a day.0 -
> Suggest humans are not "designed" to drink milk
>> Support drinking processed (read: not in their natural state, don't remember the last time I saw an almond come in liquid form from nature) milk alternatives
>>> Insult people for consuming GMOs.
Congratulations to you for either being a super awesome troll, or just plain ridiculous. I'll be over here enjoying my dairy AND dairy alternatives while eating what fits in my budget and diet plans. You can go ahead and obsess over nutrition labels and what the government/PETA deems "healthy" for you.
I'll be out living my life.
Edited to add emphasis on the word "obsess".
Also ETA: Not directed at the OP, but the lovely individual toting his excellency with eating whatever his "unhealthy" counterparts on MFP don't. :flowerforyou:0 -
We should only drink human milk.0

LMAO!!!0

Has someone started the TastyKake thread yet?0
-
Wow...the misinformation is insane...O_o Some of it made me LOL.
I don't drink milk because I don't like it, end of story. I still use it to cook with depending on what's being cooked. Otherwise I use my almond milk because I prefer the taste.0 -
Either way this thread is pretty interesting.0

PETA embarasses themselves without help....
Yes they do.0 -
PETA stands for "Please Eat The Animals" and "People Eating Tasty Animals".0
-
This is almost as bad as my ice cream bed thread yesterday... almost.0
-
This topic is about drinking milk, not about the treatment of animals (in one propaganda video). Got join a PETA forum. Please stop trying to spread your political agenda on a health and fitness forum.
Hi Shill, welcome back, good to see you spewing trash from your snack hole....again....now go take one for GMOs again, eh? You've earned your paycheck today son.
Lolwut?
Actually, I've seen comments like this in response to opposition to conspiracy website comments.
Just a bit of advice: not everyone who disagrees with your view is a "shill"...
...and to claim that undermines support for you argument (however tenuous that may already be).0 -
Phew! I think this thread finally ended.
Now I can go have some milk and cookies.0 -

Who's Mike & what does he have to do with whether or not humans are designed to drink cows' milk?0 -
I find it quite sad the number of people who can't understand that we were never designed to drink milk from strange mammals
To those of you unable to understand I am sorry0 -

But your mother was a stranger when you were first started breastfeeding.
and what do you mean by "designed" when we were not designed but rather evolved?0 -

Good thing we weren't designed.
I thought I ended this thread a while ago! What gives?0 -

By your first six words, I really thought you were going to take that in a different, way more hilarious direction0
