Janet: Hugs To you! I hope Jack's procedure goes well.1

Janet ~ So glad your husband found out about the problem before it was too late. Hugs for both of you and praying that they will be able to take care of it.
Going to get the oil changed and car washed today. Hate that chore but looking forward to a driving a cleaner car. Black covered in yellow pollen is not very pretty.
Kelly ~ You are a blessing to all those families. From all you tell us that you do with the children, I would love to have had you as a day care provider.
Congrats to all of you who are losing/maintaining! I am just trying not to gain any more. I think there is no hope for me to get down to a more appropriate size.

Hey Ladies,
It's Wednesday already!
Being back at work - great seeing my peeps but I've let myself fall totally off the wagon. Walks have crept to a minimum, eating in the tank: amazing to see how quickly and easily getting back on the sugar derails me.
Will only give them 5 hours today then will hit the shoe store and FINALLY see about getting waterproof walking shoes. If they don't have any that work I'll postpone until fall - right now all the summer shoes on are display.
So, I have three nice peppers in the fridge - red, yellow, orange. Will be home in time tonight to roast them I think, and may pick up a handful of Brussels sprouts and a sweet onion to chop and toss on the cookie sheet with them. Originally thought of making quinoa/bean/feta cheese salad and adding one but I'm burned out on that.
Allergies not so bad right now - of course haven't been spending much time outside.
Here's something to help motivation:
Dana, I think Dolly is leading the pack! Anyhow, I know I need to get over some hurdles and keep chasing my goals of good health!
Have a great day everyone

Cheri: Congratulations on the new milestone! Love the tugboat story. I would go with a massage incentive!
Marcelyn: Poison sumac is really painful; hope it clears up soon!
I was happy to find that I was down 1.3 pounds at my weekly weigh in despite my weekend getaway. That makes for a total of 48.3 pounds - closing in on 50. My goal for this month is to increase my walking.

Good morning all!
Lanette Love the hound and hurdle picture!! We all have hurdles! I don't drink enough water. When I do I do so much better.
I'm posting pictures of myself from last June at my highest weight ever. 294 lbs; after back surgery. Then today at 268. About 75 to go! Yeah me!!
First picture: My daughter Jessica, Yoga instructor in Panama City Beach, FL. She's something!!

Hi all, I'm on the train and using the train WiFi. Better than it sometimes is.
Sending lots of love and healing to Janetr 's Jack. I know it's a real worry, but it sounds like they will take very good care of him. My mum had a triple bypass at age 81 and recovered well. Seeing her terrific spirit changed my relationship with her. .
I have great faith in surgeons.
We had a call from the Hove estate agents today as their client is getting itchy. Can't blame her. I guess they are preparing us for her pulling out and putting it back on the market. Not yet, but it's in the near future. Nothing we can do about it. I am still doing the lottery.

Question- What is a chigger?
A chigger is a microscopic mite. You can't see them they are so tiny. Despite what people think they do not burrow into your skin, they just insert a feeding tube to feed from. Long explanation of enzymes etc I won't get into. They are related to ticks but it is the larva that attaches itself to you. Or tries to. They wander around for a couple of hours so a soapy shower can rid you of them if you know they are there. Also a good insect spray repels them. I did neither because they didn't even cross my mind.
Chiggers live in areas that are often undisturbed. Like fence lines and the vines I was pulling. I have only found them in humid climates but think they might be everywhere.
The chigger bites itch like the dickens but the poison sumac is more of a problem as it is spreading.

Back in for a sec here....
Dana, way to go!
Marcelyn, I remember chiggers from my childhood in Indiana - poison ivy, too. We don't have any of those things out here in the Pacific Northwest on the "wet" side - a few mosquitos.
I've been invited to a Lularoe party! Mid May! One of the little (short) gals at work wore a darling knit dress to work and I thought... that would make a nice top on me since it looked very comfortable and would be long enough.
She said it was Lularoe! That sealed the deal. Today I have on a Zulilly top that's a cute print. Very comfy. Love the 3/4 sleeves.
Later ladies!

machka: I understand wanting to be at the low end of your BMI range. My official MFP goal is a few pounds higher than where I want my weight to be. I want to keep a margin of error below my actual goal weight because I have a bad knee and this helps it function much better.
Pip: I'd return shoes that hurt, too. $170 shoes ought to feel like heaven. :grumble:
Marcelyn: I am sorry about the poison sumac. I hope you heal quickly. :flowerforyou:
Margaret: I hope your window is fixed ASAP. You have waited far too long for this to be fixed. :noway:
pitegny: Congratulations on your loss!
Heather: I'm so impressed that you still have friends from school days. I wish I could say the same. We are supposed to have our 50th HS reunion this year. I hope I get to go. There are people I would love to see again.
Machka: Your fitness level is enviable. We have a two-story home, but I never really considered how many flights that becomes per day. It is a tiny little drop in the bucket compared to what you do regularly. :flowerforyou:
Janet: I will be keeping your DH in my prayers. I hope the next procedure goes well and is problem free. (((HUGS)))
Lanette: I love the dog photo. It seems like a great analogy for your current goals.
Dana: Your daughter is amazing. There has never been a time in my life that I could stand on my hands. Your photos of yourself show great progress. Keep up the good work!
Yoga today for me. DH is going in to get his driver's license renewed and he is handling it on his own. It is so great that he can see and drive again!!! Some miracles of modern medicine can't be over appreciated. Cataract surgery is one of them.

Janet Sending good thoughts for Jack's heart procedure outcome.
Cheri Congrats! You could get craft supplies if there was something you've been wanting. Books are always a wonderful reward. xoxo
Heather Welcome home! Sounds as if you had a good trip. I have forgotten what your difficult friend is difficult about, but zen sounds like a good defense.
There were others I wanted to comment on but I have lost my train of thought...

Good morning ladies
Dana - enjoyed your pictures! You are making great changes. Did you just recently join this group? I have been MIA for a month.
Leigh - Terrific progress! 50 lbs! Has this been your loss just since January?
Peach - Sending hugs to you. Sometimes not gaining is the best we can do for the moment.
Heather - When I'm faced with situations I can't control, I picture putting those thoughts and situations onto and putting a leaf into a mountain stream. Watching it float away gives me a lot of peace. I even picture the stream with the appropriate season surroundings.
Janetr - Prayers for your hubby. My hubby had a heart attack on Valentines Day 2005. His widow maker artery was 99% blocked. His doctor says the two stents in there are still keeping things flowing.
Mary - Enjoy your shopping and the movies. I won't tell the theater manager about your healthy snacks!
Marcelyn - Oh, my, a double whammy! So sorry! When I was a child I would get into chiggers and stinging nettles at my cousins. There hometown was more humid and they lived on a river. We didn't have them at my home on the plains.
Lanette - Love the picture of the dogs jumping the hurdles!
Well, I am channeling my anger and anxiety into productivity. I am working on sorting through closets and boxes, pitching and donating "stuff", and developing a new daily structure for myself. It is helping but I know I need to face all my feelings, too. Hubby and I are going through something major that I don't want to share about yet but it might involve splitting up after 36 years of marriage. Enough said. It is MAJOR s*%&! It will be my decision which in some ways is scarier than being the one who is left behind.
Well - off to fix a bite to eat and then to some training at work.
TNToni in summer-like Tennessee4 -
JanetR, thinking about you and Jack, and hoping for the best.
Toni, thinking of you. I was at 27 years married when I decided. Best thing I ever did. Hard to make, nonetheless.
Allie, thinking of you, too.

Back on my tablet! My dear husband hid it from me last Saturday, so I have had a nice mandatory digital detox. I have no anger in what he did, because I was getting wrapped up in the dang puzzle game, and my eyes were hurting. I am an all or nothing person. Yesterday I read the book The Summerhouse by Jude Deveraux. I read it one day, and my world was this story! A good read!
Have a great Wednesday!

Good morning to all! It has turned quite cool and misty here; it was below freezing last night and will be so again tonight. Maybe it will kill all the baby mosquitos! I have a bit of good news; DH passed the lie-detector test! Our attorney said that only about 20-30% can pass this one. So if we get to the sentencing stage, that will be helpful to have.
DD#2’s car got hit again. That girl seems to just attract chaos! This time it happened in the dorm parking lot, so unfortunately, it will be her insurance that covers it. I hope they don’t raise her rates!
My sanon meeting last night was great. That is so helpful to attend and I would recommend a 12-step group for anyone! It’s a pretty small group, so we are all comfortable with each other. All our stories are so different, but have the same problem at the core, so it’s good to hear how people handle their adversities because it’s easy to apply their knowledge to your own situation. Other that the lie detector test, nothing is new on the legal front.
Sue: what happened that your yard work has to be redone?
Cheri & Ginger: great losses! Congrats to both of you! Cheri, I’d go for a pedicure!
Heather: I so enjoy reading about your travels!
Katla: thanks for the hug! I had to smile when I read about your dog; we always joked that Benny Beagle came back from the groomer a totally different color each time! He didn’t stay outside, but somehow got so dirty that we were always surprised to see how grey he had gotten! He loved the groomer! They would all just fuss and fuss over him. He loved the vet too of all odd things!
Yvonne: I’m so sorry for your troubles. Sending good thoughts your way
Lenora: that is crazy! Why would the staff be so rude? They are your employees for heaven’s sake. I just hate to hear things like that since I teach nursing! That’s awful about the other neurologist not taking this one’s patients! Sounds like there is an issue between them.
Toni: boy do I understand what you are saying! Our kids had to take the same standardized testing required right after they got here and spoke no English at all. Then the school tells us that our kids are affecting their federal aid money, since their composite scores are lower because of them!
Janet: sending good healthy wishes for you and DH!!! My brother just had bypass surgery after 9 stents. Sounds like hubby was lucky this was caught. (((hugs)))
KJLaMore: cute pic!
Sarah: I’m glad you are feeling better now!
Michele: I like to read while I’m on the recumbent bike. I find I get so absorbed, I often go over my goal time! My red eyes are my only allergy symptom.
Marcelyn: sending soothing thoughts your way!
Pitigny: congrats on your loss!
Lanette: gotta love those pooches!
Danareel: yay me indeed! Great loss!
TNT: I am so sorry to hear about your troubles with hubby. I can only offer you my support and friendship. I know many people have asked me why I stay with DH’s troubles and I can only say each person and each situation is so different. Follow your heart. (((hugs)))
Well girls I must get going. In the midst of typing this, a good work friend came in and I told her the story and she was here for about 1 ½ hours. So now I must bust my chops to get stuff accomplished. Take care, Meg from chilly Omaha

Happy Get Organized Day!
Boy, do I ever need that!
Janet - Best wishes for Jack's upcoming surgery. You're right, if there's a problem it's good to deal with it now in a controlled way.
Kelly - I keep thinking that the DIY shows of the future will be full of people insisting on having walls put back up because they don't want the whole house to be a fishbowl. I like the open concept look, but I wouldn't do it myself. If I'm throwing a big dinner or party, the last thing I want is people to see the wreckage in my kitchen!
Marcelyn - Oh, you poor thing! There is nothing I know of that itches as much as a chigger bite. And poison sumac is bad news since it spreads from one spot to another so easily. I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable.
Lanette - Hope you have fun at the Lularoe party! I've been avoiding my consultant's Facebook page because I don't need any more clothes right now and they are SO comfortable and tempting.
Becca - It's nice to have you back, but isn't a good digital detox refreshing? Once we get over the stress of not having access, that is!
Many thanks to those who sent words of encouragement. They are much appreciated. I guess I never expected to be struggling so hard at this age. Philip and I will celebrate our 26th anniversary tomorrow. I'd do it all again, but it's a good thing I married for love and not money... his career derailment in 2014 kind of changed everything.
We have a dear friend who is getting preparing to have electrodes implanted for his Parkinson's disease. They're going to be back and forth between home and the hospital for most of May, so I'm working on getting them fed so they can focus on other things. The up side of that, in addition to helping our friends, is that I'll be doing a lot of cooking. Whenever I make something for them, I'll just do a double batch and put one in our freezer. Should make it easier to keep up with meals, which is good because I'll be treading water to stay on top of work for the next month or two.
Have a good day, and get organized!

Wow. Just Wow. I feel like a first grader. Don't have time to read it all so I look for the pictures. Thanks everyone for the design suggestions. Lenora went above and beyond. To the person who asked, my little mare is a registered paint although the only color she has is a lot of chrome.

Dana? Is that who posted pictrues of herself? I read you were posting pictures of a before and after and as I was reading and scrolling I saw pictures of womans feet and figured she was upside down in some way. So I thought that was you. You daughter is lovely and very talented. She takes it from you.
Kelly, loved your walkers whether they are happy or not. They are lucky kids. Recently we had a large daycare announce it's closing as of August. We have a private school building a new school which willl allow more kids and they can take the pre-K but that leaves the families of the babies and toddlers out. I personally prefer small day cares. My Mom was a director of ehr own preschool and just being around the school and hearing her talk about it, I got to know some of the health inspection rules. One time one of the ladies in a church wanted to have our church open up a day care so she would have a place for her child. Preacher went all gung ho in researching, getting curriculum and even interviewing teachers. This was before the church agreed to do it. This was in the spring and they wanted to open first day of school. 3 or 4 months does not leave enough time to do everything that is required to change church Sunday School rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc into a day care. So that business meeting was pretty hot and the idea was canned. It wasn't that we didn't like the idea of a day care. But it was the timing. They just weren't allowing enough time. So we prepared for it the right way and it took almost a year to make sure our building was done the right way. That was about 20 years ago and it still remains one of the largest and most sought after day cares.
Our house will be done today. Not the windows since it is different company but the painting will be. Charlie still isn't satisfied with the shade of red but we both Ok'd it and it looks nice, just not what we had before.
Janetr, why are they waiting 3 weeks to do an angiogram on your husband if this blockage is that severe?
Joyce, Indiana3 -
Gotta focus!3 -
Joyce, they are not sure how severe the blockage is until they do the angiogram. The pictures they take pre and post dye during stress test aren't capable of showing severity of blockage. They will set it up as soon as they can but have to coordinate Cath lab, cardiologist and surgeon so he said it could be 2-3 weeks. Sorry if I've made it sound worse than it is, it scared me when he said he wanted the surgeon on standby. Jack has had three previous angiograms and not had a surgeon on standby. So just me being overly anxious I'm sure. Guess I need to quit sharing information when I'm anxious over it. Sorry.
Janetr okc0 -
janet no apology necessary this is hard. My husband has a "thicker heart muscle" called the widow maker. We take every cardio visit seriously and I worry more than my DH!!
Observed another wonderful young orchestra teacher candidate, our choice was clear and we all agreed who was #1 but it's hard to say no to the other 2, such potential is inspiring and I'm glad I was a part of the search even though I am falling behind with my school work!!
Making a yellow curry with jasmine rice-will try to limit my rice but this is one of my favorite dinners-looking forward to it.

TNToni: Best luck for your situation with DH. (((HUGS)))
Becca: I'm happy that you have your tablet back. :flowerforyou:
Meg: I'm glad to hear that the sanon group is positive and helpful for you.
Joyce: Congratulations on completion of your house painting!
Janetr: We listen to one another's worries regularly. I hope you'll continue to share things that bother you any time it will lighten your load. I feel good knowing we can all share our worries now and again. :flowerforyou:
DH renewed his driver's license today and it all went easily enough. The wait was long, though. The DMV is a busy place. I drove by there after yoga and sat with him for the last 25 minutes or so.
Last evening we got a call from a friend who lives just down stream from us. He has a view of our marina and was concerned because he could see a dog waiting beside its family boat, but couldn't see any signs of the man who owns the boat. I walked down and things were just fine. I waved to the friend who was worried and chatted with our neighbor until he'd finished on his boat and we walked up the dock together, two people and a nice big dog.
I love this community.
