it's show a lack of creativity. I can hear what you're saying, that people with real pics aren't as smart.2 -

sometimes i use a goofy pic of some kind on here when i'm feeling depressed and need a laugh, but that's me.
sometimes people only go halfway when they sign up and just keep telling themselves, oh i'll add a picture later, but maybe they're overweight and embarrassed still. i know i was a few years ago.
sometimes people use fake photos just to circumvent a forum ban. like they can't use their real photo because someone will recognize them from before and report them.
and sometimes they're just stalkers and you're totally justified in deleting/ignoring them. you just have to trust your gut.
We said we werent gonna mention that again.....
I disagree. A person can use any picture of any person found on the internet for a profile pic if they really wanted to. Perhaps the people who use sayings and cartoon characters and funny pics are actually more dependable. Plus, whichever pic they use can give a little insight as to their personality.
def true, and i agree with the rest to an extent- personally, i think the best route to go is, sure, use a fake/goofy pic for your pp, keep your profile locked, but also, if you're real, keep an actual pic or two in your photos section so your friends know who they're really dealing with.
Note to self...delete all pics of extremely large breasted, big assed tiny waist bikini blondes in photos section before accepting any friends requests.
FR SENT
Note to self...replace all pics of extremely large breasted, big assed tiny waist bikini blondes in photos section with balding large bellied large breasted men with unibrows and mustaches.
fr sent. wait, i'm doing this wrong.0 -

Are you looking for a date?
I'm just here to lose 10 pounds and tone up a bit. I don't need to see a photo of your chest to talk to you.
Preach!! It's the guys with profile pictures like that that make me wonder their true intentions on this site.
I don't trust anyone until I see some D pics
Start chatting to one of the guys that has a chest pic... give it a day, I'm sure you'll get one
A day???? hahahahahahaha
I was trying to give them a little credit lol1 -
Who cares? If it bothers you that much then just don't accept the friend request. I don't care if someone uses their real picture or not, as long as they are nice, and here to support one another on our fitness journey's that's all I care about. I have met some really cool people on here who are very motivational and AWESOME!!! Now I sort of want to change my pic to something that isn't me.
@TavistockToad I like your photo as well.
@scottyp65 your profile pic is also really cool. I like it a lot!

I don't care if a FR has a profile pic, a real person, a cartoon or the default.
I ignore all of them 100%.6 -
_har_T_Swallow wrote: »To be honest I couldn't care less if the person who's sent a friend request to me has a photo of them as their profile pic or not.
Realistically, I have zero way of knowing if the photo a person is using as their profile pic is actually of them. This is the internet. Literally all of us in this thread who have a photo of themselves could be lying. We'd never know.
And anyways, even if it is real, again, it's the internet. That doesn't mean that I automatically know who you are. Some of the people that I've become closest to on here don't have their photo up.
tbf i consider most of the folks who regularly post selfies or update their PP, and like also participated in the voice thread to be real, actual people who are fairly representative of who they say. that includes some people who i thought were just trolls or catfish. so a little bit of reality from time to time can definitely help a person's cause, imo.
but in the end I think a real person can do whatever they want with their own profile. if they're real it'll shine through regardless. if they're a phony it won't.

Still ignore it. I've stopped deleting them though. Got 20 or so I'm ignoring now.0 -

And even if the pic is real and it looks great and you want to eff their brains out, it's the internet, and they probably live 5,000 miles away.
Meanwhile, if you're horny and single, there are probably real people wherever you live.
Not you specifically, well, maybe, I don't know, I'm just agreeing with your point.4 -

I do think the profile pic should give an indication of your sex.
Like @abitoftrouble would have a big ZERO.0 -

Doesn't this post belong in the rate a person thread?
No, I still like @abitoftrouble so that doesn't effect their overall rating.0 -
I accept all friend requests. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I have met some really interesting and helpful people and I have no idea why or where some of them noticed me, but if I didn't give them a chance, I would have missed out.
If people send me a blank request, I message them, they all have replied.
People all have different needs, some like to be social, others not so much. That is fine by me. I am in the community to support everyone.
The only creepy people I have talked to did not send me a friend request, just messages.
I chose to use a real picture of myself to try to add something personal because I am a guarded person and have a closed profile. I message people who I have something I want to say something to, I like one on one conversation.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm going to go cry in the corner and lament my current lack of FRs.1 -
