Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .
Good Evening my dear Friends,
I’m so sorry for those of you suffering excessive heat. Please stay safe and cool the best way you can. It has actually been in the low to mid 80’s here the past week but very, very humid.
Dana, I had spinal fusion of the bottom 3 vertebrae in 2004. It definitely took a while to totally heal from it but has always been better than before the surgery. Losing weight definitely helped. Sending you healing thoughts!! A huge congrats on the loss. You are doing a wonderful job. Keep it up.
Katla, I think many of us don’t feel our age but occasionally our bodies will remind us. I feel like as long as I do what I can things will work out just fine.
Paula, beautiful flowers! Glad your DH is getting over the initial shock of his friend’s death.
Becca, I love your sign: “Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful”. Thanks.
Barbie, I know Jake was happy to have you go to the game with him.
Allie, wishing you a speedy resolution to your marriage. (((((((Hugs)))))))
Chris, wonderful results from a job well done. Congrats!!!!!!
CarolGA, that is so sad about your Aunt. Yes, many family members turn into someone else at the death of a loved one. (or what should be)
Katla, I am still trying to contact Microsoft about my problem but it’s not easy. Lol
Earnie, welcome. This is a great place for support and information so come often and join right in. Please tell us a little about yourself to help us get to know you. We also ask that you sign each post with your name and location, just like you did. Thanks.
Heather, that is funny that you think DH is competing with the young hunks. Whatever works for him.
Joyce, wouldn’t it be ashamed if you “accidentally” got paint on the carpet in Charlie’s room and “had” to get new.
NYKaren, you are so right about this forum being a great place to vent. Isn’t it wonderful? Sorry you had to hear everyone cry on your shoulders but hopefully your year-end wasn’t as stressful. ((Hugs))
MicheleNC, FYI I log breakfast and snacks ahead each day and when I go on my cruises I lose my continuous days of logging. Maybe it works for a day or two but not for 5 or 7. (Later) Such a cute ant.
Allie, sometimes there is just TMI for your own good. Ewwww on those texts. You take care, my friend. ((((Hugs))))
Chris, you did hit the mother load on all that candy.
to all the Newbies. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.
I never heard from the chiropractor’s office yesterday so called them today. I have an appointment for tomorrow morning at 10:30. Today we took my friend’s car to the shop to have a tire repaired. It kept losing air. Also got new windshield wipers for my car. I wanted them before my trip to Florida next week. It’s been raining so much lately that I’m sure we will have some on the trip. My DD has been working 10 hour days all week but tomorrow doesn’t go in until 2:00 so we are going to Hamricks in the morning before my appointment. I got her some tops and we will return one of them. Now I’m off to bed.
Sending love, good thoughts and cool sunshine to all of you.
I Love you

Earnie from Central TN: Welcome to a great group of supportive women.
Chris in MA: Congratulations on 139.8! WTG!!!
Sue: We have deer visiting our gated townhouse community right in the middle of town. We've taken over their territory with our towns and cities and they're staying here with us. I don't know how they're getting inside the fence. I haven't actually seen them this year. Neighbors have, however.
DJ: Good luck with Microsoft. I use Microsoft Word on my apple, but it is a very old version of Word. It rarely causes trouble. Then again, I don't do much that I would call fancy or elaborate.
There is a concert in the park this evening and it is only a few blocks away, but DH is napping in his chair, and my motivation is pretty low. I may take the dog and walk over there for a little while. DH & I have both enjoyed the concert series for the last several years.

Jake is at the baseball game tonight and our team is winning. I thought I'd get a lot done while he was gone, but after a long walk with a friend, I was more tired than I expected and when I started spreading mulch in the front yard, I had a giant sinking spell and came in and got in bed with the dogs and slept for an hour. Now I'm up again with more energy. Took the dogs for another walk and will probably still be awake when Jake gets home from the game.
The warm weather is finally finding us---65 today and into the 70's for the next few days.
Stats for today:
*22,000 steps
*180 minutes walking Sasha and Bessie
*60 minutes riding the exercise bike
*45 minutes walking with a friend
*30 minutes spreading mulch in the front yard
*two hour line dance class

Lenora~ neither are on Facebook, and somehow I got the pictures into cloud on my phone.. will have to figure out how to print out..
Tom's aunt (DFIL) sister is in hospice not expected to make it through sunday.. you might remember she is one of the sisters that I brought up to visit, she has COPD and just wants to go.. I have been up since 11:pm, and will get dressed and go down in a couple of hours to say goodbye. Told Tom that it might be a good idea to see her after he gets out of work today..he is only about 15 min away from there..I am hoping to get some sleep after I get out of work today..0 -
Day is winding down...thank goodness! I had to see my eye doctor today about my macular degeneration. I have great news. The new injections are working like a charm. I don't have to go again for 6 months. I have been getting injections in the eye. As scary as that sounds, there was no pain and it helped me get this awful problem under control! Modern medical advances are wonderful. $$$$ however!
We are experiencing real summer-like weather now. No one has air conditioners around here so we hide in the basement or some other cool place and sit in front of a fan. It works but it is difficult to get anything accomplished.
I watched an amazing pbs program on large earth sculptures. They were absolutely wonderful. They looked natural yet the form was a man-made image. Difficult to explain. See the program if you ever get the chance.
Our labradoodle pup (Katie) is 15 months old. She is crazy about playing ball. Our new interesting task would be to teach her to catch a frisbee. So far she only looks at us like we have taken leave of our senses. WHAT?
It is lovely getting to know everyone. I remain inspired by Barbiecat's perpetual motion. Happy to know there are several other Oregonians amoung us.
Try to stay cool,

Quick check in before I head to work and I just am bursting to share my latest accomplishment... I have managed to reach the 130's! 139.8 to be exact. I have not been at this weight since I was in my 30's, and sadly I was lead to believe that I was overweight which began my battle of yo-yo dieting and the gain of almost 60 lbs. and years of unhappiness. That is all behind me now and I'm looking ahead.
I achieved my original goal of 150 December 2015, gained about 9 lbs. in 2016 and recommitted in January 2017 with a new goal of 145. When I hit that I set a new goal of below 140 by the summer and by golly I actually achieved it! I lost 19 lbs. since the beginning of this year. My current goal is to maintain for the summer and then we'll see how I feel in the fall.
Thank you everyone for all the love and support you have given me!
Love and hugs to everyone!
Chris in MA
Congratulations!
I'm right there with you in the weight. I vary a bit but try to keep it under 140.2 -
Allie, you don't need to figure out how to print them out. Give them to your lawyer and let the office do it. That way you don't have to touch that ugly picture. I am so sorry you are having to go through this,
Cher, you have more courage than I do to have Nestle crunch bars in the house. Now the Butterfingers wouldn't bother me.
Melody is using Charlies bedroom more for solace. As long as she doesn't get on his bed I can see her sleeping in there. I can use the afghan on a soft pillow on the floor where she likes to sleep a lot. I think if I asked Charlie, he would say to take Mr Mozart back. He gets perturbed over the kitten antics and what he does to Melody. But yet tonight he missed how I had Mr Mozart up on my chest and Melody jumped up and took the exact position on the other side. He doesn't see those times when they want to be together.

After DH 's testosterone filled activities yesterday he has ended up with huge horsefly bites on his arm from pruning trees next to the horses' field!!! Mind you, he demonstrated his testosterone this morning in a different way. Have to love 'em.
Glad the old boy is still firing on ALL cylinders.

Anyone remember that one? And we are jolly good company. (((HUGS))) for all going through stuff. We have your back.
Nice list I found on my Facebook this morning.
I'm working on it!

DH and I are up looking out at the rain. I suppose we will get ready to get out of here and on the way to Norfolk VA for the Cajun Boogaloo Festival. We love festivals because of the music and variety of food. This one typically features great seafood, crawfish, alligator, and other Louisiana dishes. The music is fantastic. DH was a little down because it’s raining but I was able to find the weather in Norfolk. It is cloudy there today with temperatures expected to reach 93! Whew! Our hotel is on the waterfront with a balcony. I expect we will be able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the music from the festival if the heat gets to be too much for us.
Our first anniversary is Monday. Hard to believe it’s been a whole year.
KJ: I laughed at your remark about complimenting your husband whenever he got near the grill or stove. My DH’s family believed that men do not belong in the kitchen so he ever learned how to cook. He knew how to put together a couple of things to eat if he was on his own but that was it. One day he decided that he was going to fry some chicken wings. I told him they were the best fried chicken wings I ever had, much better than when I fried them. So once every 2 weeks I would tell him that I had a taste for some of his chicken wings and he would have them ready when I got home for work. After a while he decided that if he could fry chicken wings he could fry fish. Today he would happily tell you that I said he is the best fish fryer in the world. I can honestly say I can’t remember the last time I fried either. I intend to keep telling him that nobody can fry either better than he can.
Pip: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! You and Kirby are so wonderful.
Allie: Sending comforting hugs! Glad you had a good time at the aquarium. Remember that you can’t move forward if you keep looking back. Feel bad for the girlfriend you know, by experience, what the end result will be. I am thinking about the wonderful times you have ahead of you to do whatever you desire.

Good morning! Happy Friday!
Allie- Sending hugs to you! Take deep breaths, stand tall and stay the course! Seeing his texts on his phone; you now know exactly where his mind/heart are and you have things in motion to take care of you. Stay strong and know that we are all with you!
Heather- I love your Symptoms list! I think most days I find inner peace. I would love to have this all day, every day. I tend to feel most at peace in the early morning.
Pip- Happy belated anniversary to you and Kirby! You are both just as beautiful now as you were then! Wonderful pic!
This is my last weekend before my DD and baby Joaquin arrive! I have a bit more outside house work to do. Screens and windows need to be done, powerwash the exterior of the house and powerwash and stain the back stairwell and swing.
If I can get the powerwashing done on Saturday, that will allow me to stain on Sunday. I also have to mow the lawn. DH and DYS will be cutting down the dead tree in the back yard. Oooo...I have to buy my flowers, too. Fuschia hanging pots and some Sunpatiens for the planter.
Sending good energy, prayers, and love to you all! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)2 -

Good morning
Managed to get a few minutes on the computer this morning -
Heather I had to let you know that they have a new model of the instant pot out that now does everything but sing to you. 9 functions instead of 7 so you might find that the 7 will shortly go down in price. Here's a link to the new list of features. instantpot.com/benefits/specifications-and-manuals/instant-pot-ip-duo-series-specifications
Whoever has their instant pot in the box (sorry I was reading quickly) - I did the same thing because I was scared of the high pressure. Mine stayed in the box for almost a year and I decided this was silly so I watched a couple of youtube videos on how to use it and got over the fear. My first attempt was a beef roast and I was hooked! Frozen roast in 50 minutes it was delicious and my pork ribs are awesome! I especially appreciate being able to brown/saute prior to pressure cooking or slow cooking in the same pot - fewer dishes. What a plus!

Barbie: I'm glad to hear that you went inside to rest when you had the sinking spell. I'm curious about how it felt and am glad the rest helped. :flowerforyou:
Heather: I love the symptoms of inner peace. I need to work on one or two items.
I am currently trying to figure out how to protect my blueberries from deer. They've been visiting our yards this year & are known to love blueberries. I have an idea or two. Evidently I also have a bit of time. I'm looking at the idea of netting and trying to figure out how to use it effectively. The information on the internet says they'll wait for the berries to ripen so I have a little time. I'd love to hear about effective solutions.

Well Little Annabelle and I got quite a scare with a over zealous black lab galloping towards us this morning! I didn't realize how fast I could scoop up a little dog!!! And I did it on the return trip too, as we had to pass by the place again! I did pet the black lab, and the sniff fest was intense! Annabelle tolerated the excited dog, but dang! After that, Annabelle seemed to listen better. Was it because she knoiws I have her back? Prudence confessed that she hasn't been trained. I know! Lol! She is on a leach, but she wants one side of the street then the other! Nope we stay on the same side. Nope you aren't going to poop on the lawn, when you pass up a perfectly good field!! Sheesh!
Dog walking is not as easy as it looks!
Have a great day alls! Tight heartfelt hugs to those that need it!

Good morning!
Katla I picked about 5 cups of blueberries yesterday. Deer haven't bothered them yet but they may find them. The dogs around here may scare them off. I see deer more during hunting season when they go to our creek area to hide out.
I'm going to make DH Bob a blueberry pie and some muffins for the mornings and the freezer. I'm busy doing laundry and house cleaning today too, so I should get in a big credit against my calories.
I got ate up by mosquitoes all over my ankles. I even had jeans, socks and tennies on. Now I have chigger bites and mosquito bites!! Darn insects!!
I'm waiting for a return call from the neurologist's office for an appointment.
My back has been acting up. Not so much in my back but down my legs and I can't lay on my sides more than 5 minutes. Then I have to move back on my back! Frustrating not to sleep! Ugh! Besides the burning bites on me!
Strange story in the news: (we get the Little Rock news)
A woman was caught stealing a "stripper pole" from a store. When confronted by the store manager, the woman bit her! Why would you need a stripper pole? I guess she was a broke stripper and needed practice? Or maybe to put on a show for her boyfriend? A bachelorette party? Who knows but that was just weird!!
Allie Well now you know what Tom-boy has been up to! Maybe he left his phone unattended on purpose just to get a rise out of you! No one leaves their phone laying around and certainly without a passcode on it.
That reminds me of another story. When I was married to Dave DH#3, I met his girlfriend in the waiting room of the county jail. He was a alcoholic and had many many DUIs. He was arrested for the fifth time. He was messing around and I was about the end of my rope but I want to go down there and talk to him. So, I went down there and I was waiting and I ask the sheriff what was taking so long. The sheriff replied "Well there's another person in there talking to him." And I thought who in the hell is talking to him at midnight? So I waited about 10 more minutes and all of a sudden here comes this woman walking out of the visiting area and she just gives me the dirtiest stare ever! That's how I saw DH#3's girlfriend!!
Tere Congratulations on your first anniversary! Our 13th is next month. It took me 5 tries to get it right! But DH Bob is a keeper!
Have a great day!

Wow Dana, I have never seen a blueberry bush like that! I always thought they were close to the ground.
The half naked hunks have been back and raked the bare patches and seeded them. Then they watered them! Bless! The company I used is on Checkatrade and is obviously looking for a good review. Happy to do that. Don't think I'll mention the view!
Delicious squid stew tonight. I had 2 units of white wine with it and feel rather woozy. Now that I don't drink regularly I'm a real lightweight! Last of the gooseberries for tonight. We have a freezer full of fruit and more blackcurrants to come.
On Sunday we are off to DH's sister 64 for her birthday party. She always has it in her garden. The 91 year old aunt will be there. Today his sister has taken that aunt (maternal) right across the whole country to see the other aunt (paternal) 86. Amazing energy! I could not do that a couple of days before a big garden party. :noway: I am very fond of DSIL. We will be staying in her new spare room in her new extension. My intention is not to drink too much. I am taking some low alcohol cider with me.

DJ – Do you use Outlook on your computer? Have you checked for updates (not upgrades, that cost $$$); if it is giving you problems, maybe it is because an update did not update. You can put it on ‘auto update’. Also do you clear you cookies, history, and that on your Internet, such as Google or IE? I can’t remember where it is; upper right-hand corner and on a drop down screen?
I’m had a mild headache every evening for at least a week to 10 days. This morning, about an hour ago, I got nauseous and now my headache is back. I thought I could take my wrought iron chair to have the ‘curly que’ on the arm to the muffler place and have it welded again; but, Louis tells me ‘it isn’t road worthy’. He tells me he’ll get it fixed – like the porch; I will believe it when I see it. It’s not like it is going to break the bank. Six hundred dollars including materials. I just had one of my protein bars. I can’t even remember if I have eaten much else today.
Barbie – I know what you feel like with the ‘sinking spells’. If I get up or down or move my head quickly or get too hot, I’m going to have one. Been sitting on my porch and enjoying everything. What a refuse.
Gee, I am not sure how you get them out of the cloud; but, I know it can be done. I get my Tech to Us technicians help me with stuff like that.
Allie – It sounds like you have stayed close to some of Tom’s family. FnL and now SnL.
Chris and Mahka – I’ll be thrilled and at my goal when I hit 145lbs. I’ve really watched what I have eat; except for Friday when we had ‘date night’ and Father’s Day. Both, I went way over, and only exercised on Friday. I take Sundays off an don’t do anything.
Heather – That reminds me of the cartouche that a friend brought home for Egypt when she was there. Mine is silver and hers is gold. The only symbol I recognize is the ‘bird’ which is an ‘O’ according to the hieroglyphic I have found; and, it does spell out my name. But, it may mean something totally different when added to the 2 feathers.
Tere – Happy 1st anniversary on Monday. That first year and a good bit of the 2nd are learning how each does things, what they expect, etc. One of the first things that Will did at Tami’s was redo her kitchen throwing out about 50 plastic butter dishes she saved to send with Mallory to school for her lunch. Will told her they had plenty enough ‘gift cards’ to buy Tupperware and that was what they’d be doing later that day. Will is a ‘strange’ young man insofar as what he does and expects. It is “Will’s way or the highway!” in a lot of what he does. She is a good cook but he did not like her chicken and dumplings at all and talked about it all during the meal, it upset her so that she went into the bedroom and cried, then she did not cook anything for 2 days.

Well I am definitely getting my walking in! One hours worth of walking Annabelle, then son, husband and I are walking the river path for 30 minutes. I have been jogging off and on with son on that. Yeah me!
