Stayed at Girl Scout Camp Mitre Peak during the conference this week. This was the incredible view out the kitchen door of the cabin where I stayed... The conference went very well, all things considered--I'm back home and it's naptime.
Missed y'all. Lisa in West Texas

Allie - What does your lawyer say about getting picture of Tom with his lady friend? MI is a no fault state and having proof of an affair does not radically change what a judge awards. Interestingly enough, one spouse or the other being extremely obnoxious will sway the judge to lean as much in favor of the other spouse as they are allowed by law.
Any way, just suggesting you do what you need for closure and whatever your lawyer tells you so you have the strongest case for your state's laws.
Please don't do anything that could anger Tom so much that it puts you in danger.
Hugs,

High humidity here, spent the afternoon on a spur of the moment lunch/shopping trip with DD while car was at the shop. We Walked our feet off. DD's good company, I had a taste of her gelato but stuck to my single cup of espresso, now my head is swimming!! I guess I'm a lightweight too!
Had lots of hugs and high fives as well as lovely thank you notes from students today, the last day of school. Felt appreciated and valued, never underestimate the power of a thank you note

Ka5, My sinking spell was just a case of being tired and not wanting to work any more so I took a nap like I often do in the afternoon after lunch
Becca, yes, walking a dog is challenging. Walking two dogs is really an adventure especially when they have widely divergent ideas of what route to take. When my neighbors ask me how I can do it. I tell them, "years of practice ".
Jake is with a friend for a few hours so I have the house to myself. It's too hot to work outside but I have things I want to do in the house

Mia- I am just trying to get enough proof that it might make some difference ,in the way the outcome goes...I have spent 20 yrs catering to him.1

Dana Yum!
I went to the Nature Center to see the white water lilies. It was a treat.

I'm back from the gym! Feeling proud of myself as I hoped to go M, W & F and I did! Have lost 3 pounds since I started back last Wednesday!
It's rainy and humid here today and will probably be that way all weekend. Still, I'm hoping to get some plants potted and whatever yard work I can get done. Otherwise I'll have to declutter inside ... blech!
NYKaren ...I agree that thank you notes are powerful!

Yay, Beth! Congrats on the gym and the 3 lbs gone.
I've been upping the weights at the gym and am pleasantly sore. Then like an idiot I walked in the heat of the day with shorts and a tank top and have a slight sunburn on my shoulders. But that's okay. I've gotten my 10,000 steps plus for 8 days straight. No weight loss, though. I'm apparently practicing premature maintenance once again.5 -
beth your gym habit is paying off! 3 lbs lost is really motivating.
For the summer I am setting out to work on my upper body (bingo wings ) and saying it here means you all will hold me accountable!! Right ladies?!

Decided to post even tho I haven't caught up reading. I played golf Tuesday and got really hot. Wednesday had appointment with retina specialist. Had to get injection in left eye due to hemorrhage. This time I had a big black spot in my eye which was very irritating. Thursday and today I taught the water aerobics class for my friend who is out of town.
Temp is 101 today so I am grateful to be inside in the AC. My friend whose DH is in nursing home is preparing to move and I went over to help her a little this morning.
Can't comment but will continue to read.

Dana: Your blueberries make my mouth water. Yum! My bushes are loaded with berries, but it will be some time before any ripen. I didn't have deer problems last year but that was then. I plan to see if I can find some netting to put over the plants. All are still fairly small plants and the variety never gets as large as yours.
Becca: Great job of moving more. WTG!!!
While I was in yoga today I was summoned out of class because somebody hit my car in the parking lot. The driver was a 16 year old kid with a learner's permit. His mom was teaching him to tow a horse trailer through the parking lot of the athletic center, and he did not make his turn wide enough. He did a lot of damage to the front bumper of my car. My car is still drivable & we both have the same insurance agent. Their policy will pay for everything, including a rental car for me while mine is getting worked on. If I was teaching my kid to tow a trailer, I'd practice in an empty parking lot with cones set out, not a full parking lot with lots of cars. :grumble: At least no person was hurt AND we don't have to pay for their mistake. I hope the car's value isn't compromised. The frame was not damaged.

Beth, congrats on your success at going to the gym. I know it was hard for you to get started. Continuing with your plan to go M,W,F will bring you not only weight loss success but also health and fitness as well as the good feeling that comes from sticking to a plan.
Katla, sorry to hear about your car. Glad you can summon a positive attitude about it.
Allie, sorry for your loss
Barbie2 -
Allie ... hugs ... praying you have a restful night.
Barbie ... the hardest part is always starting. It was a real push to go to the gym today. I think I've shared before that it takes me 20 minutes to get there and then the return trip home. But it's also true that I never regret going once I get there.
NYKaren ... I'll hold you accountable!! I have pterodactyl arms ... and my family affectionately (I think it's with affection) tell me that if a flap my arms, I can get several inches of loft!
Beth

Lisa wow what a view.
Allie prayers take care. Here is a Heron from my garden:5 -
Katla, I am so sorry to hear about your car! Even when they pay for everything, you still have the hassle of rearranging YOUR schedule for the repair, the time involved, etc. They are lucky the hit YOUR car - sounds like your reaction was calmer than many people's would have been.
Dana - your blueberries look great! Enjoy! We don't raise any here, I normally buy a lot from a blueberry farm down the road. I'm still finding bags of them in the freezer so will hold back this year. I might buy a flat of red raspberries for the freezer. Yes they are seedy but I love them.
Starting tomorrow is 2 days of HOT for us...but luckily, only 2 days. Cool off by around 15 degrees on Monday. We've got around 85f here right now, DH spent most of the day working on the landscaping around the house - tearing out sod, dirt, etc. I think he's finally going to get a propane burner to take care of the weeds in the driveway - he sprayed the yukky Roundup out there this morning, the sun should do them in shortly.
I keep hoping he'll give the OK for me to hire some of those nice college boys who like to work with their shirts off = sweaty. But I don't think he'd like the competition - tho for an old feller he's in pretty good shape.
Keep cool ladies!

I thought I posted my water lily pictures. I used to be able just to share them as larger pictures. I am sorry you have to click on them individually if you care to see them.
Cool here the next few days. A nice break.5 -
Did a Real Fitness DVD. This wasn't very intense, but that's one of the things that you should change up -- frequency, intensity, time and type. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Classic Firm DVD
Alison - what a lovely person you are. Beyond all this, you're still caring for Tom's aunt. And suggesting that he be there. A lot of women wouldn't even be bothered mentioning it to him. I'm so sorry for your loss
Patsy - so happy the injections are working!
Tere - happy anniversary
Made a lasagna for us to have tomorrow and another one for Jess to take back with her.
Becca - when I was helping Jess train the service dog, we couldn't let the dog walk in front of us. What we would do is have treats in our hand (on the side that you want the dog to be). If the dog walked in front of us or to the side, we had to stop. when the dog walked nicely by our side, he was rewarded with a treat
Yea Beth!
katla - I'm so sorry that happened to you. Why in the world would she be teaching her son to tow a trailer in a parking lot of cars? I remember when Vince was teaching the kids to drive (not tow a trailer) he took them to an EMPTY parking lot. At least you won't have to pay for a rental car.
Today was so nice and warm I would have loved to go in the pool. But Vince takes so long to do things, he doesn't plan. Lately, it seems I need to help him so that things get done. So I need to plan (make sure I have the meat marinated, the house clean, etc, etc) That is, unless it's something that HE wants done. You won't believe how long it took to get my ant done. I'm proud of him. I think the "antenna" give him character.

I am so honored to know that I have a friend like Alie that can be gong through all she is with a dead beat husband right now, cheating on her and bare.y a.lowin there enough to live on. Yet when his aunt is dyin, she makes sure she is able to spend some time with her before she dies. Allie, you are a treasure, a fighter and am pleased to know you. You are a pure example of what a woman should be. You care for people, it doesn't matter whose side they are on. They are humans and deserve caring about.
I am looking at the most wonderful sunset right now. Well it's kind of the end. We have had a lot of rain and I don't know what it did to the atmosphere, but I love this sunset.
Pip, your dog looks unhappy today.

Lisa – I read your post twice and both times I was wondering … what was she doing on the floor to have that view? LOL!!!!!
Mia – No fault divorces in many states is to really give women (especially abused women) a way to get ‘out of a marriage’ without having to put anything other than the ‘marriage is irretrievable broke’. I would not want Allie to do anything that might anger TomCat; because you never know what someone will do in a ‘fit of rage’. She just needs to protect her interest and get as much as possible out of him, what is fair and just. The fact that he is seeing another woman will help when the 2 attorneys are trying to come to a ‘settlement’ that both of them can walk away feeling like they got a ‘good deal’ and ‘not like they were dubbed or forced into a settlement agreement’. Quite often one or the other of the parties do NOT want their ‘dirty linens’ out there in public (although everything in a divorce action is public record, unless for some reason the Judge decides to ‘seal it’. As for me, I hope she gets ‘what she wants’ and even that ‘she forces him’ to ‘liquidate all property’ and split the proceeds. Then Allie would have money that she could find a place to live that might not be such a drain on her money. I agree that she needs to listen to her attorney’s advice and stay strong and make sure she has a strong evidence that might mean that TomCat gets more reasonable to settle, so that both of them can move on. Allie, you do what you have to in order to get the best settlement and it isn’t necessary to be all B****** about it.
Allie – Sorry for your loss, you seem to have had a good relationship with TomCat’s family.
Dana – Out of 4 little blueberry bushes we had, 3 of them are coming back (after a ‘controlled fire got out of control) when they were over on the other side setting the back burn. I haven’t gone out to check them yet. Might get my sorry butt out there tomorrow AM.
One of Jenn’s relatives have blueberry bushes that are ‘trees’. I’m surprised we have not been invited to come up and pick as many as we want. Got Strawberries and blueberries at the grocery store the other day 2 for 1. I always go for the BOGO things, if we use them.
Katla – Surprisingly, my frame to my Honda has not been bent even though my first wreck when I turned left in front of someone and besides being hit, I also hit a utility pole. I got a check from my insurance company that was for ‘value lost’ in car.
Joyce – Allie has a ‘big heart’ and she hasn’t deserved to have it ‘tromped’ on like TomCat has. She will come out of this ‘on top’ and with ‘pride to carry her into a new beginning’.
