Becca: I suspect your DH is enjoying the empty nest. Having teenagers in the home is not very conducive to feelings of lust, IMHO.2

lenora watch out, those Jamaican Patties can be very spicy!!
Had a great mexican lunch with a colleague and a little too much sangria, happily reading and posting on the train heading home--love the train

Heather, well I guess they are moored in Stokes Bay. Yep its pretty much a floating city, with 5,000+ crew members!
Joyce. I have had the blue protective covering on that dishwasher since 2013! If we move I will remove it and the dishwasher will look amazing!

Katla. Haha! My son used to be lying in bed, and my husband would yell, " oooh not there, THERE"! Then I would yell to son, "don't mind your father, he is just being crazy". My son would be laughing and yelling lalalala, I'm sleeping here!

Hi all. Kids got in last night around 9 or so. I slept faily well. Ellie always gets up around 6 AM. Her and Trinity sleep in the family room so that means that the typical teen also is awakened at 6. Charlie is a sucker when it come to his grand kids and he and Ellie will meet in the kitchen and he makes scrambled eggs for the two of them. Then they watch tv that Ellie normally wouldn't be allowed towards at home. But Mom and Dad know about it and it's all OK but Charlie thinks he is doing something special with Ellie. Ellie is his special one. Michelle had to g to work today so wasn't able to spend much time with her sister and family. Usually they all go out to a movie and we take care of the kids. I guess they could do that after Michellle gets off at midnight but they have to get up and drive to Lousiville in the morning. My SIL's sister has two boys and the oldest one turns 4 tomorrow. So two birthday parties in 2 days. But mAry is very private and protective of her famil and doesn't want company long so they won't stay long. Trinity made a wish list on Amazon and Michelle and I got our presents from that. My sister loves jewelry and she knows what kind Trinity likes and always gets her some nice stuff from a consignment, ent store. We had sloppy joes which the family always love. It's easy for me to make, easy to have made up ahead of time, I don't have a lot of clean up after and then cake and I scream. My sister only has one grand child and that is all she will ever has and my kids are still young so she takes out her need to be a grand ma with my girls. So she stays here as much as she can. Plus her husband doesn't like some of the stuff I cook for my family and she does. So it's a win win. But we are all so different. We sat here and talked about frogs and spiders, crickets and the likes. Ellie found two frogs and she has get them alive for 3 weeks now by feeding them crickets which she buys. Norma for one thing just can't see going to a store and buying crickets and then can't see feeding them or being around when those crickets might be eaten and having it all in your bedroom. But that's what makes the world go around, people who love each other but are polar opposites.
We are taking them to one of our favorite bb'q places tonight. The meat comes to the table just smoked, so just mostly protein since they use lean meats. It there are a ought 8 sauces on the table and you pick the one you want. There are healthy or no healthy sides. Plus they have free tootsie roll pops!
Love you all, rained last night, Joyce, Indiana5 -

Went to the deep water class. The plan for tomorrow is to do an Enormously Strong DVD by Gin Miller.
barbie - I must say that you look so much younger in the second picture (the one where you've lost the weight). In the first one, to me anyway, you look like this frumpy old grandmother. In the second one you look so much more vibrant.
Got the marinade ready for the chicken and the pork chops last night. The husband of a friend who Vince used to work with usually plays a softball game about an hour from here and for the last few years we've met them. She was supposed to call last night to see about getting together. I know the brother of her husband hasn't been real well. They never called last night, so I don't know what the story is. Well, we can meet them if we can. Update: we're supposed to meet them Sun. for dinner. I expect it'll be an early dinner since they probably want to get on the road.
There was the blue protective covering on the handles to the freezer. I never could get it completely off. Now that Becca showed us that she still has hers on her dishwasher, I wish I'd kept mine on the handles to the freezer
machka - you certainly are one busy lady! Is that a Saturn Outlook you have? We have one.
Well, Jess told me where the bridal shower would be. She wanted it one place, but the other girls voted her down. In the end, the place she wanted would have been cheaper. I'm betting that they'll have it catered by Olive Garden because one of the girls works there. The other place (the one Jess wanted) did all the catering there, they had a kitchen. They probably took care of the drinks, silverware, paper goods, etc. I hope the girls think of those things. Denise said that she was OK with it being a buffet but she wanted a place for people to sit down and eat. I guess that's what it's like at this place.
Just now Denise asked me if I could help her with her wedding bags. Seems she's going to put the koosh (I'm not crazy about that -- I'll probably never use it) and I think something else in these burlap bags. Pete's mother asked if I could somehow decorate the bags since she's done so much (yea, I know, every time I turn around she's doing something else, even things I've asked her not to do). Denise told me that she has these shower favors but they are just these mirrors. How funny! That's exactly what my father's wife gave as a favor at the shower she gave me. Not that I wanted a shower, I'd told the attendants that I didn't want one. But his wife gave me one -- mainly so that she could invite the people she wanted and she thought I'd feel guilty since they were invited to the shower and gave me a gift so much that I'd invite them to the wedding. Didn't happen!
Lenora - the reason you work planks is that they work your abs plus your arms.

Allie - So sorry about Tom's cousin's mom. when you say "go down there", where is "there"? Since Tom is in FL, do you think he'll come back for her?
There are these shag classes, and since Denise is getting married I really think Vince and I need to look decent on the dance floor. When I mentioned to him that a gal invited us to go with her, you should have seen his reaction! "I can't dance, not with my knee" (you'd think he was one of the Newcomers)", etc, etc, but he's going. Even tho he's already told me not to expect that he'll dance. I do hope he at least tries it. What happened is she told me how she'd gone to some reunions and found that she can't dance (see, she had a stroke and looks like this is one of the things that she lost) so she's going there to probably help with her rehab.

This has been a fun line dance day. I taught my regular two hour class in the morning then there was a party and since I don't eat at potlucks, I led dancing through most of the party. When I got home, Jake and the pets were napping so I joined them.

joyce I think it's sweet that Charlie makes scrambled eggs with GD. What a sweet memory she'll have of their special relationship. NYKAREN

Becca - if your DH gets too amorous, send him inland next week. Weatherman says 107 in Portland on Wednesday! Too hot for anything! Hope they are wrong. Ugh. At least the nights are in the 60's and not the mid-80's.
Anyhow, get ready for a fabulous weekend, ladies! And keep cool while you can!

Well, we just got back from that dance place. Interesting place, they had a dance studio but now they're integrating this new studio with food at their restaurant. It wasn't real crowded, but I must say that the food was pretty good. I just had a meatball, but it was surprisingly good.
At least I got Vince at the point where he's willing to go for a dance lesson. The first one is free, I don't know how much subsequent ones will be. I hope not too much, I don't want us to look like weirdos on the dance floor at Denise's wedding.

back from my evening out~what a blast, I was smart and brought ear plugs, it is a tiki bar outdoors ,but I feel much better protecting my hearing, there was a boatload of people there, and some old high school friends...
Aunt Margaret is about 45-50 minutes away , I did tell Tom ,I said we went down a week ago to see her, and he said if he needs to he will come back..he should get to Florida house sometime tomorrow afternoon.3 -
Some walking statistics. I thought I'd look back to see how I was doing this year and if I was on track. I knew I was ahead of the game early on, but a surgery in May ground things to a halt and then travelling for a month in June/July meant that we were doing more cycling and less walking. I'm pleased to see I'm still ahead of the game.
And a large portion of all that walking is utility walking.
Walking to date 2017: 673.05 km
Walking to date 2016: 613.12 km
Walking to date 2015: 597.55 km3
