Good morning ladies, I'm sorry I've not been very active on the boards lately but I've not been feeling very well at all. While my back pain has subsided for the most part I now believe i'm coming down with a cold b/c I have bodyaches, headaches, a scratchy throat and have been sneezing. I've been trying to combat it as best I can but it is slowly getting the best of me.

I didn't even complete yesterday's workout until late in the day. I kept procrastinating and finally I pulled myself out of the bed and jogged for 30 minutes. I have no idea the distance I covered but I felt I was moving at a decent pace. I have not decided what I will do for today's workout but I hope to shake this feeling b/c I've not been on my game and I don't want all my hard work to fall by the wasteside. My eating hasn't been horribly but I've not been eating on a schedule like I normally do and my workouts havent been intense since last week and I don't want to lose the momentum.

    Good morning!
Last night I was able to get in a horrible 5 mile jog. I say horrible because it is NO fun being 2 miles from home and have an emergency bathroom situation!! I about died...I tried to book it home as fast as possible. Ugh, oh well. Every once in a while I have some bad running days, this one was just embarrassing!

This morning I woke up early and completed 15 minutes of high intensity cardio drills, followed by 40 minutes of ChaLean Extreme. It felt amazzzzzzing! Its a great day, I just know it! Tonight we're heading over to the Farmer's Market to get some fresh produce. I'm very excited! I've been trying to conquer some of my food excuses that I make sometimes. And last night I conquered one of them!! If you want to read about it and get the recipe, here's the link to my blog.

    Have a great day ladies!

Choco-- I think you definitely need some rest girl, don't worry about not getting your workouts in. In fact, if it makes you feel any better. I didn't workout out Mon or Tuesday this week, and I was feeling just fine. I could just tell my body needed some rest. And it did wonders, cause I lost another pound!!! I think sometimes we overwork our bodies, and they do so much for us, that giving them adequate rest, especially when sick, is definitely worth it.

kaittx13- welcome! I enjoyed your thread about how people think healthy eaters are "weird". I've definitely been categorized as that. I finally just tell people at work that I can't have the food they push in front of me because "I'm a health freak", since no other excuse works. It gets frustrating sometimes!! Anyways, glad you're here!

Where's everyone else been!!! I know we only make our challenges once a week...but it would be nice to hear from ya'll!!!

Good morning ladies, it seems like we are all in struggling in some form or fashion but let's not give up. We're a strong group of women who have bonded together over the last 6 months and will continue to offer support when needed. I too am still not feeling well. My back is still bothering me (not as much as earlier in the week) and I'm trying to fight this oncoming cold. I'm still sneezing and sniffling yet I feel like my noes is stuffed. My head and body are still aching. There's no work today so I plan to rest for the majority of it.

Despite still not feeling my best I did manage to complete a workout. As I stated in an early post, I'm keeping it light this week so I completed 2.5 miles of the Leslie Sansone wallking dvd for a total of 32 minutes.

Dawna: You're probably right about taking a break from exercise but I'm fearful that if I take a break and not do anything (stretching, a light workout) that one day will turn into two days and then the next thing you know i've regained all the weight. I am sure I sound a bit over dramatic but my history has shown that once I become relaxed it's hard to pull myself out of it and so easy for me to regain the weight. I have recently donated 2 large garbage bags of clothes (some with price tags still on them) that no longer fit and I don't want to go back there. I don't have any major plans this weekend so while my workouts will be light I do plan to get as much rest as possible.

Choco- you gotta believe in yourself girl!! If you are feeling ok-maybe not great, but ok, then I think doing a light workout is fine. But, if it gets bad and miserable, get your rest!! Believe in yourself, you work so hard that even though history says one thing...we can always change our future. we can't do anything about the past, but if you believe in youself and don't give up your current attitude and mentality, you can totally do this! and taking a rest won't seem like some step towards failure, it will just seem like a day for your body to regain its strength. Hope that helps. You work so hard girl, and are such an inspiration!! You can do this!! :)

Good morning ladies, I'm still not 100% but slowly improving. Since I have a wedding reception to attend this evening I decided to take a run to Walmart to pick up the gift card for the lovely couple. It was already humid at 8 am so it made my run a bit difficult especially since I'm already congested but I stuck with it and now the workout is complete (2 miles total). You really can't beat killing 2 birds w/one stone. I was able to pick up a gift for the couple and get the workout done in one shot.....WooHoo.

Dawna: Thank you for such encouraging words they did really help. There's no need dwelling on my past failures as it relates to maintaining my weight especially when I've been going strong for over 7 months. According to MFP I have logged on for 210 consecutive days and had I not missed the day after Christmas it would have been even longer so my recent history (past 7 months) shows that I can definitely do this. Thank again for the support.

    Hey guys,

Hope everyone is doing good

porterbaby38: congrats on breaking that plateau! That's excellent news!

sngnyrslp: I ordered a copy of the 30 day shred a couple of days ago (I'm getting a bit bored of my existing workout DVDs) so we can keep each other motivated

kicklikeaGIRL: needing the loo on a run (or out in general) is like my WORST nightmare, I'm impressed you made it home! I'm lucky enough to have a park directly behind my house and at the moment I haven't managed to go further afield than that when running :ohwell: .

I think I am going to have a goal for the next two weeks (until I go on holiday, YIPPEE!) I bravely bought a couple of bikinis for my holiday and am determined to wear them! So to get me more confident I am going to do my abdominal exercises (crunches etc) everyday instead of every other day for the next two weeks!

Good afternoon ladies and happy Sunday! While I'm still not 100% over this cold I do feel like i'm slowly progressing. I'm still sneezing and sniffling w/a slight headache but the bodyaches have subsided. Since today is my designated rest day I told myself I would keep it light. It's entirely too hot and humid for me to think about jogging outside so I headed to the gym. I started out light on the treadmill and then before I knew it I was completing a 15 min HIIT alternating between 7.0-8.0 mph as my intense speed and 6.3-6.5 for my recovery speed. Once I hopped off the treadmill I decided to see what I could do on the elliptical and 15 minutes later I had burned over 150 calories. I still wasn't ready to call it a day so got on the spinning bike for 25 minutes. So when the workout was all said and done I had completed 55 minutes and burned almost 500 calories. I think I will add some stretching in a little later but it felt good to bring it. I just hope I don't pay for it later since I'm not quite back (I felt ok in the moment, so that's why I went for it.)

Porterbaby: Congrats on breaking through the Plateau. Youve been very dedicated to your workouts so it was bound to happen sooner than later. Sorry it took a little longer than you had hoped but you did it nonetheless.

Lu123: Hope you enjoy your upcoming vacay and am able to rock out those bikinis. It's amazing how one's confidence skyrockets when they feel good about their body. I know I have a different pep in my step when my hair, nails, pedicure and outfit are all on point especially now that I can really appreciate my body. I'm nowhere near were I want to be but I can appreciate the hard work I've put and the results I've seen thus far. I'm really considering purchasing Chaleane Extreme as my next program since I continue to hear great things and I would like more muscle definition.

I haven't posted in a while, sorry about that! I'm going on vacation for five days tomorrow and won't have any internet access, so I won't be back on here until Friday. I think I've decided to forgo weight loss for my vacation and stick to maintenance. I'm not in any rush to get to my goal weight and I really want to enjoy my vacation. Plus, without MFP it will be VERY tough to stay on track with losing. So I'm going to go easy on myself instead. I am going to try and run a couple of times on my vacation and swim as much as possible. Plus we're going hiking one day. So while this vacation may be heavy on the calories, it will also be heavy on the exercise. Hopefully it'll balance out!

lu123: Awesome! I can't wait for 30DS, and it'll be great to have another person keeping me accountable!

choco: I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well, but I'm so impressed that you haven't given up on your exercise or your goals despite not being 100%. That's really amazing!

porter: Congratulations on beating that plateau!!

Good morning ladies, I'm happy to announce that I'm almost back to 100%. The sneezing and bodyaches have subsided but the sniffling and slight headache still remain. I will continue taking medication in hopes of being 100% by later in the week. Today is day 1, week 12 of the P90X program and I rocked out the chest and back dvd. I found myself able to complete a lot more push ups than ever before so I'm super duper excited about it. My upper body strength still sucks so I still despise push ups but I am noticeably stronger so I guess something is working.

good morning! i had a great weekend, got lots of sun and got a great exercise in on Saturday. Also bought a big basket of veggies using the local co-op. Its awesome. You get a laundry basket full of produce for only $15. Its totally worth it. I'm finding that now that my husband is out of school for a few weeks, I have a hard time getting on here. hope you all have a great day!

Good morning everyone and happy hump day! As everyone is aware I've been working from home for the past 6 weeks and yesterday right in the middle of my morning snack I got blindsided by my supervisor. She called me on my agency cell phone and informed me that I had been requested to assist another unit with an assignment that was going to require me to work out in the field for th next week. While I was thrilled that other supervisor's recognize my hard work and want me as part of their team I was not mentally prepared to head back into the field just yet. I had an hour to get my things together and head out of the door. Here's were being organized really came in handy. Since I was already showered and my clothes are ironed for the week it didn't take much for me to throw my lunch and afternoon snack together and get out the door.

So, today I had to get up at 5 am in order to get the workout in, eat breakfast, shower and head out the door. Today is week 12, day 3 of the P90X program which means it's a shoulders and arms day. Since I worked my arms on Monday completing all the push-ups that are apart of the chest and back routine and I worked them yesterday b/c of Billy Blanks total body cardio bootcamp my arms were already sore but I was still able to bring it. I felt really good after today's workout.

good morning ladies, i did alot yesterday. i moved everything out of the livingroom and the bedroom and vaccum, shampoo the carpets, wash down the walls.put the bed apart and cleaned it washed all the furniture. i started it around 8:30a.m. and got done late. after that i finished up the dishes, laundry and then went outside and started to stain the deck. i didn't get all of it done, but it's a start. now i woke up this morning with a terrible sinus problem and a sore throat. even though i don't feel that great i still did 45 min of a workout with zumba and hip hop abs, plus staighted up the house alittle bit. my man didn't want me to work on the deck, but i wanted to work it some more, i just shouldn't have told him i not feeling that great.:grumble:

Good afternoon all! I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday but work was pure chaos. My team and I had a deadline to meet which meant working late Thursday night and getting in early on Friday.
I was able to get the workout in prior to heading into the office.

Yesterday was week 12, day 5 of the P90X program so I completed the leg and back routine.
I rocked that workout so much I can feel the soreness today, I love the feeling of knowing you rocked out a workout.

Today is week 12, day 6 of the P90X program which means its a Kenpo X day but since I'm not at home I had to improvise.
I completed 30 minutes on the elliptical machine and burned over 300 calories so I'm feeling GREAT!

Porterbaby: I don't know how you do all the things you do around the house AND still do a workout routine. I'm getting tired just reading your post. Great job.

hey! its been a few days...I've been a little preoccupied with getting ready for my mandatory 10 day vacation! Yahoo! Its not too much of a vacation since I don't have much money to do any traveling. But, it will be a fun week. We're planning to do some fun things around this area that we've never done before, especially since we won't be living here for too much longer once the hubby is finished with school. So, we're going to go hiking, river tubing, playing frisbee at this lake that is only like 3 feet deep, golfing, horseback riding, and a nice drive into Yellowstone. It should be a fun-filled week!!

well today i ran 11.5 miles. i ran at a 11 minute mile pace average...which for me, kind of sucks. but, i blame it on the blasted HEAT! i got up around 6:30 on a SATURDAY..haha.. ugh. and i figured that would give me an hour to get some fuel, do a jog, stretch, etc. I also decided to be smart this time and go place water bottles every 3 miles or so on my course, that way I could stay hydrated. So, by the time i got out for my official run, it was already 85 degrees with 50% humidity. Now, i'm not used to that humidity stuff. I used to be when I lived in Minnesota...but in Idaho I'm used to the dry heat. It was miserable. By mile 6 I felt like I was at mile 10. I had my cell phone with me and I called my hubby to see if he could bring me some Gatorade because I needed to refuel pretty bad, and water wasn't cutting it. So, needless to say, it was a VERY warm run. I feel good that I finished that many miles. For me, it is my first PR (personal record) for distance, and I guess for time as well. So, I'm pretty confident I can beat that time on the race day, which is in 4 weeks. The craziest part is I burned over 1600 calories. :noway: CRAZY!! I'm going to try to get as much fuel as I can for the day, cause I'm going golfing later tonight.

Have a great day everyone! hope you are all staying on track! I know CHOCO and PORTERBABY are keepin up with their routines! way to go ladies!!!

Today is week 12 day 7 of the P90X program so I completed 70 minutes of stretching. My body really needed and appreciated today's stretch. My work assignment is due tomorrow by 10 am so I've been working on it the entire weekend and today will be no different.

Dawna: Great job w/your 11.5 mile run sorry it didn't feel so good while you were out there but glad you stuck w/it and got it done. You're going to rock out your 1/2 marathon.

Good morning everyone and happy Monday! Today starts my FINAL week of the P90X program. The last week is a recovery week so I'm going to take it easy. Today Yoga was on the schedule and I'm happy to report that I did complete a yoga routine. I opted for Denise Austin's Yoga burn dvd because it was a lot shorter. My lower back has been bothering me since yesterday so I plan on doing some more stretching before the day is over.

I can't believe I completed the whole 13 weeks. I know I improvised w/different routines when I got bored but overall I stayed with it and am happy with my results. I don't have numbers report (weight & inches lost) but I can clearly see definition over my entire body especially the back, biceps and quads. I'm really proud of myself and so happy to have found a website that has such supportive people.

I ordered the Chalean Extreme program today so I'm hoping it will be here by early next week I also hope to improve on the progress I made and lower my body fat %

Hi ladies, its been a while (been up to see my extended family and such) diet kinda died at the weekend but am back on it with renewed determination since yesterday!
I missed a couple of days of crunches over the weekend as I was super tired (stayed in a hotel which seemed to have the most uncomfortable beds in the world! I've never slept so badly in my LIFE!) but knuckling down to it this week as the holiday starts this Saturday eekkkk!!!! :drinker: :flowerforyou:
Been doing the 30DS as well and am loving it, hadn't been finding my muscles achy the next day up until yesterday when I decided to do it twice, am now a little bit achy pushing through the pain and keeping doing it everyday though

Chocolickkyss: 13 weeks is so impressive, that's dedication right there! Well Done!!!!

porterbaby38: wow you seem to do tons of housework/DIY sounds like a good way to burn off those calories!

kicklikeaGIRL: Vacation sounds good, nice and outdoorsy those are the best holidays in my opinion! Love horse riding, can't afford it at the moment but I used to go every week, is brilliant on the thighs and abs (though I think English riding and American riding is slightly different???) Well done on that run, sounded like a toughy, I'm amazed at that calorie burn!!!! Congrats!

Good afternoon everyone! My summer vacation is officially over b/c tomorrow I begin working in the office again. My team and I will report to one of our locations tomorrow and will be there until late fall. Therefore, I will have to begin getting up at 5 am in order to get those workouts in.

Today is week 13, day 2 of the P90X program which means it's recovery week. I rocked out 40 minutes of Core Cardio & Balance from the Insanity program. This is a full body workout and my upper body always feels it when completing the level 1 drills, walking planks and the shoulder burners.

Dawna: Hope your enjoying your vacation and time w/hubby.

Porterbaby: Great job w/getting all that housework done AND still doing a regular workout. I agree w/lu123 all the housework could count for a workout b/c I'm sure you burn a lot of calories but then again I'm sure you accounted for all that work when you completed your MFP profile. I'm not really active in my day to day so my workouts is the best way for me to burn calories.

Lu123: Glad you're enjoying the 30 day shred. Hopefully you'll get the results you desire. Keep it up.

Good morning everyone and happy Friday! It will be another quick post b/c the work duties are already calling. Today is week 13, day 5 of the P90X program which means I'm still in recovery mode. My body really has been sore plus i've not had a lot of energy these past few days so i'm loving the fact that this is an easier week on my body. I completed the Cardio Recovery dvd from the Insanity program.

good morning ladies. will i'm weigh myself this morning for one of my challenges, and of course it wasn't that great. i just don't get it, i log in everyday to put in what i ate and the workout s and other things i do. i just keep myself busy.i watch what i eat, i drink my water. i just can't seem to get those lbs. to go down. by my notebook where i keep track of things, i've been in 165lbs. to 169lbs. for about 7 months now it just won't go on down more. i know i'm losing the inches big time but those stupid lbs. just won't budge.i do three challenges mondays, fridays and saturdays. but each time the scale is doing it's thing, with the numbers. i would at least like to be in the 150's that way i would be close to my goal. i'm constantly doing things, i'm just so frustrated. i don't go to gyms, i just do my own thing, i have my workout dvds, i go walking, i do work around the house. i do the machines upstairs. i don't hardly watch tv. i just listen to music. the only time i use the tv is for my workouts and listen to the music and boogie my booty lol.

Good afternoon and happy Saturday. My back has been bothering me since yesterday so I've decided to take it easy today. I walked for 30 minutes and I will do some stretching. My Chalean Extreme program arrived yesterday so I'll be spending today and tomorrow reviewing the program and getting prepared so I can begin on Monday. It looks like I need to purchase some heavier weights plus I have to go grocery shopping so that will take place tomorrow.

I'm going to be resting for most of the day b/c I have a pool party/bbq birthday party to attend later this evening and I'm hoping my back will feel better by then.

Porterbaby: I wish I had the answer for you. When I hit my plateau I cut back on the intensity of my workouts and ate healthy but went over my calories for about a week and then went real hard w/everything and I was able to get a break through. You're going to have to find a way to shock/trick your body but since everyone is different you may have to try different things to see what works best for you.

Good evening and Happy Sunday: As I stated in yesterday's post my Chalean Extreme program arrived on Friday so I've been spending the last couple of days getting acclimated. Today I completed the fit test.

    FIT TEST, DAY 1:

Push ups: 24 (on toes). I could have done more but my arms were still sore from all the push-ups last week
Crunches: 42 (not bad since my back has been bothering me)
    Squats: 102
Forearm Plank: position held for 1 minute 41 seconds
Overhead Shoulder Press: 11 reps (according to the directions I should have been struggling by rep 10 so it looks like 10 lb weights will be my heaviest for the Burn phase)
Bicep Curls: 12 reps (once again I should have been struggling by rep 10 and since I wasn't the directions stated to increase weights)

    MEASUREMENTS DAY 1:

Waist: at belly button: 31 in, above belly button: 28 1/2, below belly button: 32 1/2 (my waist is definitely my problem area)
    Hips: 34 1/2
    Abductors: 36 3/4
    Chest 31 1/4
    Right Arm: 10 3/4
    Left Arm: 10 3/4
    Right Thigh: 20
    Left Thigh: 19 3/4
    Weight: 122.5
Body Fat %: 19.2 (based on the caliper test that comes w/the program)

As a result of the above results I went out and purchased another set of weights. I now have 3 lbs, 5 lbs, 8 lbs, 10 lbs & 15 lbs. In addition to the weights I went grocery shopping based on the Chalean Extreme food guide. A lot of the recipes are easy enough for a non cooker like myself to handle. Don't think I'll follow the food guide to the "T" but will use it as a guideline.

Porterbaby: Congratulations on your loss. Hope it continues.

    hey ladies!
i didn't check in at all this past week--- it was my vacation and I rarely had my phone or computer near me. It was relaxing and we played a lot! We traveled a bit, and did a lot of fun things! I need a vacation from my vacation! I exercised most of the week, everyday except Saturday & Sunday. Sundays are my typical rest days and Saturday we went river rafting and it was too hot outside to get run in. We had tried to, but it was 90+ degrees at 8am. No way! My eating got a little out of hand on Friday & Saturday, but I am back at it today. I think my eating really contributed to not being on my typical eating schedule. My in-laws didn't have a ton of healthy food, so I tried as best as I could. But, last night I felt sick from all the crap I ate. Oh well. Its time to get back into the routine. I'm not too worried about it, I know I'll be back to full speed soon. I've got to get my body refueled to be able to handle my running sessions!

Well, hope you all are having a great Monday! It was SO hard to come back to work...ugh.

Choco- how did you like your first session of CLX?

Good afternoon all and happy Monday! Today was my first day with Chalean Extreme and I must say it will take a little getting use to just b/c of the slower pace. I'm so use to the high Intensity of Insanity and P90X that I kept wondering if I was doing something wrong. I know I will adjust. So, today I completed Burn Circuit 1 and I added Ab Burners just to see how I liked it and overall I'm happy w/the outcome. I lifted heavy when necessary and I can already feel it.

Dawna: I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation and were able to do a lot of fun things. The summer is almost over so get it while you can.
