Good morning and happy Tuesday! Today is week 1, day 2 of the Chalean Extreme (CLX) program. According to the workout schedule it's suppose to be a rest day but I decided to replace it w/a little cardio. I completed the Turbo Jam - Fat Blaster dvd that was included in the program as a bonus. This workout was a quick way to get the heart rate up and overall I enjoyed it. Since I wasn't familiar w/the moves I'm sure I didn't burn as many calories as I could of but I did work up a sweat.

Good morning and happy hump day! A quick post as work duties are SCREAMING  my name this morning. Today is week 1 day 3 of the Chalean Extreme program and I completed Burn Circuit 2. My arms and upper back are sore from the sloooooooowwwwww bicep curls and rows. It's amazing how much I sweat even though I'm not going at an insane speed.

    good morning!
woke up early this morning to get a nice 4.5 mile jog in. it felt great. i hadn't run since Saturday so I was a little worried, but it worked out just fine. my husband went with me this morning, and i tried really hard to be patient as i know it wasn't easy for him to get up so early. he really wanted to test out his new running shoes. i love having him there for security reasons, but the poor guy is slightly out of shape from being in school full time and working part time, and therefore, not having as much time as he would like to exercise. so....he's a bit out of shape and we had to stop a few times to walk, which i don't usually do. but i love this boy and its fun to have him as company, even when he huffs and puffs really loudly. haha! the best part is that he made me breakfast, he's so sweet! scrambled egg whites with cheese on top of a sourdough english muffin with some homemade salsa. YUM!

hope you all have a great day!

Porterbaby- thanks, I had a great vacation! I really didn't want to come back to work...

Choco- I love CLX! It was hard for me to get used to it at first because I'm used to high intensity cardio. But, it definitely tones & burns body fat! I always do at least 15 minutes of cardio warm up to get my heart pumping so I can stretch before, it tends to help with the soreness. But, the soreness is a good thing.....building muscle, and therefore burning more fat!! yahoo!

what happened to the rest of our crew?

Good morning and happy Thursday! Today is week 1 day 4 of the Chalean Extreme program so it was a cardio day. This was my first time completing the Burn Intervals workout and boy oh boy what a workout. The cardio piece was not as excruciating as I had expected although some of the moves had to be modified to pain in my knee BUT the strength training portion was no joke. I know you lift light during this part of the routine and I did (never going over 5 lbs) but the duration and the pace of each exercise had me wanting to curse someone out. I mean between the bazillion bicep curls, overhead presses, overhead extensions, tricep kickbacks and lateral raises my upper body is burning. It's amazing I can even lift a finger to type this post.

I'm still adjusting to this program but if I stick with it i'm sure I'll have great results.

Dawna: I loved your post b/c I could picture your hubby huffing and puffing while you're just trucking along on your jog. I thiink it's so cute that he got up and at least tried and great of you to have patience.

    hello hello!
my day has been flying by today! i hope the afternoon goes by just as fast! it reminds me of the movie "Click" with Adam Sandler. I wish that with life you could speed up certain things like... work, papsmears, labor, TOM, stop lights, long lines at walmart, etc. And slow certain things down like... sleep time, vacations, fall weather (my favorite time of year), spending time with friends, date nights...etc. But, life just chugs along. Its crazy how fast time flies. I've been on this journey for just about a year and I feel like I've come so far. Sometimes I feel like I haven't made as much progress as I should have. But, I don't mind a slow and steady weight loss. In the process I've overcome my fears and really changed my eating lifestyle. Its great! I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning, so I am going to do a short run after work today. Going to shoot for a 13 mile run on Saturday, since its about 2 weeks before my race and I want to be there mentally. But, if I only get a 10 miler in this Saturday, I'll be okay with that too. I've been trying to avoid workouts that could potentially give me injury or too much soreness at this point, so I'm planning on sticking to running 2 times during the week, and possibly 1 Burn Interval workout during the week. I looooove me some Sumo Burpees! I have gotten it down to where I do about 5 more than they do in the same amount of time. A lot of times I'll start it over and do a full 50 burpees...love it!

Good morning all and TGIF! Today is week 1 day 5 of the Chalean Extreme program so it was strength training for me. I completed Burn Circuit 3 and then added in Cardio Abs from the Insanity program. All I can say about Chalean's program is that it's working something b/c every inch of my body is sore especially my shoulders. I think I'm going to have a love/hate relationship with the heavy and slow lifting. I can honestly this is the first time w/my lifting that I still feel the burn well after the workout has been completed so there really is a method to this madness.

Dawna: It seems like we began our journey around the same time b/c the beginning of November will be my 1 year MFP anniversary and what a year it has been. I'm so thankful to have been introduced to this website and to have made a decision to stick w/it despite the setbacks that life throws your way. While I know the number on the scale may not be reading what you want I know you have made great strides. You are a workout bandit and are so inspiring w/all the workouts you manage to squeeze in a day and w/the variety of workouts you complete. I know you'll do great on your 1/2 marathon and I can't wait to read your post about it. I had to re-read the section of your post about the sumo burpees b/c I said there's no way she could be saying she loves these things b/c they are pure torture for me.:grumble:  :grumble: :noway: :noway:

    Good afternoon all!

Yesterday was week 1 day 6 of the Chalean Extreme program which meant it was a cardio day. I completed the Burn It Off workout.

Today is week 1 day 7 of the Chalean Extreme program. I completed the Recharge dvd which is just a little of stretching and Yoga. I'm absolutely exhausted today. I had a late night w/friends yesterday and was up early today in order to complete the following tasks: grocery shopping, today's workout, ironing clothes for the work week and washing/folding the rest of the clothes.

I have to go take a nap. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

    hi ladies!
its been a rough day for me today. i got to bed super late last night and woke up thinking it was a stay-in-bed-kind-of-day. But, I forced myself to get up and get to work. But, when I got here I realized that on Friday while I was volunteering at a charity golf tournament, a co-worker really created a huge mess. Like, tornado disaster that I have spent all day trying to fix. Lots of tears. It was horrible. Talk about bad day. Well, I'm ready to get home and eat some yummy stir-fry. Its a lazy night for me tonight. Plus, I did a lot this weekend so I'm trying to rest up. I did 12 miles on Saturday, I was going to do 13 but by the time I got to 10 I realized I didn't want to push it and end up with a stress fracture or something. So, I limited it to 12. I finished in just over 2 hours. It was hard, but the weather was cool and brisk since it had rained the night before. So, it was a beautiful run. Sunday I went for a nice walk and stretch, and today I am hoping to rest for the most part. I will maybe go for a light jog/walk to loosen up my muscles and stretch some more. Only 2 weeks until the race! Yahoo!

Good morning and happy Tuesday! Today is week 2 day 2 of the Chalean Extreme program which means it's a designated rest day but of course I had to get a workout in. Once again I threw in the bonus dvd - Turbo Jam - Fat Blaster. This week I was a little more in tune w/the moves so could go a little harder. There are 8 turbos in this workout (broken down into 4 sets of 2). You complete the first turbo low intensity and then repeat the moves at a much faster pace. Since I was feeling pretty good today I decided to up my tempo for the first set. I wasn't moving extremely fast but a lot faster than they were and as a result I had a pretty good burn.

Dawna: Great job w/that 12 mile run. I can't even fathom running 12 miles or for 2 hours consistently. I'm definitely taking a bow to you on this. I think you're going to do awesome on the race. Sorry to learn you had a bad work day yesterday but today is a new day and hopefully it will be a lot better.

good afternoon! last night was a great night, and really relaxing. some comfort food, some sweats, and a movie. we even went for a nice walk. today I'm planning on doing a short 3 mile run followed by the Burn Intervals. I haven't been doing any heavy lifting because I am always so sore and I didn't want to pull anything. I'm really wanting to get back to my early morning workouts. I was doing great last week. I love it because it gives me so much more time to get things done at night and enjoy my evenings. My only downside now is that it is still super dark at 5:30, and my brain has a hard time wanting to wake up when it is still dark outside. After my Half Marathon I'm going to get serious into my lifting, and I think I'm going to get Insanity. Not sure if my neighbors downstairs will enjoy me doing the exercise...but I think it should really kick my butt.

Choco- so glad you got a great burn with Turbo Jam. I love those workouts! I always get a great burn and a lot of times I don't feel like I was working out because the music and the moves. Yahoo! I have weighted boxing gloves that I wear, and HOLY COW I get a major burn with those puppies! My arms are exhausted by the end! Hope you see some great results with CLX. Its hard to get used to going slow... I have a hard time with that because I'm a cardio junkie. But, its amazing how great it works!

hi ladies, will yesterday was a bummer day, i couldn't get myself to do anything. my sinues and allergies was terrible to, still today, but i got myself to do things today. but yesterday all i wanted to do was eat. i don't know what the blanky blank, was running through my brain. i did do some workout but not much. then today TOM pays me a visit. i did get my walking in, straightened up the house, did my workouts and i did alittle bit of yoga. i know i have more willpower then that. i can't do anything outside because it is raining.

choco: awesome job on getting Charelene in, i bet that workout dvd of hers is great. but how in the world can you do p90x, i tried to do two of his workouts with the weights and the push-ups. i was so sore in my chest, arms for three or more days. plus my arms are so weak, i like doing p90x, because it totally hard and challenging, but my right side neck down to my knee is very weak. i so happy for that you did it and stuck with it. good luck with charelene.

kicklikeagirl: i'm glad you had a relaxing evening, i hope you enjoyed your movie. good luck on your running and your burn intervals. let me know about the Insanity if it really works.

to rest of the ladies: What happened to all and we miss you.

Good morning and happy Thursday! Today is my Friday b/c my job is experiencing furloughs and tomorrow is the designated day. While I would much rather have my money, I actually have gotten use to the Furloughs and actually enjoy having the day off. I might attend a Happy Hour after work today and hit a movie tomorrow during the day.

Today is week 2 day 4 of the Chalean Extreme program which means it's a cardio day. Despite not being into the workout in the very beginning (I've been dragging this week) I was able to really rock it out. Once again the Bazillian bicep curls and all the shoulder work kicked my booty but it was well worth it.

Porterbaby: Great job w/kicking TOM in the *kitten* and pushing through all your workouts.

TGIF everyone! Since I didn't have to work today due to the furlough I was able to sleep in a little longer and I am so happy I did b/c my body really needed the extra rest. I'm still dragging but not nearly as bad as I had been earlier in the week. Today is week 2 day 5 of the Chalean Extreme program which means it's a strength training day. I completed the Burn Circuit 3 workout and I think this might be my least favorite workout due to all the shoulder work that's being done. I'm not sure why but I hate push ups and any type of shoulder exercise. Nonetheless, I pushed through and gave it my all and when it was all over I was glad that I had pushed through the temptation to skip it and do something easier.

    Hi everyone!
I woke up early this morning to complete a session of the Burn Intervals, and then ate a yummy bowl of oatmeal with some raisins, honey, walnuts & cinnamon. It was delish! I have to admit that I haven't been as religious about loggin into MFP lately, and I'm just getting burned out from feeling like I have to. I feel like I've gotten my eating habits down pretty well, and it seems monotonous to keep calorie counting when I know pretty close to where I am at on any given day. I've backed off the message boards, and have decided that soon I will start up my own blog, not affiliated with MFP as an outlet to share my workouts, eating & other fun stuff. I'll probably still keep periodic track of my calories, but as of right now I'm just burned out! So, if you don't see me around here as often, that is why. So, keep in touch! I always respond to emails on this site. It may not be that exact day, but whenever I do log in. I'll try to keep in touch as often as I can. I am sorry ladies! I may be back to message boards in full swing at another time. Once I set up my new blog, I'll give it to ya'll, in case you want to keep in touch!

choco- keep up the great work with ChaLean...you'll see some great results as you stick with it! go heavy or go home!!

good afternoon ladies. i have some exciting news. yesterday i went for along walk to wal-mart which is on the other side of the town. i wanted to try on clothes, jeans especially. will since my size 4's are getting kinda of loose around the waist. i thought a size 2 would be the next size to go into, but i could not find any twos in misses. so i asked a worker there, and she said for me to try on a size 9 juniors. i tried on a size 9's LEI jeans, i've always like those jeans. with me being on TOM i didn't htink they would fit. i couldn't believe it but they actually fit i almost cried there in the store. i've never been in a junior size. i've never stick to anything, like losing weight and still working on my body, before i always gave up, because i always got so depressed about life. i'm sorry for venting, but i can't help it. thanks to all my friends and mfp. i know i will get my body fit and trim and full of confidence. thanks ladies you are my friends and i have alot of friends on here.

Happy Saturday everyone! I must admit I procrastinated and procrastinated with today's workout but I finally pulled myself out of the bed and got it done. It's extremely helpful that the CLX workouts are pretty quick. I kept telling myself, "you can do 30 minutes" and before I knew I had pressed play and once getting my sweat on.

Today is week 2 day 6 of the CLX program which means it's a cardio day. I completed the Burn It Off dvd. Now that the workout is behind me I'm going to rest for the remainder of the day b/c my girlfriends and I have dinner reservations for 6:30 pm and then are going to the Peachtree Village International Film Festival to see the screening of a friend's first movie. She's an awesome author and I'm looking forward to seeing how you brings her vision to the big screen.

Dawna: sorry to see you go but please check in on us every once in a while. You're so dedicated to your new lifestyle that I have no doubts that you will be successful w/o continuously logging onto MFP.

    hi ladies!
i'm lookin for some new music, so i thought i'd stop and say hi! my 5.5 mile run this morning didn't go as great as i thought it would. i hope i'm getting this horrible run out of my system before next saturday! but, i pushed through despite the nasty grasshoppers & extreme wind & blazing sun. my hubby and i are celebrating tonight, we're celebrating a whopping 2 years married! haha! its also 5 years this month since we met each other and started an amazing relationship. time sure flies!! i've already been out of college for 3 years, it seems ridiculous.

choco- way to get the Burn Intervals in today! What kind of calorie burn are you seeing on those??

porterbaby- way to rock the junior section girl!!

BTW, i still really want to keep checking up on you gals!! i don't think i can just leave. but, during the week it might be more difficult at times for me to write. partly because i got a promotion at work and am now currently doing 3 X's the work I was doing before. its crazy, but i don't mind, it makes the day go by shorter. But, I will keep you all updated on my new blog I hope to start!

Good morning! Last night my girlfriends and I went to the screening of "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" which was written and produced by an associate of mine and it was EXCELLENT! This young lady is already an author with at least 3 books published so I knew the storyline would be good but wasn't sure if they would find actors/actressess who could really make her vision come to life especially since this was her first film and she wasn't working with a huge budget BUT the cast really did a great job. They had a lot of ppl come out and support the film w/a 30 minute "Q & A" session directly following.

I had a great time and I'm really glad I could be there to support her. She and company are currently in discussions with possible distributors and I really hope they can find someone willing to give them a chance in the mainstream.

I met this young lady a few years ago b/c she was the featured author at one of my book club meetings. Since she was a local author she was able to attend the meeting and she had such a great personality. After the meeting we exchanged email addresses and kept in contact periodically. Approximately 6-8 months later she launched her publishing company and invited me to the launch party. I had a good friend who was trying to get her book published so I thought it would be a great idea to bring her so they could meet. Their meeting went great and as a result my friend was able to publish her first novel 2 years ago and is currently working on her second. It's just a wonderful feeling to support people who are really trying to make positive things happen for themselves.

I have not done a workout as of yet but plan on completing CLX - Recharge since it's my designated rest day. I'll post my workout once it's completed.

Dawna: Happy 2 year anniversary and I'm glad you've found someone that makes you happy and who's very supportive. Here's to many more happy years. Congratulations on your work promotions. I too dont mind more work b/c you're right it makes the day fly by.

Good morning and happy Monday all! I hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend. Today is week 3 day 1 of the Chalean Extreme program which means it's a strength training day. I completed Burn Circuit 1. I can't believe that I'm already 3 weeks into this program. I love that the workouts are so short but I'm really struggling w/getting my eating under control on the weekend. I don't know what has happened b/c I use to have such great control over eating sweets and things of that nature but lately it's been getting out of hand.
