    good morning!
Choco, I am definitely with you on the sweets. Lately I've been out of control. But, I am determined to get better! It's always a weakness of mine, and I fear it always will be. Exercise, I can do. Depriving myself of treats, not so much. I find that when I do CLX, I am more hungry! But, I do what Chalene says and eat more good food. I'm excited to start CLX again next week.

This morning I was going to get out of bed to get an early morning workout done, but we had such a busy weekend that I was exhausted!! But, I am planning on getting a quick run in tonight. My parents are coming into town this week and will be in town for the race, so i am excited about that.

    have a great day!

BTW, I think I'm going back to the 10 in 9 group. Its just us anyways, so we might as well :) Sorry, I thought that we'd get more people involved, but no such luck.

    Hey ladies,
Got back from holiday and am all lovely and bronzed

Just been reading up on all your posts, seems like you're all doing great!
While I was away I kept up the running, 30DS and swimming. was interesting having to run in the hills of Italy, tried to find the flattest path I could and went at like 6am to keep the heat down! but it seems to have worked, am now on wk6 of the c25k program and still going strong and am just about to finish level 2 of the 30DS

My parents also bought a wii fit so I've been playing around on that as well which is fun but it told me my wii fit age was 27 :frown: ah well, something to work at I supose

Good morning and happy Tuesday! Today is week 3 day 2 of the Chalean Extreme program which means it's a cardio day. I decided to change it up a little, so instead of completing the Fatbuster dvd like I had been doing I threw in Jillian Michael's Blast Fat/Boost Metabolism. Boy did I forget how this workout makes you sweat. I feel great and am about to enjoy a protein shake.

Lu: Welcome back and i'm glad you enjoyed yourself on vacation. Also, great job w/staying active.

Good morning everyone! Today is week 3 day 3 of the Chalean Extreme program and I completed the Burn Circuit 2 workout. My arms are on fire today from the tricep kickbacks, overhead tricep extensions and 3 level push ups. I must admit I always feel good after a workout no matter how much I despised it in the beginning.

Good morning and happy Thursday! I thought this morning's workout was going to be cancelled because there was a horrible thunderstorm in my area when I woke up and I was fearful the electricity would go out. Despite the roaring skies and pouring rain my electricity stayed intact and I was able to rock out my workout. Today is week 3 day 4 of the Chalean Extreme program and I completed the Burn Intervals dvd.

    Good afternoon!

Well this morning I did a 25min run non-stop (no walking) I know that doesn't sound like much to you experienced runners but I'm so proud of myself I just had to share! I don't think I've run constantly for that long EVER in my life! Not even at school!

This week I have three 25min runs to do (starting tomorrow) so my challenge this week is to get through them all without walking

porterbaby38: I hope you feel better soon :flowerforyou:

Chocolickkyss: you're doing really well! how many weeks is the Chalean Extreme program for?

Happy Sunday all! Today is week 3 day 7 of the Chalean Extreme program which means it's a rest day. I completed 2 miles of the Leslie Sansone Fat Burning dvd while holding 3 lb weights in each hand. I was able to get a nice little burn. Now that the clothes are ironed for the week and the grocery shopping has been done I'm going to chill out the rest of the day. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Good evening ladies. Today was definitely a rough day as it relates to workouts. My alarm clock went off at 5 am as it does every work day and I got up and put on my workout clothes AND as soon as I did I lost all desire to workout. I just could not find the energy or desire to complete my workout.
I told myself I would just count the daily 20 minute power walk I do w/my co-workers as todays exercise AND then I began feeling real guilty about skipping the designated workout so I decided to do it when I got home from work.
Today is week 4 day 1 of the Chalean Extreme program and I completed Burn Circuit 1. I'm glad I decided to push through today and get the workout completed but I'm unsure if I'll be able to do the same tomorrow. I think my lack of desire and sluggish feeling has somethin w/TOM arriving sometime this week.
On top of the sluggish feeling my appetite is all over the place.

Good morning and happy Tuesday! Quick post b/c the work duties are calling. Today is week 4 day 2 of the Chalean Extreme program which means it's a cardio day. I completed the Turbo Jam - Fatbuster.
  • I'd love to be part of this group. So you pick weekly challenges for yourself? On Sunday I decided that this week I was going into a spinning frenzy and do 5 spin classes this week. I did one Monday and the one this morning starts in 3 hours :)

Chocolickkyss: TOM always makes me want to binge and not exercise, just take it easy and motivation is soon to return

inmyshoes: Hi there, wow thats a lot of spinning, good luck, let us know how you get on

As for myself I have totally failed my challenge this week  I'm not sure when it happened (probably running at some point) but I seem to have hurt my knee :grumble: So I'm hoping its just a sprain or a pulled muscle and am going to rest up for a few days with a support on it and see if it improves. If all goes well I should be able to do one more run this week (fingers crossed).

Good morning and happy Wednesday. I have only a few more days before I head to NYC for Labor Day weekend. I'm really hoping Hurricane Earl doesn't put a damper on my trip. This should be my last trip of the summer and 2010 so I really want to have a good time.

Today is week 4 day 3 of the Chalean Extreme program and it was suppose to be a strength training day but I just did not feel like lifting weights today so I threw in the Burn It Off dvd instead plus the warm up from Turbo Jam - Fatblaster.
  • Monday and Tuesday I did spin classes. Three more to go this week! I admit, I'm not really wanting to go this morning. Yesterday there were only 4 people in the class and the instructor seemed kinda confused on the routine. Ah well....

Chocolickkyss: NYC sounds good, somewhere I'd quite like to go at some point in my life (long flight is off putting though). I hope you have a great time!

inmyshoes: Is it the same instructor each time? ah well if theres less people just think its more like a personal fitness 1-2-1 haha
  • hi ladies i'm doing ok.

No, the instructors rotate so you never really know who you are going to get. I didn't actually do spin today but I got in a great workout at the gym - 30min stairclimber, 20min elliptical, 30min weights and then this afternoon I went out for a 5mile run. I'm pooped and ready to EAT some dinner.

Good morning everyone! Today is my Friday since my job will be observing our furlough day tomorrow. It will be another quick post b/c my supervisor announced yesterday that my unit is under a TIGHT deadline. We have exactly 1 month to read over 110 records. I work in Social Services and review state records regarding children who are in the child protective custody. As a result of this deadline I'll be working late and probably coming in a little early.

Today is week 4 day 4 of the Chalean Extreme program which means it's a cardio day. I decided to complete Billy Blanks Cardio Boot Camp instead of Burn Intervals and got an excellent burn.

I've not really felt like lifting this week so I decided to throw in the Burn Intervals dvd instead. While I wasn't 100% due to lackluster energy I did work up a nice sweat.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this message board, but I like your theme! I intend to be fit for life, and I'm working hard at it at the age of 56. I'm a teacher starting school this week. I've started an exercise and diet regime each summer, and pooped out once my workload piled up. So my challenge, for this week, is to exercise a total of 200 minutes per week - 4 sessions of 50 minutes, or 5 sessions of 40 minutes. Wish me luck!

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday. Yesterday my flight was delayed an hour due to what I thought was hurricane Earl but when I arrived in NYC I found out they did not even get a drop of rain. The only thing I can think of was that there must of been strong winds. Anyway, I arrived in New York at about 9 PM. My cousin picked me up and then we returned to house where she and I along w/her husband stayed up to the wee hours of the morning laughing, talking and I can't lie......drinking and eating chips. I had a blast. We've not done anything like that in about 3 years. Today we plan to hit the city in hopes of doing a little sightseeing and then I think we'll try to shake a tailfeather tonight. I going to try to make some healthier choices when it comes to my food but I can already tell it's going to be difficult.

Today is week 4 day 6 of the Chalean Extreme program which means it's a cardio day. Instead of completing that workout I rocked out Core Cardio and Balance from the insanity program. I really like this workout b/c it's a full body get your sweat on workout but the pace and duration are very sustainable and do not bother my knees as much as the other Insanity workouts.
My cousin and her husband are suppose to complete this very workout w/me tomorrow but we'll see if they chicken out....LOL.

Chocolickkyss - Welcome to NYC, my part of the country. It is pretty easy to exercise and eat healthy in New York - lots of parks, great waterfront. Visit Chelsea Piers on the West Side of Manhattan, around West 23rd St. It is basically a huge sports complex. Then you can rent a bike and ride along the Hudson. There are lots of healthy restaurants - Northern Italian, seafood, Greek or Turkish restaurants with lots of grilled meats and salads.

    Have a great time!

I'm taking my bike for a spin around the neighborhood. It is a beautiful sunny day!
  • good morning ladies. i know i haven't been posting lately but i've been busy going for walks and went clothes shopping and just been working out and i'm proud to say the scale is finally showing the numbers. plus the jeans i tried on was a juniors size 9, they fit fine but when i took them home i tried them on and i had to take them back and i had to get size 7's in juniors and the scale showed me this morning 162.2lbs. i'm getting there slowly but surely, thanks friends.

laniv: welcome to this site, there are really nice ladies in the challenge group. if you need help or having a bad day they will be there for you. good luck on your weight loss journey, it's hard but it's worth it.
choco: have fun in NYC and enjoy yourself and enjoy your workout with your cousin and her husband.

Good Evening! So this week has been terrible for me. have been eating WAY too much and not exercising barely at all
    Gained 2lb too:sad:
But tomorrow is a new day and a new start, so time for me to stop feeling guilty and crack on with losing more weight. Gotta blitz these next two weeks because I go back to uni then eeekkk!
So new challenge for moi! Keep under my calorie intake every day this week! Now thats a challenge!!!

porterbaby38: well done!!! i have no idea what size a junior 7 is equivalent to in UK sizing but it sounds small what ever it is

laniv: Hi there, your challenge sounds good. My mum is a teacher and she always finds it hard to fit in time to exercise during term time so good luck

Good afternoon everyone! Today is my last full day in NYC b/c my flight departs first thing in the morning. My family and I went sightseeing yesterday and had a great time. It was a very long day so we pretty much crashed upon our return to the house. This morning we got up and my cousin and her husband decided to try their hands at an Insanity workout. I threw in the Core Cardio and Balance dvd b/c it's the easiest of the series. They gave it a go for about 15 minutes before they both decided I was on my own. I completed the rest of the workout alone. I'm glad they at least gave it a try.

Hi Folks! I woke up this morning and got on the scale, and discovered that I had lost 1.8 pounds this week! That is amazing! At this age, I expect to lose maybe .5 to 1 pound a week.

Lu - I like your attitude. Put last week behind you, and re-commit yourself to a healthy way of eating.

Porterbaby - Junior 7! Amazing. I don't think I've worn that size since junior high!

Chocolickkyss - What is an insanity workout? Sounds like fun!

I made it back to GA safely. Since I worked out w/my family yesterday and it is usually a rest day I decided to use today as my designated rest day. As a result, I kept today's workout very light. Instead of taking the train from my concourse to baggage claim I opted to walk. As I stated in previous posts, Atlanta's airport is really big so to walk from a concourse to baggage claim is about a mile. In addition to walking I was pulling my 20 lb suitcase and carrying a shoulder bag. My back has really been bothering me all weekend so once I get settled I'm going to do some stretching to see if that will help.

Insanity is a a beach body program. You use your own body weight in real intense moves. It's a 2 month long program and very effective. However, there's A LOT of jumping so it can take its toll on your knees.
