I found this file an thought to share it as an experiment or if it was useful for anyone. Its fancy. Im not sure i know how to duplicate this type of work, but i'm sure as a group effort we can come close or better.
Its a weight loss calculator written by an MFP user. You may have already seen it.

I am filling my info in. I am huge compared to y'all. Oh well. I'm here working on it and I guess that's all that matters.
Well, let's not compare to closely. I'm writhing with guilt of not going to the gym after seeing others measurements. I'm hoping we can use this in a way to track progress. Maybe add a line below our original measurements as they change?
Last thing we want to do is create anxiety, guilt or make someone uncomfortable with the table. I see some folks out running that are heavy, and they kick my *kitten*. We are genetically different- embrace it!
I was looking to add some well know names for reference, but have yet to find a lot on runners. I'll keep looking.

Same here! I am a person who tends to have a narrow waist and sturdy legs, the same way I am extra-flexible but not very coordinated. It's not like I did anything special to get any of those things; that's just the way my body is put together.

Hi all!
I love running and my little pup loves to go with me. I'm on a weight loss journey and came to find running as my fav workout. Especially in summer, instead of being couped up in some stinky gym for an hour, I can mix up my daily running routes and try to tire out my extremely hyper dog
Since Aug 1, I am up to almost 34miles! My goal is to average 5 miles a day, and I do not run every day either.
Keep up those miles!
*BTW, I use the TomTom sports watch for tracking gps and miles.10 -

Same, but these are our before/during; we're striving for our after numbers.
I added mine as best I could. I will need to check them all again as I realized at the end that I was reading the cm lines wrong lol.
I added mine too. I think it is important that we also keep in mind that some of us have reached our weight goals and some are still working on them and that our goals will all be different. It would be a boring chart if all the measurements were the same.2 -

Did my three miles this morning. :-) This brings my total to 19 miles this month.
Track thoughts:
I'm thankful for new pony tail holders that stay in place.
I'm thankful that the rain held off during my run. I woulda splashed thru, but dry is better.
Decided to be more positive by calling Mt. Misery and Pain's Peak new names. Mt. Momentum and Power Peak?
I've got to find some hills to run up for practice. I hear there's a 'significant' hill on the HM course. Sigh.
It feels strange to call 3 miles a "short" run!

@skippygirlsmom I'm glad I didn't see a coyote yesterday. The jack rabbit was pretty cool. I'm glad there was no one chasing him. Although I think he thought I was chasing him.

Yeah, it is funny now when I say "just going for a short easy run" and I mean 6-8 miles. It is a strange world we distance runners have moved into...

8/01 - 2.9 - Short Hill Intervals w/ WU/CD
8/02 - 3.0 - 8.51M/M, 147 AHR
8/03 - 4.0 - 9.35 M/M, 143 AHR
8/05 - 3.1 - 7:45 M/M, 148 AHR - 5K PR 24:02
8/06 - 7.8 - 9:57 M/M, 145 AHR (supposed to be 7mi but route left me a mile+ away from home)
8/08 - 4.0 - 9:43 M/M, 145 AHR (oops, thought today was long hill intervals, but was supposed to be regular intervals... so I did regular intervals uphill...smh...)

I'll have to check out the spreadsheet but I haven't weighed or measured myself in over a year and don't have a clue what my stats are.
Anyway, brutal run last night 7.8 miles. It was after work, around 85 (not used to running in the heat), and I had run the previous day. Anyway, I hadn't eaten much and then I really overdid it. Ended up with net calories of around 600 for the day, which is not cool. I couldn't eat once I got home, though, because I can't eat right after running so I just went to bed. So, today I'm more sore than usual and need to take a couple days off. It's just been a hard couple of weeks with the running.
August totals: 23.64 / 758 -
8/1 = 4.5 miles
8/2 = kettlebell strength training
8/3 = 7.5 miles (six - 6 minute speed intervals)
8/4 = 3.5 miles (track workout- 800m sprints & 200m recovery walk)
8/5 = 4.5 miles
8/6 = 15 miles
8/7 = 3 miles on the dreadmill & strength training 45 minutes
8/8 = 8 miles and a Vinyasa yoga class
The rain yesterday turned the weather into a hot soupy mess. Despite this, running almost felt effortless this morning. I love when that happens. I ran 5 of the 8 miles at a 9:30-9:50 pace. This is super fast for me. Maybe all the speed/track workouts are starting to slowly have some kind of effect.

Slept in yesterday and used it as a rest day. This morning mother nature gifts me a 61 degree morning as I started out at sunrise. That is a the equivalent to a albino unicorn to occur for August in Kansas. After only a couple of weeks of getting back into things I'm starting to see the HR stay lower for the majority of the run and pace slowly tick faster. It's been tough sticking to all easy running but I know it will pay dividends soon.8 -
I managed to catch up on reading all y'all posts and I managed a run - yay!
We have an air advisory here due to wildfires in our province. The mountains aren't visible, it's hot out and smells like a campfire, and the sun is a red ball in the sky. It has lasted for almost two weeks already, but with no end forecast, I figured I better try to do at least an easy run. No asthma symptoms yet, so maybe I can get back on schedule.
I started week five of Strong Curves, and I'm noticing an improvement in my running despite not running much. I really like the strength training. I hope I can stick with it.

I live in a real neighborhood development so I was surprised to see him though coyotes themselves are not unusual around us.
I kinda live on the outskirts of town in a new housing development. Every morning I get out before sunrise you can hear them in some of the grass fields just to the east of us. Like you, I only see them every now and again but they always startle me when they dart out between the tree lines.

@skippygirlsmom your coyote reminded me. When I was driving back to the main road after my run, I saw a fox just sitting on the side of the road watching the traffic go by.4

Question for the ladies on the measurement chart . . . when you measure waist, do you measure at the naval or at the smallest point? I saw on that other spreadsheet @Elise4270 linked to, it requested the minimum measurement. Mine are quite different . . . hmmm . . . I'd love to start using the smaller number.0

I find it fascinating as well... It made me pull out my old tracking books (when I started my weight loss journey 7 years ago I tracked my workouts and weekly measurements in notebooks I kept in the bathroom with my tape measure). It is interesting that when I was at the same weight I am now, my measurements were almost exactly the same, except for my calves (1/2 inch bigger) and thighs (1 inch smaller). I am also not as interested in the weight number, although it is important and I certainly want to get back to my goal weight, I am much more interested in lowering my body fat percentage which will also result in my weight coming down some. I just need to figure out how exactly to do that. I see the nutritionist again tomorrow for another measurement and will be asking that question.3 -

I was told the smallest part of your waist is your waist..... But, for me that ends up being bra line!!! I tend to grab an inch or so above naval. I think being consistent is the key so you know where you are comparing.2
