@sarahthes way to get out there and get it done! Alberta is rocking the A1 weather this week

@RespectTheKitty I'm sorry about the anxiety attack but I'm glad the miles made it better. Good weather for everyone it seems!

Wanted to get in at least 25 tonight but the baby is being a clinger lately (turning 2 maybe? idk) so I only managed to log 19 before I got summoned back to the house to console her afer she was chided for her misdeeds. She managed to sneak around long enough to ditch her clothes and her diaper, gather all the cardboard craft tubes and play with them in the toilet for quite a while unnoticed under daddy's watch. Needless to say my alarm is set for 3:30 :D

So non-running note... while I am off on vacation my books carry on and kind of ummm hit #4 over all on Amazon’s Best Seller’s List yesterday. :) Kind of fun, eh?

That's awesome! Go ahead and tell us which book is yours! For all you know, some of use have read it ;)

Thanks! It was mentioned earlier in this thread... or was it last month? I have a bunch a books out. The one that hit the charts is : Enemy of an Enemy ( http://amzn.to/2vbU9jv ) (it is at number 15 as I write this, but probably will slowly continue to sink)

@BruinsGal_91 it doesn't count as full disclosure if you don't tell us which one and send me a check
    @skippygirlsmom $10.00 cdn = $7.90 us. 2 infractions, and it wasn't profanity close to a Church/School.
Hydration belt / Bottle doesn't come out unless I am doing 15k or more. Even 15k on a cool day is no biggy.
At the same time I must acknowledge anyone who uses the belt to carry Medicine ( Asthma, diabetes etc or your Cell Phone for emergency ) get a pass fine = $0.00.

@JessicaMcB That is a great shirt, especially that it came from your PT, and yes you definitely beat me when it comes to white. But I do have a very modest Sandal Tan line, not sure how it's possible to get a sandal tan line and still have white legs

6 km tonight between rain showers. I was planning on hitting 2 loops on Misery Mtn for 10-15k, but with the multiple Rain showers ( absolute downpour ) we have had today it would have been a very unpleasant Mud-Fest. So hit the River Bank Trails with some new shoes and just couldn't get into the run. Have to blame the shoes as they are new to me and only have 4mm drop when I usually have 6-8mm drop. They just didn't feel right, might need some inserts or just a few more short runs slowly building distance to get a better feel for them.
Just haven't been getting out hitting the Trails like I wanted to this month. 55.5km and 6 days left in the month but only 4 running days due to Family commitments. Need a few 15/20km days to make goal.

    08/01 0.0 km – 150.0 km - 0.0 km – YTD 862.57 km
    08/01 7.5 km – 142.5 km - 7.5 km – YTD 870.07 km High Level real Estate run
    08/03 14.0 km – 128.5 km - 21.5 km – YTD 884.07 km Judah Hill Climb
    08/05 12.0 km – 116.5 km - 33.5 km – YTD 896.07 km Peavey loop + Misery mtn
    08/12 20.0 km – 96.5 km - 53.5 km – YTD 916.07 km Emperor's Challenge
    08/16 6.0 km – 90.5 km - 59.5 km – YTD 922.07 km 12 Ft Davis Hill Climb
    08/17 10.0 km – 80.5 km - 69.5 km – YTD 932.07 km River Bank Trails
    08/19 11.0 km – 69.5 km - 80.5 km – YTD 943.07 km Shortened Reverse Peavey Loop
    08/23 8.0 km – 61.5 km - 88.5 km – YTD 951.07 km Pats Creek with the club

ha ha my friend just posted this on facebook - sorry it's so big when I tried to make it smaller it was too hard to read the letter.

I get really mad about #4, they should add a few zero's to that fine!
When I come across discarded gel packages in nature, I usually pick them up. But they are almost always really gross, sticky on the outside, getting sticky stuff on my hands, so disgusting! I usually spend the rest of the way imagining the horrible things I would like to do to the idiot who discarded them - so you can figure out a way to transport your gels when they are full, but can't figure out what to do when they are empty?
Loosing one by accident is obviously a different story, but when I find three in a row at 2km-intervals it doesn't look like a single mishap anymore...

I might have been guilty of #9 once. But when it's almost 30°C outside and you run to the race start and back home afterwards for a total of 14km that day, that counts as mitigating circumstances, right? o:)

    ---

Completely different question: has anybody ever tried running with wrist weights?
I started to do a bit of indoor climbing recently and was reminded that my upper-body-strength is pretty non-existent :| . So I picked up a cheap pair of 0,5kg bracelets and though I could wear them once or twice per week during runs. I know going to a gym and lifting real weights would be more effective, but since I'm running anyway, I though every little helps...
Now I belatedly found out that a lot of websites advise against it because it supposedly messes up your running form. Of course I don't want to do that, but on the other hand, lots of people run with hand-held water bottles, and I've never seen any claims that that would mess up your form...?

8/1 - Rest/sick day - feeling better, but not sure running would have been good. Hoping for tomorrow.
8/2 - 4.5 miles of hill repeats. Glad I did it, more glad I'm done.
8/3 - 3.5 short miles before getting in the car with the family.
    8/4 - Road trip / vacation
    8/5 - Road trip / vacation / anniversary
    8/6 - 5 miles. Gorgeous morning for a run!
    8/7 - 5 miles. Again, beautiful morning!
    8/8 - 5 miles. Another nice morning!
8/9 - 4.6 miles of hill repeats with group. I am soooo tired and sleepy today.
    8/10 - 4.4 treadmill miles / trek class. Then upper body weights/abs.
8/11 - Rest day because I have to.
8/12 - 6.6 mile group run. Perfect weather.
8/13 - 2.3 treadmill miles. Then quick upper body weights.
    8/14 - 5.3 miles track / intervals.
8/15 - 5 miles. Another relatively cool, delightful morning to run.
8/16 - 4.85 miles of group hill run. Rough, but good.
8/17 - Rest day. If I run more than 5 days in a row, bad things tend to happen.
8/18 - 5 miles. Gorgeous morning to run.
    8/19 - 7.75 mile group run.
    8/20 - Unplanned rest day.
    8/21 - 5 miles of treadmill "intervals"...ugh
    8/22 - 5 miles.
8/23 - 4.9 miles of group hill run.
8/24 - 3.5 slowish miles. Had to cut it short since I overslept a bit.
    8/25 - Rest day.

Y'all ever have non-runners casually mentioned that they can run say an 8 minute mile? Or bike 20 miles daily if they wanted to? Just how far do you think a mile is with your sedentary life style, 60 pounds overweight?

I sure hope they can't... I'm fighting a loosing battle if others can start at my goal!

    Is it Friday yet?

    All the time!!

Also, if you're "fluffy", I gotta be squishy or something more than that. Ugh.

To be fair, some of them might actually be telling the truth. Running ability is a strange thing. That said, what they don't tell you is that they can run an 8 minute mile for exactly one mile and then have to remain in traction for months afterwards!

I can run 5:25 mile... For 0.15 miles

@_nikkiwolf_ Haha, that'd be my luck, to call him out on it and get bested!

@karllundy I work with guys that get zero exercise. I've learned not to touch their arms, just pudding. I doubt you are squishy. You can be fluffy with me.

@skippygirlsmom That's exactly how I felt this morning! I love late summer / fall weather :) Glad you had a fantastic run

@PastorVincent I looked up your book and I will definitely read it, as soon as I finish "We have no idea". I am milking this one, since it is so awesome and just hysterical at times. Also, you are a nerd with Math CS degrees? Me too! Well, almost - I have a degree in math, but just a minor in CS. It is nice to meet another geek-runner fellow ;)

Another beautiful morning for a semi-long run - 8 easy miles. And yes, @Elise4270 , it is Friday, woohoo!
