The app says I've averaged right around 1400 calories the last two weeks, but no loss. I am meticulous in weighing and logging. Maintenance for me should be around 1700 or more. Stay the course... Maybe I'll go down to 1300 calories.
9/19
I hear your frustration. Are you sure everything is being measured and counted right? Are you weighing everything? For example, did you really weigh out 40 grams of avocado for your seitan sandwich? Was the cheddar cheese slice really exactly 1 ounce (28 grams)?
I'm asking because I've found that weight the exact grams of things, especially calorie dense things, really helps me make a better estimate of how many calories I'm eating. I see a lot of 1 ounce and other standard measures in your diary. If you look at my breakfasts for the last couple days, you'll see that today I had .86 of an ounce of cheese in my eggs and yesterday I had 1.1 ounces. I used the scale to weigh the chunk of cheese I hacked off and divided the number of grams by 28 to get a more exact measure. I used the scale to weigh exactly 15 grams of cream into the eggs to make sure I wasn't over pouring. I'm less exact measuring things like low cal fresh veggies. I'll eyeball parsley, for example.
Of course, another factor could just be hormonal cycles hiding any weight loss. Two weeks is not a long time when the normal female cycle is twice that.
Best wishes to you. We're all here in the same boat bailing as fast a we can! wink.
Yes! I slice the cheese very thin and weigh to exactly 1 oz. for my sandwiches, adding little slivers to get my precious ounce. The avocado is sometimes based on what half of the same size avocado weighed the day before. Admittedly, I have an analog scale, not digital so that's why you don't see fractions.
I eat a salad bar buffet once a week so that's got estimates, like I don't actually measure the romaine BUT I don't add croutons, creamy dressing, etc. I don't worry about whether I'm right about exact grams of tomato, cucumber, etc. So you've got a good point about accurate measuring.
My daily goal is 1500 calories, which should give me a fairly modest but steady loss. I try to eat 1300-1400 instead to compensate for any errors in measuring. I don't eat ANYTHING that doesn't get logged.
Thanks for taking the time to give feedback, I was cruising along losing .5 lbs every 3-5 days for a month before this and I think this is an adjustment period. I donated blood and had TOM in the last 2 weeks so my body has had stuff to deal with.
One thing I feel pretty good about: I had a Dr appt today and though the scale there showed a few lbs more than my home scale (fully dressed at dr), it was 15 pounds lighter than my appt a year ago, so at least there's tangible progress, even if slow.6 -

R16 goal - Post op/recovery - Try not to go above 142.

9/12 - 193.8 Yesterday I was a good girl and it's paying off!!! Today I will try to do even better! (Less cheese and less sugar)
9/13 - 193.0 This morning it flashed 192.8 before stopping stubbornly at 193. But that's ok. I'm being a very good girl. It will drop again, I'm sure of it.
9/14 - 191.8!!! (I got on 5x! It's the real number)
9/15 - 192.2 I figured that yesterday was too much of a drop.
9/16 - 190.8!!! 0.2 to go before I hit 10 lbs!!! Loving these whooshes!!!
9/17 - No Scale
9/18 - 193.0 - This is expected. I went over calories for 2 days in a row.
9/19 - 193.2 I don't understand this crazy up and down roller coaster ride I'm on. I was so happy to see the low 90's for 3 days in a row and then boom. Back up again. What the heck?? I though yesterday's was a bit of bloating be sure I was over on my calories a little bit but I guess not. I was really hoping to be back down today so that I could say I'd lost SOMETHING this round. Oh well. I guess maintaining a loss while on vacation in France is pretty good too. (In the past I DEFINITELY would have gained and not even been on this app while on vacation... so it's nice to see how far I've come!) This is my 2nd round at the same weight.

Back in for another 10 days!A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:Round 15: (Target: 162) Highest, 163.8; lowest, 161; Mean, 161.8 It's slow, but I am very happy with the downward trend.
- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.

17/9/2017: 161.2 Goals ✅ Been bouncing around here for most of the round. Something's gotta give soon.
18/9/2017: 160.2 Goals ✅ Yay! Hope this sticks for tomorrow's weigh in.
19/9/2017: 160.8 Goals ✅ Not what I wanted to see, but getting there.
A birthday in the middle of this round meant a bounce up which had to be worked off. However, Celebrations merely delay the achievement of weight loss. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It took many years to put on the weight I gained, but it is coming off, bit by stubborn bit. The game continues! I have the power and determination to do this.
Don't worry!

My second round.
Still about 2.5kg over my maintenance weight, I really let it slip over the last couple of month, so here goes...
I don't usually weigh daily (or weekly even) but for now it helps me keep focus.
Good luck everyone

9/10: 64.3kg - 0.3kg down from yesterday, so happy with that. Weekends aren't easy though!

Day/Weight/Comment
9/10 257.0 I have a real issue with water retention and if I eat salty food I blow up like a balloon, and ya that's where I'm at today. So it's time to do some apple cider vinegar and juicing today and get rid of some fluids. My goal this 10 days is to get off the water wt. and get to my true wt which is probably 3-5 lbs less than this. Good luck everyone.
9/11 256.3 Did about 9000 steps yesterday, eating was ok, plan to go very light today.
9/12 256.0 Heading in the right direction. 9000 steps yesterday and ate healthy.
9/13 255.5 Revised from original post, think scale gave a bad reading.
9/14 255.1 Kinda bummed had hoped to move the needle more, i did 8500 steps and had only about 1600 cals.
9/15 253.7 I have really watched my eating this week, getting about 8500 steps per day. This is what works for me if I will stick to it. Carbs are my downfall, if I cut way back on them the wt comes off and vise versa. Feeling good.
9/16 255.3 blah
9/17 255.3 boo hiss
9/18 256.3 I am looking to the next round to right the ship and I know that I am off track at the moment.

9/14 156.8 not bad considering I was out for dinner last night
9/15 155.8 surprised to see this after a long long work day without exercise. Now onto the weekend!
9/16 156.8 up and down we go.... but over all down. It's always been that way and I've learned to not freak out when it goes up because I know if I keep up good habits it will overall go down. Happy Saturday!
9/17 156.4 - kinda surprised. Not doing great staying on plan this weekend. Duh is gone and it's ttotm too.....
9/18 156 - like to keep it here for end of round.
9/19 156.8 - well not where I wanted to end this round but considering I went to the Olive Garden last night and it's ttotm I'll take it. Sigh.7 -
This is my first round! I've been lurking for a couple of rounds but I decided it was finally time to join. Trying not to lose too quickly because I find I tend to go off the rails if I lose too quickly.

9/16 143.8 this a fluke I'm sure.

09/9 - 197 - still eating lower cals and drinking 10 L water a week, still in a lot of pain with (what I think is sciatica) docs appointment is set for Thursday 14th at 4:15 so i am hoping for answers then!! I had a Long 70 min walk in the west end to get some exercise .. then a quick 15 min walk myself to check out my walking pace and later 15 mins of marching on the spot, it seems to give my leg some relief. hot water bottle and sitting for the rest of the time!
10/9 -197 - 3rd day at 197! so a bounce or a drop ... ooo the suspense
11/9 -198 - and its a bounce! .. still patiently waiting on a drop!
12/9 -196.6 - The pains in my leg were terrible today, I was almost pain free on the 11th as well.
13/9 -196.6 - 1 1/2 mile walk, leg feeling much better
14/9 -196.6 - If past months are anything to go by (just less than 2 weeks till TOM arrives) I should lose a little weight over the next week (be at my lowest on the 19th) the make a small jump back up to this number (or above) then it should slowly drop off again back to here over the following week -(its happened like this over the last 3 months) - Lets see then, body is this a real pattern or am I just hopeful!!!
15/9 -196.6 - I've been to the doctor and I have sciatica, I've been referred for physio (12-16 week wait for an appointment) and told walking and recommended sciatic exercise only. Forgot to drink my water, calories very low.
16/9 -196.6 - 5th day at the same number, c'mon body .. let go of it!
17/9 -195.4 - I fully expect a bounce in the next few days but for the moment YASSSSSS!!!!!
18/9 -195.4 - Rest day, sciatic pain is giving me no peace, and the recommended exercises seem to irritate the nerve
19/9 -195.4 - HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY - 3 days at under 14 stone.

ROUND 16 - My Round 3
I ended last round 0.1 above where I started, having to navigate the first week of school, inservice, Labor Day, and 2 celebrations for mom's birthday. So here is how we are starting:
SW 162
Round 16 goal: anywhere 159.9 or below
9/10 162 - was out to eat yesterday and did in fact go down a few ounces. No official workout yesterday due to getting my FIL checked into a care facility and dealing with all of that. Losing weight while dealing with adult responsibilities is hard. Got up today and got in 50 mins of Zumba at home before starting the day.
9/11 162.8 - WHAT?? I worked out yesterday and had a pretty big deficit at the end of the day - WHAT??
9/12 162.6 ugh. Was hoping for better.
9/13 161.8 better - cut down on the snacks at work (the kiddos I work with have a reward box - sometimes it's hard to avoid the rewards myself!) and cut down on the food after dinner. Hoping to continue this trend.
9/14 161.7 - the correct direction right?? Even though it's 0.1??
9/15 161.7 - lots of steps again but snacking at work - tracking the snacking as well as I can...
9/16 161.5 - better - right direction - even though I can't keep it together during the day at work - been trying to snack on goldfish crackers instead of m&m's though...maybe I'll get some bite size things to keep around my desk to grab instead this week...we will see. Already got in 65 minutes of Leslie Sansone miracle miles today so that's a plus
9/17 162.0 - one day out to eat and gained back what I lost despite having a big deficit at the end of the day. Going to work out this morning and mark it on my to do list to work out this week as well. Trying to stay focused.
9/18 161.7 - better - at least it's below where I started but still - not as good as I wanted this round. I need to keep my exercise more consistent. I'm thinking of paying myself $1 for each workout I do and buying myself a present at the end of every month - something to keep me focused in that way.
9/19 161.5 - ended this round 0.5 less than I started which is at least a move in the right direction. Hopeful for the next 10 days but nervous about food because my birthday is this weekend. Going to try to do activity EVERY DAY but Fridays.7 -
Hi all. This is my first round and I am a little apprehensive as I normally weigh myself on a weekly basis. Have never done daily as was not sure how I would react to the fluctuations on a daily basis. I do realise this could be a positive and keep me on track. I was aiming to join you in round 15 but I chickened out but I am here now due to some encouragement from my MFP buddy (you know who are you - thank you). Looking forward to getting to know all of you.
Day/Weight/Comment
9/10 - 133.8 - 1lb up from when I weighed myself a few days ago. I can't complain as I ate some naughty snacks over the weekend. It could have a been a lot worse. Here's hoping I don't pay the price tomorrow!
9/11 -135.8 - up 2lbs more.
9/12 - 136.4 - oh my up again! Is my weight going to keep going up now I am weighing daily instead of weekly? I am not going to let it freak me out. At least it will stop me snacking tonight. Good thing it's my IF day tomorrow. That will put me back on track!
9/13 - 134.2 - had a good day - got lots of exercise in, drank water and had a successful IF day with 450 calories! Has made a difference not only to the numbers on the scale but also my state of mind.
9/14 - 132.8 - yay, so happy to see that figure going down. It sure does pay off to push a bit harder with my exercises. Plus I have had to do extra minutes on the bike for eating some chips! Win win I suppose!! Lol!
9/15 - 131.6 - that's what I like to see - the numbers going in the right direction. Think I got rid of a lot of water retention. Was feeling really tired this morning as not slept much all week but decided to still push with my exercise. So glad I did.
9/16 - 131.6 - happy to stay the same as had a few candies but stayed within my calories.
9/17 - 131.6 - have managed to have two nights good sleep for a change and I feel so much better for it. Had a good workout today.
9/18 - 130.2 - sleep, longer workouts, water intake and staying within my daily calories is paying off.
9/19 - 130.0 - very happy with that. I didn't have a goal weight when I started this particular challenge as I wasn't sure how I was going to get on with weighing myself everyday.
Hope everyone is happy with all their efforts.8 -

Day/Weight/Comment
9/10 256.8 -- Same as yesterday. This is the low from last round. Let’s see if we can make it the high for this round!
9/11 258.2 --Bah humbug!! Blew through sodium and calorie deficit with late night snacking. Don’t snack off diary! Go to bed, Heidi! You’re not really hungry!!
9/12 257.2 -- I must have been self-medicating with food all my life. I started to feel the barometric pressure changes yesterday afternoon as Irma blew through and my immediate response was a big snack attack and then a nap. Very interesting. Stayed within calories by having a very low cal supper.
9/13 259.4 -- Gack!!! Let’s see … take-out Chinese, late night snacking … that’ll do it!
9/14 259.2 -- I’m having difficulty getting back to the new normal. I’m falling back into old habits. I must nip this in the bud. I need to take back control. I will start this morning. I know I can do this.
9/15 258.2 -- Stayed within limits yesterday. My sole goal right now is just to do that for the rest of the challenge. CICO
9/16 257.4 --Another day of CICO doing exactly as it ought. Maybe the first day won’t be the lowest day of this challenge after all!
9/17 257.4 -- Stayed within calorie limits. Off to deliver pet food for rural Meals-on-Wheels clients today. So a nice drive “in the country.” Need to plan a simple supper so we won’t be tempted by take-out when we get home!
9/18 256.8 -- Nice to see that again!! What a roller coaster ride this has been. A lot learned, though.
9/19 256.8 -- ending the challenge where I had begun but that still represents a drop for the middle-of-the-range this challenge.

10/9 - 227.8
11/9 - 227.8
12/9 - 230 Sabotage comes in all forms - grilled lamb with garlic herb potatoes and mayo. Was it worth it? Flavour - yes. Repercussions - no. Salt may be the effect but complacency is the cause. Note to self - if you want to be under 200 by Christmas this is not the way. Time to do the work.
13/9 - 230.4 my belt went in by a notch yesterday and the scale does this. Well I've 6 days for a turn around eating and exercise. Less salt. Definitely smoothie after 6. No more "questionable" meals.
14/9 - 229.8
15/9 - 229.8 appetite back in check. So let's see how it goes.
16/9 - 227.8 very low salt. Today's goals - stay active.
17/9 - 226.2 yesterday I went shopping. Spent close to 3 hrs walking around. Retail therapy works.
18/9 - 225.8 just because it said 225- something. Now if only I would get my lazy butt up and exercise regularly. Years ago when i was young (in my 40's then ) I had so much energy. I exercised one hour twice a day. I got burnt out a year later and since then... sigh. I know I have to get some routine going. Ok Mr bike, you and I have a date tomorrow morning at 5.
19/9 - 224.2 I don't know how or why but today I say YES YES YES!!!!!!! Unfortunately I didn't get on the bike because rain is falling and my pillow just didn't want me to leave. Best sleep I've had in a long long time. Have a good day all. I know I will8 -

9/12: 238.8 (I know this is mostly water weight (due to binge episode and pms) but whoa that's a big creep up. Yesterday was another bad day for me. I can't get out of this relapse phase. I am going to try to push through it though. 229 would be great to see at the end of the month)
9/13: 238.6 (The bad news is this 3lb gain...the good news is my period came on this morning so I think I know why I haven't been getting it together and hoping at least 1.5-2lbs will go away by Sunday if I really push pass the cravings)

9/10 - 159 - I could deal with this steady 2-4 oz loss per day. I wish it were always linear because it's super motivating, but I know it will plateau and fluctuate soon enough. Dear body, I trust you. Love, me.
9/11 - 159.4 - and there's the bounce...no worries though. Trainer coming over this morning so getting back on track with exercise which has been pretty paltry lately.
9/12 - 158.4 - Dear body, I knew I could trust you. I give you permission to let go of another .5 lbs over the next week so we can hit goal. No hurry, take your time. You can do it! Love, me.
9/13 - 159 - boioioioioing...under calories and a little exercise, but a lot of sodium yesterday so not at all surprising. Onward and upward....errr downward!!!
9/14 - 158.6 - 38 min elliptical and a smidge under calories.
9/15 - 159 - I went to bed hungry to stay at calories and I wake up to this...stupid scale.
9/16 - 159.8 - Gaaaak - I knew it. Went to an awards dinner last night and went over calories. Chose a salad and salmon, but the dressing, sauces and bread and butter got me.
9/17 - 158.6 - Worked hard yesterday and it payed off. My scale did this to me this morning though...163.8...wait for it....ERROR...it almost went through the window.
9/18 - 158.4 - Exercise and under calories yesterday. Dear body...let it go...half a pound...you can do it!!
9/19 - 158.4 - I'll take it...on to the next round.13
