Second run of the day, but this time the sixteen year old didn't want to join me. My six year old did, but given the walking he was doing today, I said he could run around the block with me, which he was really happy to do. That was my warm-up, lol...and boy is he chatty when he's running!

So once I'd dropped him back off at home, it was time to put in some nice easy miles...four this time. Along the way, a kid asked if I would high-five him, so I stuck out my hand and we high-fived as I went by. He called out thank you, and said I was his hero, so I raised both arms and let out a loud WOO-HOO before carrying on.

Other than that, it was a nice easy run, but keeping the heart rate down was a challenge given the caffeine I've consumed today.

    02 - 5.26
    03 - 4.06
    04 - 4.07
    06 - 2.80
    07 - 2.01
    08 - 26.21
    11 - 2.06
    14 - 6.89

    Total: 49.36 / 100 miles

The last time I passed some kids (waiting for the school bus) they shouted run, Forest, run! That movie came out wayyyy before their time!

    44.4/70 miles

I am over half way to my October goal! I think I didn't count my two Saturday 5k's when I figured out how much I would run this month.

It was a beautiful day for a run. It was a little windy, but I really couldn't have asked for better weather. Then when I got home my husband had some steaks out on the grill so I didn't have to cook today! Life is good!

@honunoi I'm so glad everything went well. Sounds like a huge success.

@skippygirlsmom Glad the college visit was good. This is such a fun time. I bet y'all both needed a good trip after the disastrous meet last week. My kid's senior years were when I really understood the meaning of "bittersweet". I know you are enjoying this time.

@pastorvincent I hate it when technology doesn't work the way it is supposed to.

    Upcoming Races:
    10/7/17: Old Rip 5K ✔ PR: 30:46; 1st in AG
    10/14/17: Aim at Melanoma 5K (virtual)✔

    @sarahthes cool color!
@kgirlhart you are so right. I was sitting at the football game and I started to cry not because I'm sad but because I'm excited for her and this next step in her life. I'll miss her so much if she's so away to college, it's been just the 2 of us her whole life.

Today was shoulders & triceps for me. I swear I am regressing instead of improving on this body part. Hoping to get out tomorrow to hike & find fall colors. I'm having a small, minor, nothing procedure in the morning so no lifting for a few days.
