    Just finished Desperation in Death by JD Robb, which was pretty good, despite being totally predictable (it IS, like, book 50 in a police procedural series, we all know what will happen: bad kitten will go down, kitten-kicking police Leiutenant will find the bad guys with the help of her cute side kick and sexy-reformed-criminal-multi-bizillionaire, rescue some victims, crack some skulls). Still a decent read as the characters are amusing, even if the plots and general byplay are totally expected.

    Favorite line: "Not today, Satan."

    I read a lot on my phone - just wrapped up The Drowned World; currently reading Heart Of Darkness. Also listening to the Federalist Papers and the Anti-Federalist Papers on Spotify. The stack of dead tree editions is in a constant state of flux, at the moment there's a few recent issues of Recoil, Concealment and OffGrid that I haven't finished skimming through, and some books about the war for independence, bios of founding fathers and some stuff about the constitution. Unfortunately, keeping up with work and such doesn't leave me as much time as I'd like for reading.

    Finished “Stay Close” by Harlan Coben. One of those rare occasions where the movie (or in this case the Netflix show) is better.

    Planning to start “Hearts in Atlantis” by Stephen King tonight.

    Not a book but I'm reading the Federalist Papers and the book 'The Screwtape Letters'; just finished 'Debt, the First 5,000 Years' and 'The Disuniting of America'; I don't have time for non-fiction - I get that from TV.
