I find myself lately snacking too much especially at night. Looking for some help to change that. I would like to be able to post something here when I want a snack and maybe someone out there can help talk me out of eating it LOL good luck to all.

It's easier to not snack if you have satisfying meals. But there's nothing wrong with snacking if you prefer that. As long as you aren't exceeding your calorie target, don't change just to change.37

I hear you about night time snacking.
There's a thread that supports each other to say NO to late night snacking. It helps some people to have to report in a snack, or a win of no snacking.
I'm trying to be a bit less restrictive during the day, so I'll be less likely to snack at night.
I also try to eat an apple for my night snack: lots of crunching and they're sweet.
Let's help each other!

Ok left over pizza on oven trying hard not to eat it . So far so good18

Just walk on by Bud. Maybe call someone on the phone, email a friend or go outside for a few minutes. That usually works for me. Pizza gets me too; I think it’s the smell,9

If it fits the calories maybe have a little piece ? If not, throw it out. Especially if you don't think you have the willpower to save it for when you do have the cals.
I know it's tough but remember why you're here.
Commit to not over snacking for just tonight.17 -

You need to focus. You can't rely on willpower or other people to resist something highly desirable right in front of you. Prepare and eat balanced and nutritious meals you like, and don't tempt yourself by bringing in food you didn't intend to eat. Watching TV is often done in connection with mindless eating. Do something that takes some effort instead. It doesn't have to be exercise, any hobby will do.21

When I feel 'snacky' I ask myself "will I eat an apple right now?" Or "will I eat a yogurt right now?" or insert whatever 'healthier' food choice. If I say no, it's likely just cravings, boredom munchies or some type of emotional urge to eat.
If I do go get something, I have to be very careful and mindful. 1 single serve package, 1 mini or small serving size. Too many times when I did go to buy something I went off the rails and bought a crapload of food. So even trying to go buy just 1 thing is tricky at times.24 -
Sometimes one is not enough lol .I will give it a try5

It’s hard to not snack when I see temptation around, I have to remind myself that I am not hungry and it’s just all in my head. If it’s too bad I try to eat something healthy like a banana or make myself a cup of tea.
Hide the foods that are tempting and conveniently leave out healthy foods infront of you to help when you need something.7 -

I've given up snacking entirely, it's easier for me to abstain than moderate, so now it's three meals a day only. I also listen to a hypno meditation audio daily to help reinforce this behavior.6

Few things I do to minimize the damage of night time snacking:
Brush my teeth early, the mint in your mouth help reduce craving, also to lazy to brush teeth again
Have low calorie snack prepackaged ready on hand, so when I did really want a snack it won't be over my budget
Freeze the temptation like left over pizza, I feel bad throw out food and left them in the fridge is tempting, so divide these to small servings and freeze.11 -
Thanks for all the great ideas.going to bed now had 2 Triscuits not do bad.lol2

There's nothing wrong with snacking as long as you're not going over on your calories. If you want a snack and you have 200 calories left, have a little snack. I ALWAYS save calories for a night snack because I know every night around 8 or so I'm craving something sweet. But if you feel like you wouldn't be able to stop after a little than maybe abstain from night time snacking all together, everyone's different, use your best judgement. Good luck!0
