Keep “swimming” as a metaphor to keep trying. I haven’t been to my aqua aerobics since 6 Nov due to surgery. Hope to get back in 2019!

Good work will get you to Goal.

Last January I started MFP. I lost 33 lbs by the end of the summer but have regained almost half in the last two months! I am incredibly fed up with myself and it has to stop.

Last year I bought a dress 3 sizes too small and set my sights on wearing it for my nieces wedding. It fit but was a bit snug so I bought a different dress for the wedding..one I actually liked better. I felt really great in it. This weekend I saw the wedding photos and really was not happy with the few photos that I allowed to be taken of me.

I have avoided photos for years because I cannot stand seeing myself fat!

Maybe this year I need to take weekly photos of myself and set a more realistic goal here, the one lb per week! If I lost 52 lbs by the end of the year I would be thin. I think maybe this is the way to go.

So, for today, goal is to stay within my calories and log in every calorie! Also, I need to figure out a way to fill myself without eating...maybe drink lots of tea or something! Ill make a soup today so I can have a cup of broth when I am really hungry. Any ideas on this?

    Feeling really discouraged :(

@lacatgirl Don't be too hard on yourself. Each day is a new beginning. I also gained over the past couple months. We know what works and we continue. I eat greek yogurt as a snack. Mix in sweetener and cocoa, peanut butter powder, sugar free jam. Fills me with high protein and low calories. I also make my own cheese chips for when I crave crunch and salty.

Thanks for the encouragement Tammierlewis! The cheese chips sound great - what kind of cheese do you use?

I woke up today and decided to venture onto the scale for the first time in a week...if I am going to seriously start losing again, I know that the first step is to face the number on the scale! I was up almost twenty lbs since August! Very very upsetting! It is ridiculous that if I am not dieting I am gaining at a rate of 2lbs per week! This is the reality though so I need to wrap my head around that and realized that I cannot ever just eat whatever I want.

So, I am going to weigh in every morning no matter what I ate the day before. I know that water weight can play havoc with the numbers but I will try to keep emotion out of the day to day fluctuations.

I did a 5/2 diet this spring keeping within my daily cals on the five days and eating 500 cals (or as close as I could manage) for two days. I am starting this again today - making a huge pot of "weight loss' veg soup and huge pot of chicken soup. It is the only way I can keep my calorie intake down! I fill up on soup, keeping any noodles or rice separate so I can measure it out.

I really, really, need to stop this gaining.

@lacatgirl The cheese chips are easy. I make a large batch and keep them in the fridge for a quick snack. I use pre shredded Mexican blend cheese, any shredded cheese will work. Place small measured amounts on a baking sheet lined with parchment. I add sprinkles of chives, garlic powder, pepper flakes or caraway seed. Bake in 350 degree oven 5-6 minutes till golden brown. There are several recipes on line. Also check out the recipe for Cloud Bread. Good substitute for sliced bread or taco shells.

We got this! New year, New life!

Good Morning, I was down almost 2lbs from my 5/2 fast day yesterday. I am feeling very inspired by the idea of losing one lb per week as a goal. If I accomplish this I would be 122lbs by next Jan1. I dont think I would go down that low but 125 would be great. Slow and steady!
