Heather - I gave Jessamy's video a thumbs up, and wrote my own blog post about it, and shared it there. It made an enormous impact on my thought process about my writing, and I'm grateful for that. Should bring her a few new viewers, and I hope it does. I woke up thinking about it, and wrote about it. Helped sort out something I've been thinking about for a long, long time.

Lisa in NC6 -
Good morning! Quickly as I have to get ready for DH dr appt for heart, then work.
Rye- Hula hoop sounds fun. My mom enjoys it, but I can't get it to stay up longer than about 15 seconds if that-haha!
Wendy- My DH is the same way with the TV. There are a few shows we watch together, but most I like, I record, and watch at a later time on different tv. You are right, who needs carpet! hahaha! Actually need new, but my fur babies are both old, so it is on the wait list.
Sharon- Some days it needs to be about US! We give lots, so deserve a "me" day occasionally! Sorry to read about your son. You are correct that they don't think it through. I hope it goes well. Kids really can be resilient. Just some adjusting and calm on the adults parts helps. Hugs
Have a blessed day Ladies!

Just watched Jessamys video through Lisa's Blog.. Outstanding!!! Really makes you think...what I got out of it is..even though you go through life checking things off your life list..it is not how you get there without having fun and living in between...
Rori-whooo hoo so happy for you..enjoy retirement my friend...4 -
Rori ~ So happy for you in retiring. I agree with your decision to have a quiet good bye!
Sharon ~ Glad your doctor is helping you to begin getting the disability that you need.
Donna ~ What a terrific change.
Carol in GA where I am glad there are no sand storms!5 -
Donna- what an awesome transformation! Hard work, I know, but you look beautiful and more importantly, happier!

I'm alive but golly-gosh I've been busy. Just sent off the penultimate proofs on the 160-page research mag I've been working on since New Year's. Heading to Stockholm Friday to take care of the grandkids over the weekend while my son and his wife are at her cousin's wedding. After that, the online course I'm teaching lasts two more weeks. I'm SO ready for some down time!

My husband just asked to go with him later this week to an event with a political agenda. He said he would like it if I went with him. Just thinking about it made me uncomfortable and claustrophobic and panicky and I told him I didn't want to go. He was very cool and said he'd go by himself. I am so relieved.8

Couldn't sleep so here I am, now two hours later time to get up and can't keep my eyes open
Heather, your DDIL's TEDx talk really touched me. holding good thoughts for her and your DS.
Mackha thanks for the pics! Love the found alleyway.
Joyce SO with you about the charges. Medicare was billed almost $1500 for the ultrasound on my leg... 15 minutes with a tech. If I didn't have Part D insurance, my Xarelto rx would cost over $1000/month.
Rita sandstorms can be so scary. Be safe!
Lisa "... feel as if I know all of you" ditto. Sometimes I'll tell Joe about what my "internet friends" said about such and such, just as if we were physically near.
pip Floor exercises, yup. And for me getting back up off the floor is an exercise unto itself
Kylia great walking!
Rori your planned transition sounds just right!
Rye I loved hula hooping as a child but have lost the knack. Any tips?
Sharon so glad your doctor conferred with and listened to your daughter. Would love to hear the sister chocolate cake saga
NYKaren "bounced out of the building, clearly relieved" that will surely light your path.
Donna you look like a ballerina!
Welcome Bialetti Laura, would you tell us your approximate location to help us keep you straight from our other Lauras?
Time to meditate, breakfast, shower, fold laundry and prep for T'ai Chi. . . zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Mindful hugs to all,

Hi ladies,
KJ, glad to hear the inspection went well. I’m not surprised as you do an awesome job.
Wendy, love to hear how the new diet goes.
Michele, thanks for the update on Lenora. I was wondering how she was doing. Hope Vince feels better fast. For your sake. lol
Becca, love the bracelet. I can imagine it full of beads.
Rye, glad your talk with your DH ended with you not visiting those “friends” again. Time to plan a visit to a “new” city.
Rori, The day has finally arrived! Well done girl! I’m going out the same way…quietly. Doing the Snoopy happy dance.
Wendy, If you like period pieces we just finished watching the series “Versailles” which takes place during the time of Louis XIII (1641). Versailles is a palace near Paris. The series shows how the king and the court was back then. It’s sort of like a soap opera the all the palace intrigues. The acting is good. And we really enjoyed it. Here is the link to the trailer. As a heads up, it’s not G rated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9WTU_33Ank
Sharon, you were so wise to bring Jheri along to your appointment. As hard as it is, it probably for the best to be away from work. The stress can’t help you get better. I think you are very perceptive about Creedin’s feelings. Will he open up to you? Kids always want to please their parents. I think you will do well and yes this is just a new chapter in your life. “Life is an open book full of blank pages. You write the story as you go.” Glad you made you decision and I’m sure you will find a new path.
Penny, good to hear from you. Sounds like your life has been very busy.
Barbie, glad your husband was understanding. You go girl with that research paper.
Welcome to all the newbies.
Well it is almost March and I’ve not stuck to my calories one day. Tomorrow I must get serious and start getting back on track!

Sorry, I didn't realize the trailer would show up like that.0

KarenNY: Proud of you for losing a pound while on a holiday. Best of luck with the remainder of your orchestra season.
Lisa: Has it been a year already??? So glad you are enjoying your job. They are lucky to have you.
SueinWA: Adorable puppy.
Machka: I'm just in awe at how much distance you cover on your rides. Thanks for the photo tour.
Pip: Floor exercises...totally with you there. Hate 'em. But I might be asking you to raise your boot in my direction and get me back in the gym.
Heather: DIL is brilliant! I'm sending good thoughts across the pond for some real estate luck to come your way.
My two magical months of living in countdown mode are about to end. ONE. MORE. DAY. My retirement is going to be a surprise to most of my associates around the country. It's my choice to make a quiet exit. My team wants me to come back to NYC in March for a face to face sendoff. No way! No parties, no gifts, no cards, please. Biggest honor would be for them to support our council in Puerto Rico, which is in a world of hurt because they had to cancel their cookie sale this year. It's a disastrous hit to their finances. Hope they hear me.
I have lined up people to move out my home office furniture and a local handyman will be here in 2 weeks to paint the space which I am redecorating as my Zen den. While painting is happening, DH and I will probably take the train to Glenwood Springs, on the western slope of the Rockies, and spend a couple days soaking in the mineral springs and just being in the mountains. Looking forward, feeling positive. Happy dance music is queued up and ready to blast in about 20 hours.
Stay well friends. We can do this.

Rori - Sooooooo happy for you!
Well my friends, OUR OFFER HAS BEEN ACCEPTED!
Then I went out for the very last run of the c25k app. I am now a graduate! I flew along as we had just heard the news and the adrenaline was flowing.
Now we just need them to find a house with no onward chain.
Lisa - thanks for that! I always read your blog.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx

Yay Heather! Good news on two fronts!
I recall you said something about not running a full 5 km in your 30-minute stints. Well jeez! I don't think I've ever been able to sustain 10 km/h for a full half hour. Not even when I was a fit young thing in my 40s. :noway:
Nowadays I shamble along at my 8 km/h pace and when people pass me as though I'm standing still, I take perverse comfort in the fact that although I'm not as fast as they are, I'm a lot older.
Soooooon I'll get my head back on straight and start running again.

HEATHER wonderful news about house and grats on running
ALLIE your oasis will be lovely
PENNY nice to hear from you
I watched Versailles too, now we are watching snooker again
A TV prog started this week, a group of 'celebs' go to Sardinia and the aim is to lose 100 years off them collectively in 3 weeks. They measured their face, body and brain age before they start, the one who had all 3 lower than her birth age was actress June Brown (Dot Cotton) in Eastenders who is 90. She has smoked for 62 years and the only thing wrong is that she is too thin. Will be interesting to see how they get on.

Joyce: So sorry about your medical costs. I hope the burden will be helped by health insurance. :flowerforyou:
Michele: Thank you for the update on Lenora's situation. I'm grateful to know what is going on in her life these days.
Becca: Does your eldest son look very much like his dad? He sure seems to be a chip off of the old block to me. It is nice that you shared his photo. :flowerforyou:
Rori: Congratulations on your retirement!!!!!
Wendy: "Ignoramus" is a word my mom used to use from time to time. Naturally, "ignoramuses" is the plural form. Or is it ignorami?
Sharon in Lethbridge: I hope your short term disability is helpful and you are able to qualify for long term disability. :flowerforyou:
Penny: You are so busy. I hope your downtime is restful and you manage to have fun.
Heather: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am so happy for you that your offer has been accepted. I hope you and your DH are blissfully happy in your new location.
Alison: Congratulations on a good settlement from your divorce. Yay!!!
I have been malingering at home for days and days with a low grade headache. I just haven't felt good enough for the gym or Arrow. Today I feel a little bit better. Yay!!! I'm thinking about getting some exercise at the gym. There is no yoga for today but I can use the stationary bike & some of the strength machines.

Hello Ladies ☺. I've missed 1000 posts from Jan and all of Feb. I hope all is well for everyone. I hope to be back (lurking) and eating healthier now that the initial "tax season" rush is over. I jumped on the junk food train even before it got real busy and my trousers are hollering about it. Happy March to all. LINDA NJ7

I am with DoTerra Essential Oils! I love the oils! They got me off a whole lot of medications!4 -
So, the refrigerator finally was delivered. And, Although we THOUGHT we measured carefully it doesn’t fit . (Approx 1/8th to 1/4 inch too small.)
In a quandary. We don’t have any money to remodel - could barely afford the fridge. Would have to remove some ceramic tiles to make the fridge fit. Then would have to figure out a way to finish the countertop where we removed the tiles.
The new fridge is the silver on right. The green ceramic endcap tiles are the ones we need to remove because they overhang just enough to make the refrigerator off-set the other side of the opening.

Rori - congratulations on your retirement!
Heather - congratulations on your home! It's beautiful!
Sorry I have not been around. I have been battling vertigo for the last three days. I tried the maneuver that everyone talks about but it made it 100 times worse. I thought my head was going to explode. Just taking it easy and fighting what feels like carsickness because of the dizziness.

Heather Oh my gosh I just finished watching Jessamy's TedX talk. Life changer. I messaged her to thank her and she replied immediately. What a gem!

Yeah, taxes and death, right? With both of of getting SS and anuities from the state of TX, and I have another from HanesBrands, we just get screwed. We certainly don’t make that much!
I suggested paying in quarterly payments to DH but he said he would keep his cash until he has to spend it!
I have been tossing around going to an attorney for a consult about my mothers passing. As you see she was in a rehab because she had fallen and she was having a hard time walking. She was doing OK but she still can go to the bathroom without some help. The reason why she fell is because my “evil” sister and her got into an argument and at the time my sister lived with her in Arkansas. So she got pissed off and took off for home which is in Las Vegas, Nevada. She never told me that she was leaving because neither one of them were talking to me at the time. But my mother texted her and told her that she fell and she needed help so she calls the lady down at the church down the street. The lady took her to the local hospital. Then the local hospital had her set up to Little Rock because she needed a pacemaker; which is about 2 hour drive north. At that time my sister called me and told me what was going on and she was flying in from Vegas to Little Rock. So I’m about a hour and a half or so from Little Rock out in Hot Springs so I offered to pick her up being a nice person as I am. So I picked her up at the airport and we went to see our mother and she was just so happy to see me after not talking for a year. So when she got out of the hospital they sent her to the rehab and like I said she was doing OK but then she was not feeling well and so my sister who had the flu really really bad for two weeks, had her taken to the hospital from rehab. The doctor at the ER said that there was nothing wrong with her so they sent her back to the rehab that afternoon. My mother told the doctor that she went back there she would die. And that night she passed away. Her death certificate said 11:30 PM January 5. However, The nurse called me at 12:40 AM on the 6th and she said that mom had rang her and by the time she got down there at 12:20 she was already passed. So it just seems to me that there was a whole lot of negligence going on with my mother’s death. She wasn’t feeling well plus the nurses had to supply her the Advair when she was a custom to using it at will. It said on her Death certificate that she died of acute respiratory failure, acute heart failure and kidney disease.
So do you think I have a case? She was 89.
Sorry for rambling. I’m just upset today and didn’t sleep well last night.
I have been doing better with my diet though. Yeah me!
RORI: Congrats! 5 more days! DH and I had to sign papers 90 days in advance. It seemed like an eternity plus my boss thought of 50 more things for me to before I left!
Talk later...
Dana in Arkansas
Sorry to hear about your Mother. I come from a F-d up family as well! I was informed 10 days after my mother died from the flu. Who told me was one of my nieces because she thought it was really mean that I wasn't being told. To make a long story short, my brother and I were officially disowned from the family - letter from the lawyer stating that our presence was no longer required. Our opinions/assistance was also no longer wanted. We just walked away. We felt sad that this is how sibling treat each other. WHY did we get disowned? We felt that Mom needed to be placed into an assisted living location. My 4 siblings did not want that because then they did not have control of the little money she did have. From what I have been able to piece together, she was found wondering around in her apartment building, naked and suffering from severe flu (she died less than 3 days later). Both our parents are gone now....we have absolutely no reason to have any dealings with our siblings from this point forward.
