Upcoming races:
May 12- Montana Women's run 5 miles
July 17-Missoula Marathon
September 16- Montana half Marathon
I love the Agility X! I haven't done it in a while because we re-arranged our basement and I have been too lazy to put the tape on the floor...lol!
I didnt use tape this time, just imagined it, lol
I tried it without the tape, but it is so much better if you actually have it. You should try it. I use painter's tape, so it's easy to see and comes off the carpet easily.1 -
March Running Update
Week 1: 12
Aspiring to hit a minimum of 168 as I continue my quest to run a marathon
Planned cutback week perfectly aligned to my 4 day ski trip in CO. These 12 Miles (over 2 days) were some of the toughest I have run to date with an altitude of nearly 9,000 feet after skiing a full day each time. My pace was way slower and I found it took me a couple of miles to catch my breath and to be able to breathe more normally which led to several run then stop to walk combos. Ended up being a great week of skiing (nearly 100 Miles/100k of elevation) while using my feet/legs differently.8 -
@Elise4270 there is no chest strap with it, just my fitbit watch. I had a polar FT4 I think it was and it was like $50, but that was 6 years ago. My fitbit reads accurately with pretty much every workout except running, If I try and hold my arm fairly still, it reads better, but who runs with 1 stiff arm, haha
@lporter229 Ive used tape too, I just didnt feel like putting tape down, haha1 -
Went hiking out at Estrella Mountains today instead of lifting weights or running. Took a shorter trail so not sure exactly how far we went (didn't use my Garmin to record exercise, just wore it). Maybe 4-5k steps? Did "15 flights" in elevation LOL5

I do not have a Fitbit, but when I used to use an Apple Watch, I found that the HR was not accurate unless I made sure the watch was extra tight before running. My Garmin does not have this problem, but perhaps your new Fitbit does? Next time you run, try making it as tighter than you have been, maybe?0 -

It kind of felt harder today. I think I ran faster and recovered slower this time, which in the end made it about the same time/distance as last week.

5k treadmill run tonight, then went to the running store and came home with these little beauties.

@amymoreorless my goal is a sub 2 hour half marathon too. I was hoping to hit it at the Shamrock in 2 weeks, but I was sick most of February so I don’t think I’ll be able to do it. All of my long runs since getting sick have been really slow.
I’m hopeful for my next half in October!5 -

I am hoping for 1:50 at the Shamrock Shuffle here... so here's hoping we both win! I have been told the course I am running is very tough. So we will see!5 -

This guy, I suppose. I wonder how he tied his shoe laces?

Seeing as I seem to no longer be thinking about my shin during my runs, I decided to test things a little with a return to 80/20 running, and put in a much harder effort for this morning. The shin still feels fine with zero pain, but now my right knee is sore on the outside...oops! At least the remainder of this week's runs will be done easy.

Group speedwork tonight was 2 min intervals x 6, plus warm-up, cool-down and sprints. I got in another personal training session this morning so I wasn't super energetic for this workout tonight. But got it done.
I also did the Fit3D body scanning at the gym today. Wow, that's a lot of info to take in. Kind of impressive to see the 3D avatar of myself and all the measurements, but kind of uncomfortable too - like a long hard look in a mirror from all angles. I was not unhappy with the results but see definite room for improvement. I almost wish I had this information from before I lost weight and along the way as I started running. I would love to see the data on that progress. But it would probably have been a bit hard to take at the time when I was at my highest weight ever.

From the picture- it kind of looks like he DIDNT tie his shoe laces, or at least didn’t tie the one very well.
I am at 1.25 for the month. Should have had a run over the weekend as it was gorgeous and sunny and pretty out.... but... I am the special one who drops a 45lb bumper plate on her GOOD ankle/foot while unloading the bar from deadlifts. It’s not too bad, despite what all the pretty colors indicate, but the worst sore spot is right where running shoes hit, and so pretty day running lost out to me being a klutz.7 -
4.7 miles treadmill tonight
I'm re-training still and can't believe how rungry I am despite how few miles that was and it was at a slow pace to boot.

Only signed up yesterday but still to start as husband was late home from work so I didn't have anyone to watch the toddlebeasts!2

Today's run felt tired from yesterday's HIIT. Very good workout for sure, but I feel it will mess with my run-lift training sequence since it sucks my energy big time. Upper body lifting this afternoon and I think I must deload this week to get some muscle rest.
Stay free of injuries!
