Consensus this morning is that my ankle is fine but the opposite knee is really badly bruised. I think it's just bruised. I hope it's just bruised...
@juliet3455 Yesterday's was in Rundle Park, so way NE of many of the other parks! I made sure not to get the Gold bar WW Plant in my shot... Occasionally the wind shifted and I got a bit of a noseful! Last year I had a race that started in Kinsman, through Emily Murphy Park and pretty much all the way around Hawrelak Park, then came back via Emily Murphy Park Road and Saskatchewan Drive. That was a nice one although the hill was killer. I was actually faster during that run despite adding an extra 1.2km by missing a turnaround than I was yesterday.4 -
@theshaleco I did the Rugged Maniac a few years ago with my friends and my daughter. It was on a ski hill course so we went up and down the mountain as we did the obstacles. It was tough but we had a lot of fun!1

skippygirlsmom wrote: »@Teresa502 here I am. I have been fighting to get passed whatever it was that made me sick. I'm still coughing but finally the daily sick to the stomach feeling is gone (it was like 3 weeks). My friend is a doctor and swears I had pneumonia which was going around here and one of the girls I work with had it the week before and came to work every day thank you very much. I was running one day a week with my running club and could barely make 2 miles. Hopefully I'm over the hump now since I have a HM in less than a month ugh.
Goal this month 100 miles
3/1 - 0
3/2 - 0
3/3 - 0
3/4 - 0
3/5 - 5 miles
5 of 100 miles
5 slow miles, but it was good to get past 2 miles and not be laying on the couch coughing.
YAY! Glad you are getting better. Hope the cough goes away soon too!0 -

Yes, I did! It is huge now! It is a good thing too because she should have been at a 12:30 or so pace by now but with how far behind she is, it could be more like a 13:30 pace, which put her awful close to the original 14min cut off.
Are you running it then?
I'm only doing the half! After the Detroit marathon in November, I've sworn off fulls for a while!0 -

Do I get to count cross country skiing in my totals Going tomorrow.
Sounds like running to me!
Good.

@mommarobb - amazing weight loss- you look great! I started with C25K in 2014 and loved it as well. Running is quite addicting. I recommend you look for a 5K to sign up for that starts after you finish.
I'm starting week 7 of a 12 week strength training program that focuses on whole body. I was doing just a glutes workout but I didn't have all the eqpt I needed, so I found this one. There is a day of Upper Body, Lower Body, and two whole body days. I am loving it. I think in the 3+ years I have been lifting, even with a trainer the first 2 years, I wasn't pushing myself to go heavier. I'm amazed at how much more I can lift than I thought I could. I can really feel the difference in my body as well from just the first 6 weeks. It's cut into my running and cycling but I'm okay with that for now. Now I'm wondering what I will do when I finish it!
I have a 62 or 100 mile ride coming up on March 25th that I should be training for... so I better get on it the next two weekends! It is for Tour de Cure (Diabetes Ride). I usually end up doing the 62 instead of 100 because of the weather.
3/1 - rest day
3/2 - 5 miles + Strength training - W6-C
3/3 - 26 miles cycling -- quit due to winds
3/4 - 3 miles + strength training -w6-D
3/5 - 3.5 miles + tbd

Awwww... but a full is just like a half, just do it twice!
Did you run it last year? If not, you are in for a treat. The new route has the 1/2 pretty darn flat. WAY falt on Pittsburg scale at least.

Wow! 17 pages already. Now that I seem to have almost kicked influenza (along with all but one other person in my family), back to it. Between injury and now this, going to have to dump my late April HM and maybe pick one up in May or June if I can.
March goal = 80 miles and at least 4 runs per week.
3/1 - Rest / sick
3/2 - Rest / sick
3/3 - 4.25 miles. Beautiful day to run!
3/4 - 4.5 miles. Wanted to do more, but ran out of gas.

My wife and I only live like 30 mins from the race start, but we will be staying overnight this year before the race. Got a room with a few hundred feet fo the start/finish area.
Was just too much "fun" dealing with getting there before all the roads close and etc last year.2 -

Ok! I'm in!
I've started the c25k a few times but always fail at week 5! I'm currently on week 4 so should have a 5 km completed by the end of the month.
A local park does timed 5k every day so my goal for march will be 50km and to do a timed 5km on 31st march! ❤️13 -

@karllundy glad to see you're on the mend!
My total for the month so far is already 1/3rd my total for all of February, so it's a great start but I really need to be careful not to overdo it. Just over 40 miles for the week, first time since my 50K last April. I'll probably get chastised by my PT Thursday for that, as I should.
16 miles yesterday, solo with about 15% walking. I don't want Kody running that far on pavement so I left him behind. My intent was 15 miles but this was part of my quest to run all the roads in town and I ended up finding two new housing developments which weren't on my map yet so I had to run them while I was there. This was the 17th run in that quest with 13 more to go. That doesn't include the federal highway going through town. I haven't decided if I'll attempt that or not.
My ITB started niggling at just 4 miles, but it never really developed into pain until the last mile. Perhaps that had something to do with the beer I stopped for. I never bring cash with me when I run, but something compelled me to bring cash yesterday. At mile 15 I was running by an indoor soccer & golf center which has a cheesy little bar and that's when I had my "Aha moment". I paused my Garmin, went in and ordered a Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA. It was divine! I did get a few strange looks while I was there. Not sure if it was the UD hydration vest or the fact that I was the only one in shorts. Or may be it was my stunning good looks...hard to say.
I was pretty happy with the way the run went, but I am feeling some pain today. Hopefully being up and walking around today will help.

Hope the IT band behaves ITself.

Anyone recommend a chreapish chest strap HR monitor? My fitbit charge was pretty accurate reading my HR during runs, but now I have the charge 2, and it is way off during runs, It reads my heart rate about 102-106 when Its really around 155. I would like to know what its really at while im running, so Im thinking ill just get a chest strap for runs, but dont want to spend much.0

I don't know of a cheap one. Can you contact the manufacturer and ask for advise? Is the one you are using a chest strap? Is it wet? Is it positioned and snug? Garmin suggested I toy with the positioning of mine.
Good luck with it. I hope someone has more to offer.
