Just paid the balance on our June cruise. Had a letter to say it was due on 7th March.
Did a 53 minute run today. Didn't measure distance, but enjoyed myself. We did our normal exercise session this morning.
The girl who wants the high chair is also taking the travel cot plus linen. Hooray! She is coming on Wednesday.
While I was running DH went grocery shopping.
Now to get rid of a double bed head in white painted wrought iron.
Barbara - Mushy peas are cooked dried green peas. They are very popular with fish and chips. They make a sort of thick lumpy sauce. We buy ours in tins when we have them at home. I'm very fond of them - may have them tonight with salmon.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxx

Sharon in Lethbridge: Thank you for understanding the loss of sailing. It was the way DH & I had fun and adventures together. I'm also very grateful for the opportunity to ride Arrow. It helps to have another fun activity.
(((Machka))) I hope you are able to get some enjoyable rest. Riding long distances on a bike would not be restful for everyone, but it seems to be perfect for you. :flowerforyou:
Lisa: Feeling proactive rather than reactive is a huge improvement. Congratulations!!!
Barbara: Sunday is my fosamax day--I take the generic, alondrate. It has worked wonders for improving my bone density. Weight bearing exercise is the other key requirement for improving bone heath.
Caroline in TN: Stop by often for encouragement and support. I hope you have a good experience with OA. This system is perfect for me, but I had a coworker who used weight watchers system and was able to be successful. There is more than one road to success. :flowerforyou:
Peach: I hope the weather stays calm in your area and you are safe.
Yoga today! My favorite teacher will be teaching. At the moment, yoga is offered Monday, Thursday and Friday. I'm glad to have another day available. They're looking for another yoga teacher. Some of my fellow students are only able to come on Wednesdays, so I keep hoping for a teacher that day for their sakes.

Hi ladies,
Kylia, I can certainly understand why you had a stressful day. Remember to take your own advice and take care of yourself. If it helps, keep unloading here. It’s a great place for that.
Dana, loved the pictures. Wish I was there with you. I could use some warm days and sun shine.
Sharon, you have a very talented daughter.
Heather, I think if your son started training for a marathon it would be a good thing for him to focus on right now.
Lisa, glad to hear your daughter is moving on as well. You’re right, she’ll get there. Sounds like your son is getting things moving with the job. Good for him.
Penny, your DH picture is what I see when I look out the window at home.
Caroline, you CAN do it!
CharlieAnn, good for you stopping at the ½ cupcake.
Eat all weekend and when I got on the scales this morning, I’m up 10 lbs since the holidays. That was like a slap in the face. I could have cried as I know how hard I worked to get them off and finally reach onederland. Maybe this is the shock I need to get back on track. Talked to my DH on our way into work. He is very supportive and understanding. So far today I’m back on track and determined. Send good thoughts my way please.
Hugs, Terry in very cold VT10 -

Hey all! Kids are getting ready to wake up from nap. Just wanted to catch up and touch base before they all get up. I weighed in this morning and lost 3 (THREE) pounds! Whoot! Happy dancin' on a Monday! Must be the yoga. I wasn't really enjoying it; but if it is going to give me results like that...I will keep on doing it. Got in a walk with the kiddos this morning! It was wonderful. Cold, but wonderful.
Michele and Carol- You can add me to the list of never been to Disneyland/World or otherwise. As a kid, it wasn't even on my radar. As an adult, it was never on my top 10 list of places I want to go. SO...I have never taken my own kids. And as adults, they don't really care if they ever go. My desire for far off places has trickled down to them. (Hurray!) and unlike me; they have and are visiting far off places. DD has been to England, France, Ireland, Spain, Greece, Switzerland, Mexico and around the U.S.. DYS has been to Mexico, Ireland, and Peru. DOS is like his father and doesn't like to travel. He has been to Florida with his mom (I am his stepmom). When he was eight, she took him to "Disneyworld" but they never left the hotel pool, so I don't know if that counts. I would like to visit Epcot, though. Other than that, if I am going to fork out the kind of money it costs to visit; I'd rather spend it going to another country. That's just me.
Janet- Gorgeous view! It does look like a Christmas card!

People do look at you kind of crazy when you live in the United States of America and say that you have never been to Disneyland/world. Kind of funny, really. World has only been around since 1970 something.3

CharlieAnn31 wrote: »Just wanted to check in with all of you for my Sunday. Had dinner with my sister, her family, and my brother on Sunday. We had a choice of spaghetti squash or spaghetti with the marinara sauce. I was great, I chose the spaghetti squash, It was actually good. When they brought out the cupcakes for the kids birthday (my niece and nephew celibate the same month) I had one half of one cupcake and stopped there. I also had the smallest of nubs of a piece of Italian sausage and added it as 2 oz. I know i'm not supposed to weigh myself every day but I gained one pound. Not sure if it is because of how I ate or would have gained the pound no matter what. My son is supposed to come over tonight because he will be on this side of town for a class he is going to. I always enjoy every minute I get to be with him.
Kyla what part of ohio do you live in. I live Northeast near the lake in Lake county. I read your post and was thinking that if your husband is blind he would have to be very neat so that he can find things easily. If he does not put things in an exact spot he will not find it. It may not be OCD really but survival.
Dana you made me smile this morning with your picture of the giraffe. Last summer we stayed at a resort in Disney World that had giraffes walking around on the property along with other animals. I loved the giraffes the best. They are so sweet.
Well I have to get off to work. It is going to be a busy day and have to get home in time to welcome my son when he comes over.
Charlie Ann, I just wanted to say that some of us on here weigh ourselves every day and some even do a morning and night weighing. Who's "rules" are you following? We can set our own rules for what works individually and some of us find daily weighing to help us stay on track and correct course and also not panic when we see the daily ups and downs. We can also see how different foods, salt levels, eating out, etc affect our weight, as well as times of the month and even seasons of the year. So don't apologize for weighing yourself whenever you feel the need. It's your body, do what you deem best.
Sharon, I love the Arty Party!
Penny, I enjoy seeing your Northern pics and hearing about your life there. There is a place for everyone in the world. It wouldn't be my choice as I hate the cold. We very rarely get snow here in the moderate microclimate where I live. Other parts of New Zealand get snow, but not us. We are ten minutes from the sea and our weather is "mild". We get plenty of wind and rain and it's usually not too hot not too cold. And then a few nasty storms every year. So a bit of everything really. The rule here is to expect four seasons in one day and dress in layers so you can put on or take off as needed. I like this climate, (even though I do complain on cold rainy days!) because I can ride my horses year round and walk, hike, bike, garden outside. I get cabin fever if forced inside for long times. But I do try to pry my husband away during our winter season to take a holiday somewhere where the sun is shining. I could easily live six months in NZ and six months in USA, and have year round summer. I am working on this plan but it means having a trusted person (possibly one of my daughter's) live on our property to take care of animals while I am away...(And reducing animals numbers so it's not too great a burden on her) So I need to stop getting new animals!
It's a glorious day off here and I am about to take Jock and Major for their morning walk then do kettlebells and hula hoop and then horses, gardening, writing and cooking. Will make a lentil, mushroom curry to go with my rainbow salad: purple cabbage, beets, red onion, tomato, red pepper, yellow pepper, carrot, greens, alfalfa sprouts, broccoli, mushroom, beans with avacado, garlic, soymilk ,coriander and basil dressing.

Today is International Read To Me Day!
"International Read To Me day was established by the Child Writes Foundation to encourage the growth and spread of adult literacy. ... (B)eing read to as a child helped to encourage literacy and a love of reading in adults." Reading was definitely a part of my bedtime from earliest childhood, and I am so grateful it was!
Felicia - There's a gorgeous choral arrangement of "Ulysses" that my women's chorus performed awhile back. YouTube has a bunch of versions, but here's one of them for you (not my chorus): https:// youtu.be/ Od2hXj9xk3M (de-linked)
CharlieAnn - Don't stress about the steps! You'll get there!
Dana - Awwwww... love those photos of the kids with the giraffe!
Kelly - Philip and I also have very eclectic musical tastes! We could run a radio station with the amount of music we own. In fact, our camp for Burning Flipside (kind of like Burning Man, but smaller) runs a tiny public service radio station during the event and Philip always has at least one DJ slot. It's fun to figure out his sets and to share music that a lot of people haven't heard before.
Okie - We've been to Disney World while visiting Philip's grandmother, but one of these days I'd love to see Disney Land!
I worked on the bathroom floor some more over the weekend. It is tedious, filthy work but I'm looking forward to seeing it done! What was on there before was 1950's marbled linoleum with gold sparkles. I forgot to take a "before" picture but here's what it looks like in a heap after pulling it up:
And here is what the floor looks like before and after scraping:
Spring is definitely here. Last week after working on trimming a palm tree in our back yard, I had a large, blistered, intensely itchy insect bite on my left bicep. Just as it was finally starting not to drive me nuts, I went out yesterday to work on the other palm tree and guess what? Now I've got two similar bites on my right bicep! Wondering if there's some kind of spider living in those trees.
This was our monthly "work weekend" where we had specific things we wanted to get done. It felt good to make progress on outstanding projects, and we're definitely making strides toward getting Philip's practice space ready. He wants to drop a day from his schedule in Austin so he can start building a practice here in town.
I've been reading Barbara Kingsolver's book "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" about the lack of a true American "food culture," and it's very interesting. Her family moved to a small farm in the Appalachians to undertake a year-long experiment in eating - as much as possible - only locally available, in-season food.
Hope the readers among you get some time with a good book today!

Beautiful picture. You're right it does look like a Christmas card.5 -
Kelley, Way to go girl!!!!2

Janet ~ That could definitely make a beautiful card. Maybe your daughter should get it blown up and framed.
Yvonne ~ What a tedious job you are undertaking. My hat is off to you!

Yvonne, we will be doing our bathroom this year. Don't look forward to ripping up the flooring but can't wait to see it done. That's if DH and I can agree on a tile. lol

The sun is SHINING in Portland! Time for a brisk walk for lunch.
Sure in Troutdale, OR6 -
Just got home from work and popped in here to see how all you ladies are doing. Already got in 3000 steps and still plan on going to the gym which will give me some more, not to mention walking Dexter.
Wendy...thanks, i know you are right about everyone is different about how often they weigh themselves. I have had people make comments to me because i weigh myself every day. I am glad this group isn't like that.
Yvonne...Are you putting that floor in yourself. that is a lot of hard work. I don't think i'd be able to do that by myself. I'm impressed. You will earn a lot of calories doing that job.
grandmallie... I'm sorry your snake died. Thank you for trying to make him feel better with the heating lamp. That snake lived a long time though. my son use to own a snake named Flick. It was all ball python. Very sweet snake that went to live with a guy who owned a traveling zoo that went around to the schools, nursing homes, children's parties etc... He was so friendly you could hold him without being afraid you would get bit and they liked him for that reason. He got a lot of love and attention with his new papa.
Terry... hang in there...you will lose that 10 pounds again. I wish I would have stopped at 10 pounds when I gained my weight back, I wouldn't be where I am right now if I did.
Barbara...I like the idea of posting your activity at the bottom of your posts
Heather...where are you going on our cruise. How exciting.
