4/8 - ???
4/9 - 214.2 -getting refocused today and recommitting. My lowest was 205.9 and hoping to get back there and then keep going down.
4/10 - 209.8 - loss of water weight after a great day yesterday. Schedule thrown off today as I wasn’t home. Packed a lunch but was hungry before that so grabbed a steak sub (so an extra meal). Had a handful of chocolates due to cravings as I detox from the sugar. Tomorrow no sugar!
4/11 - 210.0 - did really well with meals but then got into the chocolate. Bad bad bad. I will th again tomorrow. I did go for a 4.5km walk pulling baby in the wagon and then played 45min it volleyball and cleaned the house. So maybe that will help balance the chocolate!
4/12 - 209.8
4/13 - 207.6 - is skipped dinner yesterday as I was so . Smoothie for breakfast and leftover rice and chicken for lunch. Had some sweet treats throughout the day. Didn’t get all my water in which may be why I dropped. But I’ll take it!

Date - Weight - Update
4/8 (Sun) - 189.6 - Saturday was pretty lazy. Hit the gym, but started cleaning out the fridge by eating through most of my leftovers, so I'm honestly surprised I lost weight as of Sunday morning.
4/9 (Mon) - 189.4 - Sunday was my cleaning day. Didn't track my meals too well, so I'm proud of myself for staying healthy. Workout this afternoon - about 600 cals.
4/10 (Tues) - 187.0 - Well, that's a WHOOSH™ if I've ever seen one. Ended up doubling my workout yesterday (1200 cals), so that helped, but definitely wouldn't have killed almost 2.5 lbs. Here's hoping that was just a loss of a bunch of water weight; Exercising in the afternoon - about 500 cals.
4/12 (Wed) - 186.2 - What the heck. It must have been water weight. Or this is a very deceptive WHOOSH™, I like it. Let's keep this momentum going! Changing my goal weight for this round. Was not expecting to hit it quite so soon! GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAL!!!! ; Exercising in the afternoon - about 600 cals.
4/13 (Thurs) - 186.8 - Knew I'd get a higher value today. I went out for a drink with an old friend last night, so I'm sure this is mostly water, but who knows? Still under on calories for yesterday. Guess we'll see if I meet my second goal this week; Exercised in the morning - about 600 cals, debating exercising in the afternoon.
4/14 (Fri) - 187.2 - Okay, this can stop increasing now. I understand my carb intake has been a bit higher the past few days, but I'm looking for a downward trend, not this nonsense; Today is a rest day.

Nothing works unless you have a sustained calorie deficit over time. Anything will work if you have a sustained calorie deficit over time.
Motivation is overrated. What you need is education, willingness to eat less, a good plan, and discipline to stick to it.
According to Big Fat Myths: When You Lose Weight, Where Does the Fat Go? which is an interesting perspective on "diet" we injest 148oz / 9.25 lbs of food/water/oxygen a day but depending on how efficient everything processes we don't operate on a perfect 24 hour cycle to process all that so you get weight fluctuations. I think that is semi comforting to keep in mind we are not robots and CICO doesn't operate at perfect 24 hour scale either.5 -

Day/Weight/Comment
4/8 - 180.0 I always fluctuate a little bit, but as long as I'm fluctuating in this range, I'm happy!
4/9 - 179.4 Couldn't sleep, so I did my weigh in at 3:40 am
4/10 - 180.0 I'm fighting off a cold, and I tend to overeat comfort food (aka junk) when I'm sick. I'm really trying not to go down that path this time around. I was about 170 cals over yesterday, which I'm okay with. Also ate way too much sodium (chicken noodle soup) so feel bloated today. Just trying to fight off this cold because I don't want to use my PTO on sick days!
4/11 - 179.4 Still not feeling great--might be the seasonal allergies I was recently diagnosed with, ugh. I haven't exercised for a couple of days but I will be going to my second pilates class tonight after work.
4/12 - 179.4 Holding steady. I really feel like whatever cold or sickness I have been fighting off is winning today. Stuffy head and no energy. I feel really good about doing Pilates last night and I have already planned for a somewhat healthy lunch option (chicken and rice soup) to fend off the comfort eating I might want to do.
4/13 - 180.0 Meh. Home sick today. The sickness won. I'm just trying not to eat the piles of carbs that sound so good to me when I'm sick.

This round: 130.5 130.9999 anything under 131!
Day/Weight/Comment
4/8- 131.8- lowest I've weighed in in a while! Ran 8 miles, helped in-laws move, and did yard work, so it was a super active day. Meal prepped a smoked salmon quiche for my lunches this week.
4/9- 132.4- not surprised to see this fluctuation despite a healthy, active weekend... it's water-retaining time of the month for me, so I'll be carrying a little extra around until about Saturday
4/10- 132.2- I'm pleased with this. Planning to run four miles at lunch today. Had a work happy hour in the evening and didn't drink anything and just had some hummus and veggies. Avoided the office candy bowl all day!
4/12- 132.4- Not surprised... feeling very bloated, but I know things will normalize soon. I have a meeting at lunch, so I won't be able to work out, but I will squeeze it in after work.
4/13- 131.8- heading back down! I'm going to run four miles at lunch and try to keep away from the office candy bowl again.
4/14- 131.6- Was hoping for a bigger drop, but I'll take what I can get! A little worried about this weekend... I'm making a cake for my father-in-law's birthday and we'll be eating out twice. I will be running 9 miles and doing yard work though, so I'll be very active, but, I still have to try to not eat half a cake since the leftovers will likely stay at my house. I'll take whatever is left to work on Monday, but it is hard to ignore the devil on my shoulder saying, you ran 9 miles yesterday, you deserve this!

Once more into the fray.... I've decided to start including my average calories for the round with my end weight so I can really get a sense of what works. I do keep my macros pretty steady, but calories fluctuate and the average matters more than daily in my experience. I'm interested to see that although I exceeded my calorie goal during the last round and my weight jumped around a bit, I finished pretty much where I started. So maybe my TDEE is higher than I think and in theory I could eat a little more than I thought and still lose. We shall see. Glad to be back - thanks for being here for support & inspiration!

After I posted yesterday, I decided to go a step farther for a longer view, so I averaged my daily calories for the past 30 days, during which my weight has been pretty steadily within half a pound of 149.5. Although my daily calories fluctuated from ~1400-2000, the average was 1549, which is 1 cal away from where I have put my TDEE for a while now (with minimal exercise). I really like having this data, and I'm since I do not want to cut my calories any more (metabolism & hunger), I'm happy holding steady here until I do get back to my typical activity level (soon!). It's easy to get wrapped up with the day-to-day and forget that reaching and maintaining a healthy weight is a long-term project - a lifestyle. Don't now if this helps anyone else, but it helps me a lot.
4/9 - 150.8
Eeek! But not a surprise - I had a major blow out yesterday. I knew what I was doing and did it anyway - I've been lusting after a pastry and some other things I don't usually eat, so I did it. And it's fine. Back on the wagon today with healthful food and lots to do.
4/10 - 150
A smidge better. I ate properly yesterday, still fending off my big splurge. Going out for lunch, but I'll be good.
4/11 - 150
Not much to say about this. I've really had the munchies lately. I'm not exceeding my average calories by much, but enough obviously to show up on the scale. OTOH, my sodium was high yesterday, so there's that. Jeans still fit!
4/12 - 150
The good news is that the house hunt is over! Yay! Even with the impending (short distance) move in May, this should reduce my stress level considerably and we should be able to stick to a more regular schedule of eating at home. Yay!
4/13 - 151
WHAT? Still delayed reaction? Or the grilled cheese I had for lunch dinner? (Still well within my calories.) Bummer.

4/9 (Monday) - 211.6 (209lbs 3 hours later? This was not a fluke. I weighed myself 2 more times afterwards.)
4/10 (Tuesday) - 211.4 - Ahh, but today.... whatever. Keep calm and keto on? Yep. It has been almost 3 weeks since I've had a full gallon of water or close to it each day. I know that is the culprit. I usually have no problem drinking water and can easily drink a gallon a day, but I also occasionally have a brief period of not being able to drink past 60 to 64 ounces in a day. Don't know what that is about.
4/11 (Wednesday) - 210 - Apparently, the water within me loves to tease. This morning 4 different weigh ins, 1 minute apart, my readings were, 203 (yeah, that was first, I had to laugh), 206, 210 and 210.4. so, I averaged them and came up with 207.4. That could be my weight,

4/11-251- too much salt for dinner last night increasing my water today
4/12-250-did better yesterday but too many bites of little guy's leftovers, will do better today!

SW(R37) 311.6 GW (R37) 308.0
4/8- 311.6
4/9- 309.2 (-2.4) (good Sunday for tracking, kept calories down for weigh in with my doctor this morning -- good motivation. Need to continue solid tracking and increasing cardio and weightlifting for the next nine days.)
4/10- 307.6 (-4.0) (likely this is water weight gain and now loss going into the start on 4/8 for this round -- trying to focus on being under 300 as my next mini goal on the long journey to one-derland. Long journey but day by day and 10 days by 10 days)
4/11- 306.0 (-5.6) (amazing what a little tracking and cardio can do. I'm sure this is still losing water weight from a run up to 311 but I'll take it for sure (or my scale is broken). Feels good to be in sight of 299. More tracking today.)
4/12- 307.4 (-4.2) (ok, this is when I normally get frustrated and throw my hands up with the scale showing an increase. However, there are five more days, I'm down 4.2 pounds in five days and I'm not going to quit because I know where quitting will take me. And I know the likely cause -- kid's choose dinner night last night -- they chose pizza. My kryptonite. Log it, track it, admit it and move on.)
4/13- 307.4 (-4.2) (a little stress at work and instead of eating the whole vending machine I had carrots and hummus. Not nearly as tasty as some chocolate but I was happy I didn't sabotage myself and then throw the day away. Four more days -- would like to get to 305.0 even. Some work to do but short term goal is in sight)

Alrighty y'all I'm jumping in a day late since we just returned from our trip to Germany! Beer + sausages+ German bread = 5lbs! let's see how fast I can get rid of it.

4/10 181.4 looks good, except I got used to eating lots of big portions over the past 10 days so my belly is hungry! probably need to check out the "volume eaters" group here on MFP, lol. Still 3.0 lbs up from prevacation weight.
4/11 180.2 ate well yesterday. Tightening up even more today, gotta make it a habit again so I don't need motivation or as much self control to resist challenges. Need to drink all my water today as well!
4/12 180.8 had a salty dinner, an hour of cardio, and an Aperol spritz (or 2) last night. I went over my calories just a bit, having a better day today!
4/13 182.0 I feel certain this is a sodium bump bc we had Mexican take out last night. I still came in at 1500 cals though, only had 6 chips and half a burrito for dinner. Hoping the trend will resume tomorrow.

4/8 – 194lbs. 700 calories under food goal.
4/9 – 195lbs – still good considering its Monday. Birthday party tonight at local pub that cooks a mean bacon, ham, cheeseburger and the best fried mushrooms. Better have a skip lunch to have room for the 1300 calorie dinner
4/10 195lbs – I so wanted the steak buffet. Oh well the wife promised this weekend when kids might be able to make it. Had awesome 1600 calorie burger and mushrooms. Then did cardio for over an hour. Way to many birthday cocktails.
4/11 – 196lbs up 1 pound. I think it’s the snacks late last night at Spanish class.
4/12 – 192lbs - I have no idea why. Maybe the workout on Monday. Maybe 600 calorie food deficit yesterday?
4/13 – 194lbs – nothing but cucumbers until dinner at the steak buffet tonight. I am doing cardio today to balance out the 3 pounds of meat I am planning on having.

4/8 -334.6 - This is a back up to past the starting point again. Plan on sticking to the plan more closely. It's been a rough few days making this number not all that surprising. I hope by sticking to the plan I'll ditch the water weight at least.
4/9 - 328.2 - Back on target for eating habits. I haven't gotten back into a routine of exercise, yet, due to the weakness and fatigue caused by my medications. I will keep trying to find the sweet spot in my day to get a good workout.
4/10 - 326.0 - Happy to see it still moving in the right direction. Still sticking to the diet and exercise plan, admittingly not really getting much in the way of exercise, working on it.
4/12 - 328.8 - Big jump from a day of not eating quite right. It's amazing the flutuations at this level.
4/13 - 331.2 - Had a bunch of Chinese food last night, so lots of water retention, some actual weight gain as my calorie level was over 3,000, but that's not enough to equate to 2.5 pounds of weight. Getting back on track today by skipping the trip to George's (it's a restaurant). Still at a net loss for the month and fully intending to have it go down again tomorrow and going forward.

Warning- this is depressing. Death mention
Finally admitted to myself that I'm Grief eating. It's mostly unconscious, and I've been keeping myself distracted and busy, but I was at the visitation for my uncle today and I realized what was happening with my eating habits. My Grandpa passed away in Feb right after I decided to get in shape and it took me two weeks to get back on track with my search for a gym membership.
Anyway. My uncle's funeral is tomorrow. I kinda wish I was the type who ate less when stressed/depressed.
I'm so sorry you're going through this. We're in it together, as I am struggling with several deaths in my family. Hugs to you, and let's just be good to ourselves, pick ourselves up when we fall, and lean on each other when we can!4 -

4/8 139.7 I'm super happy I finally broke 140 this morning. I'm enjoying my fasting routine but slipped up with self control a couple of days last week. Today I get to eat from 10 am to 8 pm. Then I'll start another fasting phase. I'm starting to see some weight loss changes in my body.
4/9 141.9 I ate a lot of carbs yesterday so I'm not surprised to see this gain. Have to be better about watching what I eat today. I can only have lunch and dinner today. Lunch is 450 cal so I can have somewhat of a decent dinner later and still be under my calorie limit today.
4/10 141.5 I'm down a little but still not happy about my weight this week.
4/11 141.2 I'm steadily lossing a little. I'm craving sweets bad recently.
4/12 141.4 back up a little today. We ended up having dinner at a friend's so I think I over ate just a bit. I need to figure something out so I can loss the weight I need before the wedding.
4/13 139.6 I don't know why I dropped almost 2 pounds in a day but I'm so happy I did. I'm hoping I'll stay out of the 140's for good now.

4/8 219.6 here we go…..
4/9 219.0 Woo hoo! Like Sparx above me said...it's going to be a great week! Day 6 for me back on mfp after a 2+ year absence. Feeling positive and determined. I can do this!
4/10 219.1 Still going strong. Paying attention to what and how much I eat and no mindless snacking. Haven’t touched the Girl Scout cookies yet, lol. Got back into some exercising yesterday.
4/11 216.6 Big drop…..but I knew it was coming since this is only day 9 for me back to counting calories, and back on MFP. Now to keep up the momentum.
4/12 217.0 Up just a smidge from the big drop. No problem. Still doing great.

4/8 - 168.2 - Had a girls night last night and while it was extremely fun, I took in a lot of calories through mixed drinks. I kept my dinner healthy but expecting an increase in tomorrows weigh in. Would love to make my goal for this round as I didn't last round so lots of water starting today, health food chooses and lots of gym time.
4/9 - 170.0 - There's the increase I was expecting to see. Woke up with migraine this morning, hoping it'll be gone by this afternoon so I can hit the gym after work. Feel like I've been stuck around this 167-170 weight forever and starting to feel discouraged but I won't give up, just got to keep myself motivated.
4/10 - 170.0 - Still have the migraine and not feeling well this morning. Wasn't expecting for a good weigh in this morning but the scale not going up is a win in my book. Wish I could get down to the weight I started round 36 at and never see 170 again. Will work out after work today and hopefully see a good weigh in tomorrow. Healthy packed lunch, lots of water, gym and healthy home cooked meal for dinner tonight is the plan.
4/11 - 169.0 - Glad to see the scale going in the right direction. Had a very busy day yesterday but was able to still eat healthy and fit in some time at the gym. Work hours are changing for today because of some meetings so will need to figure out when I can fit in some exercise today so I can keep on track for the next few days and make my goal for this round.
4/12 - 169.0 - Happy with this weigh in, I wasn't able to work out as much as I would have liked yesterday so I'm relieved to not see 170 again. Back to a normal schedule today so fingers crossed I'll see 168 tomorrow.
4/13 - 167.2 - whooo-hooo!!! Hopefully this weight stays. Weighed myself 3 times just to make sure it was right. Wasn't expecting such a big drop today so even if I go up a little tomorrow I'll still be happy. Excited to see this number though and it's much needed motivation to not sabotage it by just eating whatever and not exercising this weekend. Didn't think I'd make my goal this round but seeing this number today makes me think that if I just continue with the hard work I've put in so far I'll be able to do it.

This is Round 10 for me. I had a rough end of Round 9, but there are things to look forward to. I'm officially going to start a keto WOE on Monday, 4/16, and I'm going to work on cutting down my carbs significantly before then (to get myself in the mood).

Day/Weight/Comment
4/8 = 207.0 (-0.4). Played basketball yesterday, but had parents over and took them out to dinner to my favorite Mexican place. At least weight is heading in the proper direction.
4/9 = 205.4 (-1.6). BOUNCE BACK™. I had a good day eating yesterday, topped off by my favorite salad from a relatively healthy restaurant. Went grocery shopping for the week and tried to look around for some easy ready-made stuff that will work in a pinch when I start keto next week, and was able to find a couple of things (which was nice). My wife and I started our SL 5x5 last night, and I only wanted to spank her once or twice as she argued with me regarding a program I have done extensive research on (and that she knows NOTHING about). We got through it. I'm really happy to see my weight headed back down relatively quickly. As much as I know big spikes in weight are very temporary (as long as I'm being accountable and generally staying the course), it still sometimes feels traumatizing to see them. I'm going to begin to cut down on my carbs and stay away from all sweets this week (except my birthday on Saturday) in preparation for my new lifestyle.
4/10 = 204.2 (-1.2). Another BOUNCE BACK™. After freaking out 3 days ago (gaining 5 lbs in 2 days), it's nice to have again the experience of noticing things going back to normal as the days pass. Just about down to my SW from last round, and I couldn't ask for anything more at this point. I ate pretty well yesterday (slightly under maintenance), but I had a sugar binge (500 calories or so). I'm officially throwing out my remaining candy when I get home tonight. It's the Devil. I'll have a bit of my birthday cake on Saturday, but that's it for sweets for the foreseeable future. I need to figure out some Keto stuff on the subject of sweets (whether to subtract from total carbs fiber and sugar alcohols), but I think I'm generally just going to avoid them at this point, unless I learn something amazing. I need to get my taxes done, and I have some things from work that I need to accomplish at home, so I'm going to focus on that for the next couple of days (at the expense of exercise). I'll get back to the exercise on Thursday (SL 5x5 and my normal basketball night).
4/11 = 202.6 (-1.6). ANOTHER BOUNCE BACK™! This is just getting silly now, but I love it. And if I'm being honest and objective about this, what's happening right now fits a clear pattern that's been well-established by me and others here. For me - one bad meal takes 4-5 days to recover from. 4 days later, I'm just about recovered. Yesterday was great eating-wise. I was under calories, and no sugar binge. Taxes just about done. Basketball tomorrow, plus day 2 of SL 5x5. I miss exercise.
4/12 = 203.4 (+0.8). This feels likely a normal fluctuation, even if it's on the slightly extreme side. I was under maintenance yesterday, though salt intake was a little high. I have basketball and SL 5x5 tonight, and I'm going to make this a GREAT eating day. All the candy in my home had been eliminated (by my mouth). Still trying to cut down on carbs in preparation for my new Keto lifestyle (starting Monday).
4/13 = 201 (-2.4). WHOOSH™. The circle is complete. I'm a pound lower than I've been since I joined this group. This happens, of course, on the day before my birthday. I'm going to try my best to keep it under control tomorrow. ONEDERLAND is so close I can taste it. Food was great yesterday. Basketball was amazing, too. Drank 21.5 cups of water. No complaints today!

Welcome @curious_kiris! Sounds as if you are prepared!
@lydlou02 I’m sorry for your losses. I had a similar problem about 25 years ago when we had 9 family deaths in 9 months. I did a depression self assessment and finally had to address it with my MD. Take care of you. Sending prayers.
@minstrelofsarcasm You ARE still DOWN over 2# in a week. You’ve got this!
@brw828 I think I would give the cake away and not even be tempted by it. But that’s me.
@mlhopp93 Boar’s Head now makes Chocolate hummus. Hummus people seem to think it is great.6
