High School? Damn. Does this mean I have to have Eminem hair and glasses again? And no prom date?
    Apparently, I'm everyone's date,

Since it's HS, does that mean if you turn me down I have to tell everyone you're a slut?
    I think so.

Good job everyone... She deactivated... Feel free to talk amongst yourselves, which you seem to be good at...

Dont worry, I'm sure she's just deleting that account and opening a new one with a fresh start. She wouldn't be the first.

Positivity is also key to a healthy and happy lifestyle! :D
Positivity lies in the person though. Someone can inspire positivity to another as much as they want, but if the person receiving it is basically a negative person, it won't matter.
And a truly positive person ISN'T affected by the negative people around them.

Guys. I'm not trying to complain. Sorry if you've heard this elsewhere or if its always been this way. I'm trying to make a point and most of you are confirming it. I've done nothing but read negative comments on peoples posts about the dumbest stuff. If someone is asking for help or has question of course give your honest opinion but why tear into someone over something silly that they wanted to share. If you're sick of reading posts like this I have a solution... DON'T CLICK ON IT.
When someone posts advice or a strategy for losing weight that your own experience and/or research says is wrong and/or dangerous, how would you suggest that we MFPers respond to said post without any negativity or ignoring the post (thereby passively promoting bad advice), OP?

It always was high school. And I can't believe anyone uses this site for any kind of community building- the format alone makes that virtually impossible unless you spend outrageous amounts of time checking on things you've posted to see if anyone responded.

I've been on forums and boards for 10+ years and I've noticed that there are often surges of bad behavior and then mellows again as certain people find something better to do with their lives. Now mind you I don't really pay too much attention to MFP's bad behavior specialists. Just have to completely ignore them and they will get board and move on. the more attention the more time they will spend on here.

Sooooooo deactivating is the non-high school mature solution? Gotcha.

I still havent seen anywhere in this thread where someone "tore into" anyone else. I mean, that dog didnt even bit into that piece of pizza.

One solution, I've found quite effective is to avoid the forums altogether. Or at least the ones with titles most likely to get snarky responses.. . you know the 1200 calorie ones, the I quit I give up ones. . .those sorts. Build a base of friends and then stay off the forums. Works like a charm. Otherwise, you will find that MFP is much like everywhere else in life. . .someone is always looking to belitte someone else or be the cool kid. Just the way we seem to like to interact although many of us claim not to.

Very true- If i stick to my friends feeds no drama, on the forum, yes drama like there is in every forum, there are always people that will not be supportive or be taken as rude. I don't visit these forums every day, it would drive me batty. ;)

An electron and a proton go into a bar
"what'll you have?" asks the electron
"I'll have a baileys with lemonade"
    "Are you sure?"asks the electron
    "Yes I'm positive!"

I think this is the negativity the OP was talking about. You made her deactivate. I hope you are proud of yourself.
