May Self-Care Challenge

Had breakfast outside again this morning. Everything tasted even better, I savored my food more, and I could feel myself relaxing more fully.
I had been thinking I had to think of a new self-care each day! LOL But I’m going to stick with this one for awhile to cement it as a habit

I'd love to echo that big thank you to twyla for starting this thread. Congratulations to you, rheddmobile, for healing well and getting back to the running trails. The going-outside-every-morning idea was inspiring to me, too, as it was for MadisonMolly. And, like Orphia, I've enjoyed relaxing by reading this thread. There are probably a few more people who deserve a shout-out, but please know I'm enjoying this entire community of thread participants, although my own self-care (and self-care input) has been less than consistent.
In the meantime, just to keep track, I will share that on Monday I went with a friend up a steep hiking trail (and back down). We walked (and occasionally talked) in the trees for six hours.6 -
Walked in the woods before. Just listening to nature. Meditated for 30 minutes. Am exhausted today from work, so I am letting myself be lazy this evening.3

big time splurged on a hair cut / colour tonight! it’s been a long time since i got my hair professionally colored, so i went a little lighter for summer! more than i’d normally spend, but i think it’s worth it every now & then!3

Winter starts tomorrow here in Australia. Haven't bought any nice new clothes since summer.
Today I bought myself a super-long, mustard-yellow, knitted scarf.3 -
And I like it so much here's a pic.

@Orphia great scarf!
It's getting painfully hot here - usually we don't get really hot weather until July! Ran trails this morning - as mentioned earlier, I was nervous about all the snakes on the Greenline so we drove out to the suburbs to a different park and ran there, and... saw a snake. That's four snakes in four runs. At least this guy was only a small garter snake, and the trails are clear enough that we could easily see anything in the path and avoid it.
We walked after our run, and I noticed a bird which seemed to be flying oddly, so I took a closer look at it, and it was an odd bird altogether - sort of pinky brown and unusually scruffy looking - I was trying to place it when a bright red cardinal flew up and popped a bite in its mouth. Oh! It was a fledgling cardinal out for its first flight, that explained everything. It was nice seeing papa bird follow his child along and encourage him, like a dad with a kid with a learner's permit.7 -
Had my hair done yesterday morning. Called my BF caught up with her, we missed our weekly get together, maybe next week. Took my son to football practice, meet a new friend and caught up with a old friend and walked 3 miles around the track. New recipe for supper, Fried Catfish, from Simply Recipes.4

Is there a June thread?
I went to the library today and signed up for the summer reading program. Adults can do that, too. I got a coupon for an ice cream cone. I cant wait to start reading and logging my minutes. Takes me back to the times I spent in the library as a child and taking my own children there. It's a magical place.3 -
Yes, there is!!1
