27th April: 117.5lbs
4th May: 118.7lbs (Bingeing starting to show up on my scale and belly roll.)
Successes of the week: Good workouts. Good week at job.
Challenges of the week: Mindful eating is very hard right now. Mindful _anything_ is very hard right now. The minute I get home from work, I start eating. I think I have fallen into an old pattern of creating a food problem to obsess over so I don't have to deal with the far more serious problems like the financial ones.

Successes/struggles of the week: Generally a bit frustrated with lots of stuff and finding it a real battle not to eat my emotions. But evidently I’ve gone too far in trying to prevent it as I’ve hit a new low with a BMI that is now underweight. Think maybe it was just dehydration but obviously I need to be careful as - to be completely truthful - there is still a small thrill associated with a scale drop and conversely a negative emotion attached to a gain. Time to work on my “healthy” mindset...6 -

" to be completely truthful - there is still a small thrill associated with a scale drop and conversely a negative emotion attached to a gain."
I struggle with this as well. It's nice to know that there are others who understand that. I have been slightly under my range, though not underweight, all year. The last couple of weeks I have gained a pound and am now at the bottom of my range and I can't help but be a little disappointed even though I know I am right where I should be.6 -
@Faebert Same issues here. I have binge-gained a couple of pounds back. I hate seeing my stomach roll filling out, but I have to admit that my face looks better.1

Thanks @kgirlhart and @CoachJen71 for your words. Nice to know I’m not the only one. Best wishes to you both. X1

Successes/struggles of the week: About 2 weeks out now from Tough Mudder Philly - I have to admit that the training makes me feel like a total bad*ss. Tomorrow’s plan is to run 10 miles, stopping every .5 miles to do 10 push ups and 10 squats - totaling 200 of each. That will be the last big hurrah before the event... from there, I’ll start my taper, swapping over to cycling to prep for a 100 mile charity bike ride in June.
I am seeing the positive effects of my training - check it out! Below is a photo comparison of me at 118 lbs in June 2017 versus me this morning at 124 lbs. Might be an encouraging photo for the current theme of this thread - don’t be scared to weigh more! You have the power to shape how the extra weight looks on you!
18 -
@sofchak wow! Truly impressive comparison pic. I’ve seen them before where the person looks better at a higher weight. I’m kind of unsure how to go about it though. Had a dexa scan a couple of weeks back and body fat % was good at 15.9% and muscle mass also better than average for my age weight etc. So it’s not really that I’m skinny fat or that I need to recomp I don’t think?? Maybe just gain a few pounds but I wish I could be sure it would make me look and feel better!
Also - v jealous of your tough mudder! It’s on my list...0 -

Success/struggles of the week: well it’s my birthday so I’m obviously treating myself this weekend lol. Getting all my free things from different places. I’m pretty happy today because I uploaded a new pic to my “progress” section on mfp and compared it to before I started lifting weights consistently 9 weeks ago, and even to my picture from 2 weeks ago and I can definitely see a small difference, and my weight is exactly the same. Actually I weigh 4lbs MORE than my “before” pic which was taken back in October. And my stomach area definitely looks a little less fluffy.4 -

Success/struggles of the week: My struggles so far haven't been a lot.. sort of. I'm having foot and knee pain from worn-out running shoes. I'm planning on buying some new quality ones with a fitted sole to help with that, currently taking Epsom salt baths after workouts. The emotional struggle has been strong, I'm going through a lot and depression doesn't seem to be getting better.
Success has been awesome! I'm not nearly snacking as much as I used to at night, and have found that more protein and fat is the key to not wanting to binge on a certain food. I've upped my mileage when running and my body is almost fully accumulated to the change. I've also switched up my pilates a bit, choosing different core and arm workouts.

Successes/Struggles. This weight- barely within BMI normal looks good on me but weight fluctuations which bring me over the BMI line are messing with my head. Might go back on diet level calories (1200) for month of June and see If I can bring down the weight to less than 140 - that way the invisible and irrelevant BMI line doesn’t mess with my head.
Otherwise, still unhappy with my pitifully low maintenance calories, and feel like I’m just in a lifetime perpetual weight loss diet without the scale lowering. Basically it sucks, and I feel guilty when I relax a couple of days and that guilt makes me feel like a fat slob if that invisible BMI line is crossed.
Kvetch and whine. I’m trying very hard to keep the kvetching and whining limited to this once weekly post, so please forgive.10 -

Success/struggles of the week: Since vacation is over, back at home with work stress but some healing in family struggles that have plagued me, I have been hitting the sugar really hard and eating over my maintenance calories. Sometimes once the "pressure" is off I have this difficulty maintaining discipline in the day to day. Working on the mental/emotional causes of this.6 -

Success/struggles of the week:
I’ve hit my 2nd year of maintenance but I’m not proud of my current position. I shouldn’t dwell on the number showing on the scale anymore, yet I still am. Well at least all my clothes still fit so I guess that’s something.
This month I am going to make an effort to focus on only the positive side of things. My motto for this week is “I believe so I can achieve”!!!!!! (I *WILL* achieve) I’ve been using MFP for 3 years now so I think I’ve got the tools and experience needed.
Also @sofchak inspirational or what!!! I think that’s what I’m hoping my clothes are telling me^^^^ “not to focus on numbers alone”.8 -

Success/struggles of the week: all seems good with maintenance. It's have been a year and a half, getting used to fluctuations. Happy to be where i am, but... I'm a bit more wrinkly that i would like to be and It has been bothering me. For instance, my arms are muscular and veiny, which i love, but also have those pesky wrinkles that I don't love at all. I feel that I'm too young for it and yet there's nothing i can do. And it's not just my arms. On the plus side, i have been better at moderating my snacks, including nuts, that i find the hardest for me to control.7 -

Success/struggles of the week: I seem to be successfully maintaining my weight, so that is good. My biggest struggle the last couple of weeks was that my weight was up some after my birthday and even though I knew that not only was it most likely just water fluctuations, even up a little was a good weight for me. Sometimes it is just hard to get rid of the mindset that says you need to be going down all the time. My trend actually was up to 120.something last week, but that was still at the bottom of my range so it was nothing to worry about. But knowing it is nothing to worry about and actually not worrying about it are two different things.8 -

Success/struggles of the week: Just got back from a week long vacation. Didn't gain any weight while on vacation, but went up 4 lbs during the 1st week back?!?! Working to get that under control. Being relatively new in maintenance, I struggle with recognizing the difference between actual hunger, and just wanting to eat. I'm also trying to be more consistent with exercise.5 -

Lenie, you and me both!! See my similar post a few above yours ... I think it has to do with the relief of stress after a lovely, very active, but at times stressful vacation ... Kindof like a kid seeing their mom after day care and suddenly bursting into tears ... or maybe it's that the thing I had been both dreading and anticipating is done, and now it's back to the different and rather serious stress of work ...
Keep reporting here, let's do this maintenance thing!1 -

Well, I'm back in range after being slightly over last month. My eating is just okay -- not as healthy as it should be, though. I have my one year goal weight anniversary at the end of the month, and I want to make sure I am well in-range for that. Hopefully, that will motivate me to stay on-track.
All of a sudden, I just don't feel like tracking my food anymore. I have done it for so long without any issues, but it seems like a real chore now. I think I took on too much in other areas of my life, and now I can't give enough time and energy to maintenance, meal planning, and tracking. After this month, I'm going to slim down my commitments and put my attention back on ... myself!

Success/struggles of the week: Transitioning from running in the afternoon when I get up (I work nights) to running in the morning when I get off work. The Phoenix area is heating up with afternoon temps hitting the 100' s and coyotes are more active in the am around sunrise. I like running at this time though as traffic is lower where I live as the snowbirds have gone back up north for the summer.
My eating plan is going well except for Sundays as that is the day I tend to struggle with staying on plan. This past Sunday was better than the previous few.8 -

Success/struggles of the week: Just a busy time of year -- I teach college and it's end of semester stress, lots of retirement parties to attend (we're pealing off! Not me yet! lol!) and so much food -- in offices, in hallways, in classrooms -- everyone has danish and bagels and donuts EVERY MORNING! We are TERRIBLE breakfast eaters in this country! I have a few Japanese students and they eat rice and fish in the morning. We eat sugar. So far I've been resisting...I truly hate the feeling in my stomach now after I eat sugary stuff. Give me the breakfast fish!!

Success of the week, last week, 47000 steps. (I know that's not a lot for many/most of you guys but it's better than nothing. I had one day with18,000 steps (walking around museum and walking friend from out of town around).
Struggles: I didn't track much, nor get that much intense aerobic exercise.
Success this week: went to the pool yesterday for lap swim. I only swam 500 meters and not 1 km like last time. And didn't have horrible shoulder pain I had last time; had no pain this time, so I can go back. I used to be an avid swimmer, but was rusty, when I did the 1K and didn't feel it till next days. Tracked yesterday.8 -

Successes/struggles of the week: Still on the low side weight wise but I’m eating fairly well. Just very busy so need to figure out a way to eat more (in a controlled way) because I don’t really want to drop activity. That said, morning workouts have been a challenge due to my kitten who seems to have a death wish. Makes it much harder when he runs underneath me as I do push ups, tries to catch my feet in jumping lunges, leaps on my hair as my head goes up and down in ab exercises etc. Workout goals now including not squashing the cat...
Hope everyone has had a good week - happy Friday! X8 -

11th May: 119lbs (Managed to bank and eat low sodium for a few days for Mother's Day, so weight is actually higher. I may just learn to accept my pot belly since my face looks haggard under 120.)
Successes of the week: Did my workouts, some stronger than others, but I still have to give myself credit for dragging my butt out of bed at 3:30am five days a week for strength training, get steps at school, take a walk when I get home, and try at least a couple of times per week to do deep stretching. I may be struggling with the binges, but this shows I haven't given up!!
Challenges of the week: Still trying to get back to mindful eating. There is definitely a set of recurring triggers: GERD fake hunger, anxiety, and procrastination guilt. No wonder it shows up strongly in the evening after work and on any days I am home all day. (I hate housework, but feel guilty for ignoring it. Someone needs to invent self-cleaning homes! LOL)
