Well done @Avidkeo - smashed it!!!

Welcome @mjone1997 - the only problem you’ll have getting to know people in this thread is in keeping up with it!!! Walk away for more than 24 hours and there’ll be three pages of catch up good stuff going on!

i wish she was. she is fear driven. you could put a hot dog or cheese in her mouth and she will spit it out if she anxious. she goes from ok to shut down in 0 sec flat.
the running calms her down and gives her confidence but she won't run on her own either so i can't get her to exercise on her own before. and soon as we turn to home we go from 11:20ish to 9:50ish. HOME!!! so i have at least .2mi of pulling
i'll have to continue with the training. she is way too sneaky for a head halter which is how i originally trained my old lady to run when she was younger.
suprisingly, the border terrier i'm fostering is the worst

My sister-in-law has a border terrier. Fabulous dogs.

@lporter007 wrote @cburke8909- Congrats on meeting your 5K goal!! I think you are my running twin. If I remember right, didn't you recently run a half marathon PR in just under 1:40? (sorry if I have you confused with someone else) My HM PR is 1:39:56 and my 5K is 21:57. Of course, I ran that 5K in March when it was nice and cold out. My most recent evening 5K in sweltering evening heat was a full minute and a half slower, so maybe we are not running twins after all ;) Great job!!!
You are correct, it looks like we are running mirrors of each other.
@PastorVincent "323rd mile" ever wonder how autocorrect works. It is a great "smart"phone feature. 😉 😀

So I did something crazy. Normally I run alone and I am very much an introvert (hard to believe when you see me online, I know). But I agreed tentatively, assuming I can get the time off from work, to do a trail Ragnar with a team of other diabetics in October. The most crazy thing is that I found this on a Facebook group and I have never met any of the others before. The distance for each runner is pretty short (about 15.5 miles total spread across 3 legs), but it should be interesting.

I regularly run in to the " double mint twins". One said "hi". I ignored her. I heard her say "I'm going to quit being friendly". I thought "freakin' finally." I'm alone i like being alone I'm here alone to stay alone.... Me. Alone. No yap yap. Hahaha! But like you, here. I'm in control of the conversation and tend to be able to indulge the closet extrovert. Ooop. Gotta go.. phones about to die.

Lol...me too. As much as I hate winter, I prefer running in frigid temps.

Whenever I think that it's too damn hot, I remember running in this at 9 degrees F, and then I STFU... lol
    x5rpxdmjrigk.jpg

That looks amazing! Probably because I never have to run in it - LOL. It never gets cold enough to snow in Texas (at least the part of Texas I live in). If it even threatens to ice over the whole state shuts down in panic.

I have never run when fluffy wet stuff is falling from the sky. I wouldn't even know how...

Woohoo you. That's a fab effort. And look at that beautiful day (and scenery). No one will believe it's the middle of winter where you are!! We've just got more grey and drizzle.

    Running challenge
1 July: 5.30 at 5:09 pace (race pace)
    2 July: yoga
    3 July: 7.01 at 5:45 pace
    4 July: yoga
5 July: 12.66 at 5:50 pace (“unproductive" according to Garmin)
    6 July: rest
    7 July: yoga
8 July: 15.2 at 6:01 (slow and steady)
    9 July: yoga
10 July: 6.0 at 6:02 pace (probably faster but I had a child on a bike in tow who kept needing a push - I certainly had to work harder) plus another 1.8km at about the same pace with similar issues getting the younger daughter to kindy.
    11 July: yoga
12 July: 10.71 at 5:25 pace - when you’re short on time but you want to go long, you gotta go fast.
13 July: rest and pizza (and more pizza)
14 July: sneaky 6.7km at 5.55 pace to undo some of last night’s pizza damage followed by yoga. Great way to start a Saturday.

    65.38 of 150km for July

Re chafing prevention: I use Glide for underarm, 2Toms Sportshield for areas south of the border (roll-on means it's much easier to apply than a stick), and NipEaze for nipple protection. This combination allows me to run in the sweatiest of humid conditions for miles on end, and not scream in the shower afterwards.

I have been considering trying NipEaze but have been hesitant because... unlike @LaDispute57 no band-aid, nor tape stays in place for me. When I have gotten things to stay its cause I used an egregious amount of tape PLUS wore a compression top to help hold it in place.
Everyone's different, but I find the NipEaze to be fantastic. I can usually get two summer 15-milers in, and a couple of showers, before they're starting to come off. I guess for those that have the world's hairiest nipples...y'know like Sasquatch nipple territory, then it might be a good idea to trim a little excess hair before using them.

@Teresa502 Yeah, humidity sucks...yet for some odd reason, I prefer summer running to winter running, despite all the complaining I do.
    @cburke8909 Congrats on your 5K!
@Elise4270 No idea...all I can offer is a virtual hug, but I hope you're able to get it sorted before your race.

Another humid run...I basically become a running puddle these days.

    05 - 13.85
    06 - 15.31
    07 - 13.71
    09 - 15.31
    10 - 13.05
    11 - 15.32
    12 - 13.35
    13 - 15.30

    Total: 115.20 / 250 miles

My husband used thd NipEaze for a bit. No complaints except price and having to remember order them. Then he switched to circle Band-Aids. The Band-Aids sweat off. So i suggested running shirtless. No more nip chaffing. I know that may not be an option for all. (Swear its the only reason i wanna trim down. Shirtless runs).

Thanks for the virtual hug  I'm hoping its bursitis.

@cburke8909 great race report. I too am SUPER competitive with my brother (as we are identical twins you can well imagine). But we love to race together when we can get together. He lives on the other side of the country.

Thank you everyone! @ContraryMaryMary that's one reason I love living here! Just stunning.

I've been quiet because I took the kids for a huge hike through the forest, after the 10k. I'm exhausted!
