Sorry, how many servings per packet?

I'm also irritated by about. Don't tell me that servings per container is about 2 or about 5 or whatever.
Campbell's soup did everything they could to hide the number of calories in a whole can before the new labeling rules made them disclose that. The serving size was by volume but the amount in the can was listed by weight and a can had about 2 servings. I ended up filling an empty can with water so that I could weigh the water to get the volume of the can.
Campbell's soup was gonna be my rant! Who only eats 1/2 of those tiny cans???5 -

I get a bag of plain kernels and pop it in a pan (with oil).
Jolly Time claims one serving is 2 T / 33 grams, but I like 44 grams, which is actually 1/4 C.2 -

This is the one I came to mention. Naan always seems to have half a piece as the serving size and it drives me crazy. Who is cutting that little six-inch round in half?
I like to use them as the base for a quick pizza-type snack for my husband, but I can't bring myself to eat them because 300 calories for a boring piece of bread...nope.
Is this a bad moment to say that I've always had half a naan bread as a portion size? (normal sized, not mini naan obviously) Sometimes we used to rip them into thirds (but only when there was loads of other food and they were big naans)
I have naan more as a main component of a meal, like wrapped around a salad (instead of a tortilla or pita) or as a flatbread with toppings, so half a piece is a sad serving.
If you're just using them to mop up a sauce or something or accompany a meal, then I guess half a piece is reasonable, but I don't really eat bread with meals like that so I don't know.0 -
My ridiculous serving size complaint is with Kellogg's Sugar Frosted Flakes. This product is offered in a wide variety of packages, each of which nutrition label has a different serving size.5

Microwave Popcorn. That should come with an advanced degree to figure out the maths needed to determine 1 serving size.
The package on the stuff I buy says 25 calories per popped cup, and I generally eat an entire bag by myself. I just measure the number of popped cups and multiply by 25. I have no idea if I'm measuring correctly or not, but I haven't got a Phd in Mathematics, so it's the best I can do.5 -
A serving of a prepared round pan cake is 1/9 th of a pan. Who cuts cake into 9 identical wedges and then tops it with 2 tbsps of frosting?6

What about the weight of each serving size? Does Frosted Flakes come it different flavors, that might be a reason.
EDIT: I went to the website, it has the same serving size for the different sizes.

My dad used to cut pizza in to 5 slices. Although there were 5 of us in the household at the time, so I guess that made sense.
And we had more than one slice. Obviously. Because who eats 1/5th.1 -
That sort of stuff is never accurate in terms of portion sizes. I could easily eat a whole pack of that sort of thing to myself!
I look at the weight of the pack and then the info per 100g to assess how many roughly will be in a serving.
Like crisps..."sharing pack" and it's not one of those massive ones, it's just a larger pack, 50-60g. Who's going to share that? We all know most people will just have it to themselves.
30g of cereal as well? It takes 100g just to have a half decent bowl a lot of the time.

Bought a bag of apples the other day and noticed it said "contains approx 8 servings" on the back. There were 6 apples in the bag...in fact there were 6 apples in every bag. What.21

Drink packets is my most recent one. Ya know, the ones intended on dumping the WHOLE thing into a 16oz bottle of water? I read the packet, it read "15 calories" I put it down, and then it occurred to me to check it again. Servings per packet? "about 2" WTF? WHO ONLY USES 1/2 A DRINK PACKET?!?! I know it was only a 15 calorie difference, but feeling misled into believing you consumed X calories to learn later you consumed double is kind of annoying.7

This is true of soda as well, that 16oz bottle of soda is TWO servings. You have to watch carefully0

I really enjoy Whole Food's chicken, feta and spinach sausages. The link is about the size of a hot dog, you would think that was one serving. A person could easily eat two of these.

The first time I read a spaghetti label and realized a "portion" is 2 oz. Measured out 2 oz of it and... DAMN! That's nothing! So basically I had been filling up a bowl of pasta and probably eating like 5 "portions" in every sitting.
Who eats 2 oz of pasta?8 -

I buy these corn chips I like, and the serving size is 30 grams. That sounds reasonable. The kicker is that the package has 35 grams. Are they expecting me to eat 30 grams and leave 5?11

Me too! I'll do the whole block if I'm making it for lunch with some shrimp, but if I'm doing it with chicken thighs and a stir fry, it's perfectly adequate for just half a block.0 -

Corn chips, large packet, only half full but apparently has 6.5 servings per packet? It looked to be around 5-7 chips is one serving.0
