Yep! Plan on bringing my own lunch. I don't think it's going to be a very big deal. I have been doing pretty good and have some lofty goals I plan on completing. There's things I want to do that I don't bother doing because of my weight. That's just silly. My bad choices on nutrition is causing my life to be limited. It's my own fault. I'm done with it. It's bad enough I let myself get as bad as I did and now it's going to take awhile to get where I want to be. But when I get there its going to be so worth it. So many more options in life will be mine for the taking.

@grebber1 I am right there with you. My poor choices ended me up where I am. For me, I need to get moving as well as quitting the unhealthy foods.

I am doing the same thing everyday. Working out at least every other day (mostly everyday) and eating under my goal(at a deficit). I have started working on this hardcore circuit that burns 200 calories for me in just under 15 mins so I’m thinking my muscles are recovering and that’s the slight gain I see. But I feel awesome and know this is not fat gain, so I’m keeping up with the routine I’m in right now. Always need to prioritize getting more sleep though and remember to drink tons of water.

Food for thought:
Why does the fashion industry use "shape wear" models who clearly don't require shape wear?
I want to see what it looks like on non-perfect women in the clothing the shape wear is meant for. ie. will my bra-line be less noticeable or will I have effectively given myself push-up bra back boobs. :noway:6 -

I don't think I'm putting the effort in right now though. I'm probably eating more towards maintenance at least 3 days per week. I'm going to have to go back to restricting calories down to the low 1200's and see if this changes anything.

7/27- 195.0- Good start. Let's keep going! No more eating out. I'm going to plan out everything I'm going to eat tomorrow and follow through since I'm the one making food.
7/28- 194.8- I'm glad it's still going in the right direction. Still doing well. My grandparents are coming over tomorrow and staying for a week so I don't know how that's going to affect this but it shouldn't too much to be honest. We'll see. Still going to stay under.
7/29- 195.0- I drank water before this weigh-in on accident so maybe I'm the same as before? Lol can't be for sure.
7/30- No weigh in. Unfortunately, I didn't have access to my scale since my grandparents are in my room. I'll go take my scale and take it with me to the basement where I'm staying. I might update with a weigh-in later today but otherwise I will just do it tomorrow.
7/31- 193.7- Woohoo! Happy about this weigh-in. Make me feel like I can get to 191.0 by the end of the challenge. Also, I think this is an NSV because yesterday I was very tired and needed to study and wanted to get a coffee in order to stay up a little longer but I'm the type that can't drink coffee unless it has milk and has sugar in it so I knew that would add extra calories that I didn't need since I'd already hit my goal. I decided against it even though I was strongly considering it and even told my brother I'd get a coffee. So had no coffee! But might get one today since I have my exam tomorrow morning! Please wish me luck!

Kind of like weightloss too.
8/03- 194.7- lol what happened. I'm definitely feeling a little bloated so might have something to do with it. Not going to look too much into it. Hopefully it'll go back down by tomorrow. Not letting it discourage me. I did just get done with an intense workout and about to eat a healthy lunch so I think that's good that I'm not letting it get to me like I might have used to. Really hoping for a nice loss before the end of the challenge though. Hopefully it will work out.

Cool on the running! I never thought of doing small goals for fitness too! Makes so much sense!
How is your no eating out going? I've been trying to do the same and I know tonight (my usual take out night) is going to be the hardest!
The small goals are very helpful. Personally, when I'm running I just want to be done- I countdown the seconds and I just can't wait for it to end lol. I figured if I just extend it an extra 10 seconds every time, it's not too much of a crazy stretch so it makes it easier and you still feel a sense of accomplishment. I go to the gym often enough that it adds up quickly so it doesn't take forever to reach a new overarching goal. I really recommend it! It helps me!
The eating out is definitely tricky especially with family members who bring home takeout or other food. I did go to chipotle the other day because I hadn't had the time to prepare a lunch in the morning and skipped breakfast on top of that. But what I'm really proud of is that I've been making really healthy choices when going out. Not getting the calorie-packed tortilla on the side, for example lol. Choosing nonfat milk instead of whole milk. Not eating the whole bun. Things like that. Just little tweaks here and there. I didn't meet the goal though of not going out at all. It's very difficult haha. Maybe I'll try again in the next round. How'd it end up going for you??6 -

Feeling discouraged.. strictly staying under my calorie limit and walking my full 10k a day on 8/1 to give me a boost and trying to avoid the booze and dairy for a bit... and I end up gaining?

8/1 - 178.6 (-7.2 total so far) shocked at the weigh in this morning. I thought I would have a gain as I had a love fest (or feast) with half a package of S’more wafer cookies. I did run just over 3 miles in this Texas heat after work yesterday so who knows. Our bodies are funny things that react in ways we don’t expect at times.
8/2 - 178.6 (-7.2 total so far)- well the water weight seems to have worked itself out! Pleased.

7/26- went for radiation, cut the lawn( big property), took grandchildren to the park, worked out on treadmill, rest.
7/27-walked, yoga, Completed week 5 radiation. I have a health update when I see the doctor All 5 weeks perfect!
7/28- Did not have a good night sleep last night, I hour, 20 mins during the day.( steroids, one more week and then we can start to cut them back, they are making me super hungry, walking helps.
7/29 Had a great day, slept last night, did a lot of walking 112mins. Goal for next week watching my food portions. Steroids are making it really hard for me, one more week and then I can start to cut them in half.
7/30- Had a great day for walking steps. Went for radiation#6 left, and I had to go to the hospital for EEG to test brain for seizures, but I doubt it because I feel fine. I did to much today.
7/31-I feel fantastic, not one symptom since I started radiation completed 25 treatments, down to the last 5, doctors said I would lose my hair after week 2 or 3 -that did not happen. I think because I drink so much water and when I wake up everyday I have an organic bread with avocado. I have been out walking at least 12,000 steps. I am very fortune.
8/1 Only a couple hours sleep last night. Made my meals for tomorrow. Went walking. Since the weekend my steps have been up. 4 more treatments for Radiation. I can't believe it.
8/2 - worked on meal planning for next week. Steps- have been over 10,000 all week. Still not much sleep last night.
8/3- I am so excited, next week Monday is a holiday and then I only have 2 treatments left for Radiation, Tuesday and Wednesday. I finished 28. They were saying today because I kept my regular routine as before I could fight hard, and be symptom free. Means so much for me, when I ring the bell for completion it maybe the first time I see a few tears of happiness!

7/27: 178.8. I won’t lie, this was a late weigh-in, but I’m taking it. I’m still playing nutritional roulette. Why? I know how critical it is for me to get my weight down and my nutrition on point. I’m in my 50s and I can’t afford to keep eating like a 11-year-old let loose in a junk food store. Today, for example, I had a banana in the morning, nothing all day and then a jam sandwich, diet coke and a piece of chocolate that my son bought for me. I’m way low on calories, but not given my body one bit of nutrition. No point in whining though. I’ll just start over right now.

7/29: 178.8. Super lazy weekend. Binge watched an entire two seasons of Queen of the South. I was so absorbed my accent changed to Southern and I could swear like a trooper in Spanish. Feels like I spent the weekend in Mexico and Texas. That being said, no exercise, no effort to eat well, so up we go!!

8/01 179.8 It’s what happens when you eat half of a huge bag of Twizzlers and a bowl of chips. You know, I have to laugh at myself. I spend my life teaching my boys, who are now 20 and 21, the importance of the quality of food you put into your system. I drone on about balanced diets, the evils of excess sugar, the effects of food-like substances on energy levels and sleep patterns. Best part is, they’ve taken it all on board and eat well, exercise daily and have junk food in moderation. I am a great teacher – if only I was a better learner!!!
8/02 179.4 Think I’m going to have to be more consistent with my weigh in times. I’m all over the board and it’s frustrating. I ate way below calories yesterday and did almost 14,000 steps. Was hoping for a slightly bigger drop, but I’ll wait it out. Today is another day to do well.
8/03 178.2 It really does matter what time I weigh. Weighed at three different times, got three different weights. Took the middle ground even though I SO wanted to take the lowest one. @quiltingjaine, thanks for the encouragement and sorry if I’ve been whiny. I am aware that I’ve been whining lately and I need to change my state of mind. I am also determined to get this thing on track. It’s been six rounds and my loss has been painfully slow. Time to pull up my socks and start afresh!!!

I am staying under my calorie goal but am staying closer to it, I am doing slightly better with water intake, However with a night meeting and after work appointment I ate out a bit more than I like. So I’m hoping to cook at home all this week. Just back from my Saturday morning Aquafit class.

7/28 135.0 @0500 I have been craving burnt ends from a local BBQ place. I forgot to tell them no sauce. I think this has dropped me out of nutritional ketosis. Color me sad. Why would you slather sauce on meat that has been dry rubbed and smoked and tasted awesome? The sauce is awful!
7/29 134.5 Ate well yesterday but wanted “something.” I haven’t had one of those days sine I started keto over a year ago. Finally got a fat bomb out of the freezer and all was well. I’m curious about where everyone is and what your high temperatures are. I live in the desert SW - Las Vegas, and the temperature this morning at 5:30AM was 91*F with anticipated high of only 109 today.

29/07: 167.8 : Goals ✅ posting this late today. Sundays always seem to lead to a little upward bounce. I visit family and Hubster produced a delicious roast beef dinner tonight. Still under goal, and drinking lots of water, but past expectation leads me to expect the worst tomorrow morning.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

Gained so much weight, I'm upset but still motivated. I woke up early (6.00 am) and walked 3.1 km (4300 steps). The breakfast was good I hope the rest of the day will be good too. Cannot wait to see lower weights...

I feel really motivated and strong. I bought a smoothie blender. I'll make healthy and nutritious smoothies rather than junk food anymore. And also yesterday I didn't drink alcohol even I went to a bar. Moreover, I walked 10.2 km I'm feeling good.

Going well... Yesterday I made two delicious smoothies, one of them is kinda desert (banana, soy milk, almonds and nuts and chia seeds, you should try!). I took a little more calories however, I walked 5 km (12000 steps), so the calorie intake was ok.

OK... Yesterday I was very stressed and so overate. And also I couldn't sleep, I have a sleep problem because of depression but yesterday I became obsessed with some horrible possibilities and it was worse. Very bad day, I hope today will be better. I'm emotionally unstable, so it is always hard for me to control my diet. I need some stability in my life.

Another bad day. I hadn't drunk alcohol for 8 days, but yesterday I drank 2 drinks. It's not very bad actually I didn't stop drinking permanently but there's no necessary to drink. But my friends were drinking so I joined them... At least I walked 9700 steps.

I'm late but I'm in! I did a round at the beginning of July but have been on holiday since. Holidays ended yesterday and I have to get back on track starting today. I swam pretty much every day while away but ate and drank way to much, so I managed to gain a few pounds
